My prediction is that 2018 is the year of the bear market. 2017 was the year of the bull run. We won't be seeing a bull run not for another year or so. People just got into crypto after 2017. Now that people realise opportunity. U must wait for the arrival. Because reality slaps in the face.

It won't, if you are seeing the chart and the market is rally stable right now. The bear market will just always become the common period to the crypto chart. As you can see the big bear has happened to answer the big increase at the end of last year. if you should not feel panic about that.

i don't think so, because if you can see in 2017 Q1, Q2 and Q3 is the bear markets and Q4 the bull run was coming

Bear market until 2nd quarter of 2018 and another great bull run for the remaining months of 2018. I still believe in the future of cryptocurrency and with bitcoin, I know more good news will come this year so the price may climb higher.

I'm not ready to agree with this. Bitcoin from $ 1000 went up to $ 20,000 in 2017. Now the price is about 8000-9000 $. Thus, the price is 9 times higher than last year. And if we talk about many altcoins, which have increased in price hundreds of times, then the market does not seem bearish.

2018 has been one hell of a brutal year for the investors and yet there does not seem to be an end in sight for the woes of the investors. I don't understand why you predicting this year for bear market , its right that from beginning of this year market  pumps for 10-12 days and dumps heavy and erase all gain in 1-2 days but this not mean this is bear market. I would like to say if you check past 3 years chart of bitcoin you will find market trend for first quarter is bearish to sideways then as start of the second quarter market recovers and come in bullish trend and then in third quarter is bearish to sideways again and in the last quarter market turn fully bullish for all coins. And now a days many bad and negative news coming so and market reactive fast so its going down. I think market will start its upward journey in start of next month.

I do not believe this will be a bear market for 18 years. This is basically impossible. In my opinion, cryptocurrencies have entered a critical period of 17 years. If the bear does not rise again in 18 years. Then the cryptocurrency may crash. Because you don't know how many players will enter each year from 17 to 18.

The whole market is in a depressed state.

crypto was suppose to be easy money. but the opposite if you are looking at prices all day. when the bull run hits the market it will be on the news article warning the apocalypse is coming. but its been quiet. only low alt coins are rising. those arent even news article worthy?

This year's market is really terrible. I saw my friends last year buying and selling cryptocurrencies to make money. This year I tried to buy cryptocurrencies and I was facing financial losses. But I think the cryptocurrency market is still worth investing because  invests in it. Get great benefits! Although the risk is great, I really like his rate of return!

In January people were saying that 2018 is also known as year of cryptocurrency and many of us still believe that many big investors will join blockchain this year. Patience is the key to success.

Many people profited from the huge percentages seen last year. The sustainability of a bull market was not possible any longer. Nevertheless, the market might go this way for another while till the awareness of the utility of the blockchain will be back in the average investors.

its wrong. lot of new people are entering crypto in 2018 and also lot of world biggest exchanges are ready to launch crypto exchanges including nasdaq exchange coming soon. So you will feel current marketcap is very low. nasdaq exchange marketcap is 9 trillion. even if 10% of total nasdaq comes in to crypto means btc will be around $50K also total marketcap will be 2 trillion. so 2018 will be the start of biggest bull runs and 2019 will be much better too.

It is still too early to confirm the market trend for 2018. But I believe there will be plenty of opportunities until the end of the year to make a profit.

You are very optimistic. Perhaps you are right, but with a time limit ... Big money is inert, and it joining/will join slowly. And, of course, they will try to do this discreetly to get the maximum profit. Thus, in the near future we can only expect pumps, like the end of 2017. And, in general, a slow rise.

unfortunately last year's nonstop pumps have ended with a lot of huge bubbles all around the altcoin market and almost all of the altcoins (mostly the bigger altcoins that are on top) are still stuck in huge bubbles and that means they need to get dumped for a very long time before they can get out of their bubbles and get ready for another round of pumps in a bull market with new sets of bubbles.

I think that growth will be at the end of the year, when large investors will begin to record profits. In autumn many large events are expected, which will be supported by growth on the vane.

I am still not sure about the direction of the market guys. We already saw a great bounce but maybe it was just a dead cat bounce. Currently the market is going down again, but I think we will see a new bottom signal around 6k.

The bull market will not come soon enough. We must have patience. In 2018 we have just passed five months. There are still seven months. I don't think that the remaining seven months of the market are always weak.

I mean if it is the opportunity for new people to get into the crypto then surely we will have huge investments going on this year which can drive the crypto currencies all the way to new ATH's. But on thing is sure from the current situation, we will see huge up surge by the end of year 2018 and we may not need to wait for so long time. You are definitely right. And, of course, I thought that it was only the first half-year that was so furious. I think that the market will be very unstable, but by the end of the year we should wait for a real pump.

The BULL run started only after the second Q in year 2017 so I wont be so fast to get in to these kinds of considerations. We have a lot of big companies entering arena this year, which most likely will happen in second half of he year but nevertheless it is something to take in to consideration.

Correction of the market is repeated from year to year. Those who have been on it for a long time already know about the correction and refer to it more loyal. Since after even a long correction, the market always begins to grow.

A lot of uncertainty still about regulations, I'm personally waiting for the regulations of the g20 in june/july and I think a lot of people are also waiting for that. We have seen good news these last months, nasdaq and other big stock exchanges have shown interest in bitcoin but they said they would be waiting for regulations first.

Do not be hurry to make conclusions because there is a half of a year an as far as we know big movements usually happens on autumn on various markets and BTC can increase its price in several times for two three months I consider that it is very early to  mark market as bearish.

Everyone hoped for a bull movement in the spring, but this did not happen. Let's wait for autumn, autumn is a good time for the currency. People begin to spend more in the fall and early winter.

The more bad news from onecoin and some people are manipulating the market right now. But in my prediction, this caused by the mtgox trustee which makes the market even worse by dumping its bitcoin to the market directly. I remember this was becoming the main reason why mtgox trustee is preventing bitcoin to increase more and more.
Until the all of bitcoin at in the hands of the mtgox trustee will be empty and I don't believe there will be any big increase in the future.

Bear can already be called the first half of this year. However, I do not think that this will be the whole year. We see that bitcoin has already recovered from the correction and the last month it shows a slow growth. I think that such a slow growth in the second half of the year could be followed by very active growth. Moreover, because of its high volatility, bitcoin can not stay in one place for a long time.

Not an assurance but a possible thing to happen with this year but i cant think off a full year bearish market and comparing out on prices on previous years i do see we are still on the right level which i dont really consder too low where it signifies theres still a strong support inspite of these falling prices but now i do see price goes back to $7500 once again and this would be the time to think to buy even more coins specially on bitcoin. It COULD be a bear market, but as far as this latest trend goes, we're still ahead of where we were last month. So maybe this is just a correction and we'll see another run up in the later part of the year. Bitcoin as long as I can remember has always done this in the earlier months of the year. It can be sideways or down, at its lowest for many months, then double or triple at the end of the year.

This has become real as bitcoin could not recovered by this middle of the year. I think it's really normal cause last year Bitcoin price was dump about 50% from more than $6k to $3k and until now everything still fine. Don't worry to much about this terrible time cause if you can wait, you'll be able to enjoy your waiting effort cause Bitcoin price and all other cryptocurrencies price will pump very soon :)

I don't think market would go much lower from what we have now . Take a look at bitcoin price and compare it with mining difficulty , and you will understand there is no much space to fall from current levels. I don't think market will become really bullish this year , but it definitelly will be more healthy comparing to what we have now.

We came to the middle of 2018 but have not yet got a clear idea of what trends will be the main ones. But in crypto, everything can change in an instant. It remains to wait and hope.

This year has not finished yet so while your assumption is just a prediction because we have at least a half of the year and it is quite much time. The situation may be changed very fast although now you are right but anyway I am waiting a boost  of market prices especially ETH and BTC.

Last year was exceptional and the bull run might not appear again only it's Q4 and nothing else has changed. If you want to look for patterns you also need to look a bit further than just last year. Besides that are now rumours about market manipulation last december, so if they are true expect a long crypto winter to come.

This year so far has ticked off many people due to the prolonged bear market and I do not think this is going to change anytime soon which is not a big deal for me since I tend to focus more on the long term prospects of my portfolio instead of focusing on the short term prospects. I am expecting the market to continue to remain bearish until August which is when I think the market will begin rallying again until Bitcoin reaches $10k.

In my opinion, that is not true because i think every year there's a bear market and ofcourse still there's a bull market. Everytime market is always change so in believer of bull market i will become patient until its turn. So don't lose hope

It is true, from the beginning of the year we see only a fall and it is not known when it will end and prices will start rising. I'm inclined to agree. But even if we won't see as much of a bull run as we saw in 2017, the market would improve from its current state. Projects are working extremely hard to improve their standings and one of this might be the key to attract more investors into the cryptoshpere

For those that were around last december when the price was going sky high for all crypto, it is pretty depressing to see market conditions like this for an entire half year.
But, actually, this has been incredibly healthy for crypto in the long run.

Crytpo sorely needs stability and btc especially needs to find it's stable, reliable price point.

If not, we will see another situation like last year where it shoots up momentarily and then crashes fo an extended period of time.
I don't think the market would be able to survive something like that again.

Overall, I want crypto to be adopted, mainstreamed, and have steady reliable growth rather than crazy speculation.

Your prediction does not have a basis, I would have believe you, check through past year shart, the bull period, tend to commence during the 3Q of the year, as the space is evolve sure we can have several changes in the space, Year 2018 wont be a bear market season.

Although its hard to predict but I think you are right market will get alive last quarter of the year maybe this is same last year. The bullish happening every last quarter of the year. So for now just calm and relax the day of harvesting  your coin will always come.

I don't figure market would go much lower from what we have now . Investigate bitcoin cost and contrast it and mining trouble , and you will comprehend there is no much space to tumble from current levels. Yes year 2018 has been having a series of bear market period but I think the current bear market conditions is the worst but I still feel it will get better

It has been long this prediction exists. In fact, you're right that precisely 2018 is one of the bear market. The market is very unstable for all coins including bitcoin and all promising altcoins. This looks bad but however, it may be cycle. And 2018 is experience the bad cycle. Just be more patient to wait what will happen to 2019.

I think if a market like this is better the altcoins stock is at the lowest price.
