FAQ 2 – How anonymous am I when using Smartmixer?
Smartmixer afford you complete anonymity. The platform does not keep logs or user information such as deposit and withdrawal addresses permanently. Instead, this information resides in the servers only for as long as is technically necessary for the purposes of completing a transaction. All status pages are deleted alongside the transaction logs not more than 24 hours after a mixing operation. Alternatively, the user can delete this information soon after a transaction.

FAQ 3 – How can you avoid a return of same coins when no data is saved?
As mentioned, we do not save any data in our database, such as deposit and withdrawal addresses or transactions. Such information is only used as long as is technically necessary to complete a transaction and is automatically deleted after. To ensure that our users do not receive the same coins they have mixed earlier, Smartmixer uses a One-Way-Encryption process with hashing operations.
Different parameters will be utilized in order to calculate the hashes. The result of the one-way-encryption algorithm will be assigned to the smart code and cannot be deduced from our deposit address. Therefore, the smart code should be entered before each mixing operation.
Additionally, we assign our users one of several pools for each transaction. So, whenever the user has been already assigned a specific Pool for a transaction, he or she will receive withdrawals only from other pools of the same category that are managed internally in our system. Thus, we guarantee the highest security in just two steps and without loss of anonymity. Our users never receive the same coins mixed before with our service.

For security reasons, we use Cloudflare to get better performance and prevention against DDOS attacks. Even though the servers behind Cloudflare have also integrated an DDOS prevention software, we want to make sure our website is always available for our users.

The highest priority for our customers and us is that all sensitive data will not reach third parties. For this we have built up a complex server structure behind Cloudflare.

We don’t permanently store user data, only for the time-frame in which a mixing transaction is active certain data must be stored in the database to complete the transaction. But during and after the transaction, all information are deleted.

Of course it is advisable to visit our website in the Clearnet via VPN and/or Tor Browser. The referral program works on 3 levels, each referral must enter a bitcoin address to join the referral program. This must be stored in the system so that the Referral receives payments to the deposited address. The Referral receives a private link that can not be extracted from the used payout address.

The affiliate can see his credit in his dashboard and can perform a direct withdrawal from there to his deposited payout address. The payout is made by a separate pool so that the affiliate gets clean and mixed coins.

In addition, the affiliate can see how much commissions have been made in the lower levels. The affiliates are linked together. However, information from the mixing orders is not stored, sponsored orders are paid and the affiliate sees only the current value of the commission and at what level the commission has been paid. The details are then deleted and thus nobody can conclude who has created an order. The used pool and the fee as well as the BTC / LTC / BCH amount is neither stored nor displayed to the affiliate.

I don’t know but have you seen their website? Looks really professional to me.. They woke up my interest through a banner on BMF. Hello , as we all know that there some project that existed before like this one, my question is, what is the main feature of this project and the uniqueness of this than the others?

Am still trying to have a full grasp of the smartmixer strategy. It's understandable that some persons want to maintain their anonymity at all cost, but I believe this may contribute to criminals being untameable.

Looking at the trend of this project and all other mixing around, I realized that the intention is nice but with some lags. I would live to know if there will be provision on Ethereum mix and the preffered fees to be set for considerable and profitable transactions.

That’s right, in total we offer three different pools containing coins of different combinations of sources. And from all three pools you will receive untraceable coins back, as you are having coins which weren’t yours before we mixed them. This means, you would receive clean coins in all three pools.

However, the source plays a big additional role for some people. And for those people, we have created these pools. At SmartMixer, you have the possibility to take control and determine by yourself which sources your mixed Cryptos should come from. In the Stealth Pool for example, you will receive funds from SmartMixer’s reserves and from our private investors only. In this pool, all other sources are excluded and we guarantee you to receive coins from cleaner sources.

As we do not keep any logs of our users, we cannot determine the origin of the coins which go through our system. That’s why we cannot rule out that persons abusively use SmartMixer. It may be possible that you receive portions of these funds. But there is nothing to worry about because there is one word that will eliminate your concerns: “Fungibility”.
Fungible assets are assets which can be interchanged with assets of like kind, meaning fungible assets are identical specifications with exact the same value. In the same time, fungibility protects you from the possibility that the police investigates you, if this asset was used in a crime before. Why? Because, if you own a fraction of the criminal money, then it’s near to impossible to determine if you were involved in this crime or not. This means, even if you receive assets from previous abusive activities, you will never be held responsible.

However, if you still definitely want to avoid to receive money from criminal activities for whatever reasons, you can use our Stealth Pool, which includes only funds from our reserves and our investors. Meaning it is guaranteed that you receive coins without criminal activities.

Unless Smartmixer somehow injects some sort of javascript into an extension or something, no.
If anything, it's far more likely they steal your bitcoins in the mixing process, since it is custodial.

(I'm not saying this is the case with Smartmixer (obviously not...), but this has happend in the past, and is still happening. Torwallet, bitblender, and countless of other small mixers.)

It's been a while since I've seen "a complex server structure" being used as an argument to be trusted!

Due to the suddenly shut-down and run-away of BitBlender, can you tell me are there methods to prevent such things happen on your platform?
Such as, the maximum period (days, eg.) that your customers can store their funds on your platforms after mixing.
People lose their money on scam platforms because they store their money on those platforms for too long. It is their own stupid mistakes, but what if the site restrict maximum period of asset storage on your platform, counting since the timepoint mixing process finished.

Mixer does his trick and sends the coins from one of his addresses C to your final address D.

A (you) -> B (mixer)
C (mixer) -> D (you)

Now there is no link between A and D. Now if the mixer in specific is effective, we can't really assure. :)

If I set Service Fee to minimum (1%) and delay to minimum (0 min) Mixing Strength Meter shows (week/decent/strong/smart)
If I set Service Fee to 1,0031% (the lowest possible but higher than 1%) and delay to 7 min (the lowest possible but higher than 0 min) Mixing Strength Meter shows (week/decent/strong/smart). I think that it's as week as first setup. What makes it so strong? Extra 0.0031% fee and 7 min delay (less than 1 bitcoin block)?

It is clear that you have knowledge in this topic, because you are right: Such low service fee and transfer delay is not advisable and not really strong. It is recommended to use higher service fees with random numbers after the comma (no even numbers). Also the transfer delay shall be set at several hours or at best, days.

We will fix the indicators for the Mixing Strength Meter to visualize a proper level of mixing strength.

Like that idea that's behind this project and also that you decided to launch blog, I think more and more articles will increase the knowledge of customers and so their anonymity levels.

If we mixers are trying to improve ourselves? The intention of others is unknown, but there are mixers who use great and unique methods to make cryptocurrency funds untraceable. You are totally right, not only people who do illegal activities benefit from mixing but also simple Bitcoin users. Simple Bitcoin users do also suffer from possible threats through not being anonymous with their finances. Threats, they don't know about yet, because they didn't experience them. By mixing their funds, simple Bitcoin users are safe from these threats, as no one really knows their transactions, balances and so on. As efialtis said, you don't have to be involved in illegal activities to take action for anonymity. Anonymity is a privilege, it's your own decision if you want to be it. We focus on simple Bitcoin users, who don't know the real possible threats of not being anonymous. Check our website out, to gain more knowledge about the benefits of mixing.

You’ve made it very simple, I’ll give you that. Any stupid could deal with this page. You have done really well, because this way any crypto currency user can now mix without any difficulties. Which would be cool anyway if you make an option via telegram in which you can use the mixer with the app. I know other mixers also offer this feature.

Privacy is the major reason for mixers. Nobody legit would love to support the mixing of stolen coins or coins that have been used for illegal activities but of course they can't avoid it.
Just like a normal person with no ill intent would use a VPN. All they would love is privacy and avoid getting tracked by wrong elements.

Don't you think interpreting the mixer with telegram would make it less anonymous. AFAIK, Telegram can provide data to Government agencies anytime they come knocking.

It's smarter to keep the actions only on our platform, because we know exactly what we are doing.

I had two orders and after about an hour I went to refresh and it disappeared.

I emailed and sent support tickets as well with the json files.

8.25 and 7.45 BTC so it's a slightly large amount and it's making me nervous.

Will update when I hear back from them.

EDIT: They responded back with me and even provided me a discount on my next tumble.

No delays, always received the right amount with anonymous coins. I have nothing to complain about. I am curious about when they will make the loyalty program available. Common SmartMixer, I have a lot of eth that need to be mixed. The traceability is awful by Ethereum..

Not sure why Ethereum is not a popular option for most mixers.. I have seen a couple of mixers that have an option to mix Litecoin or Dash. If i were you i would just swap the Ether for BTC or LTC on legit coin swapping platforms like coinswitch.co and then later on mix the BTC received.

Afterall you won't be prompted to provided KYC or sign up on coinswitch.

It's my first time to use this website. And I'm nervous because my bitcoin deposit is not yet confirmed even one confirmation after 24 hours. I think it was my fault, I directly withdraw from gambling site which is their transaction fee for withdrawal is free. Fee is free so I should expect that my withdrawal confirmation takes too long.

I'm not saying its your fault. I'm just thankful for this kind of service of your Smartmixer.

The withdrawals from gambling sites or services where the fees are very low or free are usually approved in batches by the service so when you have to do such a withdrawal, you have to put it in mind that it may take more than 24 hours therefore it's wise to first withdraw into one your personal wallets where you can control the transaction fee before sending the bitcoin into the mixer with the optimal fee.

Otherwise, it's great to know that things worked out for you without any complications

I have used your service to mixer my coins for a couple of times. It was a nice experience and the whole mixing process was smooth without any huddles. I however have a question of the Smartmixer code.

It's a good tool to avoid getting back your old coins but now since it's said that all the mixing data logs are deleted after 24 hours. How are you able to connect the Smartmixer code to specific previous and future transactions?

How can you avoid a return of same coins when no data is saved?
As mentioned, we do not save any data in our database, such as deposit and withdrawal addresses or transactions. Such information is only used as long as is technically necessary to complete a transaction and is automatically deleted after. To ensure that our users do not receive the same coins they have mixed earlier, Smartmixer uses a One-Way-Encryption process with hashing operations.

Different parameters will be utilized in order to calculate the hashes. The result of the one-way-encryption algorithm will be assigned to the smart code and cannot be deduced from our deposit address. Therefore, the smart code should be entered before each mixing operation.

Additionally, we assign our users one of several pools for each transaction. So, whenever the user has been already assigned a specific Pool for a transaction, he or she will receive withdrawals only from other pools of the same category that are managed internally in our system. Thus, we guarantee the highest security in just two steps and without loss of anonymity. Our users never receive the same coins mixed before with our service.

Some time ago i used this service.
I was interested in the option "Stealth Pool" on this site, I used the service for the intended purpose, the amount is certainly large for me >30,000 USD, given that the fee for this operation is from 4 percent.

I completed the order and after some time received my payment minus 4-5%

I don't think anyone is complaining about having limited wallets available at the moment. The complaint is that you shouldn't send them their own funds without a warning! If maintenance happens: tough luck, try again later. But if someone doesn't check by himself, he'll never know his funds aren't mixed if you don't tell them. You can use as an opportunity to improve your service, and ensure it can't happen again.

The letter of guarantee is integrated with a special hash. With help of this hash, we can verify the letter of guarantee and check that nothing has been changed. The letter of guarantee is only used when issues in the mixing operation occur. Meaning our technical department needs to verify it's authenticity, that's why it can be only verified with the hash. And that's why we haven't integrated a signature but can consider to put it in the next update so that also users can verify its authenticity.

The error message has appeared because of the maintenance work that takes place at the moment.

And you're totally right, this shouldn't happen. As you already said, we will use this as an opportunity to improve our maintenance procedure, as well as the signature in the letter of guarantee, so that such issues do not occur again. The technical department has already been notified and will take care of everything.

These "mixing" alerts don't pop up at the same time, or anywhere near the same time.


In three different browsers i observed the notifications. They were all different.

I came to the conclusion that they were either fake, or either only sending out notifications of the most recent transaction x seconds.

I unplugged my internet to make sure... and... They kept coming. I figured they were generated client-side.

You have done a very good job and it shows your intelligence, competence and quality management skills. But it would still have been much easier to just ask us.

The IT department has already provided us in advance with documentation on how these notifications are generated.

First we can confirm that these notifications are not served by our servers. These notifications are generated locally on each client independently and without the need for an active internet connection and are randomly if you only look at the source code and have no in-depth information about our statistics. You have already found this out very well.

The Javascript source code your have copied is indeed responsible for generating these notifications.

Depending on how you look at it and don't have enough information you might say that this information is not true. But this is not the case.

We don't want to give detailed information about our customer transactions, especially since we store only the most necessary information for the duration of the mixing operation and then delete everything but still we would like to provide such transaction notifications to the visitors.

Now, to understand that this information is generated locally and independently but are still true, you need to have the following information:

We generate three times more transactions in the currency Bitcoin than in the currency Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash.  And just over twice as often our customers use the Stealth Pool than the Standard Pool or Smart Pool.

We can also say that a certain number of successful transactions per minute pass through our service. That means: Mixing orders that are opened and where BTC is actually sent from the customer to the deposit address.

This information is sufficient to create a statistical relation and dependency. If you now look at the source code you will notice that based on the randomly generated numbers and the linked conditions the above mentioned information is represented by these random numbers.

So in summary you can say:

You're right, this information is client-side generated, but still we want to give the clients an insight into the transaction situation without publishing specific client data. Looking at this section of the source code, you now can understand that if you repeat the process a few times, you will get values that are close to the real values. The higher the loop repetition the closer the randomly generated values come to the real values. This means that the longer you visit the site, the closer you get to the representative statistics. Therefore it is legitimate to display this information to the customers without any disadvantage to any party.
