Title: [SOLD OUT] Dipo Electronic 19 port USB hubs
Post by: klintay on January 16, 2014, 03:45:20 AM
Industrial 19 port Steel casing USB Hub (with power cable & USB cable)
20 Amps @ 5v
Both 220/110 voltage options available

*** PROPERLY supports Red/Blue/Ice Fury 2.6 Ghs AND Bi-Fury 4+ Ghs USB miners***
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Description
This is a 19 port hub with an integral power supply that is capable of reliably supplying MORE than 700mA per port without overheating or becoming a fire hazard. Comes with usb and power cables, everything you need to make the hub work out of the box.

-   Fully 480mb/s at each port
-   16 Front facing Standard A USB ports
-   3 Side facing Standard A
-   1 Master hub connection Standard B for connection to Computing Equipment or other hubs
-   Fully fused internally via multiple poly-fuse resettable fuses both on each individual port and on the main power feed to the Ports.
-   UK/EU/USA Plugs available!
-   Hub runs COOL
-   Colour: Silver

Unlike cheaper USB ports that only implement links at USB 1.0 standard (12mb/s speeds but state they are 'compatible' with USB 2.0) this is a professional FULL 480 Mb/s port that complies and implements the full 2.0 USB standard. It may also be used to connect to generic USB 1.0 equipment.

The good thing about these hubs is that you can load them up with 19 Bi-Fury miners (around 76 gh/s) and the miners would STILL run as intended.

Price

bitcoin/paypal: $150 usd

Weight
2.2 Kg each hub

Payment Methods
1. Bitcoin: you can just pay BTC and attach the transaction details to this thread.
2. Paypal (PM me for details)

Bitcoin Payment Address: 16NqeYCSwU8fx7FhEpQiuYGaQJgssDuuwS

Send Address by PM, with copy of BTC transaction ID, so we can tie it all together!!!
You MUST give country so we can set voltage switch before shipping!!!

SHIPPING

There are two options available:

1. Expedited Airmail (Speed post) with tracking number (2-5 days):  $70 usd (additional items +$30 usd)
2. Normal Airmail with tracking number (5-14 days) : $40 usd (additional items +$20 usd)

The time it takes for normal airmail really depends. I have seen it as fast as 4 says to places like USA. Right now isn't a busy time so they should be no delays. I have regular shipments going to the post office Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday

I really NEED the following PM info:

1. Full address (if this is wrong then it CANNOT be delivered)
2. Phone number (if express, so the carrier can arrange delivery)
3. Voltage you want it set to 110/220
4. price you translated at (So it is visible if you got the discount for BTC)

Background
Why our hub is 'special'?
(ungrounded BUCK convertors on mains supply are potential killers)
A point than not many people know is that over 90% of the powered USB hubs on the market are actually 'defective', and in many cases have an inherent and potentially dangerous electrical fault.(It's why Chicks in China keep electrocuting themselves when answering a charging  mobile), this is what happens when you design products in isolated labs with little regard for the environment they are used in. (then rip the design without understanding the implications and decision making)

Potentially one of the reasons why we keep seeing so many people with  USB chains that go down or fail to recognize devices when they are plugged in. Usually the people with the SBC's  ( Pi, etc) are more prone to these faults, because these  powered USB hubs usually come with a PSU that has been ripped from a phone PSU design and as such were never designed to operate in a USB environment worse many USB implementations incorrectly mix the shield with the 0V line.

A very simple test…..
Take your USB hub PSU and measure the output voltage, you should see about 5-12v.
Now… find an earthed point (metal computer case) and measure first from GND to the center pin of the 5-12v PSU and then GND to the outside tab of the 5-12v PSU.(making a note of the readings each time)
On the shitty PSU's you can maybe read as much as 120-160v between the PSU & GND.
So….. the question is… when you have your nice shiny computer running, and you plug in your 10USD USB hub with the external PSU, WTF does the 120-160V difference in potential go once the supply is no longer floating?
(…. yep into the GND connection of the connected USB equipment, which then throws the USB silicon out of wack & possibly causing latch-up of the silicon.)

Powered USB hubs are a VERY bad idea unless they are EARTHED and have PSU's DESIGNED with a Delta.!!!!
A REALLY REALLY cool trick is that if you 'stack' multiple 'cheap' powered hubs into each other and reverse the PSU two pin plugs, you can build a voltage multiplier.

Freddyfarnsworth is correct these are the best quality hub that I have put my hands on.  I have had 10-15 different hubs and for bitfury sticks none of them work as well as these do.  I am running 16 ice 'nano' fury sticks   clocks of 54 and 55 on one of these. they just work.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/41/5ig0.jpg

I did 16 at freq 54or 55 on this hub.  no power errors

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/62/x7l2.jpg

This hub does  only  7 of 10 at 54 with an occasional power error

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/593/dumn.jpg

the classic sign of a lack of power on a nano fury overclock is this line of type in bfg miner.

NFY 0 : Frequency drop over 50% detected reinitializing .

with this repeating a lot you need to drop your oc.   well I can't get all 55 over clocks with this hub but I get 16 working 10 at 55 over clock and 6 at 54 overclock    zero power warnings.

the 16 sticks are doing 2.5-2.6 each so 16 sticks get 41gh and use 55 watts k-a-watt meter.

I purchased one from razorfishsl on this site.  I liked it so much I bid on  an ebay auction  for a second one  and I now have a second one coming in.  I posted here because the ebay auction was done by klintay.  I hope to get it soon.  the last one took 8 days was held in customs four days or would have been quicker.

These are so much better then any hub I have used. especially better with bitfury chips.

I received my hub today.

seems good, currently loaded with 11 Nanofury yellow jackets and three usb erupters.
Would have more, but my stupid laptop's usb controller apparently cried uncle :P

Want more, will be in touch :)

I got this today.  I now have 2 units.  I am running 32 ice fury sticks.  with clocks at 54 + 55 my total is 87gh for 32 sticks and 121 watts of power used.

These are fine hubs truly good quality.

 I have used:

I have used a few other hubs. no links and I use higher quality power bricks

This 19 port hub is far far far better for  the bit fury chip.  I run ice fury on it and they are better on these hubs then any of the hubs above.

I run ant miners and you don't need this hub for an ant miner unless you want to go to the 2.2 overclock  .  I want to thank the op for shipping this quickly to me.  thanks phil

Received the hub today: really nice piece of equipment. And I can confirm that it's compatible with Raspberry Pi.

I posted the first part of my review in the hubs thread here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=253749.msg4846272#msg4846272).

You are welcome mate! They do work fantastic with the bitfury chips which require that extra bit of extra juice to get their full potential.

Nice review, i would be interested in seeing how these handle the bi-fury miners as well...might need to wait for the price of them to come down a little first though.

Good day,

I would be interested in the HUB, what would be the BTC price including shipping to Austria?

If the hub sent as a gift, because of the customs? HUB is 100% compatible with RaspberryPi?

They have a photo of the back, for a possible wall mounting?

regards

There is a 6% discount for btc orders. The price including shipping to Austria is $210 usd/ 0.259btc (according to current coinbase btc price)

with the 6% discount that is 0.244btc in total. They are compatible with RaspberryPi and just send me a message once you make payment with your delivery details/special customs requests etc.

Not too sure about the back mountings but will upload pics shortly for you to see for yourself.

I can assure that klintay service is professional and he was trustworthy in my case.
I get my package after about 5 working days from HK to Poland.

Some photos of this beauty http://imgur.com/a/4BH89#3 :)

I will test it full of most power draw USB miner on market = our Bi•Fury ;) and post some review.

Thanks klintay !

I confirm that I have received my hub. Local customs charged me with VAT (Value Added Tax) but the duties for the item was free because it's electronics.

Will post pictures soon. I forgot to upload them last week. I have 2 Blue Furies and 2 Nano Furies and 1 Dual Miner, and they all work separately, but I can't get them to all work all at the same time. I attribute that to a software issue, not hardware though, so this hub is good.

Since I don't have enough miners to test this, I'm going to just try charging a bunch of mobile phones and tablets with it. hehe.

Received mine... Had to replace the power cord with one with a US plug, but it's running well.

I'll take some photos tomorrow... Running a RedFury, Bi*Fury, 3x Drillbit thumbs, and 4x Antminer U1's.

Yes, it is a three-pin.  Standard PSU cord for the US with ground/earth plug.

Here's how it looks:

And yes, I know about all the warnings on the USB gooseneck fans, but haven't found a good high CFM alternative with a small footprint.

That's just the tip of the iceberg...

So on your USB hub I've got:
3x Drillbit Thumbs
1x Bi*Fury
1x RedFury
4x Antminer U1's
connected to my Mac Pro

On the ASICMiner 49 Port hub I've got:
44x ASICMiner Block Erupters
3x Antminer U1's
Connected to a RaspPi with Minepeon

In a Spotswood case:
5x Drillbit 8Boards
Connected to a BeagleBoneBlack (Debian)

1x Antminer S1

In another Spotswood Case:
4x MSI TFIII 7950's
(Middlecoin Mining)

You can see some of them before I rearranged things and got the Antminer S1 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJkZFXVxyDo

Will have to post an updated video with your hub and the S1 that just arrived ;)

Hi,
What you may consider doing… for a test is throw that 49 board from the Raspberry pi to the  OSX for an hour and compare your hash rates.

I found that the hash rates improve when I moved my miners from shitty little cutter single core SBC's, sometimes as much as 400MH/s per miner for the BE's
The issue is that on many of these SBC's the  Ethernet/network is chained off the same damned USB systems.

The only thing to watch is that for some reason OSX is very fussy about the structure of the USB chain.
The devices show up, but the miner software has a hell of a job enumerating the devices.
Sometimes failing to remove devices that were removed.

Yup, I used to have the 49hub on the Mac.  But as you mentioned, the enumeration is a bitch, especially for the Erupters.  It made the network systempref hang anytime I brought it up for network settings. Oddly enough, they seem happier on my Raspberry Pi with the latest preview build of Minepeon and BFGMiner and hashrate hasn't really suffered. CGMiner was worse on the Pi.

Your hub and the more powerful USB miners (even the ones that share drivers with the Erupters) are much better with my Mac now, which itself is a bit mission critical since I run a p2pool node this all connects to.  I even have a dual Link aggregated gig-Ethernet connection between my managed switch and my Mac Pro to maximize connections to my p2pool node so not being able to open the network syspref wasn't ideal.

Yep the reason it hangs in systempref is that is where the shitty setup for modems is processed and since the BE's enumerate as serial interfaces……
Something messes up and….well you get the picture…

'ZOC' does the same with FTDI USB serial chips sometimes….

I get my package after about 5 working days from HK to Poland.

Some photos of this beauty http://imgur.com/a/4BH89#3 :)

I will test it full of most power draw USB miner on market = our Bi•Fury ;) and post some review.

Thanks klintay !

Felipeo, any word yet on the results when using the bi-fury usb miners?

Felipeo, any word yet on the results when using the bi-fury usb miners?

Sorry for long time no post but I really have much to do last time ;)

And now to the point!
Yes this Dipo hub is the most power full production hub I have in my hand!
I can confirm Hub easy serve 19 Bi•Fury's with no power drops!

For every day I used setup like this:
https://i.imgur.com/fmRgBEP.jpg

And get result like this(last device is weaker one, its not because lack of power):
https://i.imgur.com/TVrhgAj.png

16 Bi•Fury's and minepeon.

And because Dipo have 3 USB ports on side its quite expandable ;)
So basically you can easily made Dipo + 3x Dipo monster with 64+ ports all 5V and 1A, using just 1 USB port in your computer(rPi will not see 2 line)

My next setup will be Dipo + 3x ORICO A3H10(because I have couple in hand) That will be 16 + 3x5 = 31 Bi•Fury ;)

Thanks again klintay!

Good day,

USB HUB will be available again?

That is strange. The invoice is in a plastic sleeve on the side off the box. I have sent you a personal message with download links for the certificate of postage and the invoice. Please contact the post office and tell them that it has been lost in transit and you have a copy to give them. If you have anymore problems then let me know.

The dimensions of the hub are:

21cm x 12cm x 6cm

The weight is about 2.2 kg

@klintay

I have received the HUB yesterday, unfortunately I had to pay extra for 30 € customs fee ...

So the HUB run with 8 BiFury Miners and 10 Antminer U2+, I hope he is strong enough for the load!?

I load pictures tonight ;)

OK thanks,

at time I have no problem, but when also hang my Raspberry on the HUB then i have a problem with port 14!?

Good day,

I have a problem with one BFx2 Miner, one miner always lose the "red light" at one USB Port "14" and run very slow, is this a problem fro the USB port or to less power from the port?

The miner runs but without the "Vcore" light!???

So i don't know...

Try this:

Swap your PI cable from port 19 with the miner on port 14, that will take your USB chain to the miner down 1 level, it will also highlight if it is a socket problem on 14

I have received the HUB yesterday, unfortunately I had to pay extra for 30 € customs fee ...

So the HUB run with 8 BiFury Miners and 10 Antminer U2+, I hope he is strong enough for the load!?

I load pictures tonight ;)

Should be no problem. This hub can support all those miners, even if it is fully loaded. I have sixteen twin chip miners running nice (average speed is 3.8 gh/s per miner, without overclock)  ;)

OK thanks,

at time I have no problem, but when also hang my Raspberry on the HUB then i have a problem with port 14!?

Try plugging the miner into another port on the hub and even directly into a computer by itself. If the voltage light is still turning off then it could be a defective miner and hence it needs replacing. Who did you buy BFx2 from? Maybe they can replace if it is not working as it should.

Also is the raspberry pi always hanging?

So my pictures of the HUB with the miners:

Ok, post what you find out. I hope it works. This sounds silly but change miners around so that antminer is in port 14 instead.

Luckily it's only  $5us
There is an 'inherent flaw' in such devices, some require to feed the target device via a low value resistor and then compute the voltage drop across the resistor.
( in doing so they drop the voltage but also have to pass ALL the current from the measured device thru the measuring resistor…)

So don't take the results it gives too seriously , it unlikely to  report the details correctly & it may stand a good chance of slowing the miner down a little (due to current limitation)( But it may reduce the number of HW errors you get!!!!)

Also do not leave it plugged into the port permanently as it is likely to  overheat  & distort the plastic case.

There are better units available that do not use such limited ways to measure the current.

Hello guys,

so I have test a little bit he HUB, and I think it’s a good quality ;)

Only the voltage is on the lower end of the USB standard.

My Devices: 10 x Antminer U2+ (~ 1,8 GH/s / anu-freq:225), 8 x Bfx2 (~ 3,5 GH/s / bxm-bits:53)

Here my table:
USB portDeviceVoltageamperage
1Bfx24,451,01
2Antminer4,550,61
3Bfx24,401,05
4Antminer4,500,62
5Antminer4,600,64
6Bfx24,401,05
7Antminer4,600,64
8Bfx24,451,02
9Bfx24,451,07
10Antminer4,600,61
11Bfx24,451,01
12Antminer4,550,61
13Antminer4,650,59
14Bfx24,451,07
15Antminer4,650,58
16Bfx24,611,01
17Antminer4,550,61
18Antminer4,500,61
19Empty for Pi later
So when the voltage is OK, I can say a good result about the measurement. I hope for the permanent load about 16 A is for the HUB no problem?

At time my results from the Cgminer, one Bfx2 is a little bit slower...

Nice results! The 16A load should be no problem. I have mine filled with 16 x Twin Chips and it has been running fine for weeks now  ;)

Hello guys,

so I have test a little bit he HUB, and I think it’s a good quality ;)

Only the voltage is on the lower end of the USB standard.

My Devices: 10 x Antminer U2+ (~ 1,8 GH/s / anu-freq:225), 8 x Bfx2 (~ 3,5 GH/s / bxm-bits:53)

Here my table:
USB portDeviceVoltageamperage
1Bfx24,451,01
2Antminer4,550,61
3Bfx24,401,05
4Antminer4,500,62
5Antminer4,600,64
6Bfx24,401,05
7Antminer4,600,64
8Bfx24,451,02
9Bfx24,451,07
10Antminer4,600,61
11Bfx24,451,01
12Antminer4,550,61
13Antminer4,650,59
14Bfx24,451,07
15Antminer4,650,58
16Bfx24,611,01
17Antminer4,550,61
18Antminer4,500,61
19Empty for Pi later
So when the voltage is OK, I can say a good result about the measurement. I hope for the permanent load about 16 A is for the HUB no problem?

At time my results from the Cgminer, one Bfx2 is a little bit slower...

Those readings are  Incorrect…. there is no way they should be down at 4.5v

Hello,

i know it's a cheap comparative and no measurement, but on a other Power Supply ( Solo 1,5A@5V) is the measurement with the USB about 4,95V.

It should also be noted tolerances:

http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0367/9953/products/201433112440864_1024x1024.jpg?v=1396415121

For my purposes, it was sufficient that I've seen that it can not be due to the current strength. When comparing the one should also note that the ~ 4.5V were measured at load in idle it was at ~ 4.85 V.

regards

seems to be an issue of accuracy with the device...still a useful tool

I have made a nice unboxing of the Eyeboot.com usb hub.
Reading all the reports abot the voltage, my Chinese voltmeter says 5.023 volts on usb port 1.
Maybe inside you can easy lower of increase the voltage?

Bit off topic, the usb hub really turbo charging my mobile phone  ;D

My Unboxing video, please thumbs up :-)

Will this work for charge and sync¿?

Basically my usage will be a Little bit different that bitcoint miner, we need to use as a charging and sync station.

I know the total AMP for both of them

10 port [10amp] =

•   5 devices of 1.0a  (Charge & Sync)
•   2 tablets of 2.1a   (Charge & Sync)
•   Total load 9.2amp

¿Am I right?

19 port [20amp] =

•   9 devices of 1.0a  (Charge & Sync)
•   5 tablets of 2.1a  (Charge & Sync)
•   Total load 19.5amp

¿Am I right?

49 port [75amp] =

•   38 devices of 1.0a  (Charge & Sync)
•   15 tablets of 2.1a  (Charge & Sync)
•   total load 70.5amp

¿Am I right?

In resume, is the AMP measure by usb port or by total load?. Could I buy a 100amp 5v PSU for the 49 USB port? In order to supply 2.1a to all of the ports

The 19 port hub can only do a maximum of about 1-1.2 amps per port.

price drop to $60 usd

I think with this Cable the load 2A is no problem for the HUB ;) you can load one equipment over two ports!?

Power Adapter USB Cable 2xUSB

For connecting devices such as USB hard disks when the power provided by one USB port is not sufficient
The power is provided parallel to the first power interface.

• 1x USB port data/power,
• 1x USB connector data/power
• 1x USB power connector

Hi,

The specs says:

"-   Fully fused internally via multiple poly-fuse resettable fuses both on each individual port and on the main power feed to the Ports. "

This mean the hub allows to control power for every usb port? Please, can you specify if the USB port can be power off completely?

regards,
