Title: New type of scammers in telegram! Keep your bitcoins safe! Watch out!
Post by: GoldenOrder on September 05, 2018, 09:52:17 AM
Be very careful of this new type of scammers in Telegram. They use the names and pictures of beautiful girls. The way they operate is that they show themselves in the telegram chat of whatever coin you are into. They don’t directly private message you, but they say something to call your attention or somebody else’s attention to start a conversation and eventually take the conversation private.

You would need to be very naive to fall for something so completely obvious. But then again, I've seen even CEOs of companies not even understand the most basic of scam tactics on Telegram. So I can see why some broken english guy from India might fall for such a seemingly obvious trap. It's very simple guys, don't send money to anyone for any reason on Telegram unless you know them!

Probably most of those photos they are using can be found easily on google. Don't look for a girlfriend on telegram and don't even respond to people you don't know.

Nothing new here. Although first time I hear about this particular tactic. But it is well known that if you put a picture of some beautiful lady, even better with sexy pose you can easily pick up some newbies and play with them as you want. There are even people who just go there and take photos of some random person, such as they find everything on from public fb profiles and pretend to be he/she even they are not. Honestly I am getting sick of telegram with many people spamming all over. not to mentions spams that are happening on twitter and discord all together. We can conclude that this is all working for scammers as they continue to do these things. This is why it is important to know that they exist. Very detailed article, good share.

Is it actually new? I feel like I've seen these type of scams in pretty much any related to money online  :D  It would be pretty dumb if someone actually falls for such an obvious scam (pretty girl talking to you alone asking for private info and/or money? fishy)

Don't look for a girlfriend on telegram
I doubt people here in forums who join cryptocurrency related Telegram channels are looking for a girlfriend in those telegram channels, or maybe it is a thing, I don't know.

As the popularity of crypto is increasing, number of scams and their types are increasing day by day be it telegram or twitter. Every page is doing an airdrop of X coin. You'll get 5000 X coins after they reach 1000 followers. To get 5 million X coins, just send them 0.01 ETH. Don't fall for any of them. Be a little vigilant and never login in your wallets with private keys on any unknown website.

This is not a "new type" of scam. It's pretty much just like a typical scam, just with actors that are willing to spend time to convince their target. Thanks for the heads up anyway, might help the noobs.

Oh wow, using photos of hot girls to soften up men for scams? That's revolutionary! Whoever thought of that must be rich by now. /s

Lol but yeah on a more serious note, you can prevent a lot of trouble by simply not talking to people you don't know. That advice works both in crypto and life in general lol.

Also, thinking with your dick is a bad idea, as you might imagine.

Haha, so true....just ask Bill Clinton!  ;)

It may seem obvious to the vast majority of us, but i'm sure there is a very small percentage of people who fall for things like this.

As the saying goes....a fool and his cash are easily parted! (i concur as i forgot to put a stop loss on a trade last night!  :-X )

This is a typical scam that's been happening not only on telegram but on all social media sites, forums and most notably in the forms of emails, just open your spam box and there'll be hundreds of them wanting to meet you. There's no way to stop it, but follow a simple tried and tested rule, do not talk to strangers until you know them, or someone you know knows them. I'm sure many of us would have avoided this, but I'm sure many newbies would have fallen for it, so a good share.

a new trick for bitcoin criminals, usually the mode used is selling non-account, which indeed criminals offer relatively cheap prices to attract the attention of victims through forums where transactions or bargaining prices are carried out on telegrams, my advice is you do not easily believe someone else or you will lose a lot of your bitocin.

Thank you for this. In fact, I don't think there is any cryptocurrency group where these scammers are not present but one thing that I know is that you cannot be scammed if you are careful enough and follow the dos and don'ts. If you have any reason to establish a private chat with any individual, don't leave any of your security informations.

Some persons are just lazy and naive, they do not want to think for themselves but instead will prefer someone to think out for them and at the end they are scammed. wen too many scammers on telegram, especially during ICO they may ask you to send your bitcoin to a private, funny some guys do fall for it. Too bad.

What would you call this type of scam?  Is it ICO or cryptocurrency related scam or romance scam?  Either way, if you found love on Telegram, your prayers have been answered, however, when your supposed love now starts demanding for stuffs to be paid in cryptocurrency, then, you should wise up.  Do not fall into all these romances to the extent of dropping your Private Key, some people could be that easy to manipulate. Other scam included but not limited to those who would message one out of the blues to buy coins directly from them. We all know this, caution needs to be taken here.

This seems like a very elaborate way to not get much. I think most people should and would realise this was a scam in some way before they gave away their details. The saving grace even if they didn't is that most people usually have the smarts to use different usernames and passwords for different things. Even still, if you spare one person then that's your good dead for the day done.

Those scammers developed a different type of approach. This one however takes a lot of time to accomplish because gaining trust in other people's eyes through telegram is a very hard task.

This type of scam has a name. It's called ewhoring and it's a black hat way to drive converting leads to dating affiliate programs or to trick the victim to pay using cryptocurrency or giftcards for a private cam show.
This is a pretty old scam method.People can find lots of info about ewhoring in forums like Hackforums.net...
I guess that all the "ewhores" had moved from Skype,Kik and Snapchat to Telegram. >:(

Thanks for sharing this with us. There are lots of scams going on there. You will just see a random message out of the blue, obviously, the sender of the message got your contact from an ICO page one joins. You'll either be told about a new coin entirely and that she has access to giving you mouth watering bonuses. It does not even end there, one could be telling you about Private Key and all. Those people are very cunning and manipulative. Do not even keep the conversation going. Another could be there telling or luring you through love related messages. They are boss in their game, playing it perfectly. In the long and short run, your coins are at stake if care isn't taken.

Yes, the world and people living in it have discovered the powers embedded in women bodies and that is why the pictures of women are used for selling points for any gathering, organizations, telegram profile etc.

Even ico groups or teams tend to be guilty of this too. They showcase women very seductively dressed when they take group photos and all the rest. These are usually gimmicks to win people over to one's side and if you are unlucky, you could either be scammed directly (in terms of sending coins) or later (when you invest wrongly in a scam ico because of the beautiful ladies pics that you have been stocked with).

Well, these are pretty obvious scams taking place openly on the internet and even on the telegram groups. However, there are some serious scam attempts which might steal your funds from you and your web accounts. They pretend to be the service/support representative of popular web wallets or exchanges and they ask you about your confidential information, newbies for such traps and lose their money. That's why it is crucial to do own research before doing anything.

Thank you for the information you provided, I have also found a telegram chat like that but I never opened it even to respond because I thought it was a very unimportant thing and we did not need to respond.
I also heard about this, so I am very careful.
I think that such fraud has happened for a long time and many types of fraud can take your data not only through telegrams.
so for that be careful in doing anything especially things that look very prominent for us to open a blog or another.

Lol. Thats very old technique and also as a crypto investor I would never fall for such traps! I mean already crypto is filled with full of scammers and thus getting ourselves trapped into fake profiling would be the worst case scenario. In the telegram I will never accept the PM from anyone and it doesnt matter how hard they call themselves as admins, official person etc. Also, no admin will contact you by themselves and this is also always mentioned by them in the telegram group of their project. So surely anyone falling for the traps like this would be stupid person at all.

If anything that is just another reason, as if we needed even more reasons, to not use social media as much and to not give details about who you are and especially about the amount of bitcoins and other cryptocurrency that you are holding, I see a lot of people brag about the amount of coins that they're holding not understanding that they are just putting a big target on their backs.

These scammers are all around the internet and I have been done once and I have learned a lot of lessons so I don't go to any sites unsafe.

Desperate for an opportunity to jump aboard in the next big thing, cryptocurrency owners are losing money by investing blindly in fake Telegram ICO websites and the most is the telebot created buy fraudsters requesting for your  details and at the long run you would get nothing as stipulated buy the telebot you would receive after the of ico and in some case the account would be deleted before the ico even begins. i have had such experience after completing the task both in facebook and twitter, the bot prompt up that i would be credited  some tokens  into my ethereum wallet via the address given as requested by the bot when filling the form after the end of the ico till today it is a story even a bot requested for my key and immediately i deleted
that telegram page. you can imagine someone pasting his ethereum wallet address keys in a telegram chat forum even when their attention was called they ignored and left it there what would you think or say about such action form that individual?

These scams are not only going with telegram, people are taking advantages of other social media platform to steal our bitcoin. The chase goes on facebook, whatsapp and even snapchat. BEWARE!!!!!!!
I think we can use social media like usually. But be aware for someone who we not know and always remember don't trust anyone in crypto. This thing which is spread to people all over the world to avoid scam.

Actually this is not new to other social media like facebook wherein the scammer uses images and pictures of a sexy lady to scam other guys out there who is also like to watch those nudes and sexy videos and pictures. The victims are usually those who are pervert that likes this kind of show and for that they always end up getting scam. Anyway we should not blame them because even they get scam they like it also.

Definitely! There are so many scammers in whatever platform it is and if they private message you and you don't know him/her, it's already a red flag. They may flaunt their bodies but if I know, it's just some guy who knows how the minds of other men works and he is just taking a chance that someone who is naive would fall for it. Usually, it would be those that are new to cryptocurrency and not that aware of the many scams that are going around.

Well definitely it is not all about love instead it is all about lust. There is no way you found love by showing sexy pictures and nude photos or videos on telegram. It is all fake and they are faking it because they want you to believe and then let you pay for it. I could not believe that there are small brain people that actually fall in the likes of this scam!

This seems like a very elaborate way to not get much. I think most people should and would realise this was a scam in some way before they gave away their details. The saving grace even if they didn't is that most people usually have the smarts to use different usernames and passwords for different things. Even still, if you spare one person then that's your good dead for the day done.
Yeah there is no way that many people here in the forum could be outsmarted with low balls scam. This is really basic scamming activities and we can identify this one. Maybe the one who posted this thread was a victim of getting scam and after he was being scam he posted it here basing on his experience.

SEX sells, we know it we guys always fall for sex, be it nude or not we always talk to girl but if they ask to send first then its going to be something of a scam. a lot of times girls talked to me in facebook with our local dialect asking me to send BTC, but i just told them they are not good at scamming and its not too late to change career.

Unfortunately Crypto has absorbed all kinds of the worst SCUM of the Earth and until there is more work done by the Community to stop these people, a lot of mainstream people will not even touch Crypto. The number of times I have been sha8fted by various nasty entities, many lurking even here on Bitcointalk forum, is a joke.

What you should do is use this thread to name and shame these nasty entities and their telegram ids so people can avoid them. My Husband started a thread for bounty cheaters as they keep trying to steal our content and pretend they are us. Yeap, these low lives will do anything in their power to steal from honest peeps in the Crypto Community. It's a real shame, but the only thing we can do is try to get together to catch these nasty elements so others can be warned at least.

Good articles, will be a concern for someone who is just joining the crypto currency and I guess bounty hunter is a very vulnerable person with this type of scam. Bounty hunters will be more often telegraphed because they need information about the development of an ICO project. However, I just think if someone who has experienced this type of scam is those who are hungry for women. Personally, I always think that crypto currency industry is anynomous so it is very rare for users to share their personal information in a forum and even show personal photos to people, so I just think that having a photo of a beautiful woman on their profile is not a real person.

I agree. There are a plethora of hackers and scammers in the cryptocurrency community these days and they will not disappear anytime soon. Instead, they continue to grow as time passes lurking here and there and waiting for a chance to steal from people.

Majority of the investors have already secured their funds in an effective manner, but there are some investors(Newbies primarily) who fail to use their brains and end up losing their valuable funds. Be careful people.

An important step for you to avoid scammers is, never send money to someone else for no apparent reason
if you send small money around 1 - 5 USD, it doesn't matter, but if you are told to send money above 100 USD, it will be a problem and we also know that in the online business world, someone's identity can be fake and even can freely create multi accounts
stay alert, not only on telegrams, but on all social media

Be very careful of this new type of scammers in Telegram. They use the names and pictures of beautiful girls.

Unfortunately, this is human nature.  Even before our conscious mind can make a measured, calculated response; the unconscious has already picked up the [sexy] cue, and released a torrent of hormones.

The trick is to think of every beautiful girl profile as a wily scammer.  But, this is easier said than done.

I have a 'beautiful, sexy girl' profile on Facebook [that I don't use to scam people!] and my cousin knows it's me; yet, every now and then, he wants to chat, just to get that hormone surge from chatting with a beautiful girl, even if it's on a profile!

This is about the cheapest scam you can come across on telegram and unless there is something wrong, you are not expected to fall for this. People get added to several telegram groups without their consent. While some of this may be good, some are pure scam. Learn to leave scam group immediately you noticed.

Be very careful of this new type of scammers in Telegram. They use the names and pictures of beautiful girls. The way they operate is that they show themselves in the telegram chat of whatever coin you are into. They don’t directly private message you, but they say something to call your attention or somebody else’s attention to start a conversation and eventually take the conversation private.

yes right, I have experienced an incident almost deceived by a telegram fraudster, he claimed to be the manager of a project and wanted to request my private key, on the grounds that he wanted to send tokens and other reasons that were difficult to explain, finally I broke all the rottenness. If we are not careful, then that will happen.

Education on scam issues is always important especially to members who are new to the world of cryptocurrencies. There are a lot of scam projects online, scamming people all in the name of bitcoin. The best security is always yourself, you need to follow safety guidelines so you don't fall victim.

How actually brain-damaged should one be to fall for it? no offends, but believing in online  stranger girls hooking you up for your coins is very pathetic
just sayin', if you let them fool you - you had that coming one way or another :D

As you mentioned i also suffer this same type of problem
recently i want to convert my btc to inr i used normally LOCAL Bitcoin to convert my btc
i was searching the buyer in that i got one telegram user it shows to different user in the same name it thought it could be the same person
i used to start chatting with him and he also agreed with my deal he told me send the btc to the address which is given by him
one thing i was made mistake i totaly belived him i send the coin to him directly after he recivening the coin he blocked me
so the users who are using local bitcoin dont send coin directly trade with security and follow the instruction which is given by the local bitcoin authority
this is the scammer telegram id @NAVEENGOWDANV1 dont trade with him

Recently, another way of scamming people on telegram is through the creation of telegram group chats where the developers/admins ask users to send BTC, ETH or any valuable coins to a specific wallet and receive a times two of the amount sent. How can this be possible yet people send them and get scammed because their own team members in disguise will lure people by posting pictures which shows that they have received the double payment after sending their tokens. Be cautious and never become a victim of such fraud.

You have got to be really dumb to fall for that. Moreover, it is a common type of scam, kind of like e-whoring but the only difference is that here the girl is shown to be ultra rich, unlike the typical method.
Rule 1: There are no poor girls on the internet.
Rule 2: Never go first/ pay a stranger for an online service when you aren't sure of its delivery.

That's a common method of scamming, recently my friend encountered a scam which we would never think about. He believed there will be official admin support for Binance on telegram. He searched and found it, and asked help on the process involved in verifying the account. He tried and in between some issues happened, and my friend reported to the same person carrying the Binance logo that it isn't getting verified. Slowly asked let me check with the email ID and further he started saying we need to pay around $60, now we understood and left the conversation.. Later got the msg when can I expect the transfer. So, we need to be very careful in this.

To be honest, there are so many scammers in terms of cryptocurrency. They're using the ignorance of other people and take advantage to scam money. That is actually unethical but we can't avoid since it was digital and we cant do anything about it but to accept. We just need to be more active and more careful in every transaction that we make.

thats not scamming anymore but that is blackmailing   . this case is now popular due to the technology today where people use social media and posting anything they can  . this can be a warning to other users .

in the case of telegram , i dont see scammers in it but i do see alot of spammers . they send links and polute every channel that im on . but  its easy to tell if the user you are talking with is a scammer because they will ask for a cash  .

There are some that offers help to assist you or offer an help you to a bonus to you. Today I experienced one of them messaging me to help me win a lottery , he said I should deposit 70$ to participate in the lottery and he will make we win while we share the profit. I reported him as scam . Let’s all be careful and not be greedy .

I don't get it why people still fall for telegram scammers. The point when everyone should notice a scammer is when the scammer asks for details you should give him (send coins etc.) or do something for him. Easy rule: don't send anything to anyone especialls if you were PMed first.

You don't know why people fall victims for telegram scammers and scammers in general? ''Greediness" is the answer. Due to the outstanding greediness of people, they go ahead to believe that if you send 1ETH, you'll recieve 10ETH. How can 1ETH generate 10ETH, yet people believe this. Let's cut the greediness and be very cautious of these scammers. They are real!

I have been through these stuff and I think I am getting pro at identifying these scammers/scams  ;D I wouldn't lie but I encountered a scammer yesterday.
His scheme was quite unique though. He told me that he is the admin of some crypto roulette and he said that he can make me the winner of a jackpot on his site.
All I need to do is deposit somewhere around 0.03 BTC to 0.05 BTC and then he will make me the winner of jackpot which will earn me 0.5 BTC
I got to know that he is trying to scam me by the way he was texting. ;D

Why are you cheated?

Ignorance: Ignorance is ignorance, simplicity. Don't treat ignorance as simplicity. Society is all-inclusive. There are truth, goodness and beauty, and there are fake and ugly. If we are true, good and beautiful to the false and ugly, it is ignorance.

Laziness: Why is it related to laziness? The cheaters are very diligent. In order to deal with the target group, they have done enough homework, done enough market research, and calculated the scale benefit. Almost all fraudulent networks have relevant reminders, as long as you search a little, you should understand. All laws and regulations are available on the Internet. Everyone does not consciously reserve some. What is not laziness?

Desire: Few people get free lunches. Your luck may not be so good. Their desires should be satisfied by their own diligence and hard work, rather than by speculation and ingenuity.

Greed: You can't eat a fat man in one bite. Greed, voice, thoughts and delusions are too much.

How to Prevent

1. Look at the above carefully and learn to draw inferences from one another. There are endless tricksters, and our own IQ should be actively recharged.

2. Don't panic, consult your family, classmates and teachers. Several people must have a much bigger vision than one.

3. Food needs to be eaten one mouthful at a time. Knowledge and skills need to be accumulated for a long time before they can be realized as a price. As students, they should devote more energy to their studies. Suddenly successful and wealthy, only in fairy tales. Guangliang said: Fairy tales are deceptive!

4. If something goes wrong, there will be demons. If it happens, then the crocodile rule, if necessary, is better than losing one leg.

Just FYI you're promoting a scam in your signature. Bizzillion(s) a HYIP, which is a nice word for "scam." You will lose money if you invest in this. If you don't, just know whatever profits you made are at a loss to somebody else who _did_ get scammed.
