Title: Buy on ICO or buy after being exchanged?
Post by: wibawa on September 16, 2018, 01:14:38 PM
I see and observe recently that many ICOs are below the ICO price when they touch the exchange. Do you think it's a smart step to wait for an exchange and buy the tokens you want?

Hence do your own research

Recently it did not become favorable to buy tokens on ico. After entry into the exchange all of them equally go down in price. So it is possible to wait for an exit and to buy at lower price.

I agree, if you invest in ico, you will lose a lot of money but not all ico is bad. You must be selective in choosing a project. Currently, it's better to invest after listing tokens.

If you buy at ICO sale you can get bonus which can help you to make more money than the capital invested even if the token price fell below the ICO rate but if the price fell too much you invested on the wrong worthless project so it is your fault and when buy at the exchange after listed it will remove lot of risk like scam ICO but you will get less profits than the ICO sale.

He agrees, after transfer you will have at least some confidence that the project real. Many fakes do not even come to the exchanges. It obarzy investing after carrying out ico it is possible to save the money.
But there are also good projects, them it is visible at once. In such it is better to invest at ico stage. Because after an exit you can not buy already at low price tokens.

Not usually right, sometime the price of the token is much cheaper when it's first listed on the exchange site because the demand is not too high and the supply is already too much circulating.
Because of that you need to decide when is the right time to buy. But the main point is the price of the token will depend on the how that ico build the hype.

in my opinion it depends on your strategy and the risks you want to take. some people are taking bigger risks since they are gamblers and invest in ICOs directly but most people want to be more cautious and have something as the base of their speculation before they invest so they wait for the coins to be on the exchanges and they wait for them to have some history at least and show some signs before jumping on board or staying away.

when it comes to making profit from pump and dump tokens then everything you think you know goes out of the window. there is no product and research or anything else like that. there is only a pump and a dump and also the ability of you to detect them and whether you are capable of making profit or not.

when the token is listed it becomes possible to detect the pump but before that it is impossible to know whether their pumping team succeeds or gets crushed under the dumping of hundreds of bag holders.

I prefer to buy when they are newly listed on the market. than buying at ICO, even though when ICO we can get a bonus. but it's much cheaper if we buy when newly listed in the market. maybe if you're lucky, you can buy at a price of 10% of the ICO price.

yes, i am complestely agree. i will do it also, buy when it is first listed in exchange. because i think it is a good way to know that tokens can be trade just in case. and to know that the project is not scam.

Under current conditions it is not meaningful to buy during ICO (I don't even participate in pre-sale phases). I sometimes choose projects very shortly after their introduction to exchanges - there is still possibility to make some short term profit.

If this ICO is very hot, you can not buy with ICO price when list on exchange. You can wait and buy at dip when they sell token.

ICO is a predefined investment so we should check the OP post then analyse the right project. So we can confirm the good project surely we will earn decent profit. But after listing the exchanges many peoples sell continuously so we will never expect it will be good investment. Presale and private sale is the right time for investment but we must pick carefully otherwise our total investment will going to dustbin.

If the ICO based the price on ETH that falling right now. For example they said 1ETH=$500 worth 5000 token but ETH right now is falling under $200 and if they released it on exchange then the price will surely drop.  This is the right choice to buy when we see it on exchange under a low value ETH price.

I think that will depend on your preference wherein you want to be very sure on your investment, you may buy altcoins that are in the exchanged. However, if you had made a thorough  research of a certain ICO, then invest in ICO since price is low and yet once it will be on the exchange sites, usually ICO tokens becomes better and most of it were increasing.

It is theoretically more advantageous, of course, to buy during ico. But much more risky. And We must very carefully choose the project.
after implementation, it is better to see whether the project is worthwhile, whether it has prospects. Although here nothing prevents him in one day spoil and the abyss

With the latest ICOs I can prefer more to buy after a project is listed on an exchange. Most of the project are dumped when they are list on a (de)centralized exchange.

I prefer to buy after the exchange as after ico the coin goes down at the lowest price its better to buy and then they will grow as the coin gets good administration and increase in the volume and trading it will make a good profits to us, some of the ICO are scam so its better be alert and invest as they get vanished in a night and we just lose our money.

As a general rule, if the ICO offers a big bounty share, don't ever think about buying it in ICO. The token will be dumped by bounty hunters the moment it hits exchange. So if you somehow believe in the ICO (which is a rare case, I can't see any reason to buy an ICO token), wait for it to get to an exchange, then buy after the dumping session finished. You will get it with a huge discount.

A very topical issue, especially in the last few months, because many projects simply can not collect anything, this is definitely related to the ICO industry because very many projects are actually scammers who have already collected a lot of money.

i would say if your really interested on a token.
just check if the ICO offers so much discounts.
and if they will distribute the token together along with the hunters.
this thing could impact the initial token value when it hits the exchange.
when you eliminate those things, you could probably join the ICO.
and one more thing, check out where exchange they wanted to get listed.
when the exchange has a decent volume that would be wonderful.

It may be true for some coins, but if you're worried having lower price after ICO, well you should definitely do your research. If you believe on their project, then go for it during ICO, but why not also try coins in exchange. So far, the market is performing well.

In my opinion, both buying in ICO and exchange has its sides.

1. Buying in ICO
You will get the clear and exact price of the tokens or coins. additionally, you will also get some bonuses. The important thing is that when the ICO project is very promising and good projects for the future, it is better to buy them in ICO as long as you can avoid the scam. It can help the ICO project to reach softcap and the token or coin with the good project can be on the exchange exactly. But of course, never think to sell them after ready on exchange because ICO coin is very potential for long term holding.

2. Buying on Exchange
This way is the very safe ways to avoid the scam projects. The tokens and coins already on the exchange are the legit one and you can buy them after exchange with the low price. Why? Sometimes, many bounty hunters sell their coins with the price under the ICO price, SO, it will give you more opportunities.

Right now it is pointless to partisipate in ICOs. Almost all coins go under ICO price after entering the market and are floating there without signs of life. So, it is more profitable to buy them from exchange than during ICO.
But it is important to keep an eye on upcoming ICO in case some potentially interesting project will show up. But now more than ever, projects for investment need to be selected with extreme caution and care. After all, it is better not to earn additional money than to lose them.

There is much bigger loss-scammed ratio than real bonus offers, if you take for example 100 ICOs. You must be extra careful when choosing ICO. But there are some that hit a lot of X when launch on exchange, so if you know what to look, you should be fine!

Decisions as this varies depending on the levels of research you indulge yourself in
Some icos tokens are good for purchase during ico
While some ico tokens are good for purchase after listed on exchange

Either ways you choose depends on the information you have

While its smart to just buy one exchanges because when that happens you need not to worry whether the project can be a scam. Price of the token also become cheaper which means you save yourself from getting stress thinking you loss some money.

There is a good thing why you might want to buy during ICO though. First there are bonuses when buying in ICO which some goes up to 25%. And at the same time, Investors receive the token the first which means when the token gets listed, yo have the opportunity to dump the first while the price is much higher. You hit it big time because you already gain 25% bonus and you buy back at the cheaper price when bounty hunters dump what they got. These are the positive sides.

If that particular ICO which you want to participate is giving an extra bonus to big investors then see if you can find people who wants to invest in that ICO and try to pool it that way you can grab the lucrative bonus. Otherwise seeing the recent trend its better to wait till it hits exchanges and gets dump and then pick it up at a cheaper price.

I also notice this and has a plan but Im still worrying because what if the market will change in a few days, of course that project you are waiting especially if its a good project will increase its value after being listed on exchange and you will regret that you miss the chance to invest on its ICO.

Investing on ICO's and newly listed coin for me has the same risk.

Both you have mentioned has there benefits and limitations.
Investing in any ico is very risky and so that reward is also very big if everything's goes well and good. Quality hard work is required before choosing any ico. Some times some ico do well but during listed in exchange due to market conditions it trade bellow ico price that time you feel that it's better to wait for the coin get listed and buy even lower price and risk involved is also became less.

Personally, my decision will be dependent on the market situation. For instance, in times like this if the project seems promising I would wait till it hits exchanges. It's constant most people will dump immediately and this will serve as an opportunity for other to grab at cheap prices.

Almost always the case. Every ICO in the IPO or hold, or fall immediately. It is safer when you buy after the release of tokens on the exchange. As the price falls. And you see the Scam project or not. If you invest during the ICO, you can lose money, since the project can be a Scam!

For me it is better to buy after the coin got listed. Unlike the ICO,the risk is less if the coin was ready for trading. I will stay away from ICO's for now until the regulations for scam ICO's are not clear. Also, you will now the demand for the coin when it got listed and there are a lot of things you will discover once the coin was listed. If you are lucky and bounty hunters dumped their coin, you can buy a coin lower than the ICO price with bonus.

To be perfectly honest, I am not an investor, but nevertheless if I was investing on an ICO at this time, I would definitely buy only after it was traded on exchange.
All the ICOs I've seen this year (don't know the global data) have started trading fas below ICO price and stayed at that level
Not to mention that there is always the risk of scam that is partially eliminated if the coin is already traded
cheers

Like you, I noticed it to ! Once the ICO/s are finished and they get listed on crypto exchange/s, most of them are below ICO price based in the initial listing, maybe the reason of it is the unsuccessful launching of the ICO projects. But for me it is still better to buy on ICOs than markets because the tokens in ICOs are usually discounted.

Many investors nowadays are just waiting for a specific coin to hit the exchanges so they can buy more cheaper coins. This is the strategies now of some investors because its very normal for a new coin to hit lower price on the exchanges, so better to buy on the exchanges.

Yes, 99% of time it is true. People who buy in the end of the token sale are the most unlucky and also uneducated on how ICOs work in general .
We all know that bounty hunters dump their tokens as soon as they hit exchange but these unlucky investors do not know that.

Title: Re: Buy on ICO or buy after being exchanged?
Post by: jusjeruk on September 21, 2018, 07:13:05 AM
I think there are many possible benefits by buying on ICO. What is clear is: You help companies launch their products. There is also an opportunity to make profit selling ICO tokens after you buy them.
In many cases, crypto tokens released during ICO are sold at a fixed price in the amount of Bitcoins, eth or US dollars. The price is not supported by anything except the buyer's community trust in the development team to release this product successfully at some time in the future, so usually the token price is quite low on the ICO. After the project is developed and launched, the token value becomes secured with the product that is operating and real. And this phenomenon will lead to price increases and investors can sell their tokens for substantial profits.
However, keep in mind that not all benefits are guaranteed. If the ICO fails, all contributions will be returned to the sender. Even if it works, there is a possibility that the developer cannot send the final product and the token price will never rise. This is the risk that all ICO participants must take into account when they decide to contribute to any ICO.

On ICO you can buy with a very big discount, but when the coin comes out on the exchange it is traded below the ICO at times. However, there are projects in which there is a redemption of coins after ICO and product development, usually this is written in the roadmaps of projects, and here you can get income only from coins purchased on ICO. The price of such coins on the exchanges is growing and it is difficult to play on the decline.

50/50 never guess where will the new coin, I always buy at ICO, and the exchange, buying when the month, this time is enough to understand where at the moment the price is moving.

I prefer to just buy during the ICO if I really like the coin. They do sometimes dip on the DEX's but not worth missing out if you like the coin a lot.

It's depends on you and the project. Many big investors nowadays stop buying coins in ico and they wait for a listing cause in this down treanding market many coin drop it's price below it's ico price. But this only happens to average icos or below average icos. Cause we see in this bearish market some token like holo quark wan. They give good return before listing. And that's it. If you think that the project is good but some reason not many people know about that then wait and buy it after listening but if you this that project is too much good and also the popularity then it will be better.

more profitable when first listed on the market. because usually many sell below the ICO even up to 20% of the ICO price. and the risk that we have to bear is smaller than when the ICO. because we might have to wait a long time for the token to be listed on the market or the worst possibility the project is a scam. so not buying when the ICO is the right choice.

Buying ICO tokens during the public sale is really sometimes more profitable. But you should invest more money and earlier than others to receive the maximum discount. Without getting the maximum discount it is not profitable.

Yes, I bought bob's token (BOB) at hotbit exchanges 2 months ago. The price very under ICO price. And then I see the price of bob token up to 3 x now.
You should do the same with the SAIFU token.
Also not officially on stock exchanges at a 95 % lower price.

Btw, Is  there a brief summary of how the prices of ico change depending on the number of variables ?

Maybe the smartest idea could be buy after its been listed on the exchanges, when the price was dump, in that way, you were able to buy at the very low price, compared to buying at the ICO price, but when listed at the exchanges, the price was below ICO, which is not profitable sometimes to investors, so better apply right strategy.

I highly do not recommend buying now at the stage of ICO. I have not seen a single project that in the past 2-3 months entered the market and showed a price higher than ICO or the same. Basically, prices are 10 times smaller.

Currently, it would be better for someone to buy when the coin is already in the market because it would be easier for them to cash out and to trade. When you invest in ICO then you would have to wait for sometime before you would be able to exchange your coins and you don't even know when would that be. Some ICOs would take a year and for those who are impatient would not like it.

When you wait for the time that it will be listed in the exchange then you can still decide what price you would buy and you can do some technical analysis as well so that you can have an edge if its right time to buy or to sell. Currently, prices when listed in exchanges would be below ICO price so it would not really be good for those ICO investors even if they have bonuses.

that is really related with market conditions. if ico have really big hype it is really hard to buy that from exchanges. because people will pump that . but for example now it is very risky to invest projects during ico.
you can buy from excchanges beucase even best projects hardly collecting ethereums. and all of these projects getting rekt after coin distrubiton and unlock .

Due to continues downtrend of the market, I think buying coins in the ICO's stage it's not a good idea from now since the majority of coins now are below ICO's price after listed on the first exchange, but these all depend on a project if how they handle it!

Recently it did not become favorable to buy tokens on ico. After entry into the exchange all of them equally go down in price. So it is possible to wait for an exit and to buy at lower price.
Buying on the ICO also has the advantage, Because we can get 50% bonus. But it is better to buy when it is listed on exchanger because of this we can see if it will increase or it will fall.

I think there is some difference in Both that you mention. At first when you buy or Invest on ICO just invest in "Early Stage" when the Bonus is huge and Intact in that case if  something wrong was going to happen you are not losing heavy due to accumulated Bonus that you earned during the sale. And the Time and market condition also has a huge factor and influence why the price was down. But if you Buy on Exchange there is no Bonus and its fix.

You can buy tokens at ICO for a fixed price. And after entering the exchange, the price may rise sharply or fall quickly. Here everything depends on the demand for a coin. It is difficult to advise something in this case.

It's very hard to guess. If you think that the project is really worthwhile, it is better to buy when the ICO passes. But it happens that even good projects after the payment of the bounty and the listing on exchange, fall in price. But again I say, it's hard to guess.

I think buying on the market is better than buying on ICO because I have realized when ICO is being listed already some bounty hunters do selling and they dont care about the price of that token even if its low or high. Buying on a lower price and selling it in high price by waiting for that time to happen.

In a period like this personally I do only 2 options:
1) buy in presale or private sale with high discount (if I am 100% sure about to invest in the project)
2) buy after ICO is finished and has been listened in a exchange.

ICO price in most of cases actually falls after listing so I prefer waiting if I'm not 100% sure about the project.

It depend on quality of ICO project :). No matter if you're going to buy token of any ICO project from ICO or on exchange as long as it's a good project cause it's really difficult to be able to buy token from ICO if it's a really good ICO project so the only choice is buying from exchange and hold. But don't do that if project behind token is not really good.

If you want to look for a cheap price then awaits when this entry in Exchange is a good strategy. even many investors who wait for the bounty hunter to sell in the value the cheap so that when riding it will be getting a big profit. If purchased in the ICO could also get fairly low grades but when distributing in conjunction with the bounty hunter then it can be ascertained that the resulting value will not match expectations.

You already said it yourself that after listing in the exchange ICO Token always depreciate it's value. The wise move would be be wait until the dump or downtrend is over and buy the coin. But make sure that it has a potential because if it is a shitcoin, it will continue to depreciate upto the ground.

By avoiding buying into ICOs, you don’t have to worry about having your funds locked up. No more waiting for tokens to unlock, and no more waiting for them to list on exchanges. You now have the ability to buy tokens for ICOs that you originally couldn’t qualify for. For example, if your country didn’t allow you to buy an ICO, or you couldn’t qualify for the pre-sale due to not being a US Accredited Investor, you can avoid missing out by buying these tokens after they unlock and dump on an exchange like IDEX.

Both had disadvantages and advantages. We know there are so many projects that failed to list on an exchange due to low market or demands for the coin and buying before it during ICO could be a real gamble. Scams are every where also and you might just be caught like a fish in the net. On the other hand if the ICO succeeds, then you have the best opportunities being received from bonuses. On my part though I am just new to cryptocurrency, What I have often heard and seen on post on ICO telegrams is that a lot of people had been so eager to buy and support ICO before really listing it on an exchange. There are good responses from so many investors. You can see post with good comments and pictures with rockets tagged with " to the moon" and yet after sometime when it is listed on an exchange, so many comments then reads negatively, sometimes cursing the admins of the ICO telegrams due to sudden dumps of prices. Dumping is a common thing after it has been listed on an exchange and sometimes the blame goes to the bounty hunters. Whether true or not the point is this, most ICO experiences a lot of problem with the dumping of prices after it has been listed on an exchange and this is in my opinion a natural response from the investors who seemed to be worried about their money when prices dumps lower than the ICO value and when they see that the ICO projects seems to have not almost reached their softcaps.

As history shows, all coins after entering the stock market after some time fall in price. And if the project turned out to be fraud or unsuccessful, then it does not reach the exchange at all. members of the bouni program sell all the coins at once and the price drops. it is wise to wait for a while, to see how the team will show itself and which ones will find unimpaired. . study the project and buy when the price goes down.

The stated price of a coin on an ICO is often different from the price after listing, and not for the better. But this does not apply to all projects. Need to look at the project. You will help a thorough analysis. If the project is really worth it, there is a team of professionals behind it, a working product, then it is more profitable to buy tokens at the ICO stage.

I think that in the current situation, given the situation on the market, it is more profitable to buy tokens after they are released to the stock exchange. In my opinion if you want to invest in ICO, it's better to buy tokens after exchanging them. because if you buy coins at the ICO, it will take a long time to be exchanged and it is not clear where to exchange.
Many ICOs were got problem from listing to a certain exchange due to strict compliance. It really takes a long process but it depends on how the team working for it, or maybe there is problem with them.
The problem exist when many ICO goes into scam and a strict compliance for listing are imposed.

I don't invest in ICO for almost a year. The bear market has changed the game since Q1-Q2 2018 so now I play only in a bear side. I think there is still a room to fall so it isn't smart enough to get in alt now.

yeah that happen usually after listed in the market exchange, its have 2 reason why the prices drop after listing, first is because many investor after distribution coins their sell it, and the last is because the project is not enough good for invest, when you but it after listed i think is not recomended because the project is not interested so the potential to back growth is a little will happen

I think it's really cheap to buy ico but there is a risk of losing our money if Devvteam doesn't want to return if the project fails. But if you buy tokens then the risk isn't there. So it's up to you to choose. If I want to buy tokens ..

I would generally recommend that you refrain from ICO, now the market is below and you can buy multiple Altos at good prices, which will undoubtedly make a good growth, but the question is when no one knows, so buy and be patient.

Yes, waiting for ico project to be listed on the exchange then buy, it would be a wise idea because the ICO market is too difficult at the present time, a lot of projects die and can not grow when the collapse of crypto directly affects ico, buy in ico only makes us passive and very easy to lose money. Buying when the projects listed on the exchange will be safer, especially we can buy at very low prices when a lot of hunters and investors will dump at the time the project is listed, accumulation and buying during that period will make us more profitable in the future but on condition, we need to buy good and potential projects.

In fact, the buying strategy after entering the stock exchange looks better. At the very least, you know that the project is already out. Of course there are risks that developers will abandon the project but they are minimal.

At the bearest of the market it might change, there wont be any reason for the dump. The fund collected from ICOs were losing there value as bitcoin price was dropping. There are more effective regulations that could help projects that are coming up lately and better valuation for most of these projects. It is still a good move to purchase tokens that had dumped in the market already.

I prefer buying tokens on exchanges after their listing, because the prices during the tokens sales are pretty high and due to the market conditions the token always dumps. Just wait for several months till the market recovers and buy during the ICO.

The first suggestion is to wait for wait for exchange listing. Second is think in deep before buying any token or coin. Do not invest any bad coin. Be careful from a scam ICO. Always take a look scam section of bitcointalk. People now so conscious.

Best of all. First take part in a bounty. During that time, you will get much more information about a project and you can decide to take part in ICO or not. I like such ICO as from Huobi Russia. Their token will be tradeble on their already running exchange after ICO. During their bounty you can get much more their tokens. Also they are a part of Huobi Global, this is means much!

I think it all depends on the project. If the project is very strong and has a good bonus, it is possible to buy it at the ICO. But it is a big risk. Since there is a chance that the project is a scam. Or, after entering the stock exchange will not be traded.

A bear market is always a bad time for ICOs, as prices drop for all coins. However it can still be better to buy at ICO as bonuses are often offered, and some coins don't hit exchanges for a long time... so a bull market might have returned.

I think buying after exchanging will be more workable for your profit because when you are putting your own money by lending the money from something then if the profit was not been enough for your investment it will you some of the difficult situation for you so that's why I am saying after exchanging will be good idea.

Actually if you choose a good ICO project then you have to buy their tokens when the Pre ICO or ICO takes place. Because when Pre ICO or ICO prices are usually lower than when entering the exchange. But keep in mind that you must choose an ICO project that has a good rating.

I know quite a lot of potential Korean projects, it's always sold out when you sell. however, these projects are 3 times faster than the ICO selling price. So I recommend if you find a good ICO project, wait until it is listed on exchange

There are some projects that if you wait to buy on exchange, I stead of buying during ICO, you might end up buying at higher price.
I came across a project recently, although, yet to list on exchange, but with the look of things, it might not sell any way lower than ICO price.
The name of the project is Bidooh.
I will not be surprised if the price increases on exchange.

I think the majority of opinion will be buying on the exchanges. Reason being that, with the recent continuous downward movements in the market, it isn't uncommon to see coins, fall by over 80% upon listing. Meaning losses in excess amounts on the part of ICO investors. The wisest thing now by any potential investor is to hold on for exchange listings before they can actually invest. Thus gives them an opportunity to buy these coins/tokens at a much cheaper price.

I think considering the present market conditions, it is safer to buy on the exchange than to buy at ico because most projects that list on exchanges now tend to lose their value. So why rush to get it high at ico when you can buy low on the exchange

Investing in ICOs are not so profitable lately  as it was before and has it`s risks that the price will dump after being
listed on exchanges. I am rather investing in new ICOs when they are more established on the market.
The reward is smaller but the risk as well.

From what i have been seeing , it is no longer as profitable as it use to be during ICO where you can make very huge profit, i think this could be as a result of the choice of exchang,so  buying from exchange is now  cheaper and better, Till when the market stabilizes.
Then we go back to buying ICO

If I wait after listing, I may not ensure that the coin that I suggest having great future will be successful and hot the market. However, seeing the market condition right now, I think that buying them on ICO or exchange will give us the benefits. They may be different, but they have different, plus and minus sides. SO personally, buying on ICO is good enough.

I do not want an ICO to take me down with my investment so I rather wait these days for the more established projects to invest in them. Not taking the risk anymore to invest in early phase of the project as I had bad experiences in the past. (delay, not being listed, not raising the soft cap etc.)

buy at the ICO does not guarantee it will be good when it makes on the market. even many of the ICO that even contain old coins which ultimately did not enter into the market so as inhibit the results. might be better to wait for when they enter the market and awaiting disposal conducted by the bounty hunter at cheap prices. However, analysis of the coins that are believed to be also good to do and not recklessly pick only.

Much better to buy on ICO with a confirmed decent exchange rather than buying when it gets listed. In ICO, you get bonuses so you still profit even though it starts dumping. Buying after listing is very risky as you don't actually know if the price will ever increase again.

I do not think of the risk if you buy a good ICO. But the issue there now is the fact that we are still in bear market and many tend to drop in price almost immediately. It takes a lot of time and patience this days for a listed ICO in an exchange to go above the ICO price. Those days i prefer to buy in an exchange but as it is now i prefer to buy during ICO only when the project is very strong and solid and in conclusion, always do your own research before investing.

If you got into an ICO as private investor and think there is a high proportion of you getting something out from it in a very reasonable way at least because private investors tend to buy with good bonuses and i do not think most of them are always at risk that is why we still see them investing and promoting such project even if some of them knows that such project is fake but the assurance from the CEO that they will list in an exchange is something that helps them to keep investing...

Since last year I notice that the majority of the ICOs launched in the exchanges were far below the price of the ico and investors were losing more and there was a lot of complaint from investors. Although such cases are rear. The level of your research and how much you understand how most of these projects operates and the market system, will help you to project correctly what will happen.

Some investors or traders prefer to buy an altcoin after being listed in an exchange, it is simply because most altcoin gets dumped. Hence, the price on the exchange is sometimes cheaper than the ICO price. It takes sometime for some ICOs to reach their ICO price once it gets listed. That's why some choose to buy on exchange rather than during ICOs.

Well, I think you answered your own question.
If you see something that is usually $10, and it's on sale for $7, why would you wait to buy?
Of course, you need to consider how good the new project is and if it will last.
But due to market conditions, there are basically a lot of good projects that lost value.
Doesn't mean they won't be successful.

That's why investing in an ICO is a bad choice now.
It is much better to just wait.
If the ICO fails, you lose nothing.
If it makes it to an exhcange and the price drops, you get it for even cheaper.

It seems to me that most of the coins are very much cheaper at the time when they enter the exchange. This means that buying on the exchange is more profitable.

Many projects are delaying their token listings and due to the bearish market the whole listing process is prolonged.
And when finally listed in many cases the token price dumps. For this reason I invest  only when the project
got listed on exchanges.

in my opinion it's natural because they put their coins in the market when the market conditions are still not really good, when like this there are so many people who need money including me so that when there is an opportunity to sell then I will sell and this is what happens to people therefore if the coin has entered the stock then the price will immediately drop because many sell their assets

It's better to buy the ico token after being listed it into a exchange because the price get dump or less after listed it in exchange because market will also set the price of every coins.

Recently it did not become favorable to buy tokens on ico. After entry into the exchange all of them equally go down in price. So it is possible to wait for an exit and to buy at lower price.

Agree, its better to wait for it to list on exchange instead buying on ico time.. Because we cant predict nowadays if the ico project will success or not... Even if ico ended but still some of them have difficulties in listing their project on exchanges till the time even the project reached SC/HC  it will turned into scam or failed project...

If you join the ICO of the right project, then you can make a nice profit. But you have to do a good research. Or you can lose all your money. But if you buy the stock after you start trading on the stock market, then you can sell that tokens without losing all your money even if the price of token falls. It's a less risky way to buy a token which in trade on some exchanges, but I think your profit may be less. So you have to evaluate these possibilities and make the choice yourself.

I don't really think that this growth is the beginning of a bull run however I do want to believe in it)) Personally I'm convinced that the real growth will start either in second half of this year or in 2020 when Bitcoin halving will take place. And now we are witnessing just a kind of correction after a long drop and flat price movement.

Buying on ICO stage is very risky if you are not researching of the token that are you are buying for because many of the investors now a days don't really understand what is the purpose of the coin or token that they are buying. I recommend to buy on ICO but make sure that you do research first because the potential of increasing after listing on the market is very high.

Whether the project is scam or not, it can be verified. Whether to buy tokens at ICO or exchange is a difficult question. Over the last few months in the majority of cases, the price of tokens after listing on exchange has been falling. In the current situation - when new increases of prices start, it will probably be more profitable to buy tokens during ICO.

Its not about price going up after listing, its about bonuses you get when investing on ICO. Some traders are actually taking it a serious business to buy on ICO for bonuses. Being an ICO participant gives your the to have the tokens in your hands while the token is abut to get listed. Its now just up to you to take profit or wait for the expected price.

It is better to wait until the price falls to its minimum and when it starts a gradual increase, buy it, so at least it is clear the project is not doomed to death, and if you buy at once, the probability of losing all the money invested is too high

I don't think so, because if the project is good enough and has a high trust from the community, the price won't be dumped. Buying underprice token from an exchange just after the token listed same as burning down your own money, just my opinion.

It depends on token distribution. It depends some factors like How much bonus was given to early investors? And the potential of the project. ICO is quite risky investment and massive research is needed prior to invest into any project.
If it is not special project, price falls immediately after it enters into exchange. So if anyone wants any token badly, may be after ICO is the right time to accumulate. But please do not consider it as financial advice. Cause every crypto is unique

Everything depends of course on the project itself, but as happens in most cases, it is better to buy all the tokens for pre-sale, because at this stage of sales the investors get the biggest discounts on these tokens and on these bonuses, you can also buy after the completion of sales tokens on decentralized exchanges and soon sell when the token will be listed on large exchanges.

Most definitely. A huge loss on main sale investor's dollars is par for the course for ICOs in the past 12 months and it doesn't look like changing any time soon.

Mainly smart investors prefer to buy for cheap prices and it doesn't matter where they get these tokens. Pre ICO and private sale prices are cheaper than ICO price and there is no guarantee for early investors about profit/loss ratio after getting  listed on exchanges.

Definitely after the first exchange listing, because it does not make sense to pay 10 cents per coin during the TGE phase. It is a much better decision to wait for several more months and to get the same token for 1 cent.

Title: Re: Buy on ICO or buy after being exchanged?

Actually, it depends on the project. Investing in ICO project is a good decision if that ICO confirmed as a good project. Because in ICOs, people get a huge bonus, even some ICO gives 40-50% bonus! Even if you invest in Presale or Private sale then you will have more bonus! That's why people still continue investing in ICO projects. After listing on exchanges, coin's price can be dumped, but still, ICO investors will be the win. But if that project doesn't well enough then buying from the exchange would be the best choice.

Today now it is obvious. After the ICO project finishes, the projects coin prices drops 1/10. If you bought a coin from $1 after the ICO time you can buy them $0.1 in the exchanges. This problem comes out because of the bounty hunters. Ofcourse i am not blaming them, they work and need money. I believe that if the ICO projects pays with another coins there would be no problem. They can pay with BTC or ETH and that time their coins wouldn't loose their worth.

The project will not push through if you will not buy on their ICO, this is the reason why they do crowdfunding so they can go on with the project and launch their platform, and besides they offer a generous bonus for participants, so it's worth to invest in ICO.

There is no universal answer to this question.
I want to point out one interesting moment to buy tokens - right after bounty distribution. Most of the bounty hunters are dumping their tokens ASAP.
The price usually drops more than 50% on this day and tokens can be bought cheaply.

That's true but you will not see that happens if the project did not get enough funds to push with the project, of course, it's good to buy when it is dumping in exchange but you also need to buy in their ICO stage to support the project.

The decision to buy during ICO or after listing depends on how promising the project appeared to the investor after performing the thorough research into the project. Some projects can be seen from the scratch that right after listing, the price will begin to rise due to the concept of the project and how demanding the product of the project is.With such projects, buying during ICO is the best.

Aside from big discounts, if you buy during ICO, it helps the project to become successful. If the project was successful, you can surely earn huge profit. If you buy in exchanges, there's a huge difference on how much you can possibly earn when you buy during ICO. You missed the opportunity of earning huge profit if you buy in exchanges.

This is always happening when the token is not yet listed for a long time. Some of the investor or bounty hunters dump their token at lowest price as possible just to get out. I think if we want to avoid losing big is not to go all your funds in one ico.

I agree too that we buy in ico because we will never know what will be the outcome. If the price will go down or up. If the price went down and you think the development will lift it in the future then leverage your investment. Buy at very low price to even your holdings.

With the increasing rate of ICOs failure upon exchange listing, I think it is most profitable and safe to buy on the exchange than to get into the ico. But projects that are very good with a good team of market analyst tend to wait after their ico for a better market to list in order to protect their investors from dump. For such ICOs it is better to get into the crowdsale than to wait for exchange listing before you buy.

The example of the BitTorrent project showed us that there are projects whose tokens are worth buying during the ICO, because after entering the stock exchange they will cost several times more expensive. In the case of BitTorrent, investors managed to increase their investments by an average of 800%. Therefore, I believe that the tokens of such projects should be bought on ICO.

- Indeed, the biggest benefit from buying during the ICO period is that we can get more incentives and bonuses, buy at low prices and get a lot of support, a gift is probably too attractive for all investors but perhaps this attraction is only good in the past. The current time is as you say, we can buy at a low price but the price when listed on the exchange, it will be lower than the price we buy, and this is the case where we have a little luck, the worst case is that the project is not listed on the exchange, that would be a big loss, thus ignoring the temporary benefits, choosing the safe option as buying after it is listed.

It is the ICO that makes the bounty hunting industry alive. And in that case, we bounty hunters also contribute to the development of the ICOS, so, investors and hunters let us be united to support an ICO.

I came across a particular coin that those who bought during the UCO will be good they did, because it will yield and show good growth on exchange. I like projects that are constantly undergoing developed and that have hypes being built around them before listing. There have been such projects in the past and their later was greater.

buy it when ico starts, especially when it hasn't reached the soft cap, because the exchange rate is definitely still low. and when the token is on the exchanger, it may increase many times.

Many ICO's offer bonuses for people who contribute to ICO's during Pre-sale. I am part of an upcoming ICO project and we are going to offer two great bonus stages for people hopping on our Pre-ICO campaign. They will be able to get more tokens for a smaller contribution. We will also target a specific group of people who will be most interested in getting as many tokens as possible to use them on our marketplace and hold them for additional bonuses.

Additionally, we will heavily work on informing our contributors why they should hold the token and not sell it upon being listed on the first exchange. We are going to release a very useful product and we are confident that we are going to have a very stable start. It is a matter of communicating with your supporters as much and as often as you can to let them learn better about your project. It is pretty simple but involves consistent work for a long period of time.

Its good to invest during ICO because the price is cheaper and they are giving bonuses for the early investors, but the problem is there are many scam ICOs nowadays and its hard to determine if the project is genuine or not. Thats why its important to do an extensive research before investing your hard-earned money, remember scammers are everywhere.

At this point I prefer to wait until the coin get listed in exchanges before buying just to make sure.

if you buy ico when trading it is usually a high risk because most ico if it has reached the highest price and you buy it the worst possibility is a severe price reduction can even reach -100%, but if you buy ico when the public sale / presale loss risk will decrease but that valid if it does not get a scam / unclear project

Buying on ICO is recommended if the project is solid enough to grab the coins before certain pump. If the project is honestly bullshit, then buying as a process wont freaking make you earn profits. So, keep your eyes open and focus on the quality and the need of the service.

If a token price keep dumped after listing on exchanges then it is not worth to invest because the chaces of getting recovered is very less so invest on token which price grown after the ICOs are considered to be better for long term investment.

It's better to buy when the coin hit the market, you can see from there if there is demand and the price is not falling and of course some ICO will not get in the market, because devs have run away with investors money, this is the real scenario in the ICO.

therefore it will be more profitable than buying it when the ICO takes place at ICO prices.

For me it depends on ICO kind If its a promising ,useful and has true use case I will still participate during the early ICO rounds because the token price in these stage was still cheap and the Bonus round is intact. I will choose to invest in ICO rather that to buy on the exchange  if those ICO platform characteristics is present.

After all, the price after entering the exchange in almost every case is less than the ICO price. The choice is obvious, if, of course, the project is still not fraudulent. But if the project is powerful and in demand, as much as possible tested, then there is an opportunity to earn good money on bonuses during ICO

Here's what i'm doing recently
If the project (good project and u wanna invest) have some bounty campaign, then I'll wait till the distribution of bounty token and then buy from when it's available on exchange official or not official listed (i.e buy on forkdelta, etc). other mean i'm not buying on ICO phase.

But if there's didn't have bounty campaign, then Pre-ICO or Private Sale is good choice i think

If you looked at the ICO that just get in, in the market, you will get disappointed because the coins are dropping up to 80% of their ICO price even if you have a large bonus you will still lose your investment, so it's better to buy when it hit the exchange.

with the constant dump in price post ico, it looks like buying from the exchange seems more profitable this days, this is largely as a result of huge discount given to private investors in projects, once token is listed on exchange the private investors will dump and crash the price, i don't believe the little percent given to hunters can affect price that much, even if you miss out on ico don't worry too much because you can get in exchange even 3x cheaper than ico ;D

Buy token during ICO is the most shady aspect based on the dump after been listed on an exchange, Buy ICO tokens after been listed on an exchange is still the best as the price at this time will drop. Is advisable to always buy token during ICO which i considered as the smartest step.

So many people are not liking to invest in the ico. Now this is your decision that you have to invest in ico or not.

There is no single solution for buying cryptocurrencies. Each project must be approached individually. For example, bittorrent gave a few X when listing on the stock exchange, but I'm sure that after a while it will be possible to buy below the ICO price. It all depends on the purpose you're pursuing.

It seems to me that the investor is only trying to smile and this is a profitable investment in a really promising project. In many cases, even 50 percent discounts during the sale of the company’s ico token may be disadvantageous, given the scenes after listing on the stock exchanges.

depending on so many factors. Since generally the price of token may fall when listed on exchange, you may consider buying after listing but you may not be able to buy more especially when the token is not listed on good exchange. I have seen so many token hardly have 0.1BTC volume in 24 hours. except if you are very patient. you can be buying little by little and be accumulating the token.

Now such a situation in the crypto market and the ico market, that it is better to buy tokens or coins after ico. Most really cost several times cheaper than ico prices and that would not pay more is better to buy on the exchange. But there are ico, which cryptoactive is already in demand for ico and continues to gain momentum when entering the stock exchange. There are few such ico, but they are there, and of course it is better to buy at the beginning of ico and you can get a discount.

Of course very less. We need to keep focus on project instead of ICO prize. Do your own calculation and decide your points to sell.

That’s why we have to analyze well every project, because investors are more wiset now and they will just by a new coin who successfully listed on the exchanges. This is the common problem of a new ICO, i hope that they will still continue to work so in the future they will become a big coin too.

You have to consider this one, ICO really takes time to make profit and there is no assurance for that. Many investors don’t want to get into new projects right now because of this risk. If you invest after the exchange listing, the possible pump can still not be sure but at least you have time to buy that coin at a cheaper price, the next move for you will depend on your strategies.

That's just the point that it is precisely because of the state of the cryptocurrency market that new projects show poor results after listing. In addition, I would like to mention that the state of the market also affects the state of the market and companies, which very little attracts investors. But how to change this situation and what affects the poor state of the cryptocurrency market, so far no one sounds able to.

For a very legit project, I would prefer to buy during the ICO because such projects may launch at prices above the ICO. But for the weak ones or not too viable ones, it is best you wait till exchange.
I also use the same method, but it was before ICO conditions like now.

because at the moment I prefer to buy ICO after entering the exchange because it is easier to analyze compared to when the ICO happened because I had experienced several failures in buying ICO during ICO.

It depends on a project itself. You can compare a perspective ICO that sold out 2,5 billion tokens and have collected a hard cap, and project that has barely reached the soft cap. In first situation, there would be no dump and in the second one there would be a huge one.

For all project I follow, most of them is always dump till 10x from the ico price.
So better wait on the exchange to buy

If the project is really worthwhile, or, for example, has a strong level of hyip, then it is probably more profitable to buy at the initial sale stage, because such projects can give a strong increase from the first minutes after the listing.

If the project is that good, you should buy on ICO to support it and when it hits the exchange then buy more. The price will surely dumped hard after it puts on exchange. Hold it until the price is right.

In current scenario you must buy something after the coin is being listed on any exchange. But if you are of risky nature and giod analytical skill about judgeing the ico then you can invest in ico because a successful ico give you multiple return in no time

I would rather participate to their bounty campaign than investing to their project. Unless they have a potential to to increase in the long run.

After ICO when token hit on exchange you have to wait to dump but occasionally tokens go up after hitting exchange.

At the moment it is more profitable to buy of course for after the release of the coin on the exchange. After all, the price immediately drops several times (on average 10 times). But as soon as the market comes to life, it will be better to buy on ICO

Currently investing in ICOs is very risky compared to before now because there's usually low buy order once they hit exchanges, and as a result the price continue to fall. It's better to buy after it has been listed if you like the project.

This is tricky sometimes it is better to wait out the  ICO phase and buy in exchange the coins that will likely drop after the Ico while at the other times his better to buy in the ico stage so that you can benefit from the increase in price, after the ico. Although there is no way to fully judge how the coin will behave but you can at least try to choose a particular strategy to follow

Some others usally direct invest in ICO since they're trust on its platform regarding of the result of their research about it. But,  for me, since I'm not really wise to choose a good ICO I just wait for it to put an exchange to determine as well if they're going put in a better exchanges such binance, kucoin, bittrex which is has a large volume. So that I can easily execute buy and sell in that scenario.

In the case of ICO, there is always the possibility that the project will fail or prove to be a scam. However, imagine that each potential investor will wait for the ICO to be listed on the exchange. In this way, none of the projects will reach hardcap. And even the softcap may be out of reach.

Now, when a huge number of projects after the end of ICO cannot collect enough money for their development, it is definitely worth waiting for the coin to appear on any stock exchange, and only then make a decision about a purchase. If you do it the other way around, big problems are possible.

I think that there are still different situations and no need to blame people for stupidity. In any case, due to the active PR of cryptocurrency and the entire business in the cryptocurrency market, many people have given up their real main job to work with cryptocurrency. If we consider that cryptocurrency for many is the only source of income, then they want or not a person, and they have to sell something to pay their bills on a daily basis.

coins purchased from ico have greater profit collectivity because of the purchase bonus effect that occurs in several phases offered, but this also cannot be separated from the enormous risk. there is no denying that buying coins in the exchange after the moment of the first phase is safer, the biggest advantage is from the initial investors because their sell orders immediately turn into maximum profits.

It is fully depends on you. And also depends on what coin you want to invest. Now most of the ico coins were going below from its ico price. And that'd why its sometime better to buy coins after listing.  Or buy during private or  presale. Now a days market is not going so well. So most of the coins lost its price or dumped by investors after immediate listing. So most of the holder wait for the listing and then buy at a low price. But if you want to buy a good ico coins then its hard. You have to put your money in ico time. So this whole thing is depends on the project you want to invest.

Buying coins after entering the exchange market is very good because we can find out how far the coin develops. And when you first enter the exchange market, the price of a coin is a dump or remains stable. If the price of a coin stays stable, I think it's very good to buy because I'm sure if the price of the coin will definitely rise.

Initial coin offerings are the equivalent of startups in the businness world and as such can be subject to a range of risks. For cryptos, the potential rewards can also be astronomical. It is not unusual to see 10x ,20x or more ROI especially in a bull market. As a rule,do not invest more than you can afford to lose and spread your risks.

It all depends on the project. If the project is medium and little-known, then even after entering the stock exchange it may continue to fall in price. And if the projects have a big advertising and scroll to a large exchange, such as Binance, then they are greatly increasing in price before the listing and buying them already on the stock exchange is not as profitable as during ICO.

since we are no longer in 2017 where crypto was at it's highest peak, buying from exchange seem to be a better option, the bonus % given to private investors by ico founders just to get the needed funds to establish their project is one of the reasons there constant dump once any ico manage to get listed in any exchange,

they have to cash out initial investment so they sell at rediculous prices, then small investors will suffer, as long as ico's keep offering private investors such huge bonus, dump will always occur, and more reason exchange will be a better option.

I suggest you to buy on ICO sale and after sale when their token / coin already listed on exchanges.
I don't think buy the token only in exchange is a smart step as investor, because the ICO maybe won't raised enough funds from the sale.
If that happening, you won't get the chance to buy their token in the exchanges because they failed.

I've been an investor of ICO and I can guarantee that it's not worth if you're not a big investor the only advantage if you're an investor is that you can get a discount, airdrop and other things but if you think that the project will be known for it's uniqueness I suggest that you just wait for it to be listed in exchange and wait for the those people who are dumping their coins and buy it all at low price then sell it on when it rises.

The investors on ICO are holders since they bought it at let's say 2$ but when it hits the exchange it might drop to 0.1$

When we buy coins / tokens when they are listed on the exchange, our risk is also quite large if their prices are too low compared to ICO prices, especially you must see their volume, if it is too small, you should not participate will be the best choice

In the current situation it's not good to buy on ICOS because when it gets listed on exchange the price is 10x lower than the ICO price, for me it's better to wait and buy it on exchanges because with small amount of capital you can buy a lot.

I think that is not the smart step to buy tokens in the exchange even you can buy there a dip price of tokens, i believe smart step is to buy during the ICO because you can get there a huge of bunos for the investors if you want to buy in there.

If you are not sure that investing in ICO you better go to the Crypto market. And buy coins that are already established and have a large trading volume. It is indeed not easy to invest in ICO because many ICO projects are a scam. So many people hesitate to invest.

what if the ico is scam ?  No listing will happen , that also means that you cant get anything even cents because no one will get interested to buy your coins  .

But atleast buying during ico have lots of bonuses while there is no known rewards if you bought the coin on exchange  .  thats there pros and cons  .

ICO is getting worse and more people are inclined to invest in IEO and STO because this is a new revolution in this market. It can be seen that the IEO has been very successful in recent months because almost all IEO projects are sold very quickly and have achieved great success. I believe in the future we will see many more good projects and the IEO will completely replace ICO

It all depends on the hype of the project,  bro. For many projects is better to wait for exchange listing, as bounty hunters and early investors with high discounts might liquidate their tokens for a quick profit.

However,  if the hype is huge (see BitTorrent) the price will increase significantly when the coin touches an important exchange.

I prefer buying on exchangers after listing the tokens because of much lower price than the ico prices. and once the tokens dumped price it os the tjme to buy on exchangers and sell if it pump.  you can make it a multiple times to make money easier.

it becomes a difficult choice now. where possible buy when the initial entrance of Exchange would be more beneficial. But if the wait for it, the ico will not be successful. We have to invest in a project that is really nice. If the project has developed and markets I think invest in ico or the open market I think there is no problem.

There are instances that buying in ICO prices is the best and when it gets listed, the prices goes 5x - 20x but it is very rare. But today with the recent ICOs, it does not happen anymore and they go far below their prices after listing so it's smarter to buy after on exchanges.

indeed there are some ico that when they enter the exchange the price can be more expensive as you mentioned but it is not all and on average most ICOs are 75% the price is destroyed when they enter the market, and worse this happens when the price of bitcoin falls like this time.

Both have their pros and cons but the pros of buying after hitting to me outweighs the cons. For one, you wont be a victim of ICO fraud, you won't be left with tokens which actually worth less than your investment when it hits exchange, you actually buy at the market value.

I think if we all have a plan to buy coin/token after exchange and not involved in ico, we will not find them in any exchange. So maybe after doing some research and we decide want to invest, better if we split our fund, half for ico and half after exchange.

It is true that many ICO tokens are far from the ICO price when it has been exchanged in the market. Almost all the coins that I have have not reached the ICO price. In my opinion, I am more happy to buy tokens after being in the market exchange. Tokens that are clearly in the market exchange, the tokens are more reliable. If we buy from ICO, it takes time that is usually not fast enough to achieve exchange, especially if it can be longer when the softcap has not been reached.

Many people are caught in injury because the coins they have fallen in price. But if you still want to invest in ICO, of course, you have to do research. Check from various aspects so that you can find a reliable ICO.

It is hard to give exact answer of this question. What i am doing is , proper research before investment.

At the moment i am not investing in any project. I did my last investment in Ankr Network and they comes with product launch and listed on exchanges on 5th March 2019 and doing very good.

That's why proper research is required before you invest in any project.

Not true for all projects.   If we will look at good projects like Ankr , LTO network , Zilliqa and some others... they never hit their ICO price after listing. So i think we need to do proper research before investment. I know some good projects do bad now a days, so luck is also a factor we can consider.

I think that now attempts to take part in ICO projects from Binance are just an HYIP that sooner or later will bring losses to so many people who want to participate in these projects. All the coins that have now been created are just empty and have no value. Why do they grow 5 times?

The risk-reward for buying into ICO phase is better. Even if the project fails, you still get your funds since they will refund it (unless they are scammers). You also get large bonuses in pre-ico so even if the price drops upon listing, you are still selling with profit. If you buy after listing though, chances are the profit is not much.

- I agree that the decision is dependent on each project but in the present time, projects seem to be not too suitable for us to invest, it contains too many risks, many projects are considered very potential and it will be successful but after a long wait, the listing has not yet appeared, many investors have been stuck in their beliefs. So, seeking assurance, we should buy after being listed, at least we know what we are holding, it still has value, we can even buy at cheaper prices when I see most projects have the same status, the price listed is lower than ico

maybe this depends on the project. sometimes, truly promising projects are always finished with pre-sale, and enter the market at a high price. so, buying on the market can have an impact if you do target the product of the project. however, many people always wait when the project is listed on a market for several reasons. one of them is a dump.

Buying at ICO will be more profitable because you will get a bonus that will increase income, but you have to do the right analysis before doing it. Many projects that have no use value when entering the stock exchange, the price becomes low and even goes to zero, so you must be careful in choosing projects if you choose ICO. Buying during an exchange will certainly be safer and will benefit if you are able to analyze market movements.

I think that depends on the potential of the ICO project. I often see that when ICO coins have entered the exchange market, prices immediately fall. Of course, this is the result of the many people who throw away ICO coins. So, you can buy ICO coins when you have entered the exchange market and wait for the coin price to decline.

In order to make such a decision, you should know the details of selling tokens at each of the ICO stages, and basically about the size of bonuses for each of the sales stages.
If the bonus at the first stage is very large, it is very likely that just after listing on the exchange, investors will want to fast get back their money with % of bonus. Usually when bonus is little price drop after listing is also little, or even price is growing. Unfortunatelly, but dumps are usually made by early investors with huge discounts and bonuses.

Because if you buy in exchange there is certainly no bonus. It's just that, it often happens when already listing in the market of course the price drops below ico.

I think this is a smart decision in the current market situation. All coins that go on the exchange are usually traded below the price of the ICO, it's a great time to buy them. In addition, you have a guarantee that you will be able to sell the coin and it already has some value.

I believe buying during ICO, so far as the project becomes successful, is the best. There are a lot of bonuses, some as huge as 50%, when you buy during ICO. The risk is though higher as compared to waiting and buying when it goes on exchanges.

Yes, definitely. Buying on ICO hasn't been profitable for some time, so it would be better to wait for the coins to be listed on exchanges. As many coins price have been significantly dropped after listing on exchanges for the past one year.

It all depends on the project, the more money is poured into it at the ICE stage, the higher the chances that its price will rise after the list. However, very few projects are capable of this now.

The best thing to do before is to buy at the ICO as they were promoting the sales and giving the best  bonus to investors.
But as of 2018, there were so many scam projects in the community which drive the community to its low.
AFter that even you invested to a legit one and once listed they fall due to market season. for me that is tha call for the buy out after listing for the best value and wait furthermore.
though we dont really know what will happen next!

Its depends on. You how much risk you can take and gully depends on the project where you really want to invest. The ico market is going not well so most of the time we saw that. When the coin hit the market always the price is less than the ico price. So for this reason if is a bit risky to invest in the ico.
But sometimea we saw some good project and most of them are give a lots of profit.for this kind of project I will suggest that buy at the ico time. So its depends on the project itself.

In recent market trends, I think it is a good practice to buy after coins are listed on an exchange because the price we see at the ICO and their presale or seed round periods are all fake. Fake in a sense that you are selling a coin at a price of 1$ with 100% bonus, this means in actual sense, the price is 0.5$ so it will never be listed at 1$. The best will be 0.1$ because most people have plenty tokens and if they set their orders and they are not filled at the time they want, they set them cheap to get out. So waiting patiently until coins are listed on an exchange before getting some should be a priority this time.

In my opinion buying coins in ico is no longer as profitable as the previous year because price of tokens will definitely be cheap when listing on market and I think if it's better to wait for coins listing in the market and buy more because price is very cheap

the fact that there is an exchange is that the price is actually cheaper and I really prefer to buy when I enter the exchange instead of investing when Iico because it is also at risk when they run away after Iico so I make more purchases after entering the market

No, the price will definitely decrease after the ICO ends and it is listed at the exchange. So please be patient and wait to buy them in exchange and hold, that's the best way for you to invest in ICO at the present time.

if you buy when ico is still running the risk is quite high if the ico doesn't work, but if it works then the profits you get will also be a lot. the safer you buy after being exchanged to the market because it has a small risk.

it is more profitable to buy on exchanges after the ICO, as a rule, the price falls very low, since tokens are sold by hunters for a very low price

Buy once it goes on the exchanges but only after a few days because the first few days when a coin hits the exchange it pumps for a period of time

buy after the exchange, you will not be mistaken, because during the ISO now the price is not real at all, after collecting the price stably adaet from 10-20 times,so there is no point in buying ISO,money in the empty just throw away, this is now a tough market,so if the money does not squeeze Corman,do not scatter in vain!

If that is a good project and has a potential in future, better buy after the Dump of the hunters and investors as it will give you big profit if you hold long term

But if you think that it is a pump and dump coin?then buy in ico and sell once it listed so instant profit, but the risk is there if you are late in selling before the dump

In my opinion, if we want to invest, it is better to buy coins at the ICO. because when the ICO period of each coin buyer gets a bonus and the price is affordable so that we can get a big profit.

Without any doubt after the token listing. If you have found a great project, you only need to wait for several months until they will get listed on their first exchange. There is always a beginning dump, where you can buy those tokens for a cheaper price.

That's right, now you can consider the most reasonable step for investors. This is primarily due to the fact that most new projects fall in price immediately after listing on the stock exchanges.

usually if you buy tokens when ICO, they will buy up to 50% bonus for each token that you buy, and that has become a profit for you.
but in reality almost all tokens will fall when listing on exchangers, and they fall very deep. so the best choice is to buy tokens when they enter the exchanger in a fall.

all calculations must be done and the worst possibility. after we know that ico itself is currently also a lot that is not in demand by people because a lot of fraud and actually get a loss

It is a smart step to buy the coin when it hit the exchange, but it will not get into the exchange or much less the project will become reality if investors will not support the project in their ICO stage, investors support is important in the ICO stage not in the exchange.

both have advantages. however, for those who are late in buying the ICO, they will wait for the exchanger, and wait for the dump. well, personally, I might prefer to wait when the coin is entered on an agent, but sometimes taking ICO has advantages that can be obtained.

Recently,  buying an ICO is not advisable in some projects. After listing ,the price dump more than the ICO price which I think it's a loss. Investors now wait for a token to be listed before investing and still get cheaper price than during ICO. but some projects,  pump more than the ICO price . So in my opinion, both tend to have a good advantage, but buying when listing is what I will choose.

today much ico projects using scheme buying coins/token in exchanges.and its look like attract much investor to buy it.they could buy and sell directly in market,so after they get profit or suffering loss could join in another projects.

Timing is very important, you have a good point as buying while pre ico up to the actual ico sales have a good bonuses, so when the coin got into the
market and be listed inside of of the exchange, chances that it will be dumped right away by those who have  a lots of coins came from this stage,
wise investors will cash out and take advantage each time opportunities open doors for them.

I think it is better to buy at exchange rather than participating an ICO,
At least once it is on exchange we could be sure that we could use it,
Not like in just ICO there is  a huge chance that it could turn to scam or don't get listed.

Basically, there are really a lot of discounts at the pre ico stage. But that's not the point. The point is the lack of investor confidence in the ICO.Please note tokensale who carry out the exchange gathers a good amount.Ie investors trust exchanges.Based on the above, we can conclude that it is best to buy tokens on the pre-sale which is held by some large exchange.

This days on trading is much better to buy on exchangers because of low volume or low prices than the ico prices.
for example the price on oco os 0.1 and after exchanges you can buy tokens as low as 0.02 so look at the difference. buy on exchangers and hol till it pump.

Of course, this time is no longer too suitable for buying token in ico because the project may be unsuccessful or the value of the token can be reduced to a very low level when listed, so waiting for the token listed is the first thing we need to do at this stage. Next, we should clearly define that this is a potential and future project or a garbage project, not all projects can be purchased after being listed, I've seen many projects that have fallen forever and never come back, creating a shock for investors and traders.

I don't see why.
Only if it fancy project and you think price will increase after ICO.
Mostly price goes down, and not by little, it goes down 10 or hundred times down.
Investing or shorting in that period is not such bad idea.

I buy when it hit exchanged because some people will dump it lower than the ico price but i will not put money on project that is no good. I want to avoid my money getting drain in some token that has no future. It's like gambling when i do it. If the price will go up then i will win but if not i will lose.

It might have been" but now it's hard to gambles from the ICO just token and even if there is in the exchanges for it we still do not trust especially in other exchanges that the high fees will make it even more difficult for us to withdraw it, so it's better to be in the exchanges that we can guarantee the investments we released.

It depends on what period of time we are talking about, because it strongly depends on what trend is currently on the market. For example, in 2017 it was much more profitable to buy on ICO, because after listing on exchange most of the coins immediately began to rise in price, and many investors became rich at that time. Now the situation is completely opposite and most of the coins can be bought on the exchange at prices ten times lower than the ico price, because the market is predominantly bearish.
