Title: [ANN] VECO [YESPOWER 1.0] [CPU's ONLY]
Post by: veco-coin on October 09, 2018, 09:00:21 PM
https://i.imgur.com/pspY8k4.png

At the beginning, we wanted to say that the first block 56763 using the Yespower algorithm was mined on 3rd Jan 2019 at 18:26:41 GMT. The transition was very smooth thanks to all pool operators, miners and masternode holders. We are currently the first masternode project based on Yespower(true CPU algo) which has a lot to offer.

VECO is a new innovative cryptocurrency that is building an ecosystem for its community. The Veco community are passionate about cryptocurrency and truly believe blockchain technology is going to change the world. Our mission is to build a more open, accessible, and fair financial future for the population, and drive true value for the community by developing decentralised applications (DApps) over the masternode system. Veco will achieve this through true egalitarian Proof-of-Work (PoW) using Yespower, an GPU and ASIC resistant algorithm which enables people to mine coins without significant hardware investment. Veco can also be mined with GPUs, but CPU mining is more efficient. Veco will start off as a hybrid of PoW and masternodes, and will gradually move towards operating exclusively on masternodes to create a decentralised network which does not rely on any central body control. The Veco team may seek to collaborate with other developers who share the same vision and can add value to the project.

Wow, this sounds awesome.  CPU efficient coin.  one cpu one vote.. It's lovely for sure for egalitarian POW and then masternodes to encourage HODL.  And then DAPPS.  Digital application platforms really are a hot spot and really takes intelligent people to run.  There's no doubt you have a great team.

Wishing you lots of luck, I think this project can be great.  Looking forward to meeting your team at the next convention.

You should also talk to IFX - Infinex devs, they are in front of moondex with MN network processing, and first 50 coins will be listed for free, so better to ask them before someone another will fill it  ;) it should be online within a month.

Yes I can confirm too, after https://pool.rplant.xyz   down tried different pools but my shares were rejected either on pools lined too much difficulty that I very rarely found shares

Starting a new coin generate some errors, and there was some connection issues with the yiimp pool.

Team dev is highly aware of this and is fixing it, it should be ok in a few hours.

It is possible that you will add it, and I also see that the response is very slow.

Hello everyone,

There were a couple of issues faced by all Yiimp based pools on our algorithm which occupied a lot of resources over the past few days as we sought the optimal solution and go forward strategy. We were, and still are, 100% committed to ensure we have the best and most robust foundation/platform as Veco continues its journey to become a leading cryptocurrency in the industry. In addition to resolving any issues as soon as possible, there has been a lot of development occurring in the background which will be announced in due course.

As we approach block 10081, Masternodes on our network will begin to get paid so we are going to provide immense support to the community in installing Masternodes (we have already built an easy to follow script, but we will be available to help all members of the community at any time).

Our journey has only just begun and we have a really great community that continues to grow everyday. We will always be here, everyday, to support them and drive value for Veco.

Veco Team

The process for listing on an exchange is progressing, we are looking into offering OTC trading in the interim.

We have a MN setup script which is already on our Github here: https://github.com/VecoOfficial/masternode-script-veco

Unfortunately you need to have a static IP address (otherwise the Masternode will disconnect and need to be setup again periodically) and you cannot use a domain name.

wallet for mac osx?

The Mac wallet is available here: https://github.com/VecoOfficial/Veco/releases

I guess this project is already abandoned, the user who made main post have like last activity "Last Active: October 17, 2018, 01:17:00 PM", in plus, main pool isn't reachable.

The main pool is fully up and running and we are in the process of crunching the numbers to compensate the miners in our community who were on the official pool. We are working around the clock to build a solid platform, please join us on Discord to see (https://discord.gg/Z7j9mz6)

This is very good news, all will be better because without newbies who enter the project, success will not get. They are the main driver of the market now. If I understood everything correctly, will the algorithm continue to remain the same?

In addition to resolving any issues as soon as possible, there has been a lot of development occurring in the background which will be announced in due course.

As we approach block 10081, Masternodes on our network will begin to get paid so we are going to provide immense support to the community in installing Masternodes (we have already built an easy to follow script, but we will be available to help all members of the community at any time).

Our journey has only just begun and we have a really great community that continues to grow everyday. We will always be here, everyday, to support them and drive value for Veco.

Veco Team

This is very good news, all will be better because without newbies who enter the project, success will not get. They are the main driver of the market now. If I understood everything correctly, will the algorithm continue to remain the same?

We agree that new entrants are important, but also believe that the current community and early-adopters are just as important so we remain committed to everyone without any prejudice. Yes the algorithm will remain the same.

Following this project since day one, team is very responsive. I want this project to go far, and there is no need to rush on exchange.

my question is if the thread on the buy/sell ? and MN setting guide. can I use a domain name if I have a dynamic ip?

The process for listing on an exchange is progressing, we are looking into offering OTC trading in the interim.

We have a MN setup script which is already on our Github here: https://github.com/VecoOfficial/masternode-script-veco

After first phase of masternode sell, will be possible to create a masternode for free (except VPS cost) if have 1000 coin?

Thank you for joining as an early-adopter and your understanding. We have witnessed various projects that were very promising but subsequently failed due to listing on a wrong exchange which led to the project collapsing. The team are considering all decisions very carefully to become a leading project in the cryptocurrency industry so we believe patience is key to drive long-term value.

Yes you can create a Masternode as soon as you have 1000 VECO coins.

Personally, I don't like CPU-mineable coins, because I can not mine them with my GPU-rigs.
Anyway, I will keep watching the topic, and wait till the day the coin listed on exchanges to buy it.

Innova exchange is a really strange one, which shown the link by Brand new account.
I will stay away of this one.

Hello, please feel free to create a translation, welcome to the community :)

is there any resource where the coin is presented for joint master nodes?

We are currently negotiating and working with a Masternode hosting and Masternode sharing provider. The team believes that we will be in a position to announce the official partnership within one week.

Thank you for the potential support and feedback regarding the exchange. We can confirm that our first exchange will be Crex24. The development team are (and have been) working on source code updates to release the new and latest version with a number of improvements before we list on the exchange. It is necessary we push these updates now to avoid additional costs and charges once we are listed on the exchange, as these funds can otherwise be used to fund other project development initiatives.

Given what we plan to achieve we think Veco is an amazing coin to mine, but obviously we are slightly bias. Whilst we can't speak for other people's opinions, we can assure you this is not a scam. We are here for our community everyday and will continue to be here forever to drive value, we are not going anywhere.

Ahhum, I can assure you it is as close to scam as it gets. Anonymous newbie "team", no development since wallet release like all "yes" coins, and even not properly forked at GitHub, so that we cannot all see what you copy and pasted. Sure, if you are not american or western european, this is one the easiest ways to make a few thousand dollars with some copy and paste. Hello - we (somewhat) understand your reservations, but from our view point, you've commented way too prematurely without conducting sufficient research which is a shame. A few points below to address your concern and message.

Newbie Team
We have been in cryptocurrency since 2013 and have several years of development experience. Just because we have a new account to communicate with our community with one voice, does not mean the team is actually a newbie to the space/industry or inexperienced.

Development / Github
Approximately 36 hours prior to your post, we made an announcement on Discord to our community highlighting the source code updates we are currently working and that they should expect the new release this coming week. In that announcement, we highlighted that the development team prefers working offline and uploading complete, tried and tested versions to Github. However, we had acknowledged that some community members prefer to see more commits on Github so they feel progress is being made. In order to move forward on this collectively, we asked the community to provide their opinions on this and the majority prefer completed versions to be uploaded to Github. Given the community's vote, we are going to follow this method going forward, until we and the community decide it is time to reassess. You can see the announcement here: https://discord.gg/MHG2nq

Making your own coin
We would actively encourage you to build your own project if you have the knowledge and passion to make it a success. Our view is that the more competition that is present in the market, the better chance we have for overall global adoption of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, and the healthier it is for the market as weaker projects should fade in favor of more robust platforms. Let us know if you create a project (we may even help you).

Development team location
We are based in Western Europe, in London to be exact, and we can provide evidence to support this.

Our hope is that the facts (not opinion statements) mentioned above would neutralize your opinion on Veco. We can see you do not support Yes* algorithm coins, but we believe these coins and the algorithm are exceptional. We are all allowed to have opinions, but we would urge you to identify facts from opinion with a bit more research before jumping to strong conclusions.

Wishing you all the best.

Veco Team

Team, maybe we should implement some videos, something to explain the coin, the project, how it will be not "BTC-realated-project", but a community and a place where to find people interested in the tech-view and build dapps.

If we dont, eth already pointed in this direction, so yeah, need some fuel now ;)

this coin is good to mine?

why first page all say it scam?

I may even do it myself soon, with an anonymous newbie account of course. Is it allowed to say "go fuck yourselves you and your team" here?

Veco Team

I watched the start of one project - Wavi - about a year ago. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3146751.0 ahhh! Technical data coins are similar to yours. What do you see as your superiority over the Wavi team? Why are you sure that your project has more prospects? I'm not making fun of you, I'm voting for competition, too.)

Yenten, Cryply, Elicoin and Wavi have all gone down in recent months... then Veco and Bell appear... I find this oddly strange.
Are the devs from previous yescrypt based coins secretly making new coins? I wonder!
So what makes Veco stand out from the rest?  ???

And can mining with ASCI? Since with CPU mining and more efficient, has the algorithm been developed to give attention to small miners? or have a greater competitiveness?

Hello, Veco community.

We want to announce that we have completed work on the new version of Veco 1.1.0.0.
We announced last week, Veco will change the algorithm to Yespower 1.0 (true cpu algorithm).

We encourage all full node operators (mining pools, masters, explorers etc.) to update ASAP.

In addition, we introduced several updates for Veco 1.1.0.0 here they are:
1) New Yespower algorithm
2) Adjusted Block time to achieve 720 blocks per day (now around 650)
3) Fixed Bitcoin crash bug with duplicate contributions within a transaction [CVE-2018-17144]
4) New checkpoints added
5) Ported few Bitcoin updates (around 350 more to be added)
6) Change puffs to veffs
7) Some wallet GUI updates

Link to the last version below:
https://github.com/VecoOfficial/Veco/releases/tag/v1.1.0.0

We would also like to announce that within few days we would have applied for a exchange and as soon as we are listed, the next application will be masternodes.online, unfortuneatly we can not apply to mno before we are listed on an exchange.

We updating the project on a daily basis, for daily updates please follow our gtihub on the liink below:
https://github.com/VecoOfficial/Veco/commits/master.
Stay tuned for more updates coming real soon...

P.s We can only apologize for the lack of activity on bitcointalk. We will now be more active and answer as many questions as we can.

All miners who have not yet changed the settings please follow the instructions on our official pool:

Masternode owners who have not updated to the latest version will not get more payments. To update please follow the link below:

Anyone who has not updated the wallet, please download the latest version and reindex the wallet:

Hey guys,
today I installed a VECO masternode by following your script/instructions. A couple of things/problems I noticed:

1. You ask the user for the IP of the server it is running on. This is superfluent and could easily be implemented into the script (e. g. with $(curl --silent ipinfo.io/ip) ).
2. The instructions tell the user to generate the mnkey on his local wallet, then paste this into the script when it asks for it. This imo is wrong. (I tried it your way and the MN was never found on the blockchain).
The correct way to go is: install VECO on the server, then the script should do the veco-cli masternode genkey there and paste this as a line into the config (also automatically, same as IP).

Other than that it worked. If you need some more ideas, just look at the mn install scripts of other coins (e. g. Biblepay, Carebit, Artax, Wavi ...). ;)

Finally, it would be really nice and helpful, if you could register your coin on nodecheck.io. :)

I wish that the VECO team will bring the VECO coin to Crypto Bridge after Crex24 exchange.
Are there chances to see VECO on CB?

Veco team is pleased to announce our first exchange listing of the year! This time our VECO coin has been listed on Crex24 with the initial trading pair of VECO-BTC.

Happy trading!!!

Hey ;)
It is not because we didn't presale that we are not thinking of cb... ;)
Crex24 was our first exchange planned and we are planning other exchanges in the future, and we also know CryptoBridge is a preference for the community.
Funds are being collected for future investments without presale for investments. However, it is now too soon to tell whether or not it will be CB, a better exchange, or when...

Hi everyone,

I've been into crypto for about 6 years now and i just finally setup my first masternode on the Veco network. It took me a little while to do it and my status was enabled but when i woke up this morning it already said New Start Required. I restart my alias and it now says enabled again but was wondering if i lost my place in the rewards table?? I checked my VPS and nothing got restarted, i checked sentinel and it was still running, so i'm assuming i still got my place in the winners list but i just wanted to check with you guys to make sure. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks guys..

Hi Everyone,
Just started mining this coin a few days ago. Just saw both my computers are saying the pool is down, not sure for how long. And https://pool.vecocoin.io/site/mining shows hash rate of zero. Also can't access the main website page. Any updates on the problem?
Thanks and have a good day!

NVM back up and running

Nice to see that YesPower algo have new coin, but developers should respect those code which they take, they shouldn't delete Copyright, Author and Creators even if the code is opensource.

I wish you success.

Firstly We would like to say thank you to the community – For your support and for helping other users on our journey to decentralisation.
We have had members of the community message us and ask why we are not using PoS.
We believe PoW and PoS have some advantages and disadvantages.
We are a fork of Dash Coin using the YesPower1.0 algorithm and it will stay like this as long as YesPower1.0 remains for CPUs only.

Will we go PoS or PoW/PoS?? Maybe in the distant future, but for now we are concentrating on being decentralised as much as we can.
YesPower1.0 seems to be the best one that can handle such encryption.
Only a small amount of research is needed to see where YesPower1.0 and its predecessors has been inspired from.
We are the 1st Coin which combined masternode and YesPower1.0 algorithm.

Below is a mini roadmap of the main priorities for Veco in the coming months.
We hope you like it.

Road Map 1.0

MNO – JAN
Whitepaper 1.0 – FEB/2019
New Website – FEB/2019
Mobile Wallet Android and iOS – FEB/2019
Marketing deployment – FEB/2019
VECO Evolution v2.x.x.x – Q1-Q2/2019 (MARCH-APRIL)
DEX - Decentralised Exchange – Q2-Q3/2019
DAPPs - Decentralised Apps – Q3-Q4/2019
Veco Governance Object – To be discussed with community but most likely Q3-Q4/2019

Actively looking for a New Exchanges - (Mainly Decentralised)
CoinMarketCap will be listed as soon as we have a new exchange as listing is FREE

We will keep on working as hard as we can and keep the community posted regularly.

You forgot to refer to the most important problem: Why do you copy the code from another coin and delete the information about it. Veco is another coin made by copy-and-paste, whose main purpose is to make money to its "creators".

Copyright has been updated, but the fact that the issues are not closed but deleted does not necessarily reflect the transparency of the VECO.

I think it will be really wise not to support something like this. Author copy/pasted another coin, deleted Copyright information, premined it, created MN to sell his premined coins...

It's very sad as i had faith in this coin when it first came out, following bitcointalk, discord, etc. Then i seen all this break out, i had a masternode but switched over to a newer POS+MN coin. I was missing masternode payments with Veco sometimes getting only one payment in 36 hours. That's not enough for me to make some coin and to support my VPS even at only $5 a month.

With this new coin, i'm currently staking with a very low amount over only $15 and within a day i already got three POS payments. I'm going to switch to a masternode once i make enough with my POS payments, but might even stay at POS.

I'm not bashing the Veco devs here as i wish them all the best but a lot of people probably already lost faith in this coin.

Would be nice to hear from veco-coin about what has been said here over the few days. I'm hopping it all is just a misunderstanding, but in the crypto world that is not often the case. So some dev reaction would be great!

Hello Community

During the last week we were asked about copyrights.
At the beginning, we wanted to point out that Cryply has nothing to do with creating a YesPower source code, which can be found at https://www.openwall.com/yespower/.

In preparation for the hard-fork, we were focused on working with the YesPower1.0 (Cryply uses YesPower0.9), the yespower.c file that is referred to is a file that in simple words, calls a second subroutine with no additional computation.

The reason we have added Cryply's copyright to yespower.c, is the line of code that corresponds to timestamp of a given block:
Code:
uint32_t time = le32dec (& input [68]);

If you build a new cryptocurrency directly based on YesPower, there is no need to post Cryply's copyright and the above line of code may be omitted. In our case, after thoroughly studying, we take into account that we should add Cryply's copyright and also leave the copyrights of the YesPower authors as we did the first time, but also remembering that Cryply's copyright would not be needed when creating new cryptocurrency directly based on the YesPower1.0.

We would also like to add that Veco is a fork from Dash Coin with YesPower1.0 algorightm. Many people doubt the power of the masternodes but we believe they are at the early stage of development and might become a very powerful economic tool in our future. We are currently working to implement Veco Evolution wich will be done in two stages. Also we are preparing to use masternodes for our future products like DEX or DAPPs...

In addition we would also like to say that the majority of our (the community) pre-mined coins (500,000) are fully transparent for the project development, also the majority of developers coins will be locked for the next 2 years. To be fully announced very soon.

Hi everyone,

First of all, we wanted to apologize for the lack of communication in recent months and thank Flub for maintaining communication on the channel. We don't want to fool anyone, but Veco is here to stay. We are currently preparing a new wallet version based on the latest Dash source and we would like to implement yespower1.0.1(probably first), including superblock, governence.

Returning to VecoDEX at the moment we do not have enough funds to provide the required service that we would like. The construction of the new DEX is very complicated and time-consuming for a small team. Current regulations of cryptocurrencies, banks, do not quite support newly developing projects.
However, there are many more interesting possibilities that we are developing and can be used in the future.

Wallet not syncing on windows 10/11. Or constant synchronization of titles. Or it reaches about 20-30% after an error appears and the scan starts again. I didn't find a solution...
