Like any other game that's partially or wholly skill-based, you're going to become better at poker the longer you play the game. However, there's going to be a cap to how good you can become because of luck being factored into the game as well as skill. If you practice enough and learn from your mistakes, you'll definitely become better at poker with time if you're new.

Yes, you'll become better at playing poker if you've been playing it for a long time. You know when to bluff and when to fold. Experience will teach you on what you should do if you are on the intense table.

You need luck as always, we do need it with every gambling game but for poker you need more of skills and decision making. Don't be scared of committing losses (but don't be too much) as its needed when you're just a newbie.

Yes indeed that's true and if you can get more experience from your previous play then you can minimize your lost because unlike other gambling games to playing poker besides luck and good mentally then people also required good strategy especially when you enrolling particular poker tournaments that you have to able to predict next movement from your opponents

A disclaimer, I'm not a poker player

So take my word with a grain of salt, but from what I heard and know it is a game of both luck and skill. However, even if you get more skills as you play along, this doesn't mean you will be a lot more skillful in the end. As with any activity, you should have a predisposition for the job. If you don't have any, you will remain a mediocre player no matter how hard you try (read, you'd better try out something else)

For example, chess is definitely a game of skill because both players are dealt the same "cards" initially but that doesn't mean that the longer you play the stronger you become, in a major way. I think this is fully applicable to poker as well as any other game out there involving skills. So answering your question, you can't be a consistent winner unless you literally live this game. Are you prepared for that?

Yes been a long period of time in any field which is also the plus point for us so you can do the better things with your experience that's why experience will play an important role in gambling.

You can gain more skills by playing for longer period but it doesn't mean you can win when you want still you need to be lucky to win on poker games.

But definitely there is difference in the games of rookie and pro players.

Poker seems to be the only gambling game which combines both skills and luck. I have seen many experienced players publishing books that explain every possible hand and what you should do according to the flop. There are endless combinations of cards that can be played in Poker but still many circumstances are similar. I think that you should have a skill developed but also be able to know the feelings of the people that are sitting on the table.

The skills on gambling is only applicable to card games like poker etc.. The more you play, the more tactics you will acquire to reduce or to mislead your opponent and have a higher chance of winning. Other than that, all games are based on luck. It doesnt matter how long you perform that game because there are no strategies to win.

Yes because you will going to learn about the cards and the people skills shown. YOu can make some adjustments as you can also know some of the players with the way how they play. Some of them are predictable like they are always doing fraud in betting so that they can dominate in the pool. And once this happen, it will create doubts and fears on your side when you will going continue betting or not. So better experience and learn from this from your opponents.

Poker is absolutely a skill play, and I think most of the card game needs skill, and still, there is luck involved, but come on there is always luck involved in all kinds of game. Most of the time in Poker you will get a bad card, I think you will only got a really good card in 1 out of 10 games. So, decision making is the key. You should analyze other players behaviour, and maintain your money management is also important.

I notice when I take a break from online poker for a while my win rate definitely goes down. There's a lot of skill factors that can be sharpened and honed in on: not only knowing the relative value of your hand but how to gauge the skill of your opponents, sorting out the bluffers and the slow players, and knowing when you've been playing well versus just getting lucky. Of course luck has something to do with it but the pros will always beat out the lucky given enough hands.

There is no guarantee to get winning on the poker game because luck will not always follow on every round. Poker is a game based on skills but having luck will give you a bigger chance to win more money.

So yes, you need skills and luck in the same time, but I don't think that playing poker for a long time will increase your skill, but you will have more experience while you play in all day long. But I don't guarantee that you can win in that day :D

sharkscope gives me a ability rating of 84 but only tracks tournaments. I'm a long term winning tournament and cash game poker player with a preference for higher stakes cash games. I personally think that luck only matters in the short term and skill wins out over a longer term. Good/great poker players are good at probablistic thinking (http://www.princeton.edu/~bayesway/ProbThink/TableOfContents.html) and counterfactual thinking (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Counterfactual_thinking). If you're wanting to become a winning poker player I would study "range theory", get some tools like poker snowie (https://www.pokersnowie.com/) and study constantly. Here is a great video (https://youtu.be/kn92WXcKr0M) from Matt Hawrilenko (http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=45399) about range theory and GTO style playing. A great quote from the video is:

Quote
Let me be very clear on how important this concept of knowing your own hand and knowing where you are in your distribution is. I think you shouldn't think about anything else in poker until you have bought and paid for a house by knowing where you are in your own distribution and shaping it to be balanced.

Can you explain how or where anything I said was spam? If you're referring to the pokersnowie link I am in no way affiliated with them and it is a tool that myself and a lot of other profitable players use to analyze multi-way situations.

Not really...

Poker is not about playing. It's about learning.
You need practice of course, but practice is not at all the same thing as playing. Playing without reviewing your games is useless. Most professionnal players spend about as many times studying theoritically as they spend time playing.
You don' tjust play. You play, record the interesting hands, review them afterwards.
You watch other people play.
You experiment with different ranges.

Playing is not important, studying and practicing is.

It is a game which require a lot of experience  and skills I order to beat the dealer and other parties . Also if you are smart you should be able to play with that confident  that other players pack their cards thinking the other person have better cards and leave the game .

Playing for a long time certainly has a lot of benefits to it but learning about it is different from playing it.

You should read books or at least read online courses and so forth on how to become better and what to see and what means which etc etc to learn poker a lot better, with that information in your mind you can try to test your skills and practice playing constantly and when you practice it over and over with that info than you can become better.

Just learning from books won't make you a good poker player, just playing without knowing anything won't make you a better player but learning from books and practicing the things you learnt will make you a better player for sure. Of course you may still not be a great poker player considering it takes years and constantly effort to become one of the greats but you will certainly be capable of beating your friends this way.

Bluffing is a skill and getting 4 of a kind is luck.So in my opinion, poker depends on both skill and luck. The more you play, the better chances of winning since you start to understand everything better. The more you play with the "same" opponents, the higher the chances you have in winning the table since you get to know your opponent better and will be able to call his bluffs.

It's definitely a game of skill, but I personally do not believe that by playing longer you automatically get better.
You actually need to study strategy and odds calculations, together with practicing, in order to get better at the game.

It's perfectly possible to play for years, just as a fun pastime and not actually get any better at the game.
Without being able to do odds calculations on the fly and accurately basing your decisions of off those calculations, you will probably improve very little.

The longer you play, the more you will be used to it. Therefore, you will now able to play at any set of cards at any case even the worst ones. That's the advantages of having a long term experience especially at card games.

While building that experience, you will be in lots of situations wherein a different strategy should be applied. Since you are now used to it, you can cope up with the situation and you are increasing your chance to win on that round. A bad set of cards can win over a dominant set with a good strategy.

Luck is always there but for luck to come to us, we need to increase it's chances. And skills will be the one who will increased it.

Playing is not important, studying and practicing is.

Yes.

You will eventually become better the more you play, until a certain point. To become better, you need to study. It´s a skill that you need to develop in order to become a better player.

There are tons of tutorials on the internet: youtube, blogs, magazines, where you can read about techniques that will help you improve your gameplay.

When we do talk about dice and other luck-based games then experience and skills wont really matter at all but since you do talk about poker then I would say that experience does really count but
yet luck would still play a major role in all sorts of gambling because skills wont really be effective to win if luck isn't on your side. Experience is a big count on this type of card game.

Poker is a mental game it is for sure based on skills.  Just look at how many professionals can consistently win tournaments.  I do think you can become a better player through practice but I do think a large part of it is mental.  You are either born with the ability or not, practice can only do so much to your natural talent.

Born with what ability? To be good at poker? That sort of explanation seems a little bit too vague.
i do think people can be born with better analytical insight than other people, but I also think you can improve those ability through practice and learning.

In the end you just have learn how to stack the odds against you, while playing against other human players.

I don't think that it works this way in real life

Since otherwise you could just stick to something which you choose based on purely financial terms and then, with patience, practice and perseverance, learn "how to stack the odds in your favor" and become a success. To become a success, you should first find something to your liking, let's call it your true calling, for simplicity's sake. And only based on that foundation you can proceed to achieving new heights. To rephrase it more figuratively, you don't choose poker, poker chooses you

So true, it just like being better in what you enjoy doing because the more you play,  the better you become in your game.  And this applies to not just poker but to all games,  cause as you play,  you learn new methods that leads to winning. So don't overlook the saying that 'practice makes you.  perfect'.

Skills and luck in gambling are inseparable, if you have good skills but if you are not lucky, then you will lose too. But in online poker to fight the house, believe it or not / coincidence or not, they are like having certain hours for us to make continuous profits and wins in just a few minutes, and in a day there are certain hours that seem right for us to enter the game. This has happened to me so often at that time, because for now I haven't tried it yet and I hope it's still the same.

He is right that is why there is a skill for bluffing to make your opponent rethink of what he wants to do. Yeah, that makes your opponent to get distracted and getting confused in a game is an advantage for a player. But i think there is no person that has no luck because luck is just a belief that doesn't affect your whole life.

The skill is recognising when its bad luck and not losing or risking most at that point.   Everyone has good and bad luck mixed, Im not a real big believer in the winning streak more then some days people should know themselves and only risk a little because they are not upto their usual game.   Dont tilt etc

Length of play would improve not just the game itself but the regulation of yourself in that game, if you lose it on a loss then it only gets worse

I don’t know but as far as I know, the longer you gamble the more chances of becoming addict. In poker you need to decide good decision, and if you have enough experience you can earn more but still it will be base on your luck. In gambling the chances of winning is not high and expect to lose money even if you do strategies.

Yeah, if you play everyday for months now in gambling I think its too risky for you since its not about gaining experience anymore but for me its more on addiction now. Play poker moderately, it can still make you better just know how to learn from your experiences, from there you can get some learning and apply it when you gamble again.

Even though I am not a professional player in poker, but I think this game does require some talents too, as there are many players who have been playing poker for many years but they will still find themselves losing to younger poker players sometimes, I think there are some similarities between poker player and professional gamer, some gamer are just not suitable to become a professional gamer no matter how hard they train themselves in the game.

It will be impossible to get a consistent winning in poker. Poker is a game that require skill and luck. The longer we play, the more skill we will get, just the same with other games, but it won't give a guarantee for us to win everytime. Even though someone has a good skill at poker but if luck isn't on his side, he will be lose anyway. Generally speaking, gambling is a matter of luck.

It depends but on normal conditions of you pay attention to everything that happens to you and document a lot of that , chances are really high that you will be a lot more experienced with time and you will have an edge over othet players. This documenting things come from my career as an It but it can be fully applied to poker.

Yes you can learn a lot if you keep on playing and maybe you will become better if you focus on that learning. It will still depend on you, on how you treat gambling because even if you play longer but if you’re not interested to learn its useless, and remember the risk while playing for long period of time.

You can become better at anything with practice but regarding gambling i think you need discipline as much as you need practice because many of the gambling addicts out there are good at the table but they don't know when to start, stop or pause their game and their money management are bizarre to say the least so yes you can become better at poker with experience but you have to set your gambling boundaries and make sure you are always within.

once the time had passed you will eventually learn and enjoy it gradually.Experienced onces do really have the edge compared to newbies but there are scenarios even newbie can beat up those guys
when luck isn't on your side no matter how good you are then you will still lose.

In every person life, they have a chance to do something worthwhile to practice and master. No one can become a master already without being a beginner. Except if you are a genius or something, that’s like a shortcut. I know that experience is the key to having a great life.

Back to the poker game style. I think ss you go along the way, you experience more plays every time. You might know or remember how to deal or counter different hands from poker. It's going to serve as a stepping stone to better games.

I believe in real time 10000 hours to master a skill or a hobby.

Gambling is synonymous with luck, yeah maybe everyone has the same thoughts about it. I have an experience with my friend, he doesn't like to gamble but he knows how to play poker, so one day I invited him to play poker and give him money to make a bet. I don't know what happened but he was able to multiply the money I gave, and I just thought it was just luck.

But he said to me, when you gamble try not to focus too much on the money you spend, even if you have to forget money or win, just focus your mind on the game. That incident made me think, not all gambling was determined by luck. But a skill or a good way of gambling can lead you to get plenty of opportunities for luck.

It's poker, so I tend to disagree for those who believes that it is pure luck. Skills are badly needed in order to survive and win in poker. You will be battling each other with emotions, observations, strategy and of course luck.

Experience is an advantage of course.

But, you have not answered the exact possibility of playing long with poker ? Just curious to know that. I agree poker is not based on pure luck but having experience is more than enough to win there ?  Because I am ready to play as longer as I am able to so that I will be gaining more experience and after having all the required experience, is their any guarantee that I will be winning in poker  consistently ?

Experience must be an advantage everywhere and not just in poker. If you are well our of what to do or what not to do in dice gambling then you can lengthen your stay in dicing for the same strategy and for same bankroll comparatively.. I mean to say experience is a handy even in dice gambling not just in poker.

But, there will be no assurance that you will be learning all the tactics of poker gambling even you will be playing it longer time. Because, when you will be busy in playing, you may not notice and learn all the tactics. This is how most of the gambling is working because even you are experienced with the environment and strategies, you may fail to apply them at the right time.

The excitement of gambling or frustration of gambling will make your brain to fade away. This must be the reason why you cannot use your experience for your gambling. I agree experience must be handy everywhere but you need to be conscious for making use of it.

Being conscious while gambling is not possible for 99% of gamblers.

I don't agree with it. It's true when you talk about the basics but at some point you will find it harder and harder to learn new things and become better than other professionals. It's called the learning curve. It's easy to learn to play, just a bit harder to become a good player and an enormous gap between that and becoming a professional player.

Most people never go beyond 80%.

I think it is impossible to answer that question

Simply because it is very personal. If you don't like what you are doing, if you are forced to do it by yourself or circumstances, your mileage will be pathetic. People play poker not because of the money they can win but because they like it, they like things around it, its spirit. Money then comes as a nice bonus. It doesn't mean that you should not try it, but if you feel that it is not your thing, you'd better not waste your time and try something else which is

It is a game which require a lot of experience  and skills I order to beat the dealer and other parties . Also if you are smart you should be able to play with that confident  that other players pack their cards thinking the other person have better cards and leave the game .

Well, among the gambling games, i think poker is a game which need some skills but luck again play a major role in winning or losing in poker. I like poker because there is something to think about and we can make moves according to our decisions and of course its an interesting game.
Having a good experience in poker can give you an advantage to earn profit and its really an interesting games since you have to fight each other holding that cards to win against them. Its good to keep on playing and gain the experience along the road but you must still control yourself, since its too addicting and you must lose more money by playing longer.

I think playing poker a lot can train you to be a good gambler definitely. 'Practice makes perfect' suits for this case. Of course many tho gs depends on luck, but with skills, practice and knowledge the percent of your winnings will raise up.

The longer you study, not only play. You need to study poker. There is no "house" at poker. You only compete against other players, that means you have to understand the game enough to win in the long run. Positioning is essential and although you learn a lot about playing, you often have a wrong impression. By studying you can understand the statistics and have the coolness of thinking several rounds ahead, not just at that moment.

If your skills are getting raise up then poker must be the easiest way to make gambling houses bankrupted. But I'm not seeing any gambling house is having problems to offer poker to its customers. I mean to say when more people are finding themselves as an experienced a gambler in poker then they will beat the houses which will make the house operators uncomfortable and they may stop offering such a low earning/negative earning gambling type.

In my experience, yes our skills will keep developing over the time in poker still we need an extra touch from God so that we will be able to make money in poker like any other gambling. Some people do call that extra touch from God as luck.

If you rely on a whisk, then most of winning a game is luck. But if you only rely on your luck, this is not effective. It would be nice for every gambler to have a skill to change the situation in order to win every bet he did. I think to win a profit not only rely on the way someone plays, but to manage the money that is there must also be considered, and this can be arranged with the skill and experience of each gambler.

Are you sure you are not confusing poker with dice?

As far as I know, there is no house edge in poker like in dice because players (intentionally not calling them gamblers) are playing against each other, not the house, as is the case with dice. I assume you pay a commission to the poker room from your winnings, and so you can't possibly ruin it in the way you could bankrupt the casino by adding up stakes until they start to exceed the size of the casino bankroll

Both, even if you have the skills to provoke but if luck doesn't resides on you the chances of winning are still at slant and vice-versa.

the longer you play more skills you get?

Maybe, for the reason you are getting much familiar with the game. But for some reason there are times that you may not be able to gain skills as for you are just focus on getting money and winning every round.

Probably yes, because if you are to play poker then you have to familiarize the factors when you are to play poker, get used to the rules and just simply know how to get your luck with you, when you're playing poker, you'll need not only skills but with luck on your side, that's how dangerous poker is and you'll really have to play a lot of it

Poker is one of the few gambling games that actually takes skill to win and isn't just based around luck.  Personally I no longer play much poker because I find it to be too nerve racking.  I used to play a lot but I switched over to more sports betting and other casino games.  I suppose online poker is a completely different ball game considering you can't even see the people you are playing.

That's just like trading, don't you think? Most times when you put your money at stake you will feel wrecked, even when it ends with you winning. The game will take its toll eventually.

I agree. Much of the skill comes from learning how your opponents react to different hands. That's why they usually don't show what they had if they lose a hand in a real game.

It is true that in Poker if you are playing longer you can gain knowledge about how to play in variance by seeing the opponent playing style but if their is also one fault that same opponent if you play then they can also find the way of your betting. So this way their will be a good competition of changing variation in play and winning.

Isn't poker about cheating specifically? Yeah, it may be called bluffing, for what it's worth, but it's only a matter of convention and terminology. So it is not about your kind of playing style, it is how poker is played at all times (well, at least I think so). Actually, if you don't cheat or bluff and don't learn how soon enough, you will get into trouble sooner or later, into trouble of losing constantly

I don't think it is cheating. Bluffing is a tactic and classic style in poker which I often use in this game. An effective way to make the frame of mind of the players worse.

The longer you play any gambling games, you will lose more and more money without having a chance to recover the losses. It is very difficult to get better income from the gambling games itself, no matter what games we played. But maybe you can have a chance to win in many times if you have skills and you can defeat the other player with good cards.

Depends on yourself, the more you play but you are not learning anything then you wont get better. Anytime you play you need to learn something, no matter learning the type of your opponent or learning the card possibilities. As you are playing poker against other players, you will face different type of players with different way of playing (strategy).
Regarding consistency of winning, I think it is hard to be like that. Even if you are expert already, it will be still hard to be consistent to make profit on poker as your luck still be the one which decide the result. Your experience and your strategy are just tools to make you have better chance to win IMO.

Yes, because after we swallow a lot of losses, the farther we will return what has been lost and the harder it will be to get good profits, but gambling is a pure luck factor if someone's fate can be said well, then most likely with the skills he has will be successful someday with a hard struggle.

Enjoying while trying to depend with each strategy that build inside your mind while you are playing against other players, just like what you have said, bluffing is part of the tools which you can use in order to destruct your opponents, there's always a good timing so playing longer time can help you to learn when to bluff and when to really play safe.

Luck is nothing without a skill . let say your are lucky enough to get a good cards but you dont know how to play it correctly .  do you think you can still win with it ?  I bet no  .

The longer you  play poker the better you become good it and the more skills you will get but you can also expect to loose somtimes because you will also need luck to win the game more effectively .

This pretty much means that poker is not your thing

And in that case it may be no use trying to get better. I know it may hurt feelings, especially if you are of a maximalist type and don't easily accept being wrong (that's understandable), but trying to get better at something which you are not naturally predisposed to also means that you are losing your time by not becoming better at something where you would easily garner a lot of points and ultimately success with half as much effort

Yes but mind you that one could still earn even if one is not playing. Just watch the game and learn from the people that are betting. SOme of them had a good strategy to scare others and take advantage of the pool. Sometimes a poker player had to make some fraud so that other will going to back up and then will just passed especially if they will afraid to call your bet. You must also have a good numbers of bitcoin in order to monopolized the betting portions.

With poker being played in gambling houses directly the skills and the strategy of handling will keep on increasing as long as we play. At the same time with online poker it isn't that easy, because our strategy needs to coincide with the program script. This has very small possibility even when you play for a much longer time period. To my opinion coincidence might be around 20%, while the winning possibilities were around 60-80% in long run.

The longer you play your skills the more you can develop your skills if you aim to do that, poker is a game where we have a chance if we use our skills but I think there is a big difference for online poker compared to playing in a casino establishment.

The above words from OP does not really happen all the time, my guess is that most players in poker are still losers even if they have been playing longer.

This is gambling, you can be successful here if you are smart and lucky, both should come together but you cannot develop luck unlike developing skills so you should always focus on improving yourself for better chances, if you are more focus then maybe making it as your passion will bring positive result to you.

What do you think can be a consistent winning player on this game? is this game of skills or luck?
the longer you play more skills you get?

It's doesn't means playing longer in poker they get skills and luck it's depends on the player is strategy tactics how long they want to play even if playing longer if not the of luck possible to losse money, alway set greed control while in gambling for having fun.

Poker is gambling yes, I think it is close to a strategic and skill gamble than other games.

Gambling circle around strategy, luck and skill. It is true that the more or the longer you are playing Poker, the better you become but that doesn't mean that you can win your every game. That is the same with every game, the more you are playing that certain game, it is obvious that you will be better, you will continue to evolve as a player but in terms of gambling, it don't always means that if you always play, you are a winner since gambling is also acquainted with luck and no one can control luck.

Practice makes perfect! I know this saying was already used many times before yet really significant. However, you should accept the fact that you are inly a human who inevitably make mistakes and also bear in mind that in some point of your life you will meet a better player than you. But for me this is not a bad thing at all, it only means that there is still a room for improvement which also means that the motivation and hunger for striving more remain present :).

Nope. Poker doesn't only need luck. but also your strategy and intelligence in determining the steps to win. the more you play in poker. the more strategies you have. of course it will make the possibility of profits getting bigger

The longer you study the better you get. If you play and dont put in hours of studying then you wont get any better.

That is the good reason if you want to study about poker but I guess many gamblers don't care too much about this because they want to get the winning money. It's only a few of them who want to study in the poker game so they can increase their skills and they can get more knowledge about poker. It depends on what the purposes behind of playing poker but you need to prepare much money because you cannot get something in a short time.

You play poker longer, you would get much experience, but not all at, winning depend on your card about 40%, and 60% how you use it.

But I believe your skill and knowledge may help only up to half of total requirement because the another half is fully depending on how your luck will be playing on one particular day. This is how many professional poker players are sharing about their experience. You cannot be sure about to have better poker experience just because of you are playing it for longer duration. Your skill and experience may go in vain if your luck is not in your side.

You play poker longer, you would get much experience, but not all at, winning depend on your card about 40%, and 60% how you use it.
This is where the real catch is hiding. Card games are always known for inconsistent with respect to one's experience and knowledge. Because there are thousands of combinations are possible and even you will be on the verge of success you cannot assume your opponent how quicker than you to identify those combinations.

I agree, while the cards are randomised there is only 52 in the deck
There are skills which can be learned and developed in the game
especially playing face to face.

If what you're looking for is only studying then I'm not sure you will get the win you want. Playing poker is not a place that you have to look for and interpret with a theory, all you need is practice so you will get experience. With the experience you have, I am sure that every gamble you make will make a profit.

My goal is to enjoy any gambling games so I don't want to struggle or play hard like other people. I know my limit, I don't want to see my money gone in the next minute because I still want to play for the other day :D
That's a good reason and since you're just into enjoyment you can start playing poker now and study the mechanics of the game. It's enjoyable to play with others on the table, you'll feel that you don't want to stand up until your out of money.

No, I don't want to feel out of money in any gambling games because I don't like that and I don't want to be like the other gamblers lol :D
I am glad that so far, I can enjoy playing with my friends without any of us feeling that we must get the win money. We realise it's hard to do and we know that gambling is for fun only. I don't want to learn more about poker because I am afraid I can become deeper to those game.

Im not even sure what you are saying. A good poker player will play thousands of tournaments and be profitable. You cant simply play a few tournaments and expect to automatically be profitable. Its all about the long term.

I disagreed with the OP on longer you play poker the better you become, but will state categorically that poker is better when you study the players before taken the move to practice(play). It took me time to study the game of poker before i started playing it on a ground star and on a better note.

I will take long time before you are going to play because studying the players wont be easy thing to do. There are many type of players, and you may face different type of players every time you play. For me it is better if you study the players at the same time you are playing, indeed you need to have extra money to do it because you may lose some money while learning. As for me, learning just by looking around on the table without playing is not effective.

There is no particular skill in poker, there is only tactics. You can get better by learning how to play in some situations, learn tactics. But there is no real skill involved because it is a luck game, you only need to know when to fold or call. Sometimes, people happen to get in lucky streaks and get off the table when the streak ends. But that's coincidence or simply luck but the streak will end at some point.
You can get advantage if you know to track cards and read players, but those are rare and really hard to gain skills.

Probably OP was about to ask the need of remembering old incidents so that we could manage into profits while playing poker. Because, old incidents are always good to remember as tactics. When there are repeating or similar situations then we may go for making use of experience, I guess other than this there could be no big advantage for continuous poker player.

Poker is good for experienced players but that does not mean all experienced poker players are making good and consistent profits. Your experience may be playing some role but definitely not all the roles which are required to end in profits.

In poker, the result brings the experience that you have in the game, of course, in the endless number of times, people who are bad in poker get the results, so they say that they have nothing at the end, there is no skill, and not everyone can play poker well. You need to be well bluffed, or make your opponents get caught, if you have good cards. There are also people who just happily follow them and take a lot of money, but even then he becomes a better player, because you are collecting experience. There is a factor that you will be playing better for longer, it must be so that you get into the waters of that game, while the one who plays less may not even know all the rules, which happens often.

It is, but still I can't agree with you in terms of skills,... On gambling you should have both of it in order to win. Luck isn't enough to let you win the game, if you have the luck but doesnt know how to play it well, then it will be wasted soonly. Same goes for the skills, even though you have it but luck doesn't in favor on you then you lose.

Both is needed, but you can't rrally tell whether you're lucky or not, just go with the flow. And maybe in that way you can finally feel that luck resides on your body.

That is good luck if you have that both of being lucky and skills on how to play gambling, we must take advantage if we know how to manage to be lucky and next is skills in gambling. But sometimes people make a huge loose because they're hoping a piece of luck every time they play gamble. Chasing in lost also will make addicted to gambling.

At this time we must put this in our mind that gambling is not good on us, it may destroy our future. So, while you can control don't make your self to ruin in gambling.

The more you play, the more practise you will receive but its not a given that every player will improve in a linear way.    I know I will probably be repeating mistakes for a long way before I progress, maybe I will need to get some kind of lessons or revision on common fallacies when gambling in poker to move forward in my game

I think if you want to learn about poker, you don't have to use money inside the game and for this way, I am sure that you can increase your skills so when you can beat many people, you can try to play the poker game with money involved. It is safety for you because you don't have to spend money while you want to learn poker until you know how to play poker with the right. But if you insist on playing poker game using the money, then you cannot get something inside the game, and even you will frustrate because you are lost in many times.

Poker is also a sort of luck game although there is some knowledge also required, unlike dice games which are 100% luck based.
Studing the players will also not help much as the players may change thier tactics. You should come up with your own stragegy which may help you in winnig poker.

That strategy is to perfect your persona so that you have a perfect "poker face"
which is a sort of acting.

As mentioned in other posts there are other skills which have to be learned such
as memory and how to read other players mannerisms.

Poker is nor based on luck because you can win with inferior cards.

In some cases maybe its applicable because the more you become familiar in the game and the way people played this with you then experiences and strategies might come to your mind but yet luck is needed for continuously winning coz of you have none of this then for sure failure will be there both with chance of wins

But even if we got some progress is the opportunity of failing is always indeed since gambling is full of lust that even experts fall from greediness

I don't think that poker only depends on luck factor because when someone wants to play poker, he needs to have the skill to play and without understanding how to play, he doesn't have a chance to win, and he will lose in many times. So maybe if he knows a poker game, but he only gets lose of his money, at least he can get more experience which will give another knowledge for him in the future.

From my point of view it's obvious that the more you play the better you become. You are not just making a wheel spin, there are certain factors that you can use to affect the outcome of a game, you can watch videos of pro players explaining some things or giving some tips.

Of course, when you're on the high level of the game all of them know about it and there is when the thing gets tricky. Pocket is not only about skill though, but those definitely can improve your win rate and make you get better at decision making.

If you know how to play and if you do actually play, then you'll know as well that luck doesn't really play that big of a part in poker. It's about reading your opponents and not letting them read you. And experience definitely is a bigger factor than luck since an experienced poker player can beat you even if you have the better hand.

Believe it or not but the higher stakes you play online the easier it gets to win consistently. I have been playing on pokerstars for about 6-7 years now. I started with a 500$ deposit with a 100% first deposit bonus. i always loved playing tournaments and multi table SNGs. I always thought it was easier to crush the micro stakes with buyins up to 5$. But the problem was to hit a nice score there mostly were playerfields from 1000 up to 10000 players. Taking in mind that 75% just are noobs that go all in with every pair or ace they get. And mostly they got lucky.

I got lucky in some way and in 2 years I had my bankroll on about 15.000$ by hitting a couple nice scores. After that I started playing tournaments with buyins of 22 upto 109$. First advantage is that the fields became much smaller and instead of 75% noobs the fields contained better players. You should think that it would be more difficult to win but actually it became easier cause there were a lot less donkeys and real poker could be played.

So your statement is correct. You become better the more you play but also the game and your winning rate increase the higher limits you play. I noticed I was able to reach the money many more times than when I was playing the micro and low stakes.

Poker is one of the best type of gambling since your skills is your friend and that would help you achieve a win, the more your skills are good the more your chances of losing is low. Also, sometimes if you are lucky, it will give you additional chance of winning, and there are really people who are lucky and good at the same time.

That is a reality and not only in gambling but in all face of life.  The more you practice even in loses the more perfect you will become as those things are going to be part of you and your investments.  It is not only poker but also in trading, what put money in our pockets is our ability to develop what other are not ready to develop.

Right on there mate, the more practice we do the more experienced we become but if we can take the outcome seriously

Because if we don’t take the learnings from those experiences so being better will never take place

Poker is normally a friendly game so theres nothing to become greedy just play and take the learnings

That's a very silly question, the longer you do somethinf, the better you'll get in it, it's just in our nature, our brain learns and we adapt on things, something new becomes old as time goes. And for those who thinks Poker is only skills, then give me great cards and let's see how can you beat me. In real life you have absolutely better chanses to blaff but online where some people come and go on tables when they wish, it's hard to understand anyone's psichology during play.

A lot of luck is in short, it can not beat you if you are being tracked by bad cards, but of course we are better at something if we are doing it for a long time. Our brain works so well, you can not notice a good bluff, but we can wait for better tickets.

Even in other games, you will be upgrading your skills and talent, and of course you can certainly create strategies that is more effective than of previous days. Cause if you are still not doing good, you eventually came into losing all the time and never given a chance to dominate the game.

I think this is probably true even though i do not play poker.... It is a general principle in life.
It is possible to discover some winning patterns in the cause of playing regularly and winning once in a while.
Even in other games, you will be upgrading your skills and talent, and of course you can certainly create strategies that is more effective than of previous days. Cause if you are still not doing good, you eventually came into losing all the time and never given a chance to dominate the game.

What other games you are referring to? Not all games required skills and talent, as most gambling games are luck based game such as dice, slots, roulette, plinko, chart game, keno etc. I wonder what kind of skills and talent that can be used on that kind of games. You wont even able to dominate that games as your luck is the only key to determine the result.

That's what we will going to missed when playing this game online, we are ain't able to see their faces and reactions while we are calling on our cards, playing poker give us ability to figure things out, the longer you play the smarter we can be, we analyze and keep on trying to create working methods
to win against our opponents its a nature inside our brain to learn system and convert things into another ideas.

there are many tools out there to cope with the issue. However I rather love playing live as well. It is so valuable to be able to see your opponents face, expression,... But in online poker you have several tracking and analysing software so you exactly can figure out how your opponents are playing. This is very useful software + keeping notes on opponents helps very well also.

but to the general statement, I agree. the more you play the better you will become. But this only involves games or things that require skill. For example roulette or dice , you can play it as many times as you want, it will always stay a game of chance.

Luck is the weapon we must have in orther to win in gambling so you’re definitely right on this, maybe OP is is referring to card games in which somtimes skill is applicable since i know some gamblers that experts on how to bring the cards favored him

That is a reality and not only in gambling but in all face of life.  The more you practice even in loses the more perfect you will become as those things are going to be part of you and your investments.  It is not only poker but also in trading, what put money in our pockets is our ability to develop what other are not ready to develop.

Poker and trading are totally different. You can grow big in trading with experience but we do not need that much experience in poker.
Winning is poker is more related to one luck while trading is far more technical and need a lot of study and charting experience in order to get good income from it.

Poker is definitely a game of skill, even though some luck is a factor.  It is no coincidence that we see the same players finishing near the top in the world series of poker every year.  Some people just lack the mental ability and deception in order to be a successful poker player.

Well it is possible because as they say, experience is a good teacher. Maybe with the lots of experience you have on consistent playing of poker, you can now determine what stance of strategy you will going to use to keep yourself going into the game. But still, just like the other games related to this, even if you are skilled enough because of the experience you have on playing poker if you are really not that lucky, there is still a big chance that you still cannot be able to win the match. It is not just about how skillful you are in playing poker but also how lucky  you are to be able to win the game. Even though that is always the think, I still manage playing such game into the  online casino (https://to.crwd.cr/smtm) I am currentlt up to playing their variety of games just to have fun plus enjoying the welcome bonus they have offered for doing my first deposit.

Of course, that's a skill base game so the longer you play, you'll gain more experience that makes you a better player. That's common in life, if you are experience, you have a better chance to succeed. Games base in luck which is dice, etc, here you don't need skill, what you need is luck.

It's more on luck but somehow skill is an advantage. It's more longer a luck because your winning depends on the card of your opponent and also depends on the card given to you. No matter how skilled you're in playing poker, if your opponent's card is very lucky, you'll just be defeated.

Indeed! These what I recently realized. Before, I do believe that skills rules greater than luck when it comes in playing poker but as I practice playing through the help of poker game apps and spending many hours my perspective changed. I say so because when there are times that I had a bad card and try to bluff my opponents I still end up losing — big loss (lucky for me that it was just a game). This only means that pure tactics cannot outwit the lucky ones all the time. Or maybe it's just the odds of winning in a game is very different from the real play that's why I always lose, what do you think?

Poker is one of the few gambling games wherein skill plays a significant role in winning. Although it may seem that the cards generated are by luck, with proper deception skills, understanding of the players' micro-reactions, or by reading their every move, you could get a grasp on what cards they have or if they are bluffing or not. Just to give you a quick background, poker is recognized internationally and is being played by millions of players with tournaments being held at different places and being televised world-wide.

It's more on luck but somehow skill is an advantage. It's more longer a luck because your winning depends on the card of your opponent and also depends on the card given to you.

This only means that pure tactics cannot outwit the lucky ones all the time. I have been playing poker for 5 years now and I can say that lucks play an important role but it is on how you deceive your opponents by bluffing. It may not work all the time but you can actually observe their reactions (through micro-reactions) to get an idea on their hand. But I do fully agree, any form of gambling is really luck-based regardless of the technique that you use.

Poker isn't really considered as gambling anymore most people see it as now a sport as you literally are the one controlling your fate in the game. Poker requires strategy and risk but not the risk we usually see on gambling odds the risk in poker is controlled and if you don't like your odds you can easily fold and wait for the next deck.

Yes, of course. We need luck and skill in the poker game. But I don't think that the longer you play poker, you will get better skill because it depends on how we can manage our emotion and I know it's not easy to manage the emotion. But if you are playing poker without using the money, then you will have a chance to increase your skills in a long time while you play poker because you can get more experience in the game.

Great. Maybe experience was really a great teacher but still luck is a most common need in playing poker as well as other casino games. Experience might just help you up maintaining you into the game at long period of time and help you strategize but it doesn't assure that it will make you win because those luckiest ones are always into the top of their games. Well, possibly it may help since we do not know when and how win will come to us. It seems that the online casino you are up into is having a great deal of reward just for doing first deposit so I think I will give a shot to try.

Poker itself is in my opinion a game of skill, luck is important however secondary.
The thing is that online poker is yet another beast. Completely different experience and set of skills is needed, mostly because there is no "physical contact" between players. Online it is the skill that is secondary and luck takes over the lead.
Without question, experience and skills will make you sit a bit longer by the virtual and real table.

Poker is a game which you learn from experience and strategy. So more you play better you get at it provided you are a quick learner so that it can be an advantage for you, as in short time things will get more clearer and you will not repeat those mistakes and will try to make some money for yourself.

Poker has helped me to create a lot of strategy, not only I tie it to luck, I think that this game combines a lot the attitude and way of being of the person. I would like to be consistent, but it is a difficult degree to reach, there are moments that you feel that no matter how much you know, you do not get to anything, it is because apart from being a game with a lot of strategy, the psychological role has a lot to do with it.

Well, do you know why majority of those who are good at poker and win away huge money are the oldies people ?
This is all about how experience you are and how good you understand the game.

Few exceptions are there who are good at numbers, have good memory and are confident of what they do plus can predict the opponent’s strategy and can make a quick counter strategy. So these are the factors that counts. I do not think luck is the only factor responsible for what happens.

Practicing and consistency should work on gambling like poker.

Not only poker, in any game if the longer you play, the more experience and skills you will get. But in my opinion not everyone is like that, because it's useless if you have played for a long time but have never learned what they have experienced so far. Imagine, when you continue to play just to fill your spare time or just to have fun, then you will continue like that. But when you try to make a profit from gambling, then it will be a different skill and experience to learn to be better.

It is a combination of skills and luck. Since you need luck with the cards on the deck, the 2 cards you get and the 5 cards which be placed at the later part of the game, you need to form strategy on how to win a round. You can always bluff your opponents and formulate a strategy to make them go bankrupt.

I think playing poker for a long time can give you some winning if you can learn from every round so you can improve your skills step by step. It's not easy, but if you have a strong willingness to learn more about poker, you will be able to get a strategy that might work for you. But there is one thing that you should worry about any gambling games, you will spend more money if you stay in a long time and you will have a chance to get lost that money.

My advice is if you want to learn about poker and want to improve your skills, you can try to play poker in the demo and watching the video from youtube so you can get something from the video and you can practice in the demo account or the poker game without using money.

Of course. Experience plays a big part in poker. You learn how to control your expressions and how to read people's faces, eye movement and mannerisms by playing consistently. You also gather techniques for different hands that may come up. The longer you play the more you add to your skill set.

Poker is one of the only games (in gambling) that I actually consider to be more based on skill than luck (provided it's played in a convention setting, and not against the dealer)

I'd say 50% is luck, 50% is skill, and the better a player you are, the more it becomes skill based vs. luck based.

I think most of the time, as you play, you don't get better at the game itself (card values, etc), but you get better at analyzing people (which IMO is a good trait to have regardless of gambling or not).

Poker games need skilled gamblers in order for you to win the game but of course, there is always luck in every gambling. So, I think the longer you played will make your experience improve in every game and it is caused high chances of winning. Poker is needed to have a good strategy that full of knowledge.

players faces and actions. You can spot it out for those who totally bluff but still having a bad card. The longer you do play the more experience you do gain.

Most of gambling is pure luck, but as previously said in games like poker skills count.

There is no skill in Poker but yes, if there is difference between a player who is playing poker for a long time and a player who has recently started playing poker. Experience do matter, even though gambling is more luck dependent.
You can say that the longer you play poker, then better you understand the rules on how to play poker.

Although a little luck is there poker game is not entirely based on luck, you can use some strategies, if you have been playing for a long time and have gain some valuable experience.

I totally agree on this. There are some that players or gamblers are relying on luck but most of the time, it is experience and skill. Some people are making a debate about this and I think it is not 100% a chance but skill is also essential for a poker player. Most of the games I see is really based on them.

Of course, poker requires skill, luck and strategy to win. Even a bad hand can defeat anyone as long as you are playing your card well. As you play longer you will learn how to properly bluff and intimidate other players even if you don't have good cards.
whatever game that requires skills, the longer you play and learn, the better your knowledge and experience will shape your skills dude.
but for poker, we don't deny that luck is also important in this game.

Poker is something where experience plays a vital role in winning the matches as it helps you know a bit about the other players know how and how they play . If you can get the behaviour of other person how they play you can win the matches a bit easier .

Skill is important thing for gambling as when you choose a game whatever it is but you will have to have skills about it, poker is good game but you will have to know how you can become good player, I know some people had bad experience in past but we lose with our own mistake. Never wish to have fast and full profit try to maintain your strategies.

It's true that gambling has a big portion with luck but this is poker.

You need to have strategy, you should be good in bluffing, taking decisions whether to fold or check or raise. It's not just about luck but experience and on how good you are putting other hands into pressure.

It's different from a type of gambling where there is a house edge, poker is a game for people who wants to make a living in gambling, you battle
with somebody using your skills, and those who are lucky and has good skills in poker will win.
It's something you will know if you have future to make money in this game or not, unlike in luck based game where you don't stress yourself out to analyze in order to win.

If it is just poker, I guess yes. The game does require skills you will ultimately hone over time and practice. There still a hint of luck you need because it's a deck of cards being dealt. But since there is bluff, poker face and reading your opponents, you can minimize the effect of luck on your success. There are poker players winning tournaments through bluffs.

What do you mean by play by chance?

Do you mean play poker and depend on the luck you have? Is that what you mean? Poker is a game of skill, luck is still in there but mostly, it is all about the skill or the experience you have. It is addicting that is true but that will be the responsibility of the gambler. If they can't afford to gamble, they should not be doing it in the first place.

The only strategy i think when playing poker is to keep yourself calm, composed, and unpredictable every single time, doesnt matter if you had a good hands or bad. Those character will allow you to control the outcome, and can win opponents by just provoking them even with bad cards. Then everything left is pure luck.
Well, then if you have a good intuition to read the opponents card by looking at their slightest face and gestural reaction, then consider it as your skill.

Of course skill to play poker does must to be calm and not affected by the emotions when playing, I think its sometimes difficult if the situation is reversed maybe only those who have an patient soul right. The main thing is luck card also yeah just luck.

Thats what you call provoking the opponents. You can opt to not show your cards after they fold. Thats what I was talking about, to keep your self unpredictable, so that your opponent will never ever guess whenever you have a good cards or bad.

Having good cards in poker is also based upon luck. Even if you play poker from small amount of time and you are lucky, it is much better than to be unlucky and playing for a longer duration of time.

Playing Poker is all about strategy and luck, both of which are interrelated when getting a good card, which means we are lucky with the card, we also prepare a strategy so that the opponent does not stand up from the chair and the game continues to finish.

If one is just started playing poker then one can really learn strategy of the other players. The longer one will play the higher knowledge in the game one will get but there are limitations on it for knowledge in this kind of game does not much required for after all it is the luck that will going to dictate the players.

Intimadation is one key that or strategy that can lose you but once you overcome this and you have a good card holding then there is no worry when calling all the expected bets.

I think poker and gambling are different from other activities in life. Even though anyone has a lot of experience in Poker, he can still lose the game because of his bad luck.  And anyone who is new might win poker too, just because of his good luck. So luck matters more here in poker than experience.

That just goes to show that poker is far from being just a game of luck and this situation tells us that a skilled and experienced player, who knows how to read situations, can turn a bad hand into a good one simply by making his opponents doubt because he raised. That'sa move made by veteran poker players and you 'll seldom see a newbie play their hands that way.

That would be true if we were talking about playing card games in the street for money because those are full of scammers and a person who is not into that type would get robbed of their money. It is a bad habit correct, but you cannot blame people for developing vices specially when they have no other good source of income. But here we are mostly talking about crypto based casinos which have provably fair algorithms to verify every bet to be transparent and not rigged by the house. These are trusted and if you are willing to play you can feel free to check them out.

Because sometime, I do a stupid move that makes me lose and then I realize that the best way to win is to understand and be able to control the condition. With that, I would take advantage by controling other's mind and then win the game.

Poker is about strategy, so playing poker each day against good opponent should give you skills to become better when you start playing with money on casinos or on poker tables.
Poker requires a lot of hours of study and practice. Therefore, player that has strategy and uses skills will defeat a lucky one on the distance. Because luck is temporary but skills are permanent.

"Sometimes experience will help", he says. Since we are talking about poker, a game that doesn't really require that luck and mostly on skill and experience, that is really funny. Luck doesn't always play an important role in gambling. There are types of gambling if you don't know or if you are really gambling, I hope, there are luck-based games and skill-based games. It is quite understandable there so I don't think I need to explain all that.

I believe that playing poker could really prepare you to gamble efficiently in one way or the other for trading. Both got strikingly similar traits. A person good at poker would have some edge over a new guy in trading. But in addition to that, one must have trading skills because you cannot completely rely on poker experience to make money in trading.

Right, emotion really be main factor in Poker. Because we must know how to read people's emotion or our emotion that must not be read by our opponents. But this is only for real life poker. But in online poker, something like this can't be used.

Maybe you will be a good poker player if you play the game for a long time so you will have a chance to win in the other days. This is more than the casino, where luck is all required even when we are more skillful in the game moves. The long you play the higher will be the skills developed, but the winning is decided by the luck.

Every game that you really play for a longer period of time will help you to enhance your skills, that is why there are a lot of people that are good in video games and gambling because they always play it for them to be good. Especially in the game poker, you will enhance your skills in predicting and strategies in bluffing other players for them to fold their cards. It is also one of the reason why i love the game poker in my favorite bitcoin casino because it has unique mechanics and strategy than any other gambling games. Right now, I am playing poker in my favorite bitcoin casino (https://vegascasino.io/casino/video-slots/wild-pixies?utm_source=ccwp) which is VegasCasino. You can also play a lot of casino games like blackjack, poker, baccarat, video slots and many more and it has live bitcoin casino and live dealers that attracts most crypto players.

What do you think can be a consistent winning player on this game? is this game of skills or luck?
the longer you play more skills you get?

I'm not an experienced poker player but I love watching poker games, it's a game of deception for me, the better you hide your feeling and how you project your emotions the better your chances of winning, but I still consider it more on luck but how you manage your card is a skill.
It will be more interesting as each card is drawn when there is possibility for a winning the excitement keeps burning. This is more than the casino, where luck is all required even when we are more skillful in the game moves. The long you play the higher will be the skills developed, but the winning is decided by the luck.
The longer you study about it the more you will get knowledge but if you are only playing without being in the house of knowledge it will be low profiting, in this game you cannot rely on your luck but you will have to increase your knowledge about it, at the same time you need luck as well, so same as all other games poker has a lot of profit to gamble.

Playing Poker is all about strategy and luck, both of which are interrelated when getting a good card, which means we are lucky with the card, we also prepare a strategy so that the opponent does not stand up from the chair and the game continues to finish.
Exactly. There are two parts of poker when it comes to luck and experience. Getting a particular card is the result of randomness or LUCK but the way you play that card and its output will depend on your experience and your number skills. This is important and even if you have good experience and are lucky, the win in poker is not guaranteed as the house’s edge could turn things around anytime.

Porker is my favorite game becasue it winnings come as a result of playing everyday to become  professional. Some time ago, i good friend of mine taught me how the game of porker work, he told me to play always, watch the players always and will win always even though there will be looses, it will be minimal. "The longer you play porker, the better you become" as a player.

True.  Sometimes i  wonder why it is regarded as gambling even though it involves working hard to be better at the game.. . There can be  predictable outcomes if the right thing is done, hence does not qualify as a game of luck.

Gambling Poker is always luck based. Some forms of Poker are actually skill based but not of those formats are included in a casino.
There is something called card counting which if done successfully can let you know what's on the card but doing so is illegal in real life casino while is impossible to do in online casino.

Experience details everything you are right now. No matter what, if you've played something for over let us say around 2 or 3 years, you're bound to become better at it no matter how hard you try to become bad at it. You're able to perceive different habits that may help you win, and you may discover different loopholes that can make you have an advantage against others. Look at me, I've been gambling for 5 months and I can say that I've already improved quite a bit since when I started. I'm always playing at Vegas Casino (https://vegascasino.io/casino/video-slots/wild-pixies?utm_source=ccwp) and boy the number of games they have sure helped me develop different skills and habits in gambling. Not only that, when I was starting and losing out quite a bit, the benefits that are entailed to playing in their site helped me rise back up in just a few months since losing. So no matter what, I was in a win-win situation ever since I started gambling in Vegas Casino.

Absolutely true, the more you play or the more you expose in playing will enhance your skills and as you gain experience you will learn everything. Actually the most important to gain here is the experience because once you have it you can now able to lessen the risk and even increase your chance of winning, you might even gain some tricks though. Honestly, I barely know how to play poker but I always play in Vegascasino just to learn everything and gain some knowledge and experience so that soon I can now able to win and enjoy my gameplay.

If you playing poker game long term you will get the skills for sure, but you need to actively check and confirm the how the scripts works for the poker game. I hope poker game developers may have more idea than the regular gamblers.

Other than this all people fall on luck factor on earn in poker or any other gambling options.

Peoples lives are just like poker. Both of them have risks, you can either win or lose. There is no guaranteed outcome, but the potential rewards are vast, almost limitless  for those who are great players. Poker and life are games  in which players have a diverse skills in order to win. Short term, anyone can be lucky and win one game. However, those who play better get the top rewards long term. That’s why the same experts win the big tournaments year after year.

I have been playing Vegas Casino for about 3 months now. This games introduces me to the world of poker that greatly improves my mindset on how I will going to view my life. Vegas Casino is a great one stop shop that offers the best online entertainment experience including slot, blackjack, roulette and even poker. Well of course if I don't want my own money to burn out there. Vegas casino offers a free trial to experience the challenges, terms and rules of the game without worrying losing your money and the game.

This subject has been discussed before and I think it's already clear that poker is a game of skills and luck is just a small part of it. To become better basically in anything you need to practice a lot of time and I'm not talking here about a couple of hours a day for a month and you become a pro after that. It takes years and thousands of matches played to learn the strategies and the techniques to read people faces. Of course it would be helpful to have a mentor/coach that has already achieved what you are trying to achieve so that he could teach you a few tricks and offer you tips for plying better.

It is more of skills rather that luck because if your skilled enough in playing poker then you'll know the decisions to make. Luck on the other hand, it's like playing with your instinct and not really thinking it is a good move or not. And it is true that the more you're exposed in playing poker the better you'll get because you'll be able to learn the pattern and come up with strategies along the way.

Luck is still a big part of it like in any other game. Skills are more important when you play live at the table but not so much when you have to read the hand of an AI.
What will happen if you enter with enough money to play 10 rounds and 10 out of 10 you will get much weaker hands than your opponents? You can keep folding but every time you lose some money. You can't sit at the table forever watching the cards until you get lucky. Every round costs you money.

That will be our advantage over beginners and usually it play to us.
If we have a lot of knowledge in a certain thing will simply boost our self and be confident enough that winning will be our side. If we have that luck then much better but the most important thing is that, we play fair to everyone and accept losses if ever.

Just like all gambling, is about luck, to play for long time doesn't mean that you will have better luck. But... poker have some gaming ways that can make you win most of times, if you only play wih AA odds will be on your side, but to have a hand like that isn't easy at all. So, i would say it's all about luck.

Experience coupled with social skills and bluffing. These are the skills you need to be a great poker player. It does not matter if you have a bad hand if you can bluff your way into winning. The most important skill is how to read your opponent through their actions, or gestures while covering your own with a poker face.

Poker have some strategies which is not going to make you win but it can reduce the chances of winning your opponent through bluff and some other tricks which literally means you can win it if you are good at it but still it is not going to work for most of the games or while you are playing with experienced hands.

Like I do agree that gambling is luck but it is not all about luck all the time. Some gambling games are not just about luck, there are some I would say are not totally so like poker. Experience sometimes makes you master some strategy to help you consistently win than losing all the time. Even in soccer, you can predict and bet too to win.

If it was "all about luck", then there wouldn't tournaments and shows which are watched by many just like they would watch a sport.
There are no tournaments for roulette, slot machine and others which are really "all about luck".

In poker especially, if it's played face-to-face then it's at least 50% skills when you consider the acts of bluff and "poker-face".

No, I disagree. Playing poker is all about skills or let's just rate on this, skills are 75% and luck is 25%. Poker for me is base on skills the longer you have been played of course you can familiarize which card you are going to hold. If you are expertly analyzing on cards you have a high chance of winning because that is not like dice gambling or roulette that 100% base on luck.

Poker games are one of the most entertaining mediums. Many people think that poker is a good way to earn money. I think both play and skill are needed to play poker. Just like luck can not be good at poker, but with the skill only, success is not available here. And yes, the more poker you play, the more you increase your skills. But playing skill with poker will not succeed. To succeed, both luck and skill are needed.

I've also assimilated quite a bit of knowledge from the information you can find in their blogs with their updates at times.

It needs much practice to become a strategic player in such a strategic poker game only then you will have strong chances of winning games or at least you can minimize your loss. You can also limit your bets and the strategies which you need to apply in poker will increase your winning chances. My suggestion not to start poker gambling directly but you should practice and practice before starting.

Dude, poker is not everyone's cup of tea. We got professional poker players who make money by doing it like its their only thing in life. The we got fuckbois trying to become rich by shuffling their shiny card. Its not something that everyone can do and not everyone can become a pro at it. It needs skill and dedication which is lacking in majority of wannabes.

If somebody is willing to become a pro in poker then they need to assess their talent. Poker big time winners have talent to outwit opponents and not just strategy.

Yeah, if you think luck plays a bigger part in poker, then clearly you don't play poker lol. I consider it more of a sport than a gambling game that relies mostly on being lucky. Poker players very seldom hope for a good hand and try to make strategies out of whatever hand they get. Try watching professional poker games. It's about reading your opponent and making them commit mistakes.

Yes, skills do is needed with playing poker. The impossible is happening, I enjoy watching those professional poker leagues. Strong hands are losing while the weak ones wins.

How is that possible? well bluff is the key and as said, you should be able to read your opponent's next move and on how they react with your move too. I'm not a professional poker player but I know how to play and I actually did those bluffs in real tables.

People at poker become more better player when they get more experience and have hand on the game. So strategy and experience is what makes the player better at Poker and thus it is true to great extent that longer and effective you learn more better player you are in the poker.

There's still a luck, in having great cards and if you deceive your enemy but in the long run of playing I think you will become better but you will become an addict too that can make you broke and make those long playing year not worth it.

When we are playing poker for a long time, we will become a rush person because it is hard to see the reality, especially if at that time, we are only getting lose. I don't think that the longer we play poker will improve our skills because skill in the poker it does not depend on the longer we've played but how hard we can learn more about the poker game. When you are playing poker in the PvP, you will meet more people who have good skills in poker, and you will not win from them if you don't learn more lesson about poker.

Skills and luck are both needed in gambling. If you’re really lucky at this thing then good for you. If you’re not lucky but you strive hard to learn and master gambling then good for you as well but there are these people whose both lucky and skilled and I think that they are the lucky ones because luck is not enough in gambling and sometimes your skill can’t make you win. The more you make one thing a hobby or an everyday activity the more you get better doing it. It’s the same in gambling or generally in life.

Experience will teach you a lot of things not just in poker but also in life. Well, back to poker discussions yes, you will learn a lot from those mistakes and experiences you had with it. From the techniques on how you should react when someone all in from the very start.

Experience, wise decisions, strategy, and other improvement related will come to your way as you play poker longer.

Even if how skilled you are on playing poker, if you dont have enough luck to win then your skills will be nothing. For me, poker needs luck and strategy at the same time, not also skills needed here, luck is always a good partner when it comes in every type of gambling.
If talking about gambling everybody knows to won gambling it required luck but slightly different to poker game especially PvP when you against people around the world with skill it will slightly boost your luck because many factor to determine win every game on poker game and also during playing poker you have to prepare your mentally well because sometimes you will find the players who very dare to bluffing although they have bad cards

of course such events often occur in poker games, they do such bluffs because they have strong confidence in playing. in addition to the skills we have in playing poker, we must also be able to prepare mentally strong so as not to be easily affected by the snapping that can be done by people who play in it

What do you think can be a consistent winning player on this game? is this game of skills or luck?
the longer you play more skills you get?

In my own opinion, the consistency of winning player on gambling games is their skills. Why?, because the longer they played the game they learned the strategyon how to win that game. Skills is very important in gambling, observation is the key to manipulate the game. I do not  believe in lucks when it comes to gambling its your skills when you think you can won or not.

Skills do play an important role in winning in poker (to be specific) since it involves manipulation and card speculation. But regardless of that, I personally believe that luck plays a larger role than skill. If playing poker would garner you the skill and experience, then many would be millionaires right now. Gambling was designed in a way that luck would be a factor but LUCK will be the main determinant in the game.

That is true. No matter how many games you played poker, if the odds are not in your favour then you will definitely lose in gambling. I consider it the way gambling was made in general since it lets you believe that you actually learn from it. But in fact, in only lets you stay in the game and thus making you gambling again due to its addicting factor.

Its a mix of skill and luck. The longer you play, the more you learn how to play the game. No poker game is the same, always you will meet a new player with a different style of playing. Even if its the same person, that player may apply a different strategy on the next game. Evem if lady luvk is at your side, if you dont have the skills and know the strategy, you will be beaten by someone with a card not as great as you are holding.

Our experience will give us an advantage over the others in any game, especially for card games. I supposed to believe that luck is very important but somehow it needs more skill to make it very effective and has a high percentage of winning. If we don't have these two, it makes hard to win the jackpot price nor losses are very near to us.

I don't think so.
There are other card games that are skill based but poker is entirely luck.
Yes you can get away with small loses if you feel the probability is low enough to not to risk and if you believe you are losing but again you never know the  outcome of upcoming card.

There is a simple rule and that says that the more you do something, the more skillful and experience you gain. I think that it is not bad to do so often for it makes you pass through many different situations in which you think about using and formulating different formulas for winning the game. A kind of mental exercise that pays off in the end.

The only skill that you are going to get here is how to deceive your opponent with how they look, people are looking for reactions on how they handle their cards, and this is what they've learned, they learn how to become a face reader and at the same time learn jow to cover thjeir reactions

Agree, you will become better if you have skills is used and its is an important that you have it. But if we look for the longer you play poker probably it is true, because you know already some strategy you would apply everytime you play. And your always on presence of mind, and were not based on luck only.

There are times that players depend on luck but most of the time, it is their skill.

As far as I know, this is still in debate but for me, it is based on skill, experience, and knowledge you earned from playing for a long time. You can intimidate your opponents with your bluffs, you might also be able to read your opponent's card based on his movements or sign languages though it may be their bluff and that makes strategies more important in poker.

It applies on real poker game only, but it wont work on online poker game as we cant see the face of our opponent as well as their reaction while playing the game. I've been playing online poker game more than 10 years now, the only way to read my opponents is just by remembering their usernames and their way of playing. Some users are consistently playing with the same strategy all the time, so if we can remember them then it will be easier for us to decide what to do when we are playing against them. Of course it is not a guarantee that we will always win, but at least it help us to play safe.

This is so true, I am not playing poker that much but I discovered a mobile game which is Pusoy Dos by Zingplay. Most of the time, I am matched with the same opponents I played with and all I can remember is how he moved the cards and how he will play it. His moves varied on the cards but if you will look closely, it is the same strategy. I only play poker in the real casino but I don't know how it feels playing online, I mean I usually bluff with my reactions so that is hard with an online match. I hope I can use emojis with it..

This because the poker game online can be scripted and could be change they way that a computer should get higher chances on winning compared to the user playing poker? Well probably you are right but mind you that there are gambling sites now offering p2p playing games especially poker. So this is more like playing with a real users that also likes to play poker.

Wether online poker or playing it locally with the other poker players, it is still luck that works on one to win rather than a platform.or the strategy to win.

I doubt you fully understand poker. making your opponent think that you have a better card than them is not luck, knowing when your opponent is bluffing is not luck, playing mind games to your opponent by how you respond to his/her call is not lock. my point is poker is far for being pure luck it requires skill to make the best possible outcome of your card and compete professionally.

I will tell you from my own experience. If you don't know the basic rules, especially hands rankings and your chances of winning with this or that hand, you are going to lose more frequently than those players who do. I started playing poker with exactly that level of knowledge, I mean, almost zero. Still I was winning sometimes because of luck, but I was losing in over 90% of cases. It took me a week or so to learn those basic rules, and it took so long only because I was't doing that from morning till evening, but rather was spending around 2 hours daily on playing poker. I think, anyone can learn how to play poker in one day actually. And when you know the rules, as everyone else at the table, the most important factor is luck. From my experience I can say that I am not becoming better the longer I play, I'm just staying on the same level I was when I learned all the rules.

But it's more consistent if you will play for a longer time. In the long run, both are needed a bigger portion for your skills and strategy should be built up when you play poker. It's not mostly about luck because you will have to be a player that's full of strategies on your mind on how you will start bluffing and folding your cards. And with that said, luck will also play a role to it but you don't rely on it most of the time.

The longer you play poker the longer you will have the chances either to win or lose. Both the possibilities are equal so the time passage increases both the possibilities equally. I am not a player of poker but I prefer poker among all the gambling games because it’s based on strategies which are easy to deal with. But you will need to have excellent practice of poker which will enable you to use strategies in right time.

The mastery and consistency will take advantage against new comers but of course we don't need to forget the luck which meant to be in our side.
We can say that we have that huge chances of winning and it absolutely right, but sometime we also accept defeat cause we all know that is the reality in gambling. We don't need to be offended when new comers get the luck, it sometimes it turns like that.

But be careful because of the longer you play poker, you risk to lose more money, and you don't know if, in the next play, you can win the poker game or not. Perhaps, from playing poker in many times, we can improve our skills in a poker game, but we should remember that there is money which we are risking in the game so we need to know when we must quit from the game, or we will lose all of the money.

Limiting the amount of money will be a good solution to prevent the big loss in any gambling games including in the poker game so we can control the money that we spent and we can learn more about poker too.

About money, maybe right we must limit our money to play and training. But in other side, there are a lot of games that can help us to play poker without spend any money. Maybe it is good to try even what we feel must be very different if compared to play poker with money.

Say, when playing Texas Hold 'em I go all-in on the pre-flop with pocket Aces, what can I rely on but luck, knowing that there are so many scenarios that can be unfavorable to me? Another example is when several players make it to the river, and, say, I have 3 Aces in the end, but I can see that there are possibilities of Straights and Flushes. And when someone raises, what should I do, fold? I'm not folding with 3 Aces! But of course, I know I can lose, and the only thing that can help me in such a case is luck.

Many players out there have won because of luck but when you say consistently then one needs more of skills than luck to win.
The other thing is that luck is not consistent so we can't rely on it.

Yes they learn from playing again and again and this is how they reach the point of great accomplishment and ability. I think it could very easily be learnt by playing again and again and ultimately a point is reached at which you have the maximum ability to claim wins is poker. Poker is however very challenging game and you still need to play wise even if you are a good player.

Just two days ago, after I posted that reply to your post, I was talking to two long time poker players, both online and in land based casinos. When I told them that luck is a major factor, they disagreed, both of them, saying that your skills is what makes you to win in poker. We had talked for more than an hour on the subject, and we came to conclusion that where you really need skills is in bluffing and in recognizing bluffing. I wasn't convinced completely, I mean I still think that luck is what makes you win in most cases. But I agree that skills can't be ignored in poker, as they can (and should be ignored in dice or roulette, for example), and in the long run a skillful player has more chances of winning more frequently.

Skills can be gained and they can be developed. Its about practicing those skills over and over again to hone your methods of bluffing. Poker is much about skills even though luck does play a role. In fact luck plays a role in every sphere of life, we just dont seem to acknowledge it at that place. Poker skills are often inherent and professional poker players are either having skills or are promoting casinos for money. You should remember that this second method of earning is also a big source of income for players.

Well, there's a saying that "practice makes perfect." So I guess, your practice or experience plays its essential part in gambling. We can say that luck also has its vital role in gambling like poker but from what I've read before, there are also techniques that can be used or taken into account so that one may increase his chances of winning and not depending on luck alone. So it's possible that "the longer you play poker, the better you become" since as time goes by, considering that you would analyse your every game, then you will be able to identify what could work and what couldn't.

What do you think can be a consistent winning player on this game? is this game of skills or luck?
the longer you play more skills you get?

its a game of both, u might win 60% of the games u enter but u will allways lose some games thanks to luck what ever you do, but its not a game where u get bette from just playing u need to study what ur doing wrong and what other people are doing right, its not a easy game to become good at.

Indeed, poker requires a lot of study and practice to become a really skillful player. And, even then, luck would stay an important gaming factor.

Poker is a game which involves a lot of skills and knowledge. It is less likely to be lucky and more likely of a clever mind. You can simply get out of a game in the first round if you are clever So being lucky in this game can take a lot of games and you can win in this without even becoming lucky. People use a lot of emotions and other stuff in this game which are part of the skills. The more you play the better you become but you can always lose this game if you make bad decisions.

Skills matter a lot in poker, luck is not something that we can calculate and make complementary risky bets. The odds are in favour of the player in both poker and blackjack, so the winning chance is more dependable on gambler's side compared to the same amount of cash flow in other casino games. Some strategies can even be used for increasing the chance depending on the skills of a gambler.

We can win in Poker not purely with luck only unlike in lottery games. It needs strategies and skills to win over the others thus, having a long exposure into Poker games will simply give you more chances to win as you've gain a lot of knowledge that can we used for. But of course, you can't be assured that you always win, losing will still be in our side.

Among different games available, poker is something that is much dependent on skills than on luck and other factors. There are games where you cannot succeed however skillfull you might be, with poker the scenario is different. With poker more the skill you possess it is like having more luck on your side getting you the increased winning probabilities.

I also believe that experienced will make you become expert. Well, at least that's my own perception. In reality, based on what is happening to me. I've been playing gambling like dice and poker. I incalculate some styles and strategies buy no one works. Even if I'm  playing for a longer time, luck is the only thing I've been relying to. And that is just my pure experienced. Even the strongest skill will be disregard because we can't beat their system. That's the truth.

I think there is a limit with the amount of skills you can learn in poker, if you reach that all the next games will be familiar as you have experienced it and you can choose the option best suited for the scenario. It is not solely on whether you are good, but sometimes you just have to be lucky to win.

But remember, you need to think about the money you will use in practising poker because you will spend much money if you want to master the poker game and that will not be good for yourself. Perhaps, to learn poker, you can search a game that could teach you more details about poker, but that game does not use the money to learn so you don't have to worry about spending the money.

I think that will help you to learn and master the poker game so when you feel you can play poker with good, you can try to visit on the gambling game, and you can test your skill.

First luck then skill, it's on how to turn your luck into winning, we have a term poker face this is to hide your emotions to your opponents and to learn how to read a face of your opponents and read the situation as they arise, but still, luck plays a major factor here.

IMO there's no limitation for that.

It's a game that you can learn different skills base on the opponents that you will be sitting with the same table. You can learn a lot from them mostly if you're with a professional, not just how to bluff and fold but more than that.

But the opponents are also improving their skills, aren't they?  The longer you play poker the better you become compared to those who just started, but there are thousands of players who are on the same level as you, and only luck can help you to beat them. I believe it's our brain playing games with us when we think that we are winning due to our skills because it is more enjoyable to live knowing that you can always be winning from now on. But the truth is that even the most professional poker players lose often because of the bad luck, and the losing streak can last years in some cases. We should never overestimate our skills, even in times of winning many games in a row, because luck and skills are easily confused things.

Those who play with mind and less emotions are the ones who had played a lot of gambling and they know every piece and bit of gambling.

Poker rules are easy to learn. You will need several hours, or two days max, to understand the basic rules. You can even play poker not knowing the rules but constantly checking with poker hands rankings from this or that site. Learning how to control your emotions during a game is another thing entirely. It is so hard that some people can never succeed in that. From my experience, it's not something you can learn with practice, but rather it depends on your mood each time you play, and every time is unique. I personally know a poker player who was very good several years ago in controlling his emotions, but then had lost this ability at some point, and started playing very aggressively, losing in the end in most cases. He thinks that other people have become better at playing poker, but what I see is that he can't control his emotions anymore, or most of the time anyway.

The question raised here is about the position in which you are and how can you reach to such a position where you can make it to win. All this needs special attention because it something you are answering yourself and in reality there is nothing but failure. You must be a rich gambler of high targets and strategic minded in order to have a grasp over any game you play. Gamblers with low targets and money will get trapped for a long time and may not recover it.

Sometime you need to spend some money to learn something, it is common thing in this world. Indeed you can find some free poker sites to practice but if you are relying on this free poker site then you wont get the real feeling of gambling as you are not risking your money. Once you think you have learned from the free poker sites, you need to make a step forward by learning with real money.

Playing poker is not just relying on luck, you must have a good strategy for poker. The more you have a lot of experience in playing poker, of course you already have the right strategy when playing. You can be a winner with a low or not very good card, but you can make it win with your strategy when playing poker.

Consistent playing of this game will definitely improve your skills but this game is between you and other players and there is no telling how good you have got if you not playing the same player's, if you will play the same players and get to win some prizes then you getting better but always playing different crowds luck can be on anybody's side.

"Best players" can read body language, as you described, only in movies and TV series. In reality they are sitting at one table with other "best players" who are not worse than them in understanding body language, making a good poker face etc. Good poker players can fake that body language to make others believe that they are trying to bluff, while they are having the best hand possible. Tom Dwan is very good in such things, but that doesn't make him constant winner because there are others who are good at it too, and also because luck is a big factor. In short, there is nothing you can learn that others can't. Those overconfident gamblers who think otherwise usually lose big in the end.

the luck factor is a huge part from seasion to seasion, but over the long haul if u win 52% of the times you will be a winner, but alot of people think you can win every time you play and that wrong, even pro players go on long losing streaks that can last months.

This is both true and not true. The longer you play the better you will definitely get but not as much as you may think you would.

Like if you start gambling at the age of 18 (legal age in many places of the world) and keep gambling poker for 50 years that doesn't mean you will be as good as the best poker players, there are people making millions of dollars in poker tourneys and you may never become like them, you still can, there is a chance but that doesn't mean you will be. That is why the longer you play the better you get but not as good as you think. That requires both a god given talent of calculation and mathematics and social cue understanding plus reading a lot of books and learning the tricks of the game and what not plus a big set of balls to actually pull off some bluffs.

Achieving success at poker doesnt really depend on your time played but rather if you possess the skill set and can calculate odds quickly
I dont personally like poker since I am up against other people who may have a better skills or are just better at math

Never played physical poker nor am I pretending to be good at the few one's I tried (like the Zynga one on FB) but yes, it is a skill unlike more common gambling games like dice or slots. There's not much that can be done with the random nature of it but a lot can be done on the human side, with bluffing and stuff (more important in f2f games).

The skill that can be developed would be calculating the odds, which would always be useful whatever variant of the game you play.

the luck factor is a huge part from seasion to seasion, but over the long haul if u win 52% of the times you will be a winner, but alot of people think you can win every time you play and that wrong, even pro players go on long losing streaks that can last months.
Someone who thinks that he can win from time to time is out of his mind. Playing poker isn't like, time will come for your winning streak but there are also bad days where you see that it's about time to think of yourself on how you should recover from those losses.
In the end, it's about the experience that will teach you all of those things that you have to learn. From controlling your emotion, managing on how much to bring in the table, when to fold and when to be brave.

thanks for that kind of trivia , now i know where the poker face word came from but your right that luck still matter the most because like what you said , some poker players are wise and they can fake their body language so that their oponnents can also make a mistake and they can win the game . those who are overconfident are better than those who dont have a confident at all no matter when they win or loose because being confident can bring positive results when playing a poker game  .

Maybe being confident can help you to win a boxing match, but it is hardly helpful in poker. Overconfident players act aggressively and they usually win more than others at first, but then this very confidence leads them to losing everything when, just by chance, their opponent has a really good hand. But if you mean(I hope you don't) that confidence creates some kind of a "winner's aura" that makes you to win a game, I can tell you that there is no such thing, even beyond poker. Overconfident people look silly, and that's it. They neither look like winners, nor do they actually win.

What do you think can be a consistent winning player on this game? is this game of skills or luck?
the longer you play more skills you get?
Maybe, experience is the best learning. Anyway, poker is not only for professional players. It does not require a lot of time just to win, it needs skills and luck. Even if you are too old in the poker game, if the luck is not in your hands, you will ne win. But poker also needs to be professional in appearance as well as movement so that you can avoid to be showed your play by observant players.

I don't think he can win 52% of the times because that will be too hard to get. No one can get a higher percentage in the gambling games unless he has luck and that is the most reason for every gambler who can win the games. Experience is the best learning, but we must remember, playing gambling without having luck is the same as losing money, and we are difficult to recover the losses.

If you only want to spend your time in gambling, then it's no problem for you, but most of the gambler will think about the money because money will attract them to play over and over.

You can become better by playing poker daily if you keep a few notes. You should keep notes for every hand that you think you will win but in fact you lose.By studying these notes daily it is a sure thing that you will be better than you were before taking these notes.
That is a good idea. You would not forget about your strategies if you do that. It is a kind of practice that will make you the master but I think after doing so for sometimes, you would not need anything like notes to follow the practice. It is I think very possible to save this information like a muscle memory. You remember these things instantly when you need them in trading or gambling.

I don't think the word there is "gets" but I think the right word here is  "earned". The usual lines my teachers used when we asked her what is knowledge for her, it is the set of experiences acquired by the individual and I think that also apply in Poker. The more game that player played, the more knowledge he gain from the game. Luck may be in his side but I think the main contributor here is his skill.

The combo will bring decent winnings for sure, and regarding to longer time it will increase your good judgement as time passes by and lots of
deals that has been showed up, you will generate good anticipations when you stay that long and witness more card draw.

yes, you can have higher analysis when it comes to decision making. But still poker is not about a good strategy but instead it is all about luck. The good turns of cards will let one decide for the win or not. One could be at advantage when one will be having new poker players.

This is why it is advice for new players to watch or play using AI first beforw getting into the real world of poker gambling.

I have seen many new players wining in poker and the older one are in big loses in gambling and poker. I do not think experiences counts in gambling. If you're lucky even a newbie can win good in poker. No need to be sad if anyone is new in gambling.

Gambling gives equal chances of wining , both to new ones and the old gamblers.

You are making a big mistake here. Skills need to be either developed or god-gifted from birth. Most people are actually developing their skills in poker and other such PvP games like rummy.

They are pros in these fields and its basically what they do in life. They earn their living from such games and they have to focus on that. People may think that if they play for a few days they would also gain these skills but that is a wrong assumption. Its not a get-rich-quick method. Being a pro in poker is something like a new life needed. Question is till then how are you going to feed yourself?

Gambling was oart of it, ofcourse the more we do it everyday then the more we learn it, the more we find our skill and the more we find our strategies that it will lead us use to it. It's like daily routine that can give us benifits.

but its not like you get better automaticly for playing more, you need to study what you did wrong and what you did right, thats the thing about poker, you can play for a million hours and still suck, its a game of fixing leaks in your play so you realy need to study books or your own game to find those leaks and stop them.

Poker and pvp video games have a lower barrier of skill that more people can learn.  No matter how much you practice you can't be a professional basketball player unless you are born with strong physical genetics.  With mental games like this everyone has a shot to succeed.

We can have skills in the long run, but we never thought that how much money we will spend on gambling. You need to think about it, and if you don't want to lose more money in the gambling games, you need to prevent that even if in the end, you can get high skills in the poker. The skills are not worth depends on your money and your time although, in that time, you will have a chance to win the poker games, there still no guarantee for you to win the games.

Skills is necessary if you're going to play poker, and you can be good at it through experience. The longer you play poker, the better for you to learn how to make an strategy.

Ofcourse on top of this is luck, sometimes even how skillful you are but your cards are not giving you what you need then you cant win that game.

I rarely play poker because I often lose, well I dont want to stay if im not lucky in the particular game.

The more time you will dedicate, the more experience and lesson you will learn. Even having those combination that you have mentioned, there will always be time for each player to lose. Everyone is vulnerable to losing and if someone has that kind of extreme luck, well that person is totally lucky. Poker mostly rely to skill of the player whenever you are on the table already, you just can't wish that you have a nice hand and let it play for you, no it doesn't go like that.

everything is very important in playing poker and will make you a great gambler, and besides that you have to be able to manipulate and bully to win the game.

Poker is surely a skill based gamble. Firstly you should be aware of all the rules. With several forms of poker running people sometimes mess up with the rules, specially in different forms of omaha.
The next thing is knowing your opponents. If you really figure out their way of thinking, you'll have a better edge. The stake they play, the time they take to decide are some clues that could be used to figure the mentality of the opponent.

I think poker is more on skills rather than luck because you have to be skilled in making the right decisions and you can make strategies to help you win and it is true that the more you play poker you will get better because you will learn from your mistakes and as the time pass you will get to understand how your opponents are playing thus you can make a strategy to get ahead of them.

usually when someone spends a lot of time playing poker and continues to focus on the game he is doing, then naturally he will get the skills to play and be able to play using mature strategies to benefit from it, but if we spend too much playing poker every day, I think that should be avoided because it can have an adverse effect on the habits that we will do every day

As long as you are exerting an effort to do so. I am saying this because there are a lot of people that are so annoyed when they are matched up to good players and saying they will be also doing their best so they can be good too but in reality, they are not. From games to gambling, I think you really need to learn a lot of things, not just bet on it or play with it, you can explore more things so you can be a great gambler and a great player, though I would forget being a great gambler, that might destroy me.

You are right. Thinking of yourself as of "great gambler", in a sense that you have some skills others don't have, is extremely dangerous. It is very possible that you are winning because of luck, and not because you are better than others in a particular game, and thus if your luck changes for the worse, you can lose everything you have, playing more and more in hopes that your skills will eventually pay off, while there never were any skills in the first place.

You will get better handling the card and having a good poker face but that won't guaranty a win, it's still a game of luck if you will learn a skill where you can read your opponent's mind, now that's the skill that will get you a lot of win in poker.

Yes, I will agree that the more time spends in poker/gambling, the more skill we've to get and that will be a tool in order to win more. But if we think of consistency winning, it surely won't be done.

Ofcouse, you can really be much better on playing poker or with this game as you play overtime.Gaining experience
plus knowledge on handling your cards will be there yet we know that this is a strategic based game and as the time goes by
you will face up opponents which you can eventually spot or study up behaviors or other factors that can help out
your decision making with your cards. It can really be enhanced overtime.

Consistency of winning cannot come in any gambling game including poker. Yes, if we play poker the more we will learn some tips and tricks but still this will not eliminate the element of risk of loss. I do agree that Skills do make us perfect and this is true for any of the gambling games.

Actually, it's easy to play poker because you will just memorize the rankings of the cards. It is just a basic decision if you will fight or not depends on your cards. All of us can play better in different kinds of games if we always play and try to be intellectual in each movement. Just study about it and you'll be great, no one became better or strong in just a minute, the experience is the key.

I disagree, it would be easy for you to say its easy but when you are already in the game it can be difficult. In poker you have to make smart decision to fight or fold, its not as easy as just fight or fold depending on your mood because you will only lose, and the longer you play the better you'll become.

Yes poker is something skills based game there are so many game for which you really don’t need to have skill but for gambling in poker we will have to have skills, playing card or playing with poker we will have to gain experience and play with fully concentration, so as much as time you get to play try to gain experience.
