Crypto currency seems to cold down these days and many people have lost faith in the past few months...

People find most token are fake indeed, what they have was just a whitepaper.

I think most of them will die in the next year.

But what about Bitcoin?

As the first and the most influential one, Bitcoin is still weak with numerous restrictions.

Maybe it will fall into the ground due to the political factors, or beaten by other token which is better.

When it comes to the possibility of beating by an altcoin, yeah it is possible but not this time and I think not in the near future as well. The gap in the price of btc among other alts is very huge, it is very hard to surpassed or even just to equalize since they are all move in a same manner — alt drops as btc drops, alt rises as btc rises.

Selling right now is not a good idea because of this current situation of market you will earn nothing but a low income. For me, do not sell your bitcoin just keep on holding and believing in bitcoin. I hope you will not sell bitcoin and just wait more time.

Where did you come up with the idea that another cryptocurrency will beat BTC? No cryptocurrency will be able to do that. Bitcoin is the man cryptocurrency we know, others are nothing, they are just altcoins. Bitcoin is the first and has been there for long more than every other cryptocurrency. If you check coinmarketcap you will see that no coin is able to do as you said. BTC still has the biggest market cap  and no coin has market cap that is close to BTC mkt cap.

Lol, how is that possible please? As the number one cryptocurrency on the coin list, out of the $127 billion market cap, Bitcoin occupies the largest which is $66 billion. XRP has $14 billion, while ETH is $13 billion. Not even the second and third biggest coins in the market are close to achieving that, not to talk of other coins that will always end up becoming shit coins later on. So how do you prove what you just said?

Bitcoin is the strongest coin in cryptomarket so i don’t see any reason for bitcoin to be defeated by any shitcoins. Its given that not all altcoins will succeed in the future because they don’t have real project to offer for us.

You are right about this one, there are future consequences for Bitcoin being the pioneer in cryptocurrencies and that is you can do little to add as much new features as you can unlike new ICOs where they can based their ideas in existing ICOs. There is no doubt that Bitcoin is still dominating the market but it is evident that its dominance is slowly being taken away from it by other emerging cryptocurrencies, the problem here is we cannot do anything for Bitcoin as it is bound to happen as every year competition for market dominance gets tougher and tougher, the only choice we have left is of course profit from other coins you think will be better than Bitcoin in the future.

Let's leave joking aside, your thinking is typical for the beginner who first heard of BTC in 2017 or maybe even this year. BTC has its own cycles what is visible if his short history is viewed, and after last year big pump correction has followed as always. Now we are in bear market, most people just think same as you, other who are smart and look at the broader picture just buy more these days.

I can agree that the good part of altcoins/tokens will disappear in the near or far future, they simply have no purpose and they are created with the aim that some people become rich.

Long-term only BTC and maybe few other altcoins will survive and BTC has the best chance for that for several reasons:

1. It is first and decentralized cryptocurrency, the most recognizable in the world.
2. It has a limited supply.
3. It can be used for payments, with SegWit and LN fees are almost negligible.
4. It can be used as store of value.

Bitcoin will not be defeated in any time soon. Not 2019 and certainly not 2029. It is just going stronger and stronger every single day. If you look at 2018 and say the price has dropped a lot and there is a risk you are missing out on the news that many huge corporations have been investing money heavily into crypto projects and they are still bullish on the long term.

There is a wall street backed crypto exchange now, poloniex was acquired by circle which is backed by JP Morgan or something like that, even the silly cat game got funded 15 million dollars this year. Basically the rich money has been pouring into crypto for the whole year because they know if they invest early enough they could make a lot more money in the future. They are not betting on the price of bitcoin but they are betting on the increasing interest towards crypto.

Well the future of bitcoin is always unpredictable, no one can say what will happen in the coming year and at that even if any token have failed due to their inability to survive the volatility of the cryptocurrency market does not mean bitcoin as the mother coin will also fail and why most tokens failed to succeed is due to the fact that the cryptocurrency market have suffered greatly this year 2018 but that can not determine the out come of bitcoin in 2019.

Although a lot of investors had a really tough time investing on  cryptocurrencies lately as a result of dropped price in fact many investors had played down on many of those so-called tokens which is obvious that they would become worthless come 2019 however much focus will be on bitcoin, ethereum, bch and other major Cryptos provided that both upcoming fundamental events  bakkt and SEC ETF comes out positive.

2017 was a crazy year and terms like 'parabolic' became mainstream.

What we saw in 2018 was the 2017 hangover. Bitcoin is still worth several times more than in early 2017.

The only way I see BTC going to "zero" is if a serious security flaw is found in it. E.G. the ECC is cracked or something revolutionary like that. Else there'll always be buyers when it becomes cheap enough.

Both things are possible to happen. In my opinion, government will most certainly create( if they already haven't) coin, their coin, that will be fully acceptable as paying method.

I don't think it will happened because as of now this year was not actually worst of all, but as you can see the market was very low and there are some Altcoins which are worthless for now due to the problem of the market. Maybe by the end of this year, we all know we're expecting about the bull run and soon it will give us a good benefit of holding some of our Bitcoins/Altcoins.

Yes, it seems to "cold cool down" these days because of some of you new guys who came into the industry believing that they could easily have their slices of the supposed 'quick rich' and then run off. LMAO...It isn't that way as all have seen and many are already stuck in with their cash trapped. However, I do not see bitcoin going down and not rising. Check the historical data, what is happening now had happened in the past. Nothing new. Bitcoin is a Phoenix.

Even if BTC price dips to its lowest more people will buy soon because they know it will be more than what it is after it. Price may dip to $1 but it will not be defeated, it will survive  just as how it survived the last time fud spreads over the internet. Eventually after months probably years, these will all die out and BTC will keep rising again. I doesn't matter how long, it will still survive.

The recent decline in the price has nothing to do with a decline in the interest that people have for the technology. We had a bunch of speculators in 2017 that saw an opportunity to make a lot of money and they pumped the shit out of the price to maximize their profits.

A lot of other people thought this was the big push to the Moon and they jumped in and we saw a massive increase in the price. Then these people took their profits and they left the scene with a lot of profit. Now, during the correction phase, a lot of people think that it is the end of Bitcoin, but they are wrong.

This is just a correction phase and the start of real adoption.  ;)

I didn't know Cryptos and weather could be compared, and who are these many people did they even own coins before or are you relying on the mainstream media headlines. The tokens you refer are Ico's which are not good, and people need to do their own due diligence rather blame the market. I don't understand what you mean by it'll fall, bitcoins has seen days like these before it's slowly and steadily growing and it'll stay strong in 2019 too.

I don't think there are any factors that can make it disappear from the market. It is really a crypto without the most advanced technology. it is currently obsolete compared to the speed of development. but it will still be in the 1st position because organizations hold BTC and see it as the most valuable crypto.

It will take a very long time before we began to see bitcoin been overtake by another coins.  I think now should be the best time for us to invest into bitcoin and leave those coins that you referred to as whitepaper.  Bitcoin has proven to be the future of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. you're right, many people say that bitcoin will die in a few years. well, basically, bitcoin does experience a decline and increase every year. it's just that 2017 has experienced a very high increase, and 2018 has decreased very far. well, this is a natural thing. Which coins can beat Bitcoin? I still doubt if there will be a coin in 2019 that can replace bitcoin. Each coin has its own function and has a different volume on demand. Bitcoin also has its own function and volume even though sometimes it has low volume but is still strong and good.

For me Bitcoin could possibly goes down but we all know that Altcoins will also follow and we have to accept the fact that they are the most affected compared to Bitcoin. Bitcoin will stay for good and no one can stop this market from growing even if one government banned bitcoin, for sure the price will recover since a lot of millionaires are in this market that can help the price to go up. Yes, indeed the price of bitcoin has recently been in decline, it is only dying and will not die easily. Trust of investors from all over the world on bitcoin will help bitcoin to survive. Bitcoin will never be defeated. It has the first mover feature. Remember when Messenger and online chatting came to public and everyone told that e-mails will fade away. But, guess what! I get distracted with some predictions and I think it could be true: that there are 2-3 more bull runs before the coin price stabilizes. There is the fear that the SEC approval might affect the space on the long run and the new year comes with the high expectations of the SEC approval. There are still fewer owners of bitcoin in the world and some may lost hope getting on the space in a bear market.

If bitcoin was nit defeated in 2018 ,I doubt if there I anything again that is capable of defeating it in the future. The year alone recorded some high levels of low and unstability in the history of bitcoin which made many think that bitcoin's end was close but in all this, bitcoin is still standing tall despite its current value in the market.

But I'm not seeing people are losing their trust level toward bitcoin due to the downfall we had in 2018. Yes, I agree, there will be many crypto that die either because they cannot compete or become scams. This is natural because most of my opinion is rubbish. But if we talk about bitcoin this might be different. I do not agree if bitcoin is still weak and will be defeated by other coins. It is really difficult for other crypto currencies to defeat BTC. I am agree that many crypto currencies, specially tokens will disappear from the market. There are few currencies like RKT and MTC, these are finished and they were in very good standing in early days of listings. ETH has so much happening new exciting things that bitcoin doesn’t have and can’t do. If ETH can beat bitcoin I think 2-3trillion market cap is possible and 10 trillion within my lifetime

If there’s a new coin their must defeat first xrp and eth because its also a giant coin but can’t overcome bitcoin for 10years now. I don’t see any potential coin to do that and the market will stay and always be under the word of bitcoin. Everything is unstable, but bitcoin will compe itself to reman on top.

I think bitcoin will be not like other coin that gone immediately we all know that we use it the bitcoin in long time ago and still bitcoin give us a surprise every year. Yes we experience a many down fall but I'm still believe bitcoin will be good in the future. It will takes time but it will be good.

We still are not sure of what will exactly happen into the cryptocurrency community since what we can only see is the ups and downs and still no sign of what most likely be the factors affecting this matter. What we can do just right now is wait patiently until the best will just surprisingly come into us. Me as well is suddenly feeling the loss of faith into it but I just view it on the positive side that on the perfect timing, all will be back into a glorious and fruitful year for everyone of us especially we are just into the first month of 2019 so many things can still be possible to happen.

I don't know the type of restrictions you're talking about. I think it'd be better if you could clarify well, what you mean numerous restrictions. Because with my knowledge in crypto, I think Bitcoin provides one of the best financial freedom you can ever think of due to its many good properties.

Being the first of its kind, bitcoin has the advantage over other coins. While many ICO projects are better in terms of ideas but many of them did not survive because too many scams have left people with little trust over their capabilities. And because there are too many new ICOs that fail, the lesser will the people's trust on them. Except only when the coin have made themselves a success. With all the competition bitcoin still is on the top for so several years and this might be the same for the years to come.

Btc is always the winner, it will never be defeated by any coin on the top 100 ,.when it comes to volume bitcoin leada them all.

I do not see or projected that way that bitcoin will be defeated in 2019, bitcoin as we know is a very strong and good coin, and the bitcoin has reach the level of success is hard to be overcome by other altcoins , bitcoin can withstand the test of time ,and proven already for its existence in around ten years of circulation, so I am not feeling of defeat for bitcoin.

I do not think that it will happen, most of users are prefer to use bitcoins than altcoins. Altcoins are just alternate cryptocurrency meaning that it can be use as temporary. People will keep patronizing bitcoin because of its uniqueness from other cryptocurrencies.

LOL nothing can "kill" bitcoin whatsoever. Even politically influcened people may try to manipulate the market for their own gains but it would not kill the asset. This is not like an organisation which can be stopped forcibly - thats one of the advatage of bitcoin not being centralized and being censorship-resistant.

Who will dethrone bitcoin? Ripple or tron? I think no one of them can replace the position of bitcoin. They must perform first an outstanding volumes everyday in each exchange so that they can surpass ethereum daily market cap. That's not a problem IMO, and the reason why its price is high relative to other coins is that it has the strongest community.  If the average Joe on the street knows about crypto, it's likely that bitcoin is what he knows about.  Bitcoin just has the strongest market support and probably the greatest liquidity out of all the coins on the market  Again, not a bad thing and certainly not a problem.

Yeah, assuming OP didn't just start this as a magnet for his alt accounts to shitpost in, I'd agree.  I'd also agree with the second part of what you wrote.  Even with the pullback to below $10, there is still a very strong whiff of the bull about and that isn't likely to just waft off into the wind anytime soon.  Now's the time to be buying bitcoin IMO, even if it's for the short-term.

At the start of this year, Bitcoin was waging a lone battle for dominance, against the 10,000+ different altcoins and tokens. It was weakened by forks such as BCH, BTG and BSV. Even after all this, the altcoins were unable to defeat Bitcoin. The dominance has increased from around 50% to 66% as of now. The market share of the alts, meanwhile has gone down from 45% to 29%.

I dont think bitcoin would be defeated anytime soon, but it is possible that a certain coin can topple down the reigning cryptocurrency in the next few years. Honestly, way back in 2017 i thought that ETH is capable of overthrowing bitcoin but I guess that it would take a long time for that to happen since ETH is currently at its lowest. Investors continue to lean on bitcoin because of its huge potential in the market, and this is supported by the fact of how it increased up to 60%, reaching 14k while the altcoins remained at the bottom.

I dont see any reason that btc will be defeated by the altcoins just saying my thought

@Vishnu.Reang at the start of year Bitcoin prices were in bear mode, and many people dumped their coins fearing the worst hence bitcoin had started to loose dominance in the crypto market. As the year progressed investors began to buy bitcoins in the hope that it would rise, and it didn’t disappoint as it rose from $3k up to $13k levels. It is due to these kind of returns that investors love investing their money in bitcoins, and hence I don’t expect bitcoins dominance to ever end.

We are already halfway of this year and I don't see Bitcoin being defeated by any coin under any circumstances, Bitcoin still enjoys the full support of the community and the volume is still very high they have almost 50% of the market and it will be that way for more years to come.

The worthless tokens were sinking themselves and dragging BTC along with them to the grave. I am glad that the situation has changed. Users have cemented the barrier between alts and Bitcoin, and it is evident from the recent price movements. As claimed by the OP, many of the new tokens don't have anything other than (often plagiarized) white papers to show, and they are being shown the rightful place by the Bitcoin users.

they arent sinking themselves but people that sells are the reason to thier fall . that isnt also the reason in why btc goes down  .

we are on the year 2019 and i can see that btc still takes the lead  . there were no coins that are yet born to defeat btc but i heard that people are speculating about libra/fb coin  .  the said coin can be a blockage or an obstacle for bitcoin  . well see if how things go  .

Have you asked yourself why everyone is trying to sell them? If they had any future potential, do you think that everyone would have rushed to get rid of them? The truth is that the ICOs generated so much of negative publicity, and in the end it had an impact on the whole crypto-market. And this was the main reason why Bitcoin went down by 85% during 2018.

Bitcoin and blockchain is new technology that is set to disrupts major system,  it is normal if it suffers this kind of initial challenge,  but i assure you that bitcoin and blockchain is here to stay and wil not die any time soon

It was proven that bitcoin can't be defeated by any coin. Soon or later, if ever libra will be the trend of digital currency. But right now, no one can dethrone bitcoin. Specially that people really likes the way it been invented. A lot of people even whales are invested right now. In fact, bitcoin grew 3x than its price.

Nobody is defeating bitcoin. More bigger companies are planning to support bitcoin because they want their businesses to stay sustainable. The price fluctuation is a normal periodic process for the bitcoin and as such smart investors make good money from the volatility.

It's so funny how opposite thoughts people have about Bitcoin. Some said that 2019 will be revival year for Bitcoin, the next best after 2017 and some say that in 2019 Bitcoin will be defeated.
Although the year is still ongoing we can easily say that is neither of these happened and probably will not.
Bitcoin will not reach 20000$ this year but  also no other coin will move Bitcoin from the throne. And neither of these will not happen any time soon.

Bitcoin is more than alive and will see more rises in price.

Classical altcoin strategy of blaming the investor rather than the team that is developing that particular altcoin. If an altcoin (or a token) is constantly being updated against bugs and known issues by the team, then the chances are that there will be a demand for it in the market. It will not sink like the shitcoins such as VeChain, Holo and Waves.

Check the charts for Bitcoin so far this year and you will get the answer. I am not just talking about the exchange rates. Consider trade volumes, number of users, mining hash rate and market share. In every metric, Bitcoin is miles ahead of its competitors. And don't forget the upcoming block reward halving, which is due in less than an year from now.

The market seems more settled now as compared to 2018 as there is now a clear distinction between BTC and the Alternative coins and tokens, the shitty ones seem to have sunk into oblivion and the ones that remain have finally moved within their real price range. BTC will remain undefeated as it has withstood the test of time.

The market is seeing very positive results , the price as compared to previous year is increasing at the same time governments are not banning the bitcoins straight away .. they are taking their time considering how the situation was in 2017 and 18 .. governments are reusing and reinstating the laws regarding bitcoins ..I think this is a good sign ..

Governments are afraid that it will go uncontrollable in 2017, that's why there was a lot of call during that time. But going forward in 2019, government tends to relax, although G20 summit meeting last June still requires countries to share certain information for the sake of regulations and KYC and anti-terrorism.

With that said, we all know that bitcoin won't die, although it has been declared dead many times. Investors are already in the market, average joe's like the majority of us and institutional money is already flowing in bitcoin. Indicative that it is not going to die, on the contrary if could survived until the last bitcoin is mined.

I don't think so, Bitcoin will remain to the top highest in the market and if you check the chart for Bitcoin at this moment you will be satisfied. I believe Bitcoin will exist a long time because it is popular now and a lot of people invest for it that's why it's hard to defeat Bitcoin.

when talking about cryptocurrency people will think it's Bitcoin, this is the reality on the ground.

so, Bitcoin cannot be defeated, Bitcoin will always dominate the place even though new cryptocurrency continues to emerge.

The bitcoin dominance stands high close to 70% which itself confirms the growth it has attained compared to the altcoins. Over the past few days the dominance level gradually decreased a little, and by that time there is small growth in altcoins. This means there is small flow of investment from bitcoin to altcoins. However it is hard to make the growth get defeated by altcoins, the prediction for the year is to reach a new ath or reach around $7000.

No l will fight for bitcoin it will not be defeated in 2019.l beleive it gonna blow up soon. This is the onky way for us to get a chance to multiply our coins in this coming future. Just let us wait and see, for alk bitcoiners will prosper.

The face that bitcoin is on display in the market, it is convincing people that defeating bitcoin is unfounded and doesn't have any chance in 2019, even the deepest impression we can see is that bitcoin is confirming new numbers, numbers that overwhelm the altcoin market, capitalization has mostly revolved around bitcoin, very little capitalization is poured into altcoin. The story of defeating bitcoin is not happening, what happens is just a serious failure of altcoin, many altcoins can no longer survive in the face of the onslaught of bitcoin.
