Title: What language should I learn next?
Post by: deisik on May 25, 2018, 09:46:21 PM
I know some of you would wonder what this topic is doing here, in the Economics section, but since it is in fact an economic question with purely utilitarian goals in mind, I think it is where it should be. This is a serious question and I'm not kidding. I'm not very interested in European languages like German or French, or whatever, as I think languages like Chinese and Japanese are more promising and rewarding in terms of both usage and money in the nearest future. Personally, I'm more inclined toward Japanese (that's why I'm not decided yet), though I understand that Chinese may be a better choice for the time being and years to come

So what is your opinion on this matter from an economic point of view, with crypto in mind?

Since English language is our international language then why don't we expand our knowledge with this language. English language would be the way to interact with other people around the world and I think Japan and china is in the process of learning English language so we need to wait that people around can speak English so that we can trade around the world without any language barrier.

Being fluent in English is no longer a privilige, but rather a necessity. My personal experience was learning a language that is not so common (Norwegian). It has some pros and cons. I think Chinese has a great potential if you dont mind the challange.

I think it depends which culture you would prefer to study more, because I think both will be good from a crypto point of view.

Seeing that Japan has a more open attitude to Bitcoin, I would say Japanese is the safer option in terms of your studies paying off.

If you are able to learn Chinese and Japanese at the same time, you'll have a great asset not only on where you are but also when you go there.
I'm not so sure about China's stand with crypto right now but Japan has an obvious support to it.

You have a very sensible question in this board of the forum. It is really the question to think as I am seeing that Chinese are growing faster in their development in economics and they are focusing their own language so if anyone will want to involve in the economy of Chinese then they have to learn their language.

While the other languages which you presented is not much important to learn because these countries often use English language for to maintain international language and they learn English in their academies to stand with the world.

When in doubt always pay attention to the figure. Now every third person on earth or from India or from China. The more people understand you the more useful the language you will learn. I think this answers your question.

If I am private, I prefer to learn Chinese. because I see China is a big and developed country, has a population and tourist attractions are many and interesting to visit. If I can speak Chinese, then I will easily communicate with Chinese people, if one day I visit in that country.

China has a large community in every country. they are always grouped into traders in various countries. and their language began to be taken into account because China controlled trade.
Many people predict that China will become a super power state beating USA.

Im not an English speaker but I prefer English because it is a universal language.People around the globe who arent english speaker like me try to educate myself so that I can communicate to them.Theres nothing wrong if we will try another language like "niponggo"japanese and mandarin "chinese" but its way to hard because even english language is kinda difficult to learn from non english speaker how much more if we used another languages.

Some Chinese language are similar to Japanese(Kanji) because some of it are derived mostly from Chinese and if you aren't aware Cantonese is an old chinese language compared to the modern Mandarin language. While the difference of learning Nihongo in Japanese is a bit hard in terms of writing and reading because of the phonetic writing system involve which is the hiragana, katakana and kanji. I hope you were aware of these so that it will be a lot easier for you to understand not literally in the words. ;D

Some point to consider when you want to learn about your next language is choose the nearest country on your place, as for example you are living in Tokyo, since you know already fluent in English then you can try to learn the language in the next country like Mongolia, so the moment you are looking for place to visit then you can try it since you have basic knowledge on their language and no problem when you want to go tour, but when we say making translation of whitepaper then choose the language that mostly trigger your interest.

I believe that this question is not an ordinary and worthless because we know that language is of the most important weapon to survive. Learning to speak multiple languages is not a useless thing because for me languages is one of the tools to communicate with those persons characters, attitudes, thought and al with their hearts. Language in very important not only to understand people but it is more important to know what people's culture, traditions, norms, customs, folkways, beliefs and to understand personal feelings.

Since we know English language is the most popular language around the world because it is our international medium of institutions. We need to be more proficient to all languages to acquire globally. Language learning was once considered nothing more than a hobby, but as the world continues to become increasingly connected, learning a language other than English is considered a necessity. Advancing technologies have afforded us the ability to communicate no matter where we are in the world, amplifying the importance of foreign language study.

Chinese would be my choice. Yes they have closed their borders from the cryptocurrency world. Only how long would that be? They will need to open their country to innovation, the same way they opened their country's economy to the world which caused one big boom in the world's economy.

Now, English is international language where English is used in international trade, foreign relation, international business, etc. But if we see the world development globally that economic strength of china is already dominate the world economy. The Trade of China already penetrated to all part of the world. China economy influent every area. So are the middle east till be part of the purpose of world trade. Internasional business & trade can't be separated from the middle east. So according to me, I should learn English, Chinese language & Arabic

Based from what you have said, I think you are brilliant when it comes in English language. Well, it is a big deal anymore since English language is the primary language and most commonly used language in the whole world. In my opinion, learning of Hangul and Nihonggo is better to know because these two languages are mainly unique. In addition, I like to go in Japan and Korea soon. Therefore, I want to know there language.

Chinese and Japanese will be a good start as both of them are really involved heavily in crypto currencies. I still remember though attending once seminar long ago and they said that BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) will be big in the next 5-10 years. So perhaps any language like Portuguese or Russia will be also good to learn. They might end up big together with Japan or even South Korea in terms of crypto growth.

If I were you, I would have had chosen Japanese. First, because I am into Anime. So, I would want to learn the language to get rid of the English Subtitle. Second, because I am into Japanese woman. Finally, I would want to visit their country. So, I have to learn the language in order to find myself at ease if I go there. Although they speak English, but their accent is weird and you can barely understand anything they are trying to say.

Learning different language is really great...  And we all know that the major language that we need to know more is the English language....  But learning other language is quite better....  For me I prefer learning Chinese language....  But both of that are good also but if you will going to analyze....  Chinese is huge language used by lots of country....  Ansmd in terms in economics we all know that a lots of professional bussiness man is a Chinese....  So if atleast you know how to communicate and convey what you want through that language much better....  But if can try another then that's an another learning....  It will develops your communication skills more....

If you were really serious with your question here and like you said, considering the economic aspect of it I would say Chinese it should be. Perhaps not so many people know that Chinese is the most widely spoken language in the world, not English Language. Population and trade might are in favour of Chinese. China has a highest population in the world and that runs into billions. Even the US with all its world trade and financial strength trembles at that awareness. So, go for Chinese.

Well, In my opinion on this matter from an economic point of view is why we did not widen or knowledge in English language since it is also our national language and it might use in our daily lifes or in our work environment we can communicate with other people or other nationality if we are fluent talking in english. Honestly, I am not good enough to communicate in english verbally or in written but I am trying my best to do it because it can help me a lot in my job and also here in cryptoworld. And if we are good enough in communicating in English thats a right time to learned a new language.

Lot of people nowadays know how to speak English language. It is a must if you want to communicate with other people in different parts of the world but in terms of economic situation, learning chinese will be very useful for long term preferences. We know that China is doing private transactions exclusively for their country and if you want to involve yourself with this transactions, you should learn their language. China is one of the fastest growing countries in terms of economy and transacting with Chinese people would be very useful and beneficial.

I think Japanese is a language we should learn after English because Japan is a country that strongly supports cryptocurrency and always thinking to go forward so Japanese language will be very important later

I would suggets you better learn Japanese. Since Japan is more open to cryptocurrency than China, japan has more potential country to invest in cryptocurrency. Likewise, you can deal with people in Japan especially those are investors in cryptocurrency.

I think in this capitalist imperialist world the most important language to learn is arabic because both natural resources and trafe routes are mined on arabic lands. Other languages like french and russian I think are not as crucial due to wide knowledge of English on thses lands and these lands are not strategically as important as Arabic lands.

if I think it is better to learn japanese, because we know together that in this japanese state crypto is created, and in this country all access about cryptocurrency is supported and facilitation, we know together that china country, specifically for crypto forbid even close access , how can you have any idea about crypto if the government has banned it?
this is why the japanese language I chose to be more learned than china

Since English language is our international language then why don't we expand our knowledge with this language. English language would be the way to interact with other people around the world and I think Japan and china is in the process of learning English language so we need to wait that people around can speak English so that we can trade around the world without any language barrier.
The OP seems to be already very fluent on the English language, if I was the one in the shoes of the OP I will choose to learn German it is a very useful language and it has a lot of similar words to the English language so learning it should be easier, however since he's undecided between learning Chinese or Japanese from an utilitarian point of view Chinese should be the best choice, but if I was the one choosing between those two languages I will choose Japanese because I will like to visit that country someday.

If you compare the two languages between Japanese and Chinese, I think you should learn Chinese because the Chinese have the largest population in the world and their economy is very strong. In the future, many people believe China can beat USA (it's just a prediction) , but if you can learn both Chinese and Japanese at the same time, it is a great thing.

For the question, I think you should also learn a bit from Russian section even if you don't have any shits to give about the Europians. With that knowledge you can also help this forum from pointing out those little bastards who keeps on messing this forum all the time and abusing the current system. I find it a difficult task for me as for their language is quite hard to understand unlike the Japanese language which I'm also learning it right now. As far as I know, the Japanese has their own forum, if we we're able to join that I think we can also find an idea about the markets that they do in the current time.

Studying Chinese language will be useless if you are going to use it for crypto currency because china already banned bitcoin or should I say crypto currency. I prefer you to learn some language which crypto currency is not banned but rather they used it mostly. Thats my suggestion and opinion hope it will help you.

If you open up any site which has been translated into a number of foreign languages, you can be certain that Chinese will be one of them. I'm also well aware of the many instances where a Chinese translation was the only translation available. To be honest, it's been a while since I had seen a Japanese translation. Besides, I think people are making a mountain out of a molehill when they say that crypto is banned in China. People were crying wolf when Russian officials started to sell wolf tickets and threaten folks there with severe criminal prosecution and even imprisonment for possessing cryptocurrencies. I said it right away back then that these had been empty threats, and they were as history proved later. Anyway, learning two languages such as Chinese and Japanese at the same time will be a really daunting task. Wtf, learning even one of them will be a daunting task in its own right

But finding a native speaker from China is of course a lot easier these days

In case you want to use your new language for business, please keep in mind that doing business with Chinese People is not only a matter of language but requires a deep understanding of the culture

This seems to be another exaggeration or rather a boogeyman. I was doing business with Chinese in person, and I can't say that they are somehow different from any other people in the world, culturally or otherwise, I mean beyond universally accepted standards of courtesy and respect. These stories about insurmountable culture differences have become kind of urban legend or serve as a specious excuse in certain cases, I suspect

Simply put, when money talks bullshit walks (and no one cares which grammar it uses)

Chinese language will be ten times more "useful" in the future than Japanese. But if you mean learning also the writting, well good luck... Thousands of characters to know by heart with the associated tone, it takes a life to learn it if you start from adult age or if you are not a genius.

Learning how to speak Chinese is not too difficult though. Grammar is quite simple.

Learning a new language is challenging yet fun. The language that must be learned is the one closed to our heart, and that interests us. Learning a foreign language is more than just a boost for travelling, it will make us smarter, decisive, improves memory, and become more perceptive. If I want to learn a new language that would be French, because France has rich history, culture, tradition, and most of all has wonderful people, to get to converse and learn from them. I find French language hard to learn because of its pronunciation and words, and that's what I love more as I want to challenge myself.

If you will plan to have some business talks with Japanese crypto holders then study japanese language then same to do with the Chinese people. But if I were you, I think much favorable if you'll go with the japanese language because we may already conclude that China do not show strong support in cryptocurrency since they already ban ICOs and there are rumors spreading that their government itself encourage their countrymen to invest in gold and silver ~ therefore, learning chinese language will not become very useful.

China has a large community in every country. they are always grouped into traders in various countries. and their language began to be taken into account because China controlled trade. Many people predict that China will become a super power state beating USA.
Exactly there is more than 1.3 billion china's population not included those who live outside the country. China is a superpower country and it progresses well with its technology and economy. Even though it banned cryptocurrencies, they can always change their mind and update their policies. Japan, on the other hand, has really advanced technology and a great potential on its economy as well - not to mention Japan is one of the countries that have most potential on attracting tourists.

You already know English language, so no need for me. To go ahead and suggest that to you, lol. Okay, since you talked about Japanese and Chinese, I will make a suggestion from the two. First of all, when it comes to which one of these two languages you mentioned is easy to learn and write, then you probably have to go for Chinese. Chinese language has simple grammar with no verb conjugation, and you can easily master the writing. And in terms of culture, they pretty look alike, but I still go for Chinese cause I think believe it is way more above Japanese. I’m not a Chinese, but I do like most things that has to do with it and I believe it will be more helpful to you in future.

From an economic point of view, it's better to learn Chinese. But Russians are very involved in adventuristic types of earning, that's why there are so much rich people in Russia.

Everyone knows the mother tongue of own country. As well as knowing some other languages, any time it may be needed anywhere. However, the English language is used everywhere. Because it is international language. In our country English is now more than the mother tongue. So this language has to be emphasized.

Chinese is the most spoken language in the world and also the China economy is one of the biggest in the world. So from an economic point of view, learning chinese is the best choice between your options. Even fluent in Chinese language is a plus point to apply for a job in my country. But if you decided to learn Japanese, it's still worth it. Japan is also one of the biggest. Like China, many companies from Japan are operating in many countries.

Chinese would be my choice. Yes they have closed their borders from the cryptocurrency world. Only how long would that be? They will need to open their country to innovation, the same way they opened their country's economy to the world which caused one big boom in the world's economy.
china always has a way to break the boundaries. they always have new innovations that can affect the world economy, it is no wonder that china becomes the main goal. we can see the policy in china big influence in cryptocurrency

I would prefer learning a second language like the Chines, The growing influence of chines in the business community is a greater value, yes, English our main language of communication into the trading market as of this day, but having another one is a plus factor of an individual who involve in the trading market.

Now it seems English is your second language, I think Chinese is the best language for you to learn, because we all know that China is a very advanced country and they are hard-working people. It's hard to learn but if you want to learn, you can do it. The Chinese language is the most widely used language in the world and also the Chinese economy is one of the largest in the world.

So what is your opinion on this matter from an economic point of view, with crypto in mind?
why not learn first chinese since they're language is the most spoken dialect in the world because theres a chinese in every part of the world..and chinese is the most dominant country in cryptocurrency so better do it first and those other is next

Yes, Mandarin is definitely a better choice. Thanks to the continuous, rapid growth of China’s economy, Mandarin is deemed the second-most important language in global business behind English. Chinese is also one of the most sought-after foreign languages among English language employers; therefore, proficiency in Mandarin is a stand-out asset that is bound to catch the eye of a potential employer.

I'm belong to Asia continent that being an Asian i should recommend a language that will favor our continent like Japanese and Chinese but instead i will urge you to master the English more in which it is already use as an international language that booth Japanese and Chinese could understand each other in communicating but if you really want to choose then i would like to ask why you say so that these two Asian language are promising in the future? What are their advantages and disadvantages then? If you could make the difference between the two then for sure you could choose for yourself of which language you prefer with.

You would be fine in learning Japanese because some chinese characters would also be derived in there. We just had our basic Nihongo class where we also learned not just the syllables of each characters but also that there is kanji that is an adopted Chinese characters in Japan. You could harmoniously learn both at the same time without having trouble remembering them.

I do not think that the situation in the world will change so much in the next 20-30 years, that English will cease to be an international language for communication. Therefore, I would study Chinese, Japanese only if I work directly in these countries and campaigns. But do I have to start learning these languages? I do not know. Probably, it's time to study Chinese. The huge population of China will increase, the economy grows.

Japan is the most develop country which is number one when comes with the use of crypto. I like to learn their language next to international language which is English that can easily learn. Language is useful to understand the culture of one country and to communicate with them because even there is international language some in the country do not know how to speak. Given the rapidly growing nature of modern technology, I think the importance of language knowledge might fall a bit.

There are instant translation algorthms out there, however the ability to talk to someone in person in his own language could always be a plus.

I would say learn some kind of programming language, nowadays it can be more sufficient.

I will go with Chinese language because China has attained an economical stability far beyond imagination. One can think of finding a future in these industrialized countries and the medium of instruction has been their native languages and no other. Also Japan and Chinese government have started awarding scholarships in different fields to international students and those knowing these languages are selected in the top ones which lead them to economics stability as well. So go for both.

I have voted Chinese, and here's why. I think that the Communist Party of China is on the way out from Chinese power structures. Then after it is replaced by a truly democratic government, China will start thriving like never before. The world will be witnessing a great economic and cultural renaissance of the nation which was restrained for so long by outdated government. The next language you should learn must be JAPANESE. Japan is one of the countries who HEAVILY support crypto. You will have fun in Japan because they have events for bitcoin. Don't even consider Chinese because they don't even support crypto yet. If they in case changed their mind, they will start from scratch unlike Japan who were one of the top countries in terms of bitcoin. The decision is a no brainer if crypto was your focus.

Learning a different language is advantageous in doing business. I would want to learn Japanese, French and German language. These languages are used by the top crypto – friendly countries. It will be easier to express my thoughts if someday I may have the opportunity to interact with them.

I voted for chinese. You could even work as a translator or english tutor. The demand for them is quite high over there. You wouldn't even need to move there, alot of people just do it online.

Well, English is a necessity for those who do not understand it. From the perspective of a native English person, I believe learning another language outside the European language right now is actually a plus and from the list of the OP, and looking at it crypto-wise, I would actually go for Japanese.

I guess their level of embrace to cryptocurrency is far more compared to China. Looking at it, in crypto and business wise though, my heart tends towards China, maybe he should just go for the two if his brain can carry the twisting of tongues.

Chinese as far as I am concerned is going to be a top notch language for me to learn for someone who is actually considering some business perspective. However, the last time I checked, I thought Chinese are really trying hard to learn English so as to be able to blend anywhere internationally. With crypto in mind though, Japanese can actually be better, but with business in mind, it is Chinese. Economically, if you can learn both Chinese and Japanese, it won't be bad.

Well, in my opinion, the language you should learn next is English. Why? Even though you know how to speak english you must widen your english language. And english is our second language its a universal language, wherever you go as long as you can speak english you can communicate  well with other country.
You are out of point. The dude already can speak English and I am sure that is glaring enough to the point that shows he can easily communicate. We are talking about a new language here and not increasing your level of speaking the language you already know and what makes you think he is not fluent with English already ?

I chose Chinese for so many reasons and even though they have been going against the activities surrounding cryptocurrency, I believe a lot will change in the long run.

Asides cryptocurrency which I believe will be a plus, when it comes to industrialism, they are more like topping it and we know that is one thing that the world in general cannot do without. So, why thinking of crypto, you can be thinking of businesses and other aspects as well.

Learning a language is not that easy since you will also look at their cultures and habits. Without their culture, you will not be able to fully understand their language. Also, learning a language depends on what you are aiming for. I've already read an article about this since my cousin has an assignment about languages and he added this to his assignment. Perhaps English is universal, but somehow the language of a particular country is more especially when it comes to doing business.

I think it depends which culture you would prefer to study more, because I think both will be good from a crypto point of view.

Seeing that Japan has a more open attitude to Bitcoin, I would say Japanese is the safer option in terms of your studies paying off.
Yeah, they are pretty both good and I am personally taking a Mandarin course right now and it sure have been hectic which I plan to go the Japanese way once I am done with this. The truth is that these two languages from the crypto point of view and even for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit will really be some pretty good language that would give you an edge and it is going to be more like an asset for anyone and a pretty good investment for anyone who successfully learns them.

Japanese. Since we all are a crypto lover, and Japan has full support in cryptocurrency world, then it's better to know about their language so that when you visit Japan, you can communicate to the people out there effectively.
I would also go with Chinese language if I had to learn some other language other than my mother language because like you said, china is one of the most stable country of the world; socially as well as economically so if we would need to do some work with their people, it would become a little bit easy for us to share our words with them and not miss that opportunity.

If you are able to learn Chinese and Japanese at the same time, you'll have a great asset not only on where you are but also when you go there.
I'm not so sure about China's stand with crypto right now but Japan has an obvious support to it.
That is my take as well after reading the OP's! I believe over time, the Chinese government is really going to come around and probably take a turn in support of cryptocurrency and find a way to also regulate it.

If the OP is really ready to take on the future and he can learn the two just like you have said, then it would really be a great one for him and a huge asset just like you have called it. However, those two languages are not something easy to learn as I have almost gotten may brain ruptured trying to learn Mandarin for a while now. ;D

China may have attained economic stability but based on the OP's preference and the idea surrounding cryptocurrency, the communism in China actually may be a stumbling block to the growth of cryptocurrency in China until further notice.

I learned a lot of things may be changing in their system of governance in the long run, so who really knows? There may be a huge chance and that leaves me with both Chinese and Japanese. As far as I am concerned, there is no harm or danger in learning both of them if the brain is there to take them in.

I feel left out I missed your original post, deisik!

I come from an international non-profit background, and could share that the trend for a new international language was definitely Chinese for commercial opportunities and Arabic for work in the Southern Hemisphere (especially in the past decades taking into consideration refugee-producing countries). This might not seem relevant to the blockchain world if one forgets that it was actually these masses of people that Bitcoin also targeted for "financial revolution" - and already we see evidence in countries like Syria, Iran and Venezuela where Bitcoin's ideal is truly being embraced. These would be 2 languages I'd learn if I were 10 years younger and still had a career, and were more deeply involved in Bitcoin.

I would actually also add Malay (almost unknown but among the fifth most-used language in the world!) that includes a huge unbanked population.

Since your goals are keeping up with economic changes I vote for Chinese. China is the most important country on Earth already and their power is still at the early stage of development.  They are the big fish in a big pond. However you might also consider learning an obscure language and trying to be a big fish yourself. For example, I would guess that someone who knows Swahili is in a good position to get on a business team trying to enter African markets.
Just a thought.

But why this language is preferred because China is going to be super power of the world in near future. So if you would have leant this language that would be profitable for you.

Because china is one of the biggest in our world also one of the most people. Also mandarin language is so popular right now. Also chinese language are have a lot of usage in near future base on economic status. My first choice is japanese because this country have the most advance technology in the world. I think it's really interesting to take part in that process, so I wish you good speed in learning Chinese.
That would absolutely be a very nice one for China. I was actually confused which to vote between China and Japan though, but in the case where this actually becomes a reality, my best bet will go for Chinese. The communism system of government in this country has really affected a lot of their growth and I am sure there should have been more expansion in growth than this if not for that.

Having a democratic system of government will really change a lot of things for them and that should actually bring about the speedy tap into the blockchain technology as well as cryptocurrency at large in the long run. Would be one worth speaking.

Chinese is one of the best languages to learn. It is not because it is easy, it is because China is ready to become the number one country in the world. Therefore, understanding Chinese gives us more opportunities to work with Chinese people and earn a good money. However, other languages are also great. If you have plenty of time, why not try to learn all of them. Knowledge about languages gives people more respect. The more language you know, the more people willing to work with you

English is a must, nothing operates only in native language anymore. With that said, Chinese will be needed because they are almost a half of world population. Japanese is useful if you want to look for a job in the tech industry. European languages are suppressed by English, so these two are a better choice.

You are right, in this case the countries of China and Japan are known as the countries that give the most influence for the world economy. Both countries are proven to be able to master various lines of industry ranging from communications, computers, automotive, to electronic goods. Most of the production goods spread in the world now comes from the country of rising sun and bamboo curtains. Many experts even predict China and Japan can overtake the United States as the world's superpower.
What makes China so successful to build its country in a short time, this's not separated from the mastery of science and technology. In the previous year China was ranked second only to the United States, especially in terms of the use of cryptocurrency and Japan isn't included therein. But the use of cryptocurrency in Japan has been declared legal especially bitcoin, in fact there are already some companies that pay their employees with bitcoin.

Try the Dutch language, because their country is one of the bitcoin-friendly success countries, bitcoin transactions there have been declared legal and can be used as a means of payment.

Well, that’s a good question to think of. Japanese and Chinese languages are both very promising and useful in terms of economics and especially cryptos. So as a person who’ve been studying both of them for a solid time now I’d suggest you to try and start learning them. I think that soon you’ll understand which is easier and better for you. Good luck!

In my case, I'm not interested on learning these languages and pretty much prefer to master the English language. Since English is my country's second language, and it is an international one I feel that I will have a better use of it than other languages. Another this is that, I'm sure that other people from the stated countries are also learning English so we will still have a way of communicating to them.

It is not the most spoken language in the world, rather it is one of the most spoken languages. When it comes to which language is the most spoken language in the world, the number one on the list is English ;English is the most spoken language and is very important that you learn it. By the way, why is nobody talking about Spanish and French, lol? Those two are well spoken in various countries, especially French. Consider French the second most spoken language.

Not really, if you combine first and second language speakers, below the ranking.

1) English
2) Mandarin Chinese
3) Hindustani (Hindi/Urdu)
4) Spanish
5) Arabic
6) French

This is a serious question and I'm not kidding. I'm not very interested in European languages like German or French, or whatever, as I think languages like Chinese and Japanese are more promising and rewarding in terms of both usage and money in the nearest future. Personally, I'm more inclined toward Japanese (that's why I'm not decided yet), though I understand that Chinese may be a better choice for the time being and years to come

So what is your opinion on this matter from an economic point of view, with crypto in mind?

Chinese language should be.  China is one of the powerful country and silent.  If there is a subject where you can learn that language during grade school to high-school,   I would be fluent for sure.  Hope,  they added in as a subject in school.

Bitcoin - Language of Money can be an interesting language to learn as a next step
Lol. We are talking about real language here mate unless you want to go learn some coding language. Nevertheless, that cannot be used for communication, so unless you are lost to what the OP is asking, then I am not sure if you have anything tangible with that.

I did not choose any option though because I was stuck with learning Chinese and Japanese, based on so many reasons that make the two of them important, but if I am to choose one first, I will choose Japanese, since crypto related, they just seem to embrace technology pretty fast.

Chinese language is hard to study because I am also joined in Chinese class in two years ago but I am still studying the 1 grade it is more difficult in other country peoples. So better some other languages are useful to everyone. But I am always appreciate the Chinese language because all the Chinese citizens are always speak in Chinese only but most of the countries are not follow the country language.
No language is that difficult to learn. If kids can learn and know it, adults too can. Except where the adult is a dull or empty brain. Do not be lazy man. Get up and be on the go. What about those who learn Zulu in Africa. Do you think it is simple? The answer is no.

When I first came to China to the city of Shanghai, I was surprised by the behavior of people. Some Chinese of a young age approached me and spoke English. I asked why they do it? They said they just wanted to talk. I was worried, is not this the same Chinese 'divorce' of a naive tourist? It turned out that no, just talked for five minutes and parted. Only then my friends explained to me that in China, knowing the language is an opportunity to get a good job. For them, knowledge of English is a voyage to life. It happens that poor families spend the last money on language courses for their child. But the opportunity to communicate live rarely. The Chinese are not shy and approach passers-by foreigners in order to practice their English. The essence of this story is that I believe that the English language remains the psychologically international language. But I think that because of the prospects for the rapid development of the Chinese people, the next language for me will be Chinese. Here are some facts why I think so, the data taken from the Internet: China is the second largest economy in the world. China is one of Russia's largest trading partners. China is the most populous country in the world. In China, more than 1.38 billion people live. Learning the Chinese language opens the way to various important areas, such as politics, economics, history or archeology. And then, to learn Chinese is simply impossible in isolation from Chinese culture and people. Chinese civilization has a rich heritage, consisting of novels, stories, poems, drama, and in recent times, the heritage of Chinese culture has been supplemented by cinematography. This is my personal opinion, what to do to you, you decide only. For general development, it will be useful to learn as many languages as possible.

Chinese is the most widely spoken language in the world - spoken by 1.2 billion people (around 16%). (to compare, Japanese around 128m). Choose Mandarin, it is more global.

Besides that China is becoming the next supperpower:

- with the largest population
- second largest economy by nominal GDP, and the world's largest economy by purchasing power
- the largest standing army in the world
- with 98 companies in the Fortune 500 list
- with more billionaires than the US
- is a huge investor in the US, owning about 5% of US debt
- its digital payments market is 50 times larger than that of the US

China is making massive trade deals, developing political and economic ties with many countries, has global influence, pioneers in science, biomedicine, engineering, manufacturing, IT and AI.
Its major achievements include the launch of the Tiangong-2 space lab, the Jiaolong deep-sea manned submersible, the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), launch of dark matter probe satellite Wukong and the quantum science satellite Mozi, and the test flight for airliner C919.

Why are you still thinking?  ;D ;D ;D

It’s all up to you that what language you should learn or not and your justification for posing this topic in this topic is also not justified, what I mean is that you need not to know that local language of that country in which you are trading and if we talk apart from bitcoin then also there are many people who are trading internationally without knowing the local language of that country.

I couldn't agree more with you because Japan is always the leading country in technology and learning Japanese can help you get to know better about their innovations. I know this may sound irrelevant in this forum and also quite personal but to me, Japanese has a smooth and soft feel to it and it makes me kinda relaxed every time I listen to it. This is one of the main reason why I like Japanese more than other languages but anyways, this is just my opinion.

Mostly Chinese, I don’t really know why but I think you should just go for Chinese, maybe because it is the most popular language or something and most of the people in this forum also supports that you should go for Chinese based on the poll that you set up, so that will probably be a good decision to make.

And I just forgot to add that Chinese translators are always in demand these days and you’re likely to get a job in that area if you’re working as a freelancer.

Nowadays there is a lot of automation and therefore quality matters rather than the quantity. In the near future, the European and American economies will collapse, as a result of the unlimited influx of third world immigrants. Japan is limiting the number of foreign immigrants and therefore it will remain as a major economic power in the future.

I think languages are important. It does not matter which one is the most beautiful. The most important thing is which one can help me earn money. So economically speaking, Chinese, should be your next language. In some private schools, Chinese is mandatory. Rich people teach Chinese to their daughters. You can check by yourself. All the actual students in political sciences are learning Chinese. The elite is learning Chinese. Therefore, I believe it will not be useless. Moreover, languages are always useful. Either for business or simple communication. They are always able to do something positive.

For that reason, as a developing country in terms of production, technology and economy, China came to mind and I favored the Chinese version. Nowadays, English is now accepted as normal, so I think everyone should learn a third language.

Personally, I'm more inclined toward Japanese (that's why I'm not decided yet), though I understand that Chinese may be a better choice for the time being and years to come

So what is your opinion on this matter from an economic point of view, with crypto in mind?
You have an exceptionally sensible inquiry in this leading body of the discussion. It is extremely the inquiry to think as I am seeing that Chinese are becoming speedier in their advancement in financial matters and they are centering their own particular dialect so on the off chance that anybody will need to include in the economy of Chinese then they need to take in their dialect.

While alternate dialects which you displayed isn't much essential to learn on the grounds that these nations frequently utilize English dialect for to keep up global dialect and they learn English in their institutes to remain with the world.

Since English language is our international language then why don't we expand our knowledge with this language. English language would be the way to interact with other people around the world and I think Japan and china is in the process of learning English language so we need to wait that people around can speak English so that we can trade around the world without any language barrier.

Their are a lot of Languages all over the world it is up to us if we are really interested and wants to learn on it. But in my own I agree on you mate, since English is the international language no need to be worry and find any languages to learn although it is add on knowldge but the most important thimg is to practice the English language well through writing and speaking for the good of everyone.

Chinese people are really good in keeping up their money and profit and if this concerns you then you must know how to speak in chinese. As we all know that chinese people are not good in speaking english because of their language which they have been used to. Yet these chinese people are somehow good in some stuff especially with technology so if i were to ask what language would be good then definitely it would chinese or Japanese language will do.

In my opinion, it is preferred over English, because it is a popular language all over the world. But if you talk about economic topics, as you say, the markets of developed countries in Asia as Japan and China is developing far more than other European and American countries. If you have been to Japan, you will see how strong the economy of the country, from income, living standards, GDP, stocks ... especially bitcoin has helped the Japanese economy increase the stock market. And China is the second-largest economy in the world, with a steady economic growth. China is pushing for wage increases for workers and pollution. In addition, China is stepping up relations with China. And in the future, when the economy of Europe and the United States no longer holds the exclusive, China will dominate the world economy. So you should study both. 2 Japanese and Chinese now to prepare for the future

I think Chinese will be more useful in two kinds. China is a very big and powerful country economically. Many countries and companies are trading with China. People who speak Chinese in the coming years will have more job opportunities. It's a for real economy. In terms of crypto, it is for now. Crypto forbidden at this time. But blockchain will become one of the focal points of tekoloj. And eventually the crypto will be more moderate. They will have a huge impact when they accept the crypt. I think that Chinese is more necessary at this stage.

If you are able to learn Chinese and Japanese at the same time, you'll have a great asset not only on where you are but also when you go there.
I'm not so sure about China's stand with crypto right now but Japan has an obvious support to it.

It is good advantage of learning both language because you can know on what happen on their country.  China ban bitcoin but they have a large supply of ICO on their country.  They not want to support anything because I think they are selfish, they want to get their want and to copy on what the good creation was made.

all the decisions to choose it are on your own, according to your beliefs you will learn a language that will often be used later. I think it would be nice to be able to handle it all, but the most important thing to learn and continue to focus on one language first until really memorized and smoothly just stepped into the next language to learn.

if your point of view is the economy, i suggest you to learn chinese language, because china economy is booming right now, china is a rising global superpower. Over the last 35 years, China has transformed itself from an impoverished third world country to become what is arguably the largest global economy.

During this same period, China has opened itself up to the world, encouraging foreign investment and economic cooperation. Of course, to be this sort of bridge, there is one skill you must have: fluent Mandarin Chinese. Due to the lack of people in the Western business world who can speak both Chinese and English, there’s a huge demand for these skills, and this can of course mean very lucrative wages.

English proficiency should learn next after country language cause this is the basis of the universal language for everyday conversation, and this key can open lot of exchanging words even they are in Europe, or in any part, maybe its true that Japan and China have a huge capabilities of currency but it doesn't mean that you will obligated to follow them, try to figure out that if China's currency only prefer for people who eligible for there dialect, then how the currencies demand grow immediately.

I must prefer to learn  a fluent english and next to it is japanese.  Today  english is the most in demand language  all over the world. Different country learn how to speak english specially for those who are in the field of business. Actually i consider myself that im not fluent in english thats why i must learn more. Its an advantage if you know different languages.
Before learning any kind of language, the first thing which you need to look for is that what are the places which you have too visit in future. Based on the countries which you are going to visit, you can then plan to learn those languages. However, if you go for learning of English, French, Chinese, you will then be able to get maximum advantage as you will be able to interact with majority of the people.

And most investor nowadays would want a Korean, Japanese and mostly Chinese investors because if you convinced those people, you will see the good boost in the coin's potential plus the ability of the project to keep the investor's trust in the project. Chinese is one of the most popular languagues. Its popular because the country itself has so many people. So it makes it a lot of people using the language. Its not because it is a great language so many people use it.
I would suggest something else that is great for business purpose or use in many countries. Like Fresh, Spanish are used in many different countries in different continents. That would be something i consider.

China has an important role, in the world economic sector. This will be an advantage for us if we want to learn the language of the country, because almost all sectors in life will directly intersect with the economic sector. And there's no doubt that some jobs also require human resources who have the ability to speak excellent Chinese. Usually, they ask for the value of HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) the Chinese language test.
I think even though the Chinese government ever banned the use of cryptocurrencies especially Bitcoin, but still the enthusiasm of its citizens against this cryptocurrency can still be relied on.

If I am private, I prefer to learn Chinese. because I see China is a big and developed country, has a population and tourist attractions are many and interesting to visit. If I can speak Chinese, then I will easily communicate with Chinese people, if one day I visit in that country.

Yes i agree I would prefer Chinese language too. Every part of the world now has chinese and we know that they are business minded people so it would be better if we can interact with them easily. It would be a good to learn there language to avoid language barrier. I’ try that myself too because I find it very useful an alternative language aside from english.

It’s better to learn Chinese, if you’re fluent in Chinese you will be easier to learn Japanese because Chinese is the base of Japanese language.
Since English language is our international language then why don't we expand our knowledge with this language. English language would be the way to interact with other people around the world and I think Japan and china is in the process of learning English language so we need to wait that people around can speak English so that we can trade around the world without any language barrier.

He wants to expand his language skills, and you need to know Japanese isn’t very fluent in English especially the elders. And using the language of the country can make you accepted more by the locals.

It all depends on where you are and how much money you can spend. For instance, you can learn English everywhere and from almost everyone. Finding a tutor isn't difficult and isn't expensive when it comes to common languages like English. It's going to be the other way round with finding a Chinese tutor, especially outside China. The time is also important. While you can learn basic English in a month, learning Chinese will take years.

Well, it is true, but in myself, before learning another language make first sure that you really understand your own language.

While this note may look as inconsequential or even somewhat derogatory, there is a certain grain of truth in it. Actually, when you start learning another language, you begin to understand that you don't know your own language very well. It becomes glaringly obvious when you see some translations made by the so-called "native speakers", even into their native language. You often see that they don't know very well the language they are assumed to speak fluently, i.e. their native one

But the fact is learning another language helps you become more proficient in both languages

Yes I agree of that we need to learn to speak the universal language cause if you go to other country English-language we spoken so that we need to that. Yes it's hard to learn speak. Yes there's nothing wrong to try to learn other languages but for me we need learn first to speak English.

It's very nice to lean many languages, if you have skills in multi-lingual speaking it is better ofcourse in bilingual, but i think bilingual is ok in the sense that you know how to speak your native language and the international language which is english. In my own opinion I will just learn those 2 languages deeper.

I agree on you mate, it really meeds to expand the learnungs that you have got and learned so that you can be able to achieve the ideas that others has. In learning English has its own pattern that we need to follow or kinda rules. Many people would always skip because they think it is not needed.

If you are able to learn Chinese and Japanese at the same time, you'll have a great asset not only on where you are but also when you go there.

In my opinion, it's better to learn Chinese first, learn them at the same time can make you confused. Indeed both use kanji, but it could be that he can’t differentiate the Japanese and Chinese language.
I'm not so sure about China's stand with crypto right now but Japan has an obvious support to it.

Yeah you are right that Chinese language has its values but not for trading and economy. Many people in my country doing business with China but no one can speak chines. It means that it is not necessary to learn the language of the country in which you want to start business or trade. Language is not concerned here; the main issue is to improve your economy by doing business with other countries.

I don’t think you should be asking us that question. That’s a question that you should answer by yourself. You know your life and how you live it and you also know places you go to and the kind of jobs you do.

If it’s a job that has to do with translation or some sort of thing, then I will suggest that you go for the language that is always being demanded for or so. Just go for that one that seems important to you, that’s why I said it is not a question for us to answer.

As you might know, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. I for one don't see the reasoning following which you came to the conclusion that this topic has nothing to do with cryptocurrencies. In case you failed to notice, there are local boards here and quite a lot of them at that, so it is definitely not an English-only forum, by any means. Dare tell theymos to remove them all? Besides, if you peeked into the Services board right now (unlikely but still), you would see that someone is desperately looking for a Chinese translator and, surprisingly, it has everything to do with cryptocurrencies and indirectly with my topic as well. You can go there and check for yourself if that is your point. Though I seriously doubt that as you seem to be looking more for a fight than a discussion. But we are in different weight classes, and you are not in a position to challenge me, sorry

Please go for Chinese. China is an emerging economies and is also likely that China topple the USA in both economy and political power in the nearest future. Your knowledge of Chinese would be invaluable.

in my opinion the language we have to learn after English is Chinese. because the Chinese language is one of the most used languages. and the Chinese language is not only used in one country but in many countries such as Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. then many items are made in China so if we understand the Chinese language. then we will easily learn the item. and by learning Chinese, we can add friends. so learning Chinese is a good thing.

If you are somewhere from the western countries, than learning an asian language can be a very good idea. I personally learned English, german, spanish, would be nice to know some asian language too, but do not feel the strength, that I can do it, seems to be very difficult to me with these different characters, but very useful indeed.

I think learning English is more important, because on this topic everyone also uses English, if we can't use English properly, we will be considered spam.
similar to me, I am currently learning English and practicing it in this forum by doing some posts as my assignment in crypto.

I don’t know about the other language you mentioned, and I have never heard about it before. The other two languages (Chinese and Japanese) are the ones I know about and I will recommend that you learn Chinese, cause it’s going to be more helpful, you can even get a job with it. There are lots of companies that needs people that can transcript from English to Chinese.

And also if we encountered maybe a chinese if we know of their language we can communicate of them as well. Actually in this world our international language we almost use was English ill think it was better also.

Indeed, Chinese is actually more useful when its popularity is very high and that can help us have more space to grow, getting a good job is an easy thing, many people have rated learning Chinese as easier than Japanese. However, I also would not underestimate Japanese, after we finish learning Chinese, we can continue to learn Japanese, one advantage for us is that Japanese has a lot of similarities to Chinese, so we will learn it very quickly

It should be chinese because other country people like Japan are good in English langage so you can survive it without learning their original language but in China most of the learning are only allowed in their mother tongue only so they may not good in english if they are from their native country.

China is now the second economy in the world. Moreover, in contrast to Japan, China shows stable GDP growth at the level of 6-7% per year. I think that it’s more promising to learn Chinese right now. Moreover, China is actively pursuing its economic expansion throughout the world. People who know chinese will have much more prospects in the future. However, it should be noted that many companies are developing portable versions of translators used by AI.

Dealing with another culture enables people to gain a deeper understanding of their culture. As the second most widely learned foreign language after English, I choose to learn French because I find it very challenging and fun. Not only that but learning another language enriches the mind and opens up new horizons for both personal and professional. Creativity and skills are increased with the study of foreign languages.

Lol, those countries you mentioned have their own languages and they don’t speak Chinese. Apart from English the next language we should learn should be French. There are lots of countries that speaks French, because French colonized a lot of countries even in Africa. After French you can then talk about Chinese, then Japanese and Spanish.

Today, we see that Japan occupies one of the leading positions in the world in its excellent relation to crypto currencies. Crypto currencies are recognized here as a financial instrument. So the desire to learn Japanese is fully justified.
But with the Chinese language is not as clear as it might seem at first glance. The Chinese economy is developing very rapidly, and its influence on the whole world is becoming more and more. I think that in the future, China will change its attitude to crypto currencies. Just now they are probably setting the stage for this. The blockchain system itself is supported by the Chinese government. As for crypto currencies, for example, they support NEO.

PS: I admire your desire and aspiration!

Are you a language lover? In fact, I think both Japanese and Chinese can learn, both of which are giants in Asia. They have all contributed to mankind. If you are learning a language that better communicates with the world in the future, then you must be Chinese. You know that the whole world is Chinese, so the long-term understanding of Chinese must be better.

I really want to learn Chinese or Japanese but it seems to be a really hard task. Don't even know what to start with and how much time it will take to learn any of those two languages. But when I'll have some more spare time, I'll definitely try.

It depends on the person. For some guys, Asian languages seem very simple, while the others will never understand them. I know a guy from Europe, who speaks both of these languages, and it took him only 2 years to learn them.

Since English language is our international language then why don't we expand our knowledge with this language. English language would be the way to interact with other people around the world and I think Japan and china is in the process of learning English language so we need to wait that people around can speak English so that we can trade around the world without any language barrier.

I agree with you. Instead of learning a new language why don't expand our vocabulary in English sinxe it is the universal language of ours. Howecer I am not saying that learning a nee language is bad its just that since English is commonly use in all aspect then I think it is better if you widen your knowledge in here afterall you English is the one that uses in businesses.

if our goal is to learn a language for economic purposes in the future, world economic growth now rests on Asia, for example Indian and Indonesian Chinese, so we can choose what is most suitable for the business we will pursue, I think one of the three the language has the potential to become a world language because its speakers are very large and the economy is in that country is very fast developing, we can see the huge potential for the development of bitcoin in landmark Asia if this potential can be explored, this is just an idea ..

When in doubt always pay attention to the figure. Now every third person on earth or from India or from China. The more people understand you the more useful the language you will learn. I think this answers your question.
I think it depends on the business target that you are going to do, for example you want to do business in Asia, I think China is a good choice, and of course the Chinese language is mandatory for you to study, all depends on your individual goals, because our answers are certainly very diverse, the most important is the most profitable for our business in the future.

This is a very interesting look to the topic of languages from the economic side. I speak several languages myself and I have also wondered about the economic approach. For sure Chinese and Japanese is a very interesting way, but for me it's too big challenge. I think Scandinavian languages are much more achievable and with a large perspective for the future.
