We all always seek profits in cryptocurrency trading, if the price of bitcoin soars, will you sell it to buy fiat or altcoin? If you buy altcoin, what is the altcoin that you will buy?

I haven't sold my bitcoin in a while but I used to sell it to buy fiat or altcoins. I have purchased plenty of different altcoins (IOTA, ZRX, Waves, ETN etc.) with it. However I am not planning to buy a new altcoin in near future. I will most likely just trade my bitcoin to fiat when the price is high and buy it back at lower price.

If prices start to rise I will buy some eth and other altcoins that have the potential to have a high price. I hope now the market will stay green and the traders can enjoy the task and earn big profits.

There is a chance for bitcoin to growth even more than 10k consider there is a lot of time before ETF decision in the 21th of september and never sell your bitcoin right now.

Currently, btc is pumping and it quite odd that altcoins are not following. I am holding on to my little hoard of Bitcoin while I am looking forward to the approval of the ETF either around August or September as this can have a big impact on the movement of this digital currency. of course you should sell bitcoin and start buying alts .Mathematically,buying fiat won't help you increase your money .However,if you got into some solid alt coins at these prices (i know they are bleeding now but that's just a temporary phase) , you would make more profits and increase your investment .

Well. To be honest, I'm still holding my BTC bought at 5k and planning to hold at least 1 month more. So, I sell btc, I will definitely invest again into some altcoins. Hoaring fiat will never give me any profit.
I will buy some ADA, NAV, ONION and some more if I can get it at my desired price. I don't want to be loser like previous, lol.

first of all you don't sell bitcoin to buy altcoins you exchange bitcoin for altcoins and everyone does it because they want to increase the amount of bitcoin they own and that takes us to the second point. which is about the fact that bitcoin's long term potential does not exist in anything else and everyone knows this which is why they are all increasing the amount of bitcoin they have with any methods they know:
- buying with fiat
- selling goods for bitcoin
- working signature campaigns, other micro jobs,... to earn bitcoin
- participate in altcoin pump and dumps to make profit on their bitcoin
- invest in mining
- invest in businesses like gambling sites to make profit.

As an investor, I will keep my bitcoin (unless its price increases by x1), I will not sell my bitcoin to buy other altcoins, I think Bitcoin is the safest and most stable in the fast-rising market. Coins!

I would choose to buy altcoins rather than fiat. I think this BTC rise is the start of a bull run that will draw in alts as well. And if alts rise against fiat, then it makes sense to buy alts.
As for which alts to buy, it depends to an extent on what you have already - but I would say ETH is a good choice.

I chose the option to survive and see the situation, but if there were no changes in a long time I would prefer to sell the Bitcoin I have to buy Fiat. i think most of people will follow the market price, and they usually choose to trade their BTC into Fiat for more advantages, Fiat like USDT or TUSD to keep their money safe from the fluctuation of the market that can bring Altcoins drop too, however, there are cases that investors will hold Altcoins when BTC is dumped but Altcoins keep rising, usually top 50 altcoins.

IMHO I would buy EOS, ETH, NEO and maybe ZRX if it would be a good price for it to come in. Old, long time existing coins can still show their strength.

It really depends, if you are a day trader the tendecy is to buy cheaper and sell it again when the up trends hits your goal price. You can also to do try to be a swing trader for to be able achieve a bigger profit but will take long compare to a day trader.

People often say that it makes no sense to invest in other coins when the market is pegged on bitcoin.
One thing you should realise is that if you believe crypto will dominate future tech, then this will definitely change. We are already seeing this somewhat with ETH: when you look at coin charts with ETH pairings they show less coupling with BTC.
Eventually, most coins will have a variety of pairings, which will thus reduce the effect that bitcoin has.. essentially meaning that it will make less sense to invest in bitcoin as opposed to other savvy techs.

The sale of BTC to invest in fiat or altcoins I find unreasonable because the current investment psychology is concentrated in the BTC and ETH to hold long term. So you should hold BTC and invest more in ETH to make a profit when the market price increases over time as there are lots of predictions that the cryptocurrency market will pump in the next month.

It is not easy decision to make but if bitcoin holds its value for a while, i think altcoin will recover their value some.

i keep holding my bitcoin, because this coin has a future and the prices is always pumping every end of the year. but if im going to buy some altcoins  my first choice is ethereum because its cheap and of course its the second most popular coin in the market. If I had some Bitcoins at the moment, I would use it to buy altcoins that I think might have a future. Not all of it, but I would buy some. And also take a little bit to pay bills. But I don't have Bitcoins, everything is in alts.

With my past experience of Bitcoin so called ultimate corrections in which i bought it ATH of $19,000 and until it falls to $7,000 in which i keep on holding until now that if Bitcoin will soar again to ATH then maybe i will sell my Bitcoin right away to take back my losses. In my opinion, it is about the expected profit that you can get in altcoin or fiat. If your expected profit in altcoin after holding it for the same time is more than that in Bitcoin, you can actually think about selling Bitcoin to buy altcoin or fiat. The decision can only be made on the basis of profitability a particular asset can give you. But I do not think it will be good enough to make the move for the margin of profit in Bitcoin is far more than that in the rest of the assets.

At the moment, I can't find out any reason that I should sell my BTC for altcoins or fiat while Bitcoin price is increasing back very quickly. I'll hold my BTC and all other cryptocurrencies which I'm holding till the end of this year and I'll sell my BTC only when it reached to $50k :).

I sell bitcoin to convert it into fiat and that basically means I need the money for emergency. So that means if I did sell my bitcoin, the intention is not because I just want to sell them. Most of the time I just hodl bitcoin and sell altcoins to buy another potential altcoin.

The most common strategy is to do the opposite, people invest in altcoins at first with the hope the altcoins they just bought will able to outpace the growth of bitcoin then when they are comfortable with their results they sell their altcoins and get bitcoin again, doing the opposite is possible but do not forget to sell your altcoins at some point and buy bitcoin again since it is the only coin that we know can survive for the long term.

I hope you are right but I think that the hopes people have that the bitcoin ETF is going to be approved are too high, the SEC has denied that every single time and yet people are extremely positive about the outcome, that is a little bit puzzling to me, but if it happens then it will surely make bitcoin go up in price temporarily, but I doubt this is what we are looking to make the price go up permanently.

I don't think that it is a good idea, the best will be putting some more money into altcoins but try to safe bitcoins that you have in your wallet, for me the price of it will grow in near future and there is no sense of selling them now.

Almost all Altcoin is affected by Bitcoin fluctuations. I still keep my Bitcoins, if prices soared, that would be a good signal for Bitcoin's good volatility, and of course, I would not rush to sell, but would study the investment. Add a few Altcoins that are influenced by Bitcoin fluctuations.

Its good to take some profit with bitcoin and invest it in good altcoins but better not to convert it into fiat money if you don't need the money. I'm just holding bitcoin until now because I know its worth and for sure my future with bitcoin is great. This will just depend on our goal and target price with bitcoin, always set that goal.

Bitcoin is always the king. If you believe in crypto,,, you have to first believe in Bitcoin. That is not something to negotiate about. Just because people are Bitcoin believers and hodlers does not necessarily mean they never sell,,, for example if you mine bitcoin or you earn it, then all your income is in bitcoin. If you can pay directly for btc for bills and rent and food, great. But until today I have not found a supermarket accepting btc, or phone company doing that or landlord in my country taking btc.

Well it is not that we're sticking with fiat currency it's just that most of us will convert some of our crypto into fiat and i think no one will only do one thing from buying fiat or buying altcoin. Agree with that, altcoins did suffer this year and like ETH for example, from $1300 as its ATH, it dump below $100 this year so it's not a wise decision to sell your bitcoin for altcoins and selling to fiat if you are not thinking of quitting and accepting your loses.

I would now sell 50% of Bitcoin and invest in alts, it's worth holding both alts and Bitcoin, I don't think it makes sense to hold USDT right now.

Tezos 100% after all that bad stuff going on with the Foundation? How does a scam coin, proven to be a scam,,, and still stuck in legal battles with so many people, make it to 100% again? I can agree about Link but so can I with any other alt that has not been through what Tezos has been.

Bitcoin is still going to be the supreme marker for all of this though. BTC is everything for alts.

in situations like this there is no best advice that can be used as a reference because all predictions seem to have nothing that can be used as a reference. if I don't have the best advice, keep holding bitcoin because this is still reliable compared to altcoin. if you want to force it to divide it is better to share it with ethereum.

It really all depends on how the market is performing. If you sell at the all time high, you're probably better off taking the fiat and buying back in to Bitcoin whenever the market recovers. But, if you sell now, your best bet would be to just trade the Bitcoin for another Altcoin since theres a few of those that have a little bit of good movement on days Bitcoin is down.

I think it would depend on the situation, if ever altcoin is on a good condition and price, I would prefer buying some of it. I would find good altcoins that has the potential of being successful in the future. If ever altcoin is not in a good condition or it is very difficult to find a good one to invest with, I would convert some of my earnings to fiat, not all of it, cause I would rather hold it still on bitcoin and wait till it goes high again. In terms of altcoin, Eth would definitely be the one I'll buy cause I know its potential.

No strategy is perfect and what I do not like from that strategy is that you are risking you capital in coins which we do not know if they will be successful, it is true that you can obtain more profits with altcoins but you can also get greater losses and the chances you obtain more losses are higher, so it is better to take the safest approach and just buy bitcoin and keep holding it for as long as you can as most likely the bull run will come in 2021.

If you are a crypto fan and longing it as a concept then it only really makes sense to trade altcoins and leverage your crypto position as a whole. If you are here just to make quick money and abandon the ship asap then obviously fiat would be your choice. Also it is better to quote in fiat when trend is bearish and market cap is falling.

I'm not sure where you got the analysis for XRP and where the information about being bullish is, because when I look at the charts, I see most of the alt prices in green and XRP in red. Recently, information about XRP delisting has also appeared.

It should be like this  sell your altcoins then use your profit together with your fiat to buy bitcoin while its starting to heat up. Everybodys eyes is at bitcoin right now, you must go with the flow.  Bitcoin first before altcoins.

I agree, many investors are switching to bitcoin because of the halving that will happen in few months. But for me I wont sell my altcoins to buy btc instead I will use fiat to buy additional btc.

depends on the situation,just like this year i sold some bitcoin when the market goes high and bought altcoins to wait for  halving.

this has been my strategy for years regarding my investments because i can afford to wait longer so even if my short term trading fail?i will wait longer.

I think it's better not to sell Bitcoin on such a market, it's better to keep it, as well as to find funds to invest in several promising alts.

Storing bitcoin is good for long-term investment but if we have a few funds, of course it's better to invest in altcoin in my opinion, for example, if we have $4000, of course we can only buy half of the current bitcoin price, but if we have these funds buy altcoin like eth or ltc, of course we will get some eth or ltc and if bitcoin and altcoin increase prices by about 10% on the market, of course if we calculate the profit we get from altcoin will be greater than the profit we can get from btc.

This depends on how the market is. The only fiat that is profitable to buy is dollar because you can convert cryptocurrencies to dollar at a very low charges on exchanges. So, it is like converting to cryptocurrency.

During bull run, people buy altcoins, that is why altcoin price increase could be double of bitcoin, so it is good to convert from bitcoin to altcoin at the time.

If bearish market begin, people convert back to bitcoin, this is why the price of bitcoin do not decrease like that of altcoin in bearish market because people demand for it.

During bearish market, some people just convert their money to dollar as I said in the beginning and buy again when the price is low.

Aside dollars, I can not advise someone to convert to any other currency except exchanges support the currency and if the currency value is not much decrease like some countries money.

If you sell Bitcoin, you should buy top alts, personally I would invest in ether, bnb, trx, ltc and eos. That's my personal opinion.

I apologize, but it seems to me that the cryptocurrency market is very unstable with respect to Bitcoin and altcoin as well.  I would not sell bitcoin in order to wait out price drops by investing these funds in altcoin.  To date, I use only stable cryptocurrencies in order to wait out the cryptocurrency market decline.

for the time being, just hold bitcoin, once the market becomes stable and the bitcoin price is at 10k usd then sell some to change to altcoin and fiat. i think it's better like that

I would prefer selling some of my altcoins right now than buying it with bitcoin. Bitcoin halving is very near and it is not really ideal to spent some of it since there is a potential bull run that may occur as halving happens. You should just use your fiat if you are going to but altcoins but make sure first that the value is low so that you can make profit from it as the value rises. Make sure that everything you do with your bitcoin right now is a preparation for the halving so that you won't regret anything as it comes.

This thread was really accepting many peoples but most of the peoples are consider the profitable investment in Crypto platform. So current market is more favourable in altcoin, But BTC is a more trusted cryptocurrency so still some peoples are hold the Bitcoin. May be fiat coins also useful in all the fluctuation time but we must decide how it will move on the further profit.

What coins did you bought? If you bought any of the good coins in the market then you will be making some decent profits right now or at least you will be recovering some of the money you have lost over the years, but if you invested in one of those icos that appeared over the years then most likely you are out of luck since most likely you are never going to recover the money you invested in those coins and it could be a good idea to sell those coins for whatever you can get at the moment.

This is quite correct. I think I will do the same thing to. The profit will be more that if I only have Bitcoin on my wallet. I guess we need to be  more strategic when it comes to investment. Buying altcoins are like putting my eggs on multiple baskets. But as of now, I will continue on saving some BTC for the coming bullish market so that more BTC will result to more sure profit.

Absolutely worst decision why you try to sell Bitcoin? You know in last few days Btc price congruously increases. I suggest you can wait to touch 10000$. Now altcoins or fiat currency investment will not a perfect moment. You cannot make good profit in altcoins i think. Crypto is very slow growing even without btc pumping there are no effects in the cryptocurrency market. In 2020 year only for btc investors.           

I think it is possible to explain the current situation in simpler words and take the right decisions based on the current state of the cryptocurrency market.  I would never sell Bitcoin either, or even if ETH were the most popular coins, not only in the near future, but also for a longer period of time.  But to buy more profitable altcoin, in order to sell less promising altcoins, you need to audit your portfolio and buy more promising in your opinion.  I think every user of cryptocurrency will make the right choice and benefit from it.

Currently I think am not longer in selling any more bitcoin. As we expect a bull run from btc soon. But should I sell my btc for alts, I think I'd buy bags of Awc as it is currently undervalued and cheap.

You can sell some and keep some. Buy some alts. Always diversify assets. You can earn more that way. Some trade, scalp and withdraw profits. Whichever suits you.

One thing that I feel to do is cash it out immediately when a surge occurs in bitcoin, but still we don't need to cash it all because after all this market still has potential so getting altcoins from these benefits will be a good choice as long as we can manage it and choose altcoins right to hold in the mid to long term.

Selling of ones bitcoin immediately after the surge occur is certainly not a good impression and the samething goes with the procedure of using bitcoin accumulate altcoin when the surge in price of the altcoin market depend on the price momentum which the bitcoin market posed.

I won't recommend selling your all BTC to buy an altcoin, however, I'm convinced that some portion of your portfolio must be in low-cap coins because this is the best way to diversify your portfolio because only low-caps coins have the potential to go up 10x-50x any time and this happened already many times in the market. I've 70% of my portfolio in BTC and 30% in Ryocurrency(RYO) which is a pretty undervalued privacy coin and prices can soar anytime due to strong fundamentals. I would recommend the same, but don't forget to do your own research first.

Yes I think it is possible to make a lot of profit by selling energy coins for good profit or good profit. Parents can make a lot of profit. Naturally, the price of cryptocurrency market coins depends on the price of bitcoin.

There is no problem about this, because everyone has their own choices and I think whatever they choose will be good for themselves if they realize every risk. We don't need to stick to only one coin, because after all every crypto on the market has a different potential with a lower purchase price then of course it will make them able to buy more.

Hopefully you didnt buy altcoins with that bitcoin back then.  I think now would be a good time to invest in a couple high end alts as it looks to be a bull market coming soon.  Either way you crack it always keep most of the funds in bitcoin and not dive nose deep into alts.

I think for now its better to stick to bitcoin because of the price growth though other alts are following the trend as well. In the end it depends on the investors itself if they will choose to sell their btc to buy alts. Some alts are still in cheap price still a good time to accumulate but taking profit if you invest in alts take time, usually the price increase of alts are depending on the movement of bitcoin.
