 ??? ??? Although bitcoin has been on the rise for the past few days, altcoins seem to have stalled. Between altcoins and bitcoin, what is a good medium term investment  ???

Bitcoin is good investment now but not the best one, I would invest in coins that will be listed on coinbase because they have broader vision.

Never choose between two, for me today you can put 60% in btc then 40% for alts but always remember  divide the 40% into different coin for safety. you can also put 10% in ustd when btc reach 10k to 12k$

My take on the bitcoin is always positive but when it comes to the investment then it is always long time investment. Always remember that bitcoin can never give you huge profits in short period of times which you are expecting it today. I guess altcoins work better for you in such period, there is no guarantee however you can always have some faith in it and keep having little income stream all the time. In this pump and dump situation though your altcoins are down then also they are best because they have higher % of going up as compared to the bitcoin.

Bitcoin is listed in most of the sites. But no one is think practical because Bitcoin is a promising platform for long term investment so future possibilities of this coin is safe. some altcoins also safe to invest on altcoin but few altcoins are make big profit in short term investment so right platforms is depends on current demand of Crypto platform.

I also agree to that since bitcoin has a good uptrend although we are still not sure if this is our long waited bull run but still it gives a broght hope for crypto holders.

If you're an amateur here then I would suggest that just go with bitcoin because of it's lesser risk. We all know bitcoin is the most established crypto and everyone is certain that it will still rise. Besides altcoins are just depending their movements in bitcoin however not all altcoins pump when bitcoin increase, they're stagnant in their place so it would be better to go in a safe side.

I think that altcoin has now very attractive prices. But buying them is very risky.

In the bear market I do not think it's a good time to start investing in the middle term. Bear market has been in since the beginning of this year and until now, bitcoin prices or altcoin prices continue to show the lowest price point. But for long-term investment when you start in the bear market there are still many possibilities to gain profit, whether in bitcoin or altcoin.

I believe that at this time you should only invest in bitcoin, can see that the market is fluctuating continuously, bitcoin prices are constantly falling, but altcoin prices are falling very deep and I think if bitcoin prices are the price of altcoin will continue to fall deeper. So I think that at this point you should only invest in bitcoin to reduce risk.

Altcoins have been in a downtrend for the past few days, though it seems they've started to recover, I'd say it is a good time to buy some cheap coins before it's too late.

About BTC, current price is looking good (7400), there's a chance that a bullish trend will kick in in full force once we go past the 7500-7600 resistance level so you. All in all, in terms of profits for the medium-term, you can't go wrong with either.

I think Binance Coin is an excellent coin for investing. it will always be in demand among traders in Binance due to the fact that in transactions the commission in it is less than the commission in BTC or any other coin

Yeah actually we were seeing these price changes only some months before. After the value seems change at the same time without seeing it.

I believe that investment in bitcoin is accurate but you should not invest long term at this point, you can see that the market is in but signs continue to go back to the bear market as bitcoin and altcoin prices are falling. Strong in today when adjusted for the support level. The market is in downtrend so long term investment risk will be very high.

Now the more better to invest is the altcoins because they have alot of benefits once the price increase you will get more profit because it's lower than the price of the bitcoin. But I suggest don't choose only just choose both because you can get more money if you buy both botcoin and altcoin.

I'd do 50% 50%.Keep on your hands 50% of your bitcoins and buy with the rest altcoins that you faith in.They say "Never bet on 1 horse" right? So even the 50% you gonna invest on altcoins don't invest them on 1 altcoins,diversify them so that if an altcoin you invested in lose in value,other ones are there to back your losses up.

Altcoins are not doing too well now. That ,means you could have some good amount of alts at a cheaper price currently. But you can never leave BTC out of your investment at any moment. BTC is the household name in crypto; it is what we all want to have.

It all depends on how much money you have. If you have enough funds to buy bitcoins, then they must be taken. If not, then choose stable and promising altcoyins.

My view on all of this is that you're going to have to pick a camp to go into, if the majority of your investments are in both of these alternative investment types then you're going to get crushed if either side faces a downturn. It's simple if you think about it and have been here long enough, as the Crypto market isn't like the stock market where certain sectors will take a hit and other sectors will go up -- you're going to get destroyed if Bitcoin goes down and you hold bitcoin and other crypto alts. Everything in crypto follows itself, once you notice this you're going to be better off then a good amount of people in crypto. Invest in Crypto (a small percentage of your investments) and then in safer, more traditional investments.

In my opinion bitcoin will be the good coin to invest always but altcoins also may give more profitable than bitcoin but finding which altcoin is what really matters,so I always go with the bitcoin.And if you can't afford to buy bitcoin for now then you can pick the altcoins to know which altcoin you can better pick some of the top ranked coins in the coinmarket cap.So finally for me bitcoin,for you ? you have to decide that.

If you are thinking of investment right now, I think its better to buy some year end coins right now. Many are thinking that what happened last year will happen this year also although this is just a speculation.

When Bitcoin spiked in the last days, altcoins left behind because there are no new money for them. All of the new money are invested unto bitcoin and  that is the reason of its spike.

I think Bitcoin is the best coin to buy right now and for the long term. If I will choose for an altcoin, ETH and LTC will be the 2. EOS and XLM will be a good one to buy too for the long term.

I do not always compare how the development of Bitcoin and Altcoin, for me the most important is the prospective coin. When I can invest in a prospective coin then I will also have the opportunity to make a profit. That's why I prefer coins that have prospects and circumstances in different times will also differentiate the results that can be obtained. Look at the condition and situation of each coin that we will trade. We need time to do the analysis and it will determine what we get, the proper analysis in choosing the coin as the process increases and decreases will determine the results we will get.


Each coin has a good prospect to make a good investment, which becomes the determinant is how we make decisions within the right time as well.

if i were you i won't wait till the altcoins moon before i start buying because we should buy and wait for its turn to moon.

The price of Altcoins is dependent on the price of Bitcoin. The rise of bitcoin will tend to the growth of altcoins.
At this moment the majority of altcoins are 2-3x below comparing to December 2017 price while bitcoin price is 2.5x from its all-time high. I think you should take the safe side and invest in Bitcoin or any other major altcoin.

Every market is hard and highly volatile, most especially the altcoin market. The mistake a lot of us make is that we tend to center our mind hugely on the idea of holding by all means without knowing that learning how to trade can simply help us to get the best from the market both in the short and in the long term.

I actually decided to make do with trading and learn a lot since I just saw the nature of the bitcoin market volatility and how fast it can drop and I would rather take advantage of those fluctuations than keep holding. If I have to choose I would pick Bitcoin right away because it's less volatile than alts imo. Medium term ranges from 1-3 years according to google if you're going to invest on something for that long Bitcoin is a good option because halving is less than 2 years but Altcoins can also do better if you invest on the right one.

Altcoins are dependent but not all follow the gains and losses of Bitcoin some tend to lose more and others gain more because they can be used for pumps and dumps.

I heared lot of people say "Bitcoin is here to stay" but the truth is that "Blockchain is here to say" so bet on blockchain, the underlying technology, not on any single currecny.

I personally support both the platform is good for future journey but we should invest minimum two coins our investment is Safe because nowdays Crypto currency is volatile so we should  hold additional supporting investment. I always recommend long term investment and if someone is looking to short term investment they decide our own that will make profit in future.

I have no doubt that some altcoin is really a good choice for short term investment, but the problem is, only few can be trusted and you need to make a lot of research first about the project before you start investing on it, unlike in bitcoin that is already proven and tested by so many investors here in this forum.

From my experience better to keep 80% in bitcoin and other 15 in altcoins and 5 for ico and altcoins wich are below 100 in coinmarcetcap) of course all depends of your deposit.
Try also for traded but only in small amount of your deposit.

If you want to invest in the medium term, then you should invest in Bitcoin. Because altcoin is only suitable for long-term investment. Bitcoins are unstable, and prices are rising or falling rapidly in just a few days

for the time being bitcoin shows a good upside potential and maybe it will continue to increase for some time to come. and for altcoin I think though not everything has increased but behind it still saved some coin which has good potential for medium term.

Bitcoin is good but altcoin also not bad because if you can able to find altcoin which have potential to grow for short term or long term then i think that's good to be considered and don't even stick for one coin only for your investment tool and devide it because it can be minimize to lost your money

Both might be good, and the choice depends on your preference.

If your prefer low risk low profit investment bitcoin is the better choice. It's safer than alts, but to give you 2x profit it must get to 15K, which is hard.

If you accept higher risk, you can invest on good altcoins. Because of the lower marketcap, they can give you profit easier, but you have to be careful with your choice, not to choose any worthless no development hype only alts.

It will be altcoins for long term, i can't be sure about medium term because altcoins taken a really long time to get a upward movement but the one thing with altcoin is once it starts rising there is no stopping it keeps of rising for a while, just remember to place a stop loss as always

I choose both altcoins and bitcoin for the investment because from this two kind of coins can make us a big profit in the short time and long time. some of the altcoins can give us a profit too and the other altcoin is worked well for a long-term. bitcoin can also work for a short-term and long-term and until now, bitcoin is my main investment and I still save more bitcoin for a long time.

If you are not only a newbie here inside the forum but also a newbie in crypto world then I think much better if you'll start first with btc then you can later try alts such as eth, bch or xrp (or other top altcoins in the market) after gaining some experience.

Here's a friendly reminder, never ever invest into an ICO if you are not so sure to its potential of growing because you might lose money instead of earning. I say so because IMO ICOs can be profitable only from the expert hands of traders and not for the beginners like us :).

I will still be saying that you should invest in the bitcoin because it is evergreen coin and you can see the market how it goes up every time it comes down. Just checking my portfolio and surprisingly bitcoin has hiked a lot compared to other altcoins. Even ETH is behind this time and bitcoin has been above 15-20% since the last month now. Thats the positive stuff you should be peaking up from the bitcoin. If there are ups and downs then you should really consider it as opportunity to invest at down time and be profitable at up time of the bitcoin.

Both are good for investments. But if I have to choose, I go for bitcoin. It is because bitcoin is well-known to everyone and is the main reason why altcoins exist. There is no right or wrong answer on this one becaus eit depends on the current trend. Most of the time when Bitcoin price is going up, Altcoins price starts to go down but not all altcoins. Both are good to invest because it same that will give you a good profit. Bitcoin is proven that will give a good profit even we experience the bear market. One particular point is that each price cycle forms a wave and touches the Uptrend A line which lasts about 12 weeks (this is a weekly candle). That means no matter where the price goes, after about 12 weeks the price will return to the correct value at uptrend A.

Bitcoin would be the best investment for me. I only buy altcoin so that when its price go higher, I can have more bitcoin. There may be a possibility that an altcoin would grow more than bitcoin but I am more convince that bitcoin would exist for a long time and although other coins is superior to it in terms of technology, it has still the support of the people that's why it remains at the top. It has the advantage of being the most famous cryptocurrency so most likely, this is the first cryptocurrency that people will know and buy thus, a high demand and probably hodl it.

I am not torned between choosing bitcoin or altcoin. I prefer investing with both btc and alts because it is both profitable and as the market falls, I automatically take advantage of the dip. However, I divide my investment based on which is more profitable, I put more percentage in bitcoin.

By look in to historycal price of some altcoin compared with Bitcoin, actually last year some altcoin was offer bigger profit than BTC, but the problem is difficult to know which altcoin that will promising higher profit than BTC. Last year altcoin like XVG, ECA, XLM was give more than 100 times profit and this is bigger than profit that given by BTC. In my personal opinion altcoin that good for short-medium investment for now is XRP, XLM, ADA, ZEC, we have to split portfolio by each 50% for BTC and remaining 50% for altcoin.
