Just luck if you ask me,because not even who are very skillful in bluffing while poker can't win consistently.But me neither lucky not skillful when it comes to poker so no matter of how long I am playing not going to get better at it.

Luck is nothing without a skill . let say your are lucky enough to get a good cards but you dont know how to play it correctly .  do you think you can still win with it ?  I bet no  .

And in that case it may be no use trying to get better. I know it may hurt feelings, especially if you are of a maximalist type and don't easily accept being wrong (that's understandable), but trying to get better at something which you are not naturally predisposed to also means that you are losing your time by not becoming better at something where you would easily garner a lot of points and ultimately success with half as much effort

it all depends on the accuracy and strategy that we apply when playing, if we feel comfortable when playing and don't expect big wins because we just want to know the tricks to play safely then the longer we play with mature strategies, by itself we can get skills when play

SOme of them had a good strategy to scare others and take advantage of the pool. This is gambling, you can be successful here if you are smart and lucky, both should come together but you cannot develop luck unlike developing skills so you should always focus on improving yourself for better chances, if you are more focus then maybe making it as your passion will bring positive result to you.

Poker is gambling yes, I think it is close to a strategic and skill gamble than other games.

Nope. Poker doesn't only need luck. but also your strategy and intelligence in determining the steps to win. the more you play in poker. the more strategies you have. of course it will make the possibility of profits getting bigger

But I believe your skill and knowledge may help only up to half of total requirement because the another half is fully depending on how your luck will be playing on one particular day. This is how many professional poker players are sharing about their experience. You cannot be sure about to have better poker experience just because of you are playing it for longer duration. Your skill and experience may go in vain if your luck is not in your side.

If what you're looking for is only studying then I'm not sure you will get the win you want. Playing poker is not a place that you have to look for and interpret with a theory, all you need is practice so you will get experience. Im not even sure what you are saying. A good poker player will play thousands of tournaments and be profitable. You cant simply play a few tournaments and expect to automatically be profitable. Its all about the long term.

It took me time to study the game of poker before i started playing it on a ground star and on a better note.

I will take long time before you are going to play because studying the players wont be easy thing to do. There are many type of players, and you may face different type of players every time you play. For me it is better if you study the players at the same time you are playing, indeed you need to have extra money to do it because you may lose some money while learning. As for me, learning just by looking around on the table without playing is not effective.
