The hardest time to invest is in a bear market. You end up purchasing little amount of tokens for more ETH or BTC. But it's also a good time for projects to collect good sums of money during their crowdfunding, as ETH or BTC goes up, so does the value of the funds raised.

The question now is, will you invest in ICOs, or stick with investing in market dips (buy low, hodl and wait to go up and sell), or simply trade in bear markets?

We do have our way of preferences on when to invest.

I'd rather stick to invest during the market dips and only buy those coins at the cheaper price and hold it for few months. While I'm holding those coins, as normal practice will do some trades to.

But investing to ICOs at the moment? no.

Just spent a little bit to invest in the promising ico and i should give a marker about the word of promising ico. Put the rest to invest in the market dips. Top trade in the bear market is too risky for me and i only sold them all when the price has reached the peak and then try to be a patience person and waiting for another dip and just try to create my entry at the low price.

Its good time since most of the people would be afraid investing, hence you have the chance to getting the most of the supply and be able to control the market when its get listed on exchanges.

according to the theory now is the time to buy at low prices. But it is very difficult to choose what to invest in. Lots of garbage in the market. There is no confidence that the token will survive and give at least x2.

It's the best time to invest as you can get many token as the price of ETH is still lower due to bearish market and you should research first on what ICO you want to invest as we had many good ICO but ended with no good results. Although we have different preference in making our investment but this bearish trend has given the cryptomarket a hard time. Buy low at dip and sell high is still the best strategy.

I always invest in ICO if I like the project. Recently, I noticed a trend of decline in the price of the token after the exchange, but this is due to the quality of the project and not the market.

From December 2017 to February 2018, I attended a number of ICOs and until now the prices have dropped greatly.

a bear market doesn't technically affect something random like an ICO. but what affects them is the fact that they all have lost their attractiveness and people are no longer investing in any of these ICOs because majority of them have already been burned enough times to now be more cautious and stay away from ICOs for the most part. you can clearly see it in their recent history.

The only problem how to pick up the right ICO.
I would recommend to take a look at those one which are almost at the finish and almost reached the hard cap like Ubex
In such projects that are almost at exchnages - it has a sense of investing even on such a bearish market

The latest ICos have seen a price under the first token price, but this does not mean that every coin in a bear market will hit under the ICO price. In my opinion are there enough good projects who will give a good ROI.

Ubex is great project with 4000 contributors as far as I know BUT not invest in any ICO on such weak market! Price most likely will go down

I think that in a good ICO project you can invest in any period, it will in any case bring profit. Just in the market bulls need to get a profit at a quick time and on a bear in the long-term storage.

This stage really earn good profit from ICO really very difficult. I think the ICO in recent months is experiencing a lot of problems and investors are feeling depressed at the current situation. If you choose to invest in ICO it is best to choose the uptrend period as this is the time when the market develops best.

I think the bearish or bullish market only make small impact in ICO investment, no matter how the market condition when we invest, if the project is going well, we will still get the profit. Because most of the ico price is based on USD rate, so the different is not really big.

Agree with your comments . Market capitalization is declining and the market has not shown the best recovery. So investing in ICO projects will not help investors make a good profit. I believe ICO will be a new trend in 2019 and this year is not good for the whole market

Although we all have our preference and it is good to buy low, hold and sell when it is high but for me, during the bear market, I prefer to invest in coin that has potentials than investing in icos because the project may likely not survive the bear and that will bring loss for me.

I think a lot of factors are necessary to be observed at such a point. ICO investments are subject to various risk based on project plans and team members. Also, bitcoin price is totally relevant to all other coins and tokens in aspect of price movements. Its hard to say when is the right time to invest but a thorough research of the market and the project is necessary at all times to make the right decision.

We are almost at bottom so i can invest and already investing.
I bought few ethereums and lots of BNB today and will buy more on next price drop too.

If the project worth the amount you invested, then their is no question if it's in bearish or bullish market as long as you will be profitable on your investment. The problem we have right now is too many fake projects that spoil other good ICO that have good intention and investors has lose it's confidence to invest in ICO. I still believe that ICO is the source of exponential profits that you get in risking your money on them.

Bear market is the actual thing we need to find the marketplace growth from that and people goes to invest on the bitcoin when the time bitcoin grows up  but if you invest on the bear market only you will be able to find the profit in the market buddy.

I think the bear market should be investing in ICO projects.

It depends on the project. Nowadays we have some good ICOs' and it's fully okay to invest in them and not watch at low price of ETH, BTC

Though there are still some ICO that is doing great in this bear market, I really think that investing in ICO now comes with too much risk. First, even they have great concept they might be having a hard time finding investors in this bear market also a lot of airdrop participants and bounty hunters are dumping the coins usually in decentralized exchange before the legit exchange of the token.

Even in bear market good ICOs give x2-x3 ROIs, for example Hitchain, DxChain, Metronome. But it's very difficult to find and choose such projects but I can recommend to research ICO QuickX and Spatium which will be launched soon.

In a bear market the value of ICO price becomes less and you can convert few dollars to purchase an ICO which will in later time become a good investment when there is a bull market.

It is true that it is very hard to invest to an ICO with this kind of market due to the fact that big time investors would just choose to hold or probably trade to existing coins in the market.

But for me, why not both? If given a chance I will trade and all of my profits can go in investing to incoming projects as long as I see the potential of it.

If there is a good ICO worth investing in then why not. The problem is that some ICOs would be having a hard time in collecting funds because some investors would be hesitant to invest since they can maybe buy more coins when the price goes up. For me, it is good to invest in some ICO while bear market. Because the value of ethereum/btc is low, then those ICO will also base on the cheap price/current price of Bitcoin or ethereum. Because when you will invest while bull market, there is possibility that the market will dump surprise.

The only thing that can fight bearish trend is hype - you can be sure that if you invest in overhyped projects, you won't lose your money at least in a shirt term, but still you won't earn much in a long term. So succesful ICO is not about ideas and technology now, but about hype only.

There are so many good, really promising projects that are being already developed whose price is much below their ICO price due to the bear market, I think there are better opportunities already listed for less risk than to participate in any ICOs right now.

Buy during dip in the market,  hold and sell high when the bull run takes place is always good practice during the crisis in crypto but investing is also a good choice only so not use your bitcoin to invest. In bear period, I would rather buy more of stable coin than invest in icos because new icos may likely not survive the market and it will result to loss so but investing in stable altcoin will possibly yield profit when the market recover fully from the bear and when the bull run starts, it will rise. I would rather buy when the market is stable than buying when the market is in bear.

In a bear market, all prices can go both ways since there are some coins that go against the overall trend. IMO, I would still invest in 100% legit ICOs such as Menlo One or even Eloncity since I am more worried about not being able to get the position I want rather than paper losses. ICO participation is totally different because if we invest on ICO it is depends on the project worth so bear market is not affected the ICO investment. It will really depend on the project itself, so many ICO in the past months and most of them succeed on it and its value are still high after the bounty hunters dump their token. I would suggest to invest only with great project so your money will be worth it. Actually most of the ICO right now will last for at least 3-5mos so I think the market that time will be in the good position now and your investment will become profitable.

No, I can't invest in ICO when market is very bearish like we see right now. The main reason is because the possibility of us getting profit or ROI from the ICO in question is very small. I think it's not about if the market is on a bullish or bearish situation. The thing that you should consider is the ICO that you are going to invest on. Regardless of the market trend, the ICO that you want to invest on should withstand and have a solid support during market changes. I can invest on a bear market if I am confident that the ICO I am investing on is worthful. Though the best course to do during a bearish market is not to invest on ICO. Definitely no, people are pulling out funds in the market as of now and I cant see a reason why we should or would invest into ICO. I have seen lots of projects didn't able to reach out their cap due to market price decline and in result they do failed or decide to have an extension or postpone of the main sale. Its much better and more wiser to invest or buy cheaper coins in the market than on risking your money into investing to those project funding.

We no need to pull out. Instead of going for ICOs, I like to suggest to keep investing into few highly established coins. As of now Market could get crushed eventually but not without seeing at least some possibility of some little retracement in the short term and like I said, it is going to be short term.

I do not expect us to see towards for bitcoins around $6200 immediately as I expect to see some bounce anyway before then, but time will tell. I expect the market to go lower eventually anyway which would not be slow to pick up with a bounce. This would be the time to be holding some of those altcoins with good product.

I think the September to October period will be the best time to invest in the ICO. The movement of bitcoin is always very fast. Moreover, the effect of ETF will create strong growth momentum coming. What's the return you could make off ETH in the long run 'if' correction sets in, a 2 or 3x or even a 4x at max - and yes that's like $1,148 USD/ETH. You invest in an ICO like MFChain, or INGOT Coin, or even DataBlockchain with either revolutionary concepts or having achieved huge contribution feats already. I bet within 10 months you could make as high as 100x. Not speculative, historical data proves it.

Only a good project that I think will have a huge potential in the market in their Ico stage that I'm going to invest in an ICO but I still prefer to buy a stable coin in the bear market, or wait for the coin to hit the market, because the current trend is coin will have a lower value when it hit the market compare on it's ICO stage.

Even bear market I've invested in Origo and want to invest in CertiK and QuickX - good projects that all we need but it's risky so DYOR. I know that high risk = high profits.

In this period of bear, I prefer to invest in stable and promising coin than in ico because this coin have established themselves in the crypto community than icos that are just building up and trying to get the attention of investors and some will not even survive the bear. Its a good idea to invest in ICO in bear market when ETH is cheap.  It will give more multiplication than in bull market when everything is high price.  But always, you need to figure out the good project from bad.

i prefer to stay away from ICOs since there are more scams than ever but as far as trading it depends on the stage of the bear market we are in, if there's opportunity of very high reward to low risk trades, then of course you'll want to make some profits but if not then i'd prefer to stay on the sidelines and wait for the market to make a shift in the sentiment and when most are screaming that BTC is dead.

In a bear market, price appreciation on listing happens only for very good ICOs. Many ICOs are trading below ICO prices so need to watch for that. Once bull resumes, big price jumps after listing will be more common.

It's very hard to tell for investing an ICO. Mostly ICO comes up with nothing, they are just scammer who wants to collect money from investors for their own greed. Not all ICOs are actually like that, some of ICO end up being successful. They're even manage to list on the top of coinmarketcap. Not the first one, but they manage to survive in the market storm and maintain their position in top 50. It's not safe to invest in ICO, so I prefer waiting until it releases in the market.

I think it's illogical to postpone listing. If you've raised your required sum, go ahead and list... And with a buy back program you can gain more tokens.

To date, a lot of projects are doing the wrong things, because after the end of the ico the company is delayed to enter the stock exchange for trading. If the project really has prospects, then each holder is only interested in increasing the price, and therefore will not sell coins immediately after entering the other platform.

It's a really big risk. Say for example I have 1000$ I would prefer to trade and do stop loss than to invest in ICO that may fail or not get listed on time. This will invariably tie down Capital.

Investing in ICOs during bear market is more risky compared investing on tokens that are already listed and on downtrend beacuse at this case, those that are already listed will give you an assumption whether it will have an increase or not. Unlike on ICO investment wherein it will be a pure guess becausre as we can see at this moment, most of the ICO tokens are having below ICO price.

I have not invested in ICO for a long time since prices have dropped, I prefer to invest in coins such as bitcoin and ethereum. but actually if we have a good analysis of the ICO, the bear market is not a problem for us to invest in the ICO.

Good projects are waiting for better conditions, and the loss of trust in recent ICOs is the reason why we are away. There are many problems with new projects. The first problem is the softcap, as second, prices fall after listing the price goes down many times, also most of them are scammer.

As you can see, we were in a down market for more than a year technically and in the high season, it was risky because the ICO market was already saturated, investing in ICO at that time is worse than gambling and there is no exception to the project! Now market is experiencing very tough situation and now is very tough task to gain profit by investing ICO. So i can't invest in ICOs. But hopefully market will be recovered soon then i will be back.

Investing into a project during ico time and when the bearish market is prevailing is not a bad thing to me if the project is a good one.  I could remember that the cryptocurrencies markets and icos market perform badly in 2018 and that do not mean it has correlation with each other.  What really affected icos market since end of last year till now are scams and unprepared projects.  Many investors has lose significant amounts of money in this market and that is why many people start avoiding investing during icos and focussing trading in coins that has been listed in the market.

I'm not sure I agree - I think a bear market means that ICOs have a hard time. They have much more success when the market is bullish, like the ICO craziness we saw in 2017 with a lot of projects hitting hardcap within minutes of opening the ICO. I think they find it tougher going to raise funds when the markets are falling.
