Hi fsawan50, we are building out a ‘one-stop’ portal where users will get travel inspiration, advice, and the ability to purchase their holiday. We will equip travellers all over the world with just the resources they need to know exactly where and for how long they want to go, whilst spending the adequate amount of currency. Why not selling all 100 m coins under ico?

Absolutely! We have this documented in our whitepaper and a summary in our litepaper. We are also releasing a blog post on this soon to drive further visibility and clarity on the model that we will be linking to our thread here. The tokens are minted over a period of 20 years with a descending reward generation YoY beginning with ~28% in year 1 to ~4% in year 20. Please let me know if you have any further questions regarding this once you have a chance to review our papers and I would be happy to provide additional context. 

Great question! This was a matter of great debate for the founding team and eventually we decided to not opt for an ICO. There are two primary reasons for this.
1. While ICOs are a powerful funding method their legal framework is still largely undefined. We wanted to wait out till this framework gets defined.
2. Without doing an ICO, we wanted to give investors the confidence to invest in Toorcoin. The token is worthless UNLESS we continue to add utility both to the token and Toorister platform that it will be used on to begin with. As such, we have a lot more skin in the game - there's no slacking off after a big payday that you sometimes see post ICO.   

Could you point me to your code repo?

We are working on finalizing the code and targeting to have it available on github by end of may. Working through some final testing of our code before we upload. 

this project is interesting, a revolution in the travel industry. but a similar-themed project there are many markets, I see Toorcoin project has a fresh and innovative idea. hopefully, for the progress will be as planned and many people will be interested in Toorcoin project.

You've raised a valid question, we've been asked this a couple of times, but we are doing this to keep our identities confidential to avoid conflict with our day jobs / employers. While we are using pseudonyms, our profile and experiences are accurate. The roadmap on our website provides information on key milestones we are targeting. Rest assured we are committed to the success of the project and you can assess this against how much we have delivered in so short a span of time. We are a committed team working 18 hour shifts in parallel to our day jobs to make Toorcoin and Toorister a reality. We can only accomplish this with the help of our vibrant community. We could have gone the route of an ICO, but we opted not do so – as such we have a lot more skin in the game to make sure our token succeeds and benefits the travel community. There’s no slacking off for us after a big payday post ICO :) All our coins are worthless unless we continue adding utility to Toorcoin and Toorister - this is unlike what happens post some ICOs, which I'm sure you've heard about.

toorcoin team have done a very fine job, really thought out. Making pre-mine without doing an ICO is also a job to be respected. Because when you do ICO you get the money in advance and the investors hope they will keep your promise. But if it's pre-mine and you can do a good job then you can make money. Therefore, the second requires a much more risky and honorable stance. I liked the project quite a lot, I believe they will succeed in the long run.

I really like that you are not running an ICO, that really shows faith in the potential of the token. And staking is also a really cool idea. Do you have an idea of when the MVP will be available?

The roadmap for third use case of toorcoin Q2 2020 is a bit far, I consider the third use case as one that will have a widely use case and adoption. Because the ability to pay for hotels and tour guides on the toorister platform will be very attractive. If there is a possible roadmap review you can advise the team to bring it forward.

What marketing strategy is in place to create awareness for the project and also have an advantage over competition?

Are you not afraid that the value of the tokens will be extremely low at the time of the start of trading and that everyone participating in the bounty program will want to sell the acquired tokens as quickly as possible? Looks like a really promising project I love that you guys are trying to tackle and eliminate fees associated with international travel transactions. Fees are always a major issue when you're traveling overseas.  Also interesting that you guys are implementing staking, I can see this becoming the easy way to save up for a trip really cool idea.

I'm impressed that Toorcoin chose not to toil the part of ICOs like most project but at the same time, I am curious as to how the plans in the roadmap would be funded since  there was no crowdsale, also how do pay for exchanges listing ?

Hi Romeoetin. Bounty campaigns and online marketing are step 1 to get the word out. We plan to use the community momentum from bounties and leverage them with articles in good publications, ads, video endorsements, etc.

As far as I understood, they gonna mine a certain part of coins for development and marketing purposes in advance and with them they gonna pay, but I'm really far from the technical part of it all.

I like the staking rewards this coin has. There is no need to get massive amounts of coins to have a masternode. Everybody is rewarded, no matter how many coins they have.

1. Tipping other tooristers for their travel insights and helping others with their travel plans
2. Bookings for attractions and activities
3. Broader industry adoption use case (Hotels, Cars, Airline bookings).

I have read through Toorcoin Whitepaper. Nice ideas you have there by trying to make travels easier. I am wondering if Toorcoin want to expand will there be an ICO in the future.

If your funding the activities yourselves, what is the guarantee that the tokens will not be solely concentrated in the hands of the devs, making it centralized instead of being wide spread and decentralized. Meaning they hold a huge amount of tokens and can sway the market any way the want.

Great question! The team only holds 4.5% of the total supply (which is considerably lesser than what other project teams hold). The tokens are also locked in via a smart contract. Currently the team actually holds zero tokens and these will vest over time based on the schedule specified in our white / litepaper. On your point regarding swaying the market, it is counterintuitive for us. Since we get paid in our tokens over time, we know it is imperative we continue adding utility to toorcoin and toorister, or the team's tokens will also be worthless.

Great questions! Yes after we roll out with Europe, the plan is to over time add additional top worldwide travelled destinations to the list, including Asia. Over time we will look to integrate with other travel partners as well, but the initial use cases will be limited to the Toorister website to get traction in the market.
