Title: FreeWallet.org - Racketeers of personal and financial data , and scammers .
Post by: TNM1WPCK on June 09, 2018, 01:07:41 AM
Hi , everybody . Today i will tell you about that as the FreeWallet.org service extorts information of personal and financial character from the users . I have begun to use this service quite recently . To me he was somehow recommended by friends on NEM Community chat - NEMberia 2.0 in Telegram messenger . I was told that it is excellent service for exchange of NEM (XEM) cryptocurrency for BitCoin (BTC) cryptocurrency . Well and as i am a NEM stakeholder , i have decided to try to begin to use this service ... And now i will tell you what it for me has ended .

I was registered at them on service quite easily . From you nothing is required except your e-mail , to remember the password and to tie your account to Google 2FA . Now it for anybody isn't difficult . Generally convenient service . But not everything has appeared so simply ... ::)

I have tried to enter to them the first deposit for the sum of 10 NEM (XEM) . A deposit was with use of multisig technology . There CoSigners sign your transaction and still necessary number of signatures transaction won't be gathered anywhere yours won't leave NEM (XEM) of the address . In this plan i very much like NEM (XEM) . Reliably . Safely . Well it is fine , we will pass these moments about NEM (XEM) . It is about the FreeWallet.org service also volume as they arrive with NEM (XEM) Stakeholders ...

Generally i have sent him the first trial deposit for the sum of 10 NEM of (XEM) . There were cases to me on the example of the HitBTC exchange earlier that NEM (XEM) multisig deposits at them just weren't enlisted and trials at me with them about it go since December , 2017 to this day . So still my situation was solved nothing . NEM (XEM) haven't been still enlisted to me on an internal deposit of this exchange . Here left the same way . Also multisig NEM (XEM) a deposit hasn't been enlisted and i have opened at them ticket about it . Promised to make transfer once in the future , but now it has become clear that never they will return me these means . Therefore today i also tell about it happened to me to warn about that as they will treat also you in a similar situation .

After it was promised to me once there in the future (never means) to enlist on my deposit 10 NEM (XEM) i without paying to it attention i began to work with this service for exchange of NEM (XEM) for BitCoin (BTC) ...

The first day of work with service was more or less normal . Slowly there is an exchange of NEM (XEM) for BitCoin (BTC) through them , but here it is necessary to reconcile to it . To accelerate this process as i have understood it won't turn out in any way owing to the fact that 25 confirmations in NEM (XEM) network are required from them .

For the second day of work with service i have reconciled to the fact that exchange at them goes very slowly . I have adapted and it became easier for me .

But here for the third day of work with service have unexpectedly begun some strange at them in work of a problem . All withdrawals and exchanges have ceased to be made absolutely . In the account there were strange inscriptions in the form of news that withdrawals of some cryptocurrency in which list there was neither NEM (XEM) , nor BTC don't work for them ...

I have waited day . I have waited the second day ... Well problems at service in work , they think something there eliminate . I have given them time . On balances at me in the account the sum of equivalent 40000+ NEM (XEM) . But time went and changes any weren't . Instead of a solution i have received from them on the e-mail the letter here of such contents :

https://pp.userapi.com/c834103/v834103697/15c471/vsGUuvyBsUU.jpg

All necessary screenshots inside from the client have been sent them . Here i won't show it as it is my personal financial information and i very much care for that that it remained in secret because it is about confidentiality . It doesn't mean that those people who don't want to open the information of financial character any shady characters . No , these people support anonymity and confidentiality . Therefore choose such services as FreeWallet.org in which from you it isn't required to undergo at once at registration the procedure of full identification . This service positions itself it . After the procedure of registration to the user the right at once to start use of service without passing of the procedure of identification before is granted .

Further from them such answer has followed here :

https://pp.userapi.com/c834103/v834103697/15c47a/A8G0kThxbL8.jpg

All these necessary screenshots proving purity of means me to them have been sent . Here i won't show all this . But i have proved to them that means which are at me they clean and all this is easily proved .

Further from them such answer has followed here :

https://pp.userapi.com/c834103/v834103697/15c48a/tPXf5g3zHwY.jpg

What i have answered of course with flat refusal to provide such information to some service which will disappear with all valuable information on me in a year or two :

https://pp.userapi.com/c834103/v834103697/15c493/Pj-NctC9dG4.jpg

What these racketeers and scammers have answered me in style Ctrl+C , Ctrl+V :

https://pp.userapi.com/c834103/v834103697/15c49c/brIDDN0ZZYw.jpg

After their such answer i didn't begin to communicate any more with these racketeers and scammers which steal your clean lawful means which are easily proved , then hold them demanding from you to prove to be it and to tell where do you live that this information then to transfer to shady characters who with pleasure will kill you then . All crimes in the world are committed always on aiming . And who is a tipper-of ? Who transfers confidential information on you to hands of the corrupted officials and bandits in shoulder straps ? Similar FreeWallet.org give all this to them to hands services . Therefore in this situation at me the iron principle not of bit of data about similar services about which i know nothing and nobody knows anything about them . But the handwriting which has been shown me from these people very much reminds handwriting of murderers . They collect on you data and then will come to kill you and to plunder . You give all information on yourself in their charge . Therefore be careful . At me on still all ...

I will keep you informed events . I will try to invite here their representative who is present here at a forum .

What happened::
Beware freewallet is a scam wallet, if you deposit a large quantity they will lock your wallet and ask for information and never stop asking for more and more information. Do not use freewallet and I recommend to withdraw all funds as soon as possible; I do not know how to recover my coins from freewallet its been two months with this issue.

This is taken from your website,

Quote
"When we notice suspicious activity in customers’ accounts we immediately block them for security reasons.
In accordance with the AML policy to which Freewallet subscribes, we kindly ask you to go through the account verification procedure
"

What gives you the right to block users if you're only a wallet provider ?

As a wallet service provider, it's our mission to ensure the security of users' assets. Blocking accounts in case of suspicious activity is temporary; as soon as users pass the user verification procedure and we make sure it's the account owners who performed the operations in question on their accounts, they are unblocked. It's a standard procedure, and many Freewallet users have already passed it.

You are one of a kind crypto wallet.  What other crypto wallet blocks user funds ?

If you're operating under KYC/AML laws then you MUST ask all users to provide IDs BEFORE they can use a wallet and deposit funds, don't you?

If you're not an exchange, why do you need KYC/AML clearance ?

Who exactly asks for your KYC/AML compliance ?

Hi Bitcoin Talk community! I'm a reader for couple of months, but never had anything interesting to say until today. This is a sad story, but I decided to register and describe it, to warn all the others from using Freewallet. But let's start at the beginning.

Freewallet is my first wallet, since I started to mine, buy and sell cryptocurrencies. Some time ago I tried once to use their exchange, but my coins disappeared for couple of days so I said to my self - never again. Since then I always use bittrex to exchange coins. I have several different miners, so I'm mining LTC, ETH, BCC. As you surely know, bitmain accept only BCC for most batches. BCC used to be in red colour for last couple of weeks, so I keep my mined coins on freewallet. I known, that 1,5 hour that I have to pay for order on bitmain is enough to send coins to bittrex, exchange them to bcc, send back to freewallet and pay, so I had no reason to keep all my coins in BCC. I was waiting for couple of weeks for new batch of S9. Finally it appeared on Wednesday morning so I put my order, sent all coins from freewallet to bitrex, made payout from BCC pool, exchange the other currencies and sent back to freewallet. I know that some time ago freewallet sent e-mail with information about new BCC addresses, but in FAQ they wrote that all addresses still work and on my app I still saw only old address. I didn't know if the e-mail with new address wasn't scam, so it was obvious for me that it's safer to use the old one (according to the FAQ). Unfortunately none of the transfers (from bittrex and from BCC mining pool) didn't arrive. My order on bitmain has expired, so i checked on blockchain explorer both transfers. Both have a lot of confirmation and wallet ballance was updated (including those transfers). In this situation I decided to contact Freewallet support. First answer came after few hours. It was typical copy-paste answer saying that it's my fault that I sent coins to old address, they will recover them for me, but i have to wait "for some time". I answered, that I followed FAQ that old address should work and sent them screenshot from the freewallet app showing the old address as my receiving BCC, explaining that it wasn't my fault and I need my coins to put another order which is very important for me (it was extremely hard to buy S9 for last couple of weeks). What was freewallet reaction? Exactly the same copy-paste answer. I tried to write to them several times since then, but they didn't answer. Since then:

- 3 S9 batches gone away
- BCC lost about 40% of it's value and I cannot do anything with my coins
- they totally ignore all my support messages
- i have no idea when I will receive my refund

I'm just waiting to get the refund and definitely never again will use freewallet and my advise to everyone is to not use this scam!

Sorry to hear you're disappointed!
Looks like the user verification procedure has been launched for your account. It means your transactions have been temporarily suspended for security purposes.
Please update this thread with your user ID so that we could prioritize the investigation on your support request.

FreeWallet has been a suspected exit scam for a very long time, sorry to hear about your loss OP but you should really have looked up this issue before you try any wallet service. To be fair, they did explain this move last year (the big movement to a single wallet) but as you can see from Google and this forum, a lot of other issues have happened. Just use a proper wallet that lets you and only you control your private key. Google wallets before you start using them.

Let me tell you my story about freewallet.org

I have deposited 500'000 DGB 11th of January to exchnage it to BTC. That was my critical mistake to use this service.
The exchange operation was failed, and support told me that there was transaction errors and my funds are refunded to my account.
I've tried to withdraw all my DGB from freewallet.org to my cold wallet. And since 11th of January I can not process any operation, there is only failed status on each with such error: Error in transaction fields.

Support team are just talking about giving them more time to help me, but do nothing.

Here is my deposit: https://digiexplorer.info/tx/0b087baf6f474cc1ef1bb81f89656c56b1520a0a8e4841c52d9aa08f6cb27345 (https://digiexplorer.info/tx/0b087baf6f474cc1ef1bb81f89656c56b1520a0a8e4841c52d9aa08f6cb27345)

Don't use this wallet, guys. They are scammers!

Unfortunately, you have to pass KYC in almost any wallet and crypto exchange… I’d like not to have it but in these days it has to be done in any decent service.

Here is my deposit: https://digiexplorer.info/tx/0b087baf6f474cc1ef1bb81f89656c56b1520a0a8e4841c52d9aa08f6cb27345 (https://digiexplorer.info/tx/0b087baf6f474cc1ef1bb81f89656c56b1520a0a8e4841c52d9aa08f6cb27345)

Hi Sam, I am so sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We sent a reply on Jan 14 with more details, the security algorithm has been triggered. Could you please give it a look and get back to us by email? We would love to assist you in restoring access to your account ASAP. Thank you so much!

Some update here, here is freewallet's answer:

Hello Sam,

As you can see, we have temporarily blocked withdrawals on your account. For security reasons, we ask you to pass through the verification procedure. We ask you to provide the following info:

- A clear closeup photo of your identification document (an international ID or a driver’s license in English) being held in your hand. Scanned images are not accepted;
- The utility bill payment receipt or your bank card statement where we can see the residence address (country, city, building and so on). We should also see your name in this document. Information should be in English.
- A photo of yourself in front of the image "Attention" (attached below) on your computer monitor (if you use a web version of Freewallet) or near your mobile device with your app open so that we were able to see your user ID.

You can find more information about the terms and conditions of use here.
Please find more details on our privacy policy here.

Please note that you agreed to the terms and conditions listed above when registering an account in our service.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,
Peter,
Technical Engineer, Freewallet
You can send your queries to our Bot in Telegram and Skype.

I'm not going to share my personal information with company who wants to get it by this way: just loking my money.
You stole it. Just send my DGB to that addres from which it came. And the question will be closed!

I want to resolve this issue publicity.

Dear Sam,

We've never stolen our users' money. Please note that we have temporarily blocked withdrawals on your account. It's crucial for you to pass through AML/KYC procedures and provide accurate and truthful information.
As per our terms and conditions accepted by you, we are entitled to conduct user verification procedure.

Once you complete the procedure, you will obtain your funds immediately.
We'd appreciate if you could send the requested information.

Thank you in advance!

You are not talking people about what you doing while wallet registration process.
You must say that your KYC is neccesary.
You must list your limits, how much I can deposit to do not "trigger your security algorythms". Sounds funny, really.

So, if I could not send such personal info, you just will own my money?! :o

Thank you for your message.

When registering to Freewallet, our users should read and then accept Terms of Use. Otherwise you will not be able to sign in.

We don't have limits on how much you can deposit to your account. The internal automatic security algorithm was triggered for your account because the suspicious activity was detected. You can find more information about this procedure in our Terms and conditions of use.

For security reasons, we ask you to pass through the verification procedure. All you need is just to provide us with the requested details to verify you as the owner of the account.

Please note that the verification procedure is in place to help us prevent illegal and criminal financial activity as well as to make sure no one has unauthorized access to your account. We are not able to complete this procedure until you send the required information.

Thank you for understanding!

You did not answer to my question. What if I'm unable to send you my bills, ID, whatever...
You will own my money forever? Right?

The KYC procedure must be complited during registration process, or like during deposit.
But now, when you are holding MY money, YOU ask me to verify that I am a man who put just a name in your wallet???
There is no other information about me! How's your verification works?! Any man with the same name can get an access to my wallet?! Really?!
The KYC must wotk in different way! Send me back my money to that address from which it came to you!

Dear Sam,

Please note that your account is not blocked. You can check that your funds are safely stored in your Freewallet account. No one (except you) can own the funds in your account and get access to your wallet!

We want to emphasize that withdrawals are temporarily blocked for security reasons. You will be able to transfer your coins after passing the verification procedure.

As you can see, we are fully committed to the quick resolution of your issue.

Thank you!

My personal information has been send to your support email address from my personal box. Waiting.

Hi Sam! Congratulations! Withdrawals have been fully restored in your account.

Let us know if you experience any issues  :)

Yes, I have one more issue: I can not verify my email address, there is no verification link in my inbox.
