Another Option trading platform, I have not seen any really generate interest and attract significant users to their platform, but reading more aboout this project it seems there are big money behind it and could help gain more exposure in the space. From what Ive heard, Sparrow Exchanging is launching within 8-10 days. So, the wait isn't long before we see a new trading platform when it comes to Options trading. I generally find Options trading slightly confusing and hope that they provide a solution to that.

Yeah, Generally most of the platforms start as ICO and we are not sure if it is worth investing or not. There have been a lot of ICO scams in the past too but looking at the list of Investors and that it has already established investment, helps the fact that the company can solely focus on improving the platform and turn it into something that is worth investing or using it as a product.

Cant wait for the launch, I personally struggle with options trading as well and am looking for a solution. Hopefully, this is then one! :)

Can someone tell me about the security of the platform? As it is a trading platform, we can expect huge amount of Crypto to be on the platform at any given time. Hacking of exchanges and platforms has been a major concern amongst the users.

Yes, I'm also waiting for their platform to be launched, but I'm also a bit confused about their options, whether they will make it easier for us to see the platform or when we trade.

We missed out on Beta to see just that. Could have seen how the platform is expected to operate. From what Ive heard, the Beta testing was a success and they received a lot of positive feedback from traders. Can you guys add an option to modify the ID of a user?

I think it's difficult to remember, even though they can back it up. Having simple User ID like username would be better than having 12 chars as the user ID.

Thanks for your suggestion, we will look into it. As far as remembering the ID is concerned, that is pretty much never needed. You can login using your e-mail.

Hope i get this right

TradeProtect
If i make a call option at $220 per Ethereum, current Ethereum price is $200, within the expiry date, if the Settlement price is $230, i will earn $10 per Ethereum contract right?

How about TradeBoost?
I don't get how tradeboost work here
It allows us to sell an OTM Options, and why are we getting paid the premium here instead of paying the premium?
Lets say current price for Ethereum is $200
I put the strike price at $220, it allow me "Obligation to sell at $220"
So i am currently having a call/put options here?
Shouldn't putting a strike price above spot price "an Obligation to buy at $220"?

EDIT: Oh, hope i get this right
For TradeBoost, instead of being the options buyer. I am now the options seller?

Thanks for your interest!

You’re right, TradePROTECT = buying options by paying a premium (can be buy call or buy put) while TradeBOOST = selling options and collecting a premium  (can be sell call or sell put)

For your TradeBOOST scenario, where you put strike price at $220 when the current ETH price is at $200. It is a sell call position – meaning you are bearish and think the price will not exceed $220.

You get an instant premium from being an options seller - If it goes above $220, then your option will be exercised, otherwise it will expire worthless. Of course as a seller, you will hope that they expire worthless so that you can profit from the premium.

Lets say current price is $200, Strike price is $220, Settlement Date is 1 week Later
So For Day 2, if spot price touch and hit above $220, the options is closed straightaway?
Or it will depends on the final price during the settlement Date?

Ethereum Current price $200, if i set the strike price at $180, this will be a sell put options right?
Hence if i wanted to profit from this, i will hope that the price of Ethereum never hits $180 or else my options is close?

1. It will depend on the final price during settlement day. Sparrow Options are European Options - meaning options will only be settled on settlement day

2. Thats right! For sell put, you are kinda betting market will go up - so if strike is 180, your stance is that eth price will not go lower than 180. If it goes below 180 then the option will be exercised


Do make sure to not set your strike price too far away from the current price though, to ensure your order gets filled - so far on Sparrow, more than 90% of orders get filled  😉

What’s his profit?

[ (Strike Price — Settlement Price) — Premium Payable ]

[ (9,750–8,056.2) — 210.93 ]

= $1,482.87

The cost of the trade was just 210.93 SP$, for a payoff of 1,693.8 SP$. That’s over 8x profit!

Why buy Put?

Crypto options getting much press lately!

As I see SPO tokens is available for trading already to few pairs? May I convert SPO to Ethereum or other coins right now?

At this moment, Converting SPO to any other cryptocurrency is currently inactive. It is in our plans and interest to have Convert Now feature be available both ways for SPO but, we do not have a fixed date set for it to happen.

Why dony you have date? And whats problem with converting to other currencies if you have posibility convert from any currencies to your SPO token? Do you have a problems with liquidity?

There are a few things that need to fall into place. Once those things happen, SPO will be active on Convert Now. Until then, you can enjoy 50% off on Trading fees on Sparrow exchange with the SPO. No issues regarding liquidity.  :)

What things? If no issues with  liquidity than why only one way converting? This looks strange as every exchange token on other exchanges trading with a lot of pairs.

We have been live for about 4 months. Don't want to compare with other exchanges but it will take some time. I personally do not have the dates for it, but be assured that it will happen at some point in the future. Liquidity isnt an issue as I mentioned above, we traded volume over 25million in the first 3 months to put things into perspective. Please be patient. You dont have to wait, You can use the SPO as trading fees on the platform and earn trading options. :)

Hello, sparow exchange community, is this exchange product token (spo) already registered in coinmarketcap? I haven't monitored the development of this exchange for a long time, I want to see firsthand the developments that have been completed

Hey iHaveDreams, SPO is a Platform's native currency which can be used in the platform. You can use SPO to get discount in trading fees on the platform. I don't think there is a need for it to be listed in Coinmarketcap as of now, since it can only be used in the platform. There have been developments in the exchange. Currently, it can only be used as Trading fees for the trades on the platform. You get 50% discount if you trade using SPO, on your trading fees. At the moment, you cannot convert SPO into other cyrpos using ConvertNow. It may be activated in the future. Some patience is needed since it is in our plan but not the priority at the moment. You could deposit BTC,ETH,USDT,USDC,TUSD,PAX,XLM,XRP and make a few trades on BTC/ETH to utilize the SPO that you have in your account.

Smart Contracts calculate the difference between the Strike Price and the Settlement Price to determine how to transfer assets appropriately to Buyer and Seller.

Sparrow Options are European which means they can only be settled on the Settlement Date. If Sparrow Options are In-The-Money, they are automatically settled. If they are Out-The-Money, the underlying assets are returned to the Seller.

Sparrow Options are cash-settled. The cash settlement amount is the difference between the Settlement Price and Strike Price. This is unlike physically-settled options, where settlement is done with the physical delivery of the underlying assets.
