For altcoins to start surging in price bitcoin is always the one to take the lead first ,altcoin season is not here yet so let's stop complaining ,wait patiently for altcoin season to return if not then don't bother investing in altcoins and go for bitcoin full time

I am very interested in how the market will behave this time. Will altcoins be able to regain their positions after cryptowinter to their previous levels. Wait and see.

What do you mean? bitcoin is already taking the lead it went as high as $11k. So if your theory is right, we should be expecting alt coin to make a run as well? But the thing is with most altcoin the increase is not that significant as compare to bitcoin wherein most investors pour their money resulting in a more price increase in recent months.

If you look at the previous level of altcoins, it seems that it is simply unrealistic for the altcoins to return to their level, it should just be a summoned jump. I really hope that this will happen.

I still don't feel the altcoin season yet but it will be here soon, just be patient and wait for it.

I agree with  that, it is not realistic to hope for the same kind of a jump this time. Lets dont forget that there are a lot more tokens now than it was back then, it means that market should need more capital for those jumps than before.

I personally choose bitcoin over altcoins. I was introduced to the crypto market some three years ago, and ever since I have been watching dynamic of the crypto market. Talking about bitcoin, its price had not been affected by the market meltdown as compared to other coins. Even now the volume of surge in bitcoin is higher than other coins. So bitcoin is great.

What we should all realize is we have became more speculative than actually exploiting the benefits of crypto and blockchain. Which have made an unhealthy cash flow in and out of crypto which makes the price of crypto much more volatile and hence difficult to use in daily life. The price movement is the reason while altcoins are so much being bullied by bitcoin otherwise bitcoin is a much inferior coin that most of altcoins in the matter of usefulness.

The bull run is here already and almost all altcoins have nothing to show up till now and you still think we need to wait. Maybe, altcoins isnt worth it anymore. I'm just selling all my altcoins to invest in btc

True. Until Bitcoin will keep growing, altcoins all they can do is catch up. When Bitcoin will stop growing, then some altcoins will start grow compared to Bitcoin. highest they will be like a month or two after Bitcoins ATH.

yep for now the alt session is not yet visible but it looks like it will be soon, and also the possibility for an altcoin session is very large because the effect of bitcoin that has risen dramatically can also bring to some or many alt and my predictions may be alt sessions.

Yeah it will be the same pattern i mean first btc will reach some sort of peak point and then it should either stabilize or range then the bullish effect will be transferred to the altcoins and till then alts will remain under pressure.

I think investors are getting bullish right now on BTC but some of them are quite cautious on investing with altcoins after they've experienced the long crypto winter of 2018 but I guess soon they will have to diversify their portfolios after BTC reach a  significant price level and will definitely get hold of some top altcoins in the market in order to safeguard their crypto investments and when this happens, we could finally say that altcoin season has alrady begun. maybe the altcoin season will be created after BTC is really stable at high prices. because right now the influence of the BTC price is not too strong which is why the altcoin is still not pumping up maximally.

I can testify to that it's true because I experienced it before,
when Bitcoin surges then altcoins prices goes down or stay stagnant,
when Bitcoin's price goes down then altcoins prices goes down too(of course not all but mostly)
when Bitcoin's price stabilizes then that's the time were most of the altcoins prices goes up. ;)

Altcoins have selectively increased in the past and so would they in the future. The bull trend takes place in bitcoin and other coins follow it to some extent. But when the market decreases, altcoins are affected larger than bitcoin. The only way to get benefit from altcoin is to find the coin that would moon without the influence of the market trend.

Actually ethereum is like other altcoins, the increase is also not a pump because the increase in bitcoin is still reasonable. I think we have to be patient a little while waiting for bitcoin to stabilize after that altcoins follow and adjust to the price of bitcoin.

I don't agree with your opinion, the price of altcoins doesn't matter now. The importance of the Bitcoin increased after the threats by global players, Facebook now want to beat the popularity with new Libra coin.

yes the season of altcoin is not really here yet. in my opinion its will really good thing to invest in bitcoin for now and buy some altcoin a months before bitcoin halving . thats the time where the risk is lower in term of investing in altcoin and the time where you will see some development in some altcoin that will survived.

This is not true. It is always alt season, want to check this? go to cmc and look at the biggest earner, then look at the next 100 and see the biggest earners. There are token with +60%, 18% gain every day there are token that have huge profits and if you just take time and learn the market you will find opportunities everywhere.

If you want my advice is learn the "normal" trading of assets, then learn more about alts, see charts, join telegram groups and listen to what people are saying check communities for extra info. Too much work? Yes it is but it's also for too much profit.

I count any altcoin price according to bitcoin, so I increase my positions in alts at the moment

I've been through several years with crypto since from the start of having token saved in wallet and I don't have any perceptions, that those alts I had will reach to an specific price that will make it profitable. Am always focus on bitcoin, but somehow with the big volume of btc holders I think we need to also consider the alternative which altcoins must be propagated. Trading altcoins can be another passive income, but it really need to increase by the time altcoins season will be administered.

I have my funds on bitcoin full time and I have few altcoins that's just waiting for a decent increase. Someone who's investing into altcoins, you shouldn't depend too much with it. Yes, there were people that became rich with altcoins but don't think that it's applicable for everyone. Don't compare your portfolio with others but instead make them as your inspiration. Alt season or not as long as you have plans when to buy and when to sell, you will survive.

Well, altcoin season better get here soon, or most alts will be squashed into oblivion. I don't expect to see alts go crazy like they did previously, but so far we really haven't seen too many signs of upward movement either. At best alts are holding their own... and since they were already crushed, that's still pretty low.

I guess we need btc to become stable for 1-2 months before anything can happen with alts. End of summer would be nice... if it's end of btc halvening, there won't be much left for alts to recover from, they'll be smooshed into non existence.

Alts movements will be depends on how the team will bring something interesting for the industry, if the coins will deliver we will see more updates

It's always winter in alts. Bitcoin is decreasing in a slow rate while alts are running down. Bitcoin is eating all the alts. Bitcoin dominance rising ever and nearing 60%.

Altcoin season didn't even started yet. If you remember correctly, it needs around 1-3 months later for altcoin to reached their ATH when bitcoin hit $20k in last of dec,17.

I agree altcoins season is not get happening even thou bitcoin price increased altcoins price doesn't follow that much. I think altcoins season will probably happen in the next few months, let's just be patient and wait.

I think a true "altseason" can happen only when their quality projects bringing quality innovations. In 2017 bull run, ALTS did make historic highs..why? because they were new and every week they were releasing updates on their tech development, new exchanges etc.

I think this IEO thing in itself is an altseason..for those who manage to get an allocation. More quality projects, More trust, Much More Safer for a non-private investor.

Unless, there is a spew of "new alts" or should I say "STO's" I believe no real altseason is possible.

Well, yesterday was the pumping day of some of the altcoin, however, after bitcoin reach an ATH and being stable, altcoin will also start to reach its ATH, that's how marlet behave.

Yet alts increased or at least kept up with btc before it hit 20K. I recall several alts doing a nice run way before january.

If alt season arrives after btc hits its new peak, what will be looking at? At least mid 2020, more likely end of 2020? End of 2021? It won't happen before btc's halvening. If so, we'll be looking at an alt season that consists of  alts going from a couple of sats to like 20 sats ... they'll be so crushed by then that alt season won't matter.

And that may sound overly negative, but I'm saying I don't think a new alt season will take that long. Either it will arrive after btc stabilizes (10-15K?) for a couple of months... or it simply won't ever arrive at all.

Bitcoin hasn't reach a new ATH yet, maybe a new high this year but not all time high as our ATH was around $20,000.

Current market conditions can be seen if the altcoin price depressed against bitcoin but against US Dollar rises because it follows the rising price of bitcoin. At the end of 2017, there was about 20 days delay between Bitcoin topping out and the altcoins topping out. Generally, the altcoins seem to have their run a few days after Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is already on its way to the top and continue to grow from time to time along with the altcoins also. Although altcoin holders are more quite now I guess alt season is also already began. This is because of Bitcoin's hype that makes all the investors eyes on it but alts is also taking its way up.

If you wait foe the prices to increase than investing makes no sense.

For making profits you need to invest before the price increase,so you now think prices of altcoin will go up so invest on it.

Poor me, I switched all my Bitcoins into BNB when price was $9400. I  anticipated sharp decline thereafter but looks like whales have some other plans. Rather then fall in value, there was an increase of 15-20% in BTC value in last 2 days. Now I am in loss of 8% on my total crypto holdings.
We have seen in past that altcoins start pumping once Bitcoin pump becomes stable. After a dormant last day, BTC once again started growing. If this rally crosses $12,000 then I expect further fall in the value of altcoins. However, if it won't cross $12K then whales may switch to alts and we can see them growing instead.

Altcoin season should start when Bitcoin domination will be 10% less than now. Now there is still an opportunity to earn big money.

I didn't see any big pump with altcoins so I guess its just like a small move following bitcoin trend but over all, altcoins are still down and they still suffering from a big dump. Altcoins should recover now, because bitcoin already stabilize, I hope they can make it right before the new pump of bitcoin, I hope to see my altcoins to go high as well.

No, I found altcoin top increased to ATH level just a week after Bitcoin reached the highest price. Only other altcoin low cap is gradually increasing in the next 1 or 2 months

big dump? what do you compare with? if you look at the beginning of this year or at the end of last year, altcoin has shown positive growth. look at ltc and many more altcoins you can see a tremendous increase in their trading engravings.

I guess you haven't followed the progress of the altcoin right now as you were not able to see how they also increase their price as the price of the bitcoin continuous to grow.

Altcoins are not like btc but if you have followed them and monitor their price regularly then you can surely notice that their price are also multiplying. Like for example eth and other altcoins out there, you can look the previous price graph of their prices if you haven't notice their price increase.

It is always the trend. Bitcoin always set the pace. Whether a bearish dip or a Bull run, Bitcoin always leads the market. Then follows the surge of others altcoins in the market. Like you, I am just patiently waiting for the right time for my altcoin to have good value.

Depends entirely how you look at it. If you are basing it on fiat, then yeah, many alts have increased. But that's basically just btc doing the heavy lifting, raising all coins.

If against btc, then alts have gotten crushed (in general, of course there are exceptions). Which means an investor would have been much better off holding btc vs altcoins. When people say 'altcoin season', I don't really think they mean btc going crazy and alts increasing at a slower rate. They mean alts doing the multiple value thing, like btc has been ... and quite often outpacing btc from a percentage standpoint.

Of course they grow in pair to usd , but most alts are still falling in pair to btc . Even those alts which have grown quite well against the dollar are now at an inadequately low level relative to those prices that were in 2017 at the same bitcoin value. I think that the season of altcoins will follow the increase after the Bitcoin price is more stable at a high rate. For now, most cryptos are very unstable and they can change significantly. although the [rice of BTC keeps increasing, we can see that altcoins don't have big chance to follow it up yet. Few of my altcoin holdings have increased big, but compared to its ath value it isn't worth it. Because in percentage the growth experienced is very small, to reach the ath value it need to grow at least 150%. We don't know whether this gonna happen or not, but the hope keeps the mind strong expecting good growth with altcoins over the days.

Nobody knows exactly but it looks promising today since more altcoins increases in some percentage, only we need to wait the right time.

Don't make many mistakes this time. 2019 is going to be much different from 2017. Don't expect worthless shitcoins to give you market caps in excess of $25 billion, as those times are long gone. During the past 2 years or so, the community has realized that Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that is 100% perfect. Every other coin has some drawback, such as lack of decentralization or safety.

I believe the season for altcoins is right around before the year 2019 comes to an end.  But In my personal observation, I see now as the best time to buy and hodl more altcoins. I think we are far from that. Bitcoin has been and will be the king of crypto for many reasons. The session is pretty far, but few Alt like Eth and BNB are pretty decent on their own if one is thinking of investing in crypt other than Bitcoin. Just try to keep your shares more in Bitcoin, like 80-20 split or a 90-10 split. If not, then go for Bitcoin full time. It is rising and will continue to do so. And you aren’t likely to go wrong.

The problem with BTC breaking ATH, in the current environment, is that instead of raising the value of alts (like in the past), it just smushes them to like half their current value. Complaining wouldnt get things done, the best course of action is to wait until the altcoin season starts. The question is, when would it take place? This is the reason why hodlers have become impatient. Lately the price of each altcoin has increased, but as it progresses further into its peak, it has started to drop in value just like what happened to bitcoin. I have noticed that whenever bitcoin increases in value, altcoins would normally follow the hike i guess all we can do is wait, for now. Maybe altcoin season wouldnt start, maybe it would take place on the following year.

Not so sure a BTC rally (and hitting ATH) would even kick off an alt season. Problem is that the halvening is still kind of far away and BTC seems to be crushing alts. So it won't do much good for BTC to smush alts to half their price, then have an alt season which increases alts 2x -- just back to where they are now.

I think ideally BTC just stabilizes for a couple of months. Stick to the 10-12K range, and then perhaps alts can grow again.

Maybe, maybe... But i think that this bullrun can go just absolutely different from 2017 bullrun, everybody waiting for altcoin season, but the market usually goes right in the opposite direction, so we can see no altseason at all.
 

I agree. Patience is the key with Alt coins, and people need to have that when doing trading with Alt. Impatient people mostly leave and complain about the crypto world being non-profitable. Big price bump may be unlikely, but the price is increasing, and I believe that it will continue that in the future too.

Well i see that the bitcoin always lead every coin to rise or to fall. I don't think Bitcoin will finish its correction soon. The correction of Bitcoin might last for months to help it reconsolidating. After Bitcoin reconsolidation ends, Bitcoin will rise, then altcoins will fall again. Massacre will come to altcoins again, but it is for future. For now, altcoins will recover by taking advantage of Bitcoin corrections.

If ever there is an altcoin season this year, it might be short-lived if bitcoin continuous its bullish trends throughout the year. But expect some altcoins like ethereum and litecoin to go up even bitcoin is in uptrend of ongoing development like upgrade and halving respectively. According to my perception about what is happening now in the market of cryptocurrency, we are not actually on stage of bull run for altcoins dude. It is too far compared to 2017, were most of the altcoins now was its not bouncing their price, even bitcoin its not on stage of 50% of bull run too, because its been a months now where it reached the price of 10k$ almost each,l  but still didn't surpass 15k$ per bitcoin were most of the members predicted it will achieve that price but didn't happen, which is proved that the market was still unpredictable.

I think small investors are eagerly waiting for the altcoin market to rise up. We have waited a long for the recovery period of the bitcoin.
