Title: The bitcointalk academy awards - best shit-poster fables to obtain merit
Post by: xtraelv on September 20, 2018, 02:30:10 AM
I thought I'd start this collection before some of them get banned or have their content deleted.

Meta is in a sad state and will be for a while. This is a collection of the posts that will make you smile again.

The ruses, fables and sob stories for merit:

room237 does make a good point though. " You can't cry about shitty posts when you allow 500 projects to pay people on your forum for making shitty posts. "

Soon the campaign managers are going to require each post under their original post to have their signature linked to it.  ;D

Hahahaha this I will definitely follow. You probably have to have to switch from the image screenshots to using quotes instead though. You're going to need more space on your thread. :P

Also, I got you a better logo. You're welcome.

Use the height=450 tag for a better not-so-big image size

I just wanted to show up and accept my award!

I would like to thank the academy for the nomination.

Also by the way I wouldn't rip the forum for being outrageous trying to stop spam and allowing signatures to continue and call out the obvious bullshitting of upper members if I was going for merit.  Not good form to rank on the people your trying to get merit from.

Take it easy, you are just being nominated. I love your post tho we are just all tired of that certain post of how to  blah2  something. If you really care about stopping this shit posting then start acting (report moderately). A post confession will for me never help solve the issue. By that I would like to vote for this guy @xtraelv please count in my vote to this guy thanks!

Not Fan of Merit Point System (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5033204.0)

Government announce illegal due to peoples losing their money due to scams and frauds and bitcoin makes heaven for scammers.

You are not the only one who bankrupt a lot others also has the same situation. This is because you follow the hype and do not research properly that is why you bankrupt otherwise peoples are still making money.

I have no idea why he has no merit. These are the two posts I found that are not bounty reports.

This person is almost crying just to get his favor. So I think he also deserves a good nomination from it.

I loving this idea as there will be more nomination as days will pass by.

I gave you a merit for that. It made me stop and think that my action is counter-productive. I'm not against the alt boards, after all, I've got them on ignore. What I am opposed to are the bounty hunters who infest the main boards with low value spam. If we can persuade the alt posters to stay on their own boards, then that is beneficial to the forum in my opinion.

yes, hopefully this new restrictions will increase post quality and reduce spam on this forum.

Thanks for the Merit. Really appreciated  ;)

I've given it a bit of leeway and not been too fussy on giving merit to newbies - looking for a reason to give it rather than looking for reasons not to give it. As long as they don't appear to be just bounty report posters or low quality posters I have ranked some up. Hopefully encouraging them to improve their post quality. I do check all their post history.

But I also have no intention to set a record and get on this list: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topsendban

I would like to nominate myself for a seat on the Academy, accept the nomination, thank all the plebians, and vote for that gawd-awful post by sinachy that was quoted in the first image:

My husband is a high rank member in this forum and he introduced me to bitcointalk few months back and since joining this forum, I do more of content creation.<snip>

This is one of the absolute smelliest pieces of excrement I've ever had the displeasure of exposing my proboscis and retinas to, not just on bitcointalk but on the internet as a whole.  No exaggeration here.

This guy though, definitely not as good and hilarious as the screenshots OP listed, but I've never saw a merit beggar as demanding as this one.

I need some merit for my work so get me some merit

Remembers me on some "Good Project or Great Project" spam posts.

Yes, it's good to get points of merit, for a limited effort and useful to others at the same time, I personally set up the subject in my opinion of the fifth bike

Wonders me that there is nothing like " I watching the Merit Project very strong and its a very good Project , good luck Devs !"  :D :D :D

LOL

You put quite some effort into that post and while I may not fully agree with it, still think it's pretty well written.
You've also have a point, if there were no signature campaigns, there probably wouldn't be any spam.

I'd still prefer to have signature campaigns, but I do also think you need to earn the right to participate in them.

Maybe spend some time on other parts of the forum? If you make a reply like that every time, I have no doubt that you'll eventually rank up.

Although I feel comforted to the Jr. Members, Member has no merit. They have become Newbie like me.
But they shouldn't beg for it. If their posts are really good, they will soon receive merit.
Merit is for those who have really devoted discussions on this forum!

In the current situation where there are many jr members and back to newbie including myself is totally not bad at all since in my understanding, the admin and staff really wanted the participants in this forum to at least make deserving and meaningful post that could upgrade into the next level. I consider it as a challenge to become an effective participant and contributor in this prestigious forum.

I post this just to have merit so that if you think that my Post is helpful you can free to send me some merit because of this  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030366.0
Thanks for Helping me :)

You think they'd research how to get merits a bit, then maybe they'd know better than to directly beg..

Have some shame, don't barge into the rewards ceremony directly. You need to shitpost somewhere else and wait for someone to nominate you. This is like me walking onto the stage at Oscars with a VHS tape of my wedding... sheesh.

I sent him my last one*

* my total allocation of these special merits is only 1 and they're replenished at a rate of 1 per 1000000000 nanoseconds so they're much harder to earn.

Why make jokes about it all, Well its true we all need merits , but it doesn't make it laughable about. Though most people really stoop low, but shouldn't be a topic for jokes. Someday, sometime if one is really devoted he would definitely earn merits from good posts. Don't make a situation out of your current rank .

If people wander onto a forum set up on Libertarian-ism, Anti-Censorship principles that is primarily about Bitcoin and they post ignorant, stupid comments...

...then they have made themselves absolute fair game to be the subject of ridicule and jokes.... and their posts will be archived, shared and highlighted for future

generations laugh about.

Here is a completely safe place for those hurt by ridicule :     I'm hurt by your comments  (http://localhost/)

i have one, but don't know, it's more funny or sad because it's definitely not sarcasm or trolling. Well:

Hик Caбo, Toн Beйc, Aндpeac Aнтoнoпyлoc... Boт cкaжи мнe, пoчeмy я дoлжeн cлышaть мнeниe этиx чepтeй?? Ктo oни тaкиe?? approximate translation:

Nick Szabo, Tone Vays, Andreas Antonopoulos... Tell me, why the hell should i listen to these assholes?? Who are they?  All the time the existence of bitcoin, they depict the "great experts".  But in fact, they have never (!) even guessed where the course will go ;D, to what heights, & their opinion means as much as mine and yours. If you ask them now what to expect next, they will mumble something like:
"well height, well there are problems, well..."    Anyone would say that. The conclusion is that these guys just hyped apes.

This is exactly what i was looking for. I've been trying to figure this out by myself by sending messages to myself with bbcode. If i had any merit i would give it to you because this is so cool what you're doing! Thank you very much.

I just seen this reply and it's really annoying to see some statements "If i had any merits i would give it to you".
You guys know that you don't have any single merits but still giving statements "If i only have.." etc., really close to begging. It's like "please give me merits so i can give you back".

Probably a shitpost, I hope you guys understand what's my point. I already seen a lot of statements like this and it's very irritating.
