probably most of the cryprtocurrencies that has value now are going to be shitcoins in a few years. but i dont know bitcoin will be worthless as well or not. but i am pretty sure that crypto market and blockchain technology will keep being popular.

In my experiences in crypto world bitcoin still number one in all coins thats because of people that still trust this coin but like someone said its possible but not this year because bitcoin still moving up and trusted coins in the market.

in my opinion not because bitcoin has survived long enough in the crypto market for 10 years. it is a long time and the amount of bitcoin trading volume every day is also quite large. this proves that bitcoin is still liked by people and won't fall easily. I believe bitcoin can go up again even if it takes a few more years. I will be patient waiting. and I think in 2019 there will be no new coins that can replace the position of bitcoin. bitcoin will remain a leader in cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin is really overwhelming the entire crypto market in the current period, from value to volume trading, all is superior to the rest, it is not surprising that people always say bitcoin is the number one, highly appreciating bitcoin in the future. Agree that these things are right, bitcoin has no opponents but sometimes the future will have surprises, breakthroughs and competition may appear, the position of bitcoin can be erased and replaced by another monster.

for now i have seen alot of good coins that have a potential to succeed just like bitcoin and can maybe dethrone bitcoin in the future  but in terms of value , its obvious that bitcoin is still the leading one  .  we are currently on the beginning of the quarter and its still hard to tell if bitcoin could improve or it will be totally replaced by other promising coins out there  .

In my opinion. bitcoin will last for several years. different from altcoin. today many altcoins don't have a price or a very low price so altcoin users start switching and selling their assets. different from bitcoin, bitcoin has a very good market value and bitcoin has gained a large level of trust.

It is not only hard but it is impossible to make it vanish or to defeat it because bitcoin has good value and market price, it is low but people are considering it as an opportunity to buy at low price and sell again after few years, it is having major place in market as currency and as investment so nothing has potential to overcome the value of bitcoin ever.

So far investors have switched to altcoin but the transition is merely to be able to get more bitcoin. Bitcoin will always be the most important in cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin is the history of the emergence of cryptocurrency, it will not be easy for other tokens to be able to defeat the bitcoin known as the king of cryptocurrency. from the beginning of its launch, Bitcoin's journey to be able to have very valuable value until now there are many obstacles that are overcome, even to get investor trust the struggle of developers never gives up, they keep trying to get more investor interest so demand continues to increase so far. therefore, it is not possible for other tokens to change the position of bitcoins even though they have very good potential in the future

Agree, besides bitcoin itself makes cryptocurrency more popular and the transition period does take more time for many investors to be more interested. So, how could a token defeat bitcoin while many tokens that have no value make investors lose everything, bitcoin has become worldwide nowadays it seems unlikely that bitcoin will be defeated easily.

it's hard to defeated Bitcoin, Altcoin that appears will only be like a complement and an addition to crypto coins, almost a year the cryptocurrency market was very sluggish and I thought this was due to trust problems and politics that were happening in various countries.

The trade war between America and China, in my opinion, is one of the factors which makes the price of Bitcoin fall, Economy and interest in investment down, especially investment in cryptocurrencies.

I will say something more: it is absolutely impossible to defeat BTC. It will stay the leading cryptocurrency. I am sure that the altcoins and the market will fall if Bitcoin falls critically or vanishes (hope, it will not ever happen).

Actually in this year ill earn more fake token that have no value at all. Some fake token we get are in a bounty campaign.

the problem is that bitcoin has a fairly high price compared to other coins, and the development of bitcoin is certainly better than others.

That's not a problem IMO, and the reason why its price is high relative to other coins is that it has the strongest community.  If the average Joe on the street knows about crypto, it's likely that bitcoin is what he knows about.  Bitcoin just has the strongest market support and probably the greatest liquidity out of all the coins on the market  Again, not a bad thing and certainly not a problem.

Funny that when OP started this thread, bitcoin was treading water.  Now it's close to $10k again and folks are bumping threads like this.  That just goes to show you how resilient bitcoin is.

I bet this person must be having a rethink about this post, by now. Even though the market is still dwindling a little, one can say the market is back, and will surge forward.

Yeah, assuming OP didn't just start this as a magnet for his alt accounts to shitpost in, I'd agree.  I'd also agree with the second part of what you wrote.  Even with the pullback to below $10, there is still a very strong whiff of the bull about and that isn't likely to just waft off into the wind anytime soon.  Now's the time to be buying bitcoin IMO, even if it's for the short-term.

Indeed, it must be admitted that nowadays crypto is not good because there are many new projects that produce ico that are not good and many are actually fooling investors. so crypto is becoming a lot that is lazy for investment.
but I'm sure crypto will grow again in its time.

Nothing has changed with the existence of bitcoin and is still the prima donna of crypto, even though prices have not improved in 2018. but with developments that continue to increase I believe bitcoin will be back in success. just a matter of time.

At the start of this year, Bitcoin was waging a lone battle for dominance, against the 10,000+ different altcoins and tokens. It was weakened by forks such as BCH, BTG and BSV. Even after all this, the altcoins were unable to defeat Bitcoin. The dominance has increased from around 50% to 66% as of now. The market share of the alts, meanwhile has gone down from 45% to 29%.

I dont think bitcoin would be defeated anytime soon, but it is possible that a certain coin can topple down the reigning cryptocurrency in the next few years. Honestly, way back in 2017 i thought that ETH is capable of overthrowing bitcoin but I guess that it would take a long time for that to happen since ETH is currently at its lowest. Investors continue to lean on bitcoin because of its huge potential in the market, and this is supported by the fact of how it increased up to 60%, reaching 14k while the altcoins remained at the bottom.
