While I agree that more and more people will be using crypto as time goes by (1 billion in 5 years, why not), I don't think the future lies in centralized companies such as Coinbase and other companies like it. I strongly root for decentralized services and exchanges, that is, if we want to avoid disasters similar to mt. gox's, if we want to be personally in charge of our funds, and if we really want to make the financial space independent and free. I don't think our ideals are aligned with the ideals of Brian Armstrong and similar CEOs.

Indeed, but i think in just few years billion people will use crypto. The main problem is how we find good coin to hold, because I don't wanna hold some of "shitcoin"  ;D

Unfortunately, the market rules do not work this way. Sometimes HODL coins are losing up to 90%. It's hard to keep them for five years.

my opinion about saving coins that have high price potential when stored for the next 5 years, yes of course we have to save because technology definitely needs the crypto world

I'm also saving some popular coins from a wallet, where I don't have private key or passphrase, my wife has that so whatever happens this is for our future, maybe 5 years from now if the prediction is correct, we will have a good profit if billions of people are already using top coins.

First you need to do your own research and find out projects for the future
Then you can bodily hodl, wait and wait for the future bull

I think at first we need to have a secure wallet to keep our cryptocurrencies safe for at least next 5 years if this prediction will really come true. As I can see blockchain technology is being applied in so many things in our daily life in so many countries, but I'm not sure if cryptocurrency, a product of blockchain technology, will be used by billions people all over the world or not :).

It is a very positive point of view. But I do not think that 5 years is enough to create great infrastructure for cryptocurrencies.

Even though I agree that cryptocurrencies adoption will grow in the coming years, when I see those numbers I can't help thinking that it's best to keep our feet on the ground and not build castles in the air before time.

If you are aiming to hodl your coins maximum 5 years or more then i suggest doing a research in every coin that you are going to hodl. Fundamentals and team is very important for it because if they failed to deliver a good product within a year. You will lose your money with that. The important happenings is when people recognized crypto within 2 or 3 years from now and adopt to the blockchain technology. We will have a good fortune if that happens.

There are three possibilities while HODLING coins for years:
1. Price going up as what you think
2. Stuck on the same price
3. Price going down significantly or even worst will have no values at all.

Even if all people in this world is going to use crypto in the next 5 years, it does not guarantee that the price will up significantly. Anything may happen, it is good to be optimistic but we should think about the risk as well.

The reality is possible to become the population of the crypto investors and user will become billions but I don't think even you have only few satoshi you can get hundreds dollars because for sure the value of the bitcoin on that is millions dollars per bitcoin and that is not happen in reality.

Start with top 50-100 Coins either spread your coins or research and choose strongest projects. Always keep eye out for coins after top 100 also as some this year or next will make it into the top 100 coins. Look for the coins that are working hard during this bear market. Our team have not stopped, if anything we are way ahead on schedule whilst other coins are disappearing because no work being done at all.

it all comes down to WHAT you hold you can't hold anything and then expect to make profit and become successful. a lot of the altcoins that you see today won't even last till the first half of 2019 let alone till the future to reach the mass adoption and good days. they will die fast.

I think cryptocurrencies in top 10 on Coinmarketcap are most trusted cryptocurrencies to hold till next 5 years. I think BTC will be still the biggest one in next 5 years and of course it'll be used the most in next 5 years if prediction in this article come true in the future.

Five years is not a long time I don't know the exact figure on how many, people are already using cryptocurrency, but billions of people in 5 years there has to be some big updates or events that can make people use Cryptocurrency..

Yes, I think that people who are joining the crypto currency at this time and investing in long term will have big profits in the future. So i continue the hold my my coins. I believe in this. I have the vision where 1 sat is to 1 US dollar but I can't tell when it's going to happen. 5 years of time will really bring in more people into cryptocurrency especially famous people are getting involve each day. Just like Jaime Dimon! Before, he called bitcoin fraud and that he would fire any of his employee trading bitcoin but now, he is starting JPM coin for banking currency purposes. Although 5 years may just not be that long wait, the rest of us are not that patient for even a week, they'd be selling at $4K before it can drop again to $3200. But what is to be restored today is the trust of people to the projects created, because if all of these projects are scams, it may take more than 5 years before the price of BTC to go up to $10K BTC.

I have the same opinion. It is now important to hold enough Bitcoins for the future. We are still in the beginning of the cryptocurrency market. More and more people will start using cryptos in the next 5 years. As early investors we will get big profits in future.

We can't say that but I do believe that someday people will adopt and accept cryptocurrencies because let's accept the fact that most of them have trust issues about crypto most of them thinks that its just a scam but I never feel hopeless about it. It's like those who hold BTC from 2012 to 2015. There are many people who have owned thousands of BTC and hold until 2017, all of them have become rich. So in the next 5 years everything is possible

We can't hold some altcoin for long term because many altcoin faced big trouble at the future like delist from exchange market and run away from team and owner, keep selling after raised your profit and don't worried about have to hold for long term.

From what i see, adoption not really work. And as time goes by, people who adopt bitcoin or maybe use crypto as payment or make adoption about it start to left it before it is spread to other people.

If you want to hold your coins for long-term, keep update with their development and news. I'm afraid if one of them won't survive in 5 years due to lack of progress and such that lead it to become valueless.

5 years? isn't crypto currency currently being used? even though some countries have legalized it as a legitimate financial transaction. how about we have to wait 5 years, now the crypto currency is very valuable.

Dont just hold the coins. if you think that the coin/token project is good then collect and holdl the half.
Never stay the whole basket on one side, play the other hald in the market.

I hope the one you chose to do work with would be really promising. there are very few of us now - those people who truly believe in cryptocurrencies. Therefore, there is nothing in it that we all will become rich.

If Bitcoin stabilizes and ICO stopped to become a scam investment, then we can be sure that we can reach that number, I don't know at the current situation if people are still joining the cryptocurrency bandwagon because of the current market condition and the mess in the ICO.

The truth is that,it is very risky to hodl especially when you are not sure of the project.We have too many useless project,hodl may cost you your money if you are not careful.

First, holding good projects is a good idea while on the other hand I don't think anyone knowa when mass adoption will take place it might be sooner or later but it will eventually come.

I want the way how you see positive vibes here on crypto space. But I guess there will be going to a much better transaction ways rather than crypto, other platform have already established their online payment method. I'm a full time holder and since 2018 I haven't sell any of my coins or tokens ,many lot value due to dumps and and other due to market condition but I have some not too popular coins that are good projects so I don't ever think of selling ,if I need cash I look for them else where ,not from my portfolio

Presently, now I have about 2000 dollars investment in the market but I will wait till my investment yield me x30 of it no matter how long I have to wait, I just see it as my retirement money which is still far better than what the government will pay me after my retirement from government service.

I am skeptical if cryptocurrencys will bring it so far in the next 5 years. Unfortunately, I think it will take longer for crypto to reach society so far and until it's used by so many people. I think it's gonna come to that, too, but I think it's gonna take longer. There are still enough people who reject cryptocurrencys and do not understand it and there are still many of them. It will certainly take longer for these people to be convinced of crypto and understand how to use it.  8)

Hold only the established ones. Most altcoins are crap and will not be in existence in the next 5 years. For sure, bitcoin or eth will still be there. But I won't trust holding other altcoins. Altcoins with declining value will most probably be out in the market. So better invest in a highly valuable altcoin with actual usage in the market.
