Also by the way I wouldn't rip the forum for being outrageous trying to stop spam and allowing signatures to continue and call out the obvious bullshitting of upper members if I was going for merit.  Not good form to rank on the people your trying to get merit from.  

Take it easy, you are just being nominated. I love your post tho we are just all tired of that certain post of how to  blah2  something. If you really care about stopping this shit posting then start acting (report moderately). A post confession will for me never help solve the issue. This person is almost crying just to get his favor. So I think he also deserves a good nomination from it.

I almost gave the Room guy some merit. It's a pity he lives on the alt boards, that put me off a bit.

I gave you a merit for that. It made me stop and think that my action is counter-productive. I'm not against the alt boards, after all, I've got them on ignore. What I am opposed to are the bounty hunters who infest the main boards with low value spam. If we can persuade the alt posters to stay on their own boards, then that is beneficial to the forum in my opinion.

yes, hopefully this new restrictions will increase post quality and reduce spam on this forum.

I've given it a bit of leeway and not been too fussy on giving merit to newbies - looking for a reason to give it rather than looking for reasons not to give it. As long as they don't appear to be just bounty report posters or low quality posters I have ranked some up. Hopefully encouraging them to improve their post quality. I do check all their post history.

This is one of the absolute smelliest pieces of excrement I've ever had the displeasure of exposing my proboscis and retinas to, not just on bitcointalk but on the internet as a whole.  No exaggeration here.

This guy though, definitely not as good and hilarious as the screenshots OP listed, but I've never saw a merit beggar as demanding as this one.

You put quite some effort into that post and while I may not fully agree with it, still think it's pretty well written.
You've also have a point, if there were no signature campaigns, there probably wouldn't be any spam.

I'd still prefer to have signature campaigns, but I do also think you need to earn the right to participate in them.

Maybe spend some time on other parts of the forum? If you make a reply like that every time, I have no doubt that you'll eventually rank up.

Although I feel comforted to the Jr. Members, Member has no merit. They have become Newbie like me.
But they shouldn't beg for it. If their posts are really good, they will soon receive merit.
Merit is for those who have really devoted discussions on this forum!

In the current situation where there are many jr members and back to newbie including myself is totally not bad at all since in my understanding, the admin and staff really wanted the participants in this forum to at least make deserving and meaningful post that could upgrade into the next level. I consider it as a challenge to become an effective participant and contributor in this prestigious forum.

Why make jokes about it all, Well its true we all need merits , but it doesn't make it laughable about. Though most people really stoop low, but shouldn't be a topic for jokes. Someday,sometime if one is really devoted he would definitely earn merits from good posts. Don't make a situation out of your current rank .
