Today is a very sad day for me ... just when I was thinking the crypto space is on its way to its formal glory ... here we are again... the market is red and over 15 percent down...

How do we free crypto from the hands of whales.. manipulating the market??

I was watching the Bitcoin price. It was holding over $3.7 then suddenly it started to fall and stopped at $3,570+ now it's around $3,610. I heard there will be dump soon may be this is it.

By the way I do not mind the price down though

It would be nice if price go down to $1,000. I have just created some orders on Binance to buy Bitcoin for $1,500, hope that price will hit my order.
But remember, price is not everything. Crypto will surely go back to its ATH.

It's no dump. It's still within the same support and resistance bands that we've been in since hitting the low 3000s and bouncing back. Anything about 3500/3600 is nothing to worry about and anything below 4500 is nothing to get excited about.

Honestly the dump for the past 10 hours has got me wondering what is happening, I really want to know what the cause of this wicked dumping today. God help us.

It always so funny for me when during the bear market we have a small pump after a huge drop and everybody is excited, because "it looks like a market reversal". Here is my little advice - get in step by step and be very patient.

Some of the people or maybe most are not good in this community.
They always bark at fall, FUD is all around the community and everyone is getting panic.
We have seen more than a week rise and then a day of fall make them shout.

I know such movements are very discouraging and disappointing for most of the crypto community but a small portion of the community is still making heaps of money from these crashes. Secondly i do not see any big negative event for this dump other than the etc attack that may have provoked the panic.

The cryptocurrency market, as we see throughout its existence, shows the down then ups.

Last days i had a feeling that dump will come, but i hoped it won't happened. We have to wait, because in bear market we are blaming whales because of dumps, but when bull market will come we will thank them for incredible pumps.

You can't, it'll do it itself and it will do it when there will be alot of whales then the prices won't be controlled. The more the whales the better for the crypto world.

I was hoping that the time of the dump would finally be over and now the price is again going down.

This is very bad to see the year begins with bearish trend this was exactly how the year 2018 began with non stop bearish trend. The best advice is hodler for a long time and think for another alternative source of income especially if you are not trading your crypto asset. But if you are trading you need to learn a different strategies than what you use last year that resulted to lost of value in your portfolio. Hence trade and stop weeping for every bearish event you saw.

I read this post and I started smiling because no matter what you do, even without manipulations, there must be green and red days for the crypto market. I'm aware that whales can actually cause a spike or downtrend in the overall market, but I don't think that's the case with regards today's market situation. Expect an uptrend soon. Today, Vitalik tweeted about people having mixed feelings on Constantinople, some don't even understand what hard forks are all about, afterwards weak hands started dumping ETH. I think the crypto space need more crypto education awareness, than price predictions.

It seems the panic hasn't died down as more people keep dumping their assets for fiat hence plunging the market even further. However, the truth is, there is going to be good days for the crypto market this year. People selling off their assets now are mostly likely to be selling off at a loss which could turn out to be a regrettable decision in the near future. The most important thing at this moment is to hold your portfolio and add potential coins to it, this way, you can be sure of a good recovery when things start looking positive.

I hope this is not a dump that many people are afraid of.
I am thinking that this is the turn around and we are now on board.
It is not good to rise with out any form of space and we are making it now.

It definitely seems that way and it isn't looking good. Ethereum showed some signs of recovery and we all thought things were beginning to take shape only for it to nosedive before even doing a major take off. It could be long before we truly see a major bull run and I guess at this time, only a proper enactment in terms of adoption can bring in that major boost. The most discouraging thing is that, Ethereum is dumping even before the hard fork, what then happens after the hard fuck?

I think this is a manipulation of the market that occurred due to the negative news background. In General, I think the negative news background is a fictitious event. When the market starts to grow there is good news as if it is beneficial to a group of people who bought at the bottom.

Price drops are always sad for everyone. I think it is another attempt to make panic on the market. Until investors do not understand that this is just a temporary manipulation, whales will continue to shake cheap coins from their hands.

I think the dump's just getting started. The price of Bitcoin can fall to 2000 thousand dollars, but it is unlikely to fall to 1000 or 1500 thousand dollars. I think that most people here understood that this is inevitable and will happen soon.

What happened today with Bitcoin and the rest of the market is quite a common thing and you shouldn’t react so sharply to it, in a week or two the price of Bitcoin will return to its place and the market will continue to grow too, so don’t panic and keep yourself in hand. Nothing terrible happened.

The market is still in a volatile phase and has not yet recovered

I perceive this dump to be the normal dumps we see prior to a hard fork. I am not surprised now but one must remember that it is easy to dump than to buy because you might not get in at this cheap price again. The same people who have dumped ETH by more than 8% in less than  a day can pump it without your notice an you will have to buy high now.

It is normal for you to be sad. That is the reason why sometimes it is not advisable to monitor the market status daily unless you are training on a daily basis. We need to be very positive. I really feel that this will be a good year for all of us.

It's still above the bottom. I see no reason to worry. There can be many outcomes. We can go up from here or form a double bottom at 3200 and go up from there.


The best way is not to part take in their schemes. Buy and hold. Only a small number of Bitcoins is being traded. The rest is held.

Price manipulation is still a reality of the crypto market and I see it continuing that way for some time until some regulations are introduced to protect investors against it.

You can say that again, I think nobody is expecting this, not even those so-called experts, but hey there is a good opportunity here if you are not afraid to buy the dip and sell it for profit later, I always have high hopes that market will get back again.

I might agree with that market manipulation is a possibility of this sharp decline. Since altcoins' prices are dependent on bitcoin, ones bitcoin.has been dump, and so the prices of coins are greatly affected.

If the prices keep steady at that range of $3500 and $3600, you may be right that this is not a dump. Especially if the market recovers soon. Let's wait and see. But, if the prices continue to decline, something is manipulating the market again.

It is totally market condition and not manipulation. Indeed, whales will helping the market to rise but they can't do alone if there is no participation by investors. The market flows shows that crypto is truly a decentralized market and it could changes its direction anytime. Preparedness for everyone would be very important to avoid from bumping our head, and so we can easily adjust our self on time.  

I believe the whales are the one manipulating the market, we get frustrated at times, but every dip give us opportunity to reinvest and increase our portfolio, sure 2019 will experience a bull run, thou not as high as 2017. We are here to develop a strong community for cryptocurrency.

Hardfork has occurred and affects all prices so the price of all coins collapses. We have to wait until the lowest price and then invest. I don't think of selling coins because this is very detrimental. It's better to be patient until the Hardfork Ethereum ends.

Market seem looking correction but we are know that crypto is very high volatile. Hopely this market fluctuation just temporary and soon recover again. Hard to predict market movement in short term and thats why i am prefer holding my coin for long term and i think thats a good option

Don't think of yesterday as a said day. If you don't have come up with a plan during these times, you need to start your day refresh and think of a strategy on how you should engage with such unexpected situations. The market can't kicked out the whales or I mean us, they are also the ones who are pouring out the market into good days at the right time.

i was also quite surprised to see the market situation, i think the crisis period has ended it turns out this still continues. i did not mind if there was a dump, because this would give me the opportunity to buy it at a low price.

Right now is indeed still not the maximum recovery time. It seems it's just begun to recovery. That way dropping sometimes is inevitable.

I am big supporter of crypto and blockchain technology but the things is keep going on the market is really bad for crypto community. 20% up and down within one hour in the terms of top crypto like eth and btc how new investors could invest in it. We should stop whales in the market. This things makes new investors worried to enter in crypto.

Current market conditions for the price of coins immediately fall and certainly will cause panic again. As small traders, we must remain patient with the current conditions. I think it's better to set the strategy from the start and use this condition to buy coins at the lowest price.

Actually it is difficult to release crypto from the whale's hand, what we can do is just follow the flow, because to compete with investors with very large funds is not possible, the path we follow by waiting for a certain moment might reduce losses in trading.

Actually you can't control anybody else but yourself, this market is cruel and it has no mercy, always put stop loss and if you can't watch the market for a period of time I suggest that you stay on usdt, lavarage players are smart and they know how to manipulate the market, that's why I say trading is not suggested for newbies.

Learn to have patience, it is not a problem if your guess is not correct. The main thing is you are still holding your assets, as long as you will not sell your assets then you are not losing any amount.

For me, it is ok to have a dump today and afterward a long bull run, let's see what is going to happen after the fork, but there's no guaranty that Eth's price will spike.

This is the price movements beyond prediction. I hope you are not new here. 2018 has given each investor cryptocurrency a lot of learning, I mean a continuous drop in prices until the end of the story, I guess you should be familiar with it. You can rotate your brain so that you don't always focus on the condition of the cryptocurrency price, especially bitcoin, because in the end your investment will just break. Try to look at the other side like the cryptocurrency function because it will make you comfortable.

No, basically having much more investment in crypto gains power, we do not have control as we are just small investors. Whales on the other hand are much more having capability to manipulate the market and we have nothing to do with it.

Downtrend is going on, it's sad, but time for bull run is not become yet. I think it is too early and need to wait more time, about until the end of this year.

Well i agree on that. I believe that the we need to to be more smart and play with the whales. Because there is nothing we can do now, of we didn't wanted to loss we must be patience and be more temperate in the market situation or maybe condition. That may be due to part of the volatility from the cyprto market impacting their prices, causing inexperienced investors to be panicked and dumped to save them. I saw they were involved in crypto at the wrong time  :'(

But the problem, when bitcoin goes down, altcoin will surely follow down too and sometimes it down too deep, and it's not to go up when bitcoin price gets up. Many people are frustrated now because they are making another loss and they hope the market can recover soon. I am sure bitcoin will go up again this year although I could still hold while waiting for the price. But I think I will buy more bitcoin if the price can go down too deep because that is my only chance to prepare for the rise of the cryptocurrency in the future.

yes the market situation is getting crazy, the price of coins on the market has declined again. I don't understand the cause until the price of the coin falls back. maybe it is true as you have said that the current price of coins is due to price manipulation in the market.

This will lead to lose interest on some of the people who join and invest in cryptocurrency. However, fluctuation is a good sign that cryptocurrency is still working. Eventually after some downtrends it will make another run and a good market price increase. There are reasons now why cryptocurrency made some fluctuation and that probably because of the latest hacks from ETC in an exchange.

This is nothing new if there will be an incoming hardfork to be made from a popular altcoin like ethereum. The whales are on the move to manipulate the market and their goal is to bring down the ethereum price at its lowest price so that they can fill their bags for a free token after the hardfork. There are some exchanges that stops some whales if they detected unusual activity but overall, there is no way to stop these guys.

It happens most of the time, just don't worry that much I think it will go up again. Just do a lot of research to know better why such dump happens. If it is because too many are just holding their coins and trading it when high, then this is not good because certainly others will be doing just the same. But if this is because of some other reasons then this might just be the normal usage we have oftentimes experience since cryptocurrency had been established. Volality is a constant and a common thing. You really need not worry just set up a stop loss level.

Cryptocurrency market is a free market, everyone can buy and sell Bitcoin or any other coin so the answer is no. No one can free crypto market from huge investors and not only in this market but all kinds of market (stocks, forex, etc...), there are whales that will always affects the market. Red days is a normal scenario and you have to accept the realty and be used to it. Of course there are people that will always take their profit when there is a certain amount of gains from the market, small or big investors have rights to make profits as long as the money that they are using is from legal activities.

what makes it impossible? because in my opinion, whenever big investors will come we also never expect it, so everything is still uncertain. it could be faster or be very long time

yes you are right, I think that makes sense especially for me who is not as good as those who can manipulate the market today. somehow must be able to survive even though this is not in the real world. at least with trading options while waiting for the market to recover is the way we can do it.

ye the market was down so much I don't know why this happen, I think because of upcoming ethereum fork? I remember bitcoin cash same happened when bitcoin cash forked.

My feeling is that we tested the buying pressure on Tuesday and found it to be far weaker than expected, and that this problem remains. As a result upwards momentum is small compared to downwards. I would not expect a large move to the upside, unless the Asian markets decide this is the time to buy.

Yes it was sad day because it back again to a dump price. But in this situation we should need to calm down and not being greedy to sell your altcoins to a low of price. But if we believe in crypto ill think we can hold our altcoins until it be back again, Holding is the best way for us to avoid selling low of price.

exactly, earlier this year it was not very good for cryptocurrency but I still believe that this year will be a good year for cryptocurrency, because this year there is a lot of good news about cryptocurrency so we have to be patient waiting.

I think it's just manipulation or a combination of circumstances which affect the psyche of people and they leave the market. I think you need to get in and not to pass if we believe in the market ! My personal opinion.

It seems the market conditions will recover not as fast as we expected, I think it will take a long time to be able to restore market conditions to a better one so I think people are patient and sure that will be the winner.
