in my opinion there are risks besides things that are beneficial.  You might see the percentage increase in altcoin is greater than bitcoin but if the position where the crypto price drops you will see the biggest percentage decrease in altcoin. Considerations before choosing and using crypto.

you are right, you can invest in altcoin and get something out of it easy. but the problem lies on choosing which alt. very few alts can give you a profit for long term investments. most of the alts are in the declining stage esp those without usage in crypto market and most of them are.
when it comes to bitcoin, the profit might not be big but you are sure that they will still be in the market. most alts die in few months. it's your call anyway when it comes to actual spending of your money.

And actually I'm really dissagree with what you say, have you see the event of IEO? give me the coin who launched their project through an IEO which still have a high price until this time or at lesst its presale price, I think there is no. You buy Bitcoin and Ethereum on ATH, and try to calculate your current loss. of course you lose a lot on the altcoin, for Bitcoin itself you lose about 50% when this post is written. As far as my understanding altcoins give much profit than Bitcoin, patience test is desperately needed in alts. Cheaper does not equate to more profit. It does not matter if it is bitcoin or altcoin as long as it is fundamentally sound investment. If it is a long term investment, you must have a fundamental analysis of your target altcoin. Only then you could say if it will be more profitable than bitcoin. Investing just because an alt is cheap is a gamble at best.

In my experience, you shouldn't invest altcoins in long term. There are many reasons for altcoins to die or prices will collapse many times when you start buying. I find it better if you'll invest with well-established altcoins like Ethereum, Xrp, Bch, and Ltc. There are still potential altcoins that we could trust so we have to keep the faith. I understood on what basis you've selected all the three altcoins for long term holding. All the three mentioned were exchange backed altcoins, more the progress and adoption of cryptocurrencies more will be the usage of exchanges. Altcoins are not performing well since 2018, and the only Bitcoin is growing. i only choose to the top 100 in coinmarketcap, im tired in investing in altcoins below top 200 in cmc, its just a waste of money and also time, investing in top 100 is more profitable for long term, worth it it will give you great profit.

We have different ideas and perceptions, I respect your opinion but I do not agree to what you said. Even though there are altcoins that are cheap to buy, we cannot stil guarantee the returns that we can get. I still prefer to make investment with bitcoins than altcoins. Only few altcoins that I keep acquiring because I want my portfolio is consisting of potential cryptocurrencies.

If I could sell the coins which I been holding now, I used to do that but I don't see any improvement of the market recently. This time looks very different with 2018 but it's very similar with what already happened at the end of 2017. The price altcoin can't be generalized if that will always get a dump when the price of bitcoin is getting bullish momentum. Hi guys! Good morning, how are you? I have an absurd doubt and maybe you can help me. In 2018, I bought 15700 BTK (Bitcoin token) units and kept them in my ETHER wallet. I stayed this whole time without entering, when I opened the wallet and clicked to go to the crypto website, I was directed to the Bitcoin turbo token website, which, reading, is the new name of the Bitcoin token, so far so good! It turns out that the crypto supply dropped a lot, from 10 billion to just over 22 million. I found little on the net about this conversion, some say that old tokens will be converted into other values. My ETHER is counting the new price ($ 0.005) over the original amount of tokens I had (15700), accounting for $ 88. I would like to know from you if that is right, when I do the transaction, there will be a conversion to the new btk and i will lose some dollars? I also think is more risky to invest in altcoins then bitcoin, but yes it might be a better option because the price of sktcoins is not so high as bitcoin and can buy  more altcoins then bitcoin with same amount of money, but all depends what altcoin is choosen and if can make profit.

Unfortunately altcoins are getting their value only when bitcoin is trading relatively stable price levels and when bitcoin is falling or rising, most altcoins are falling almost all the times. I disagree this is a negative influence of bitcoin into altcoin markets but we need to understand that this is how altcoins/bitcoin relations are working for their own valuations.

Short term trading is currently the only way you can really make a decent amount of profit from Altcoin investment. Considering the altcoin market for a while now, it is very likely to make about 2% of your initial investment capital  after 6months of investing. Meanwhile, you can make the same amount of profit within a week if you are into daily trading. So why should i wait for 6 months to earn 2% whiles i can make the same amount trading daily within a week.

Lately I've been hodling ETH for long term. There ain't a lot of altcoins that I am planning to hodl.

Because, we don't know the exact times we can buy or sell bitcoin. It could be hasty to approve that altcoin provides more long term profits, you can make profit but not long term. Generally cryptocurrency give long term profit but altcoins pose as a risky venture especially with advent of ICO and IEO,  that fund teams that are not reliable and capable. They have no plan to execute project, they over value project and run away with fund at the end of crowdsale. They reward all existing venture that gave approval, publicise and brought them investors. I think regulation especially in crowdfund will help altcoins

You are right, sometimes altcoin can provide more benefits than bitcoin. In my experience Altcoins can be great choice when it is the matter of short term profits. For long term profits I think BTC is the right choice.

Do you ever consider the rate at which many altcoins are being dumped can literarily make you lose your money with a short period? Another important thing is the exchange platform you are using and the type of trading functions they have implemented. Many of the exchange platforms that lists a lot of altcoins are becoming a dumping ground and they are witnessing low trading volume and this is the reason why sometimes it is very risky to invest on the altcoin on those platform except they are top altcoins that are also available on other exchange platforms. I was ones a victim of investing for long term profit on the Dobi exchange platform where I was trading an altcoin with ticker BNOW. Initially, everything was going on smoothly and there was always a guarantee of making a 50% profit every week. This continues for almost a month until the token suddenly witnessed a massive dump probably by the dev team that later turn out to be a scam project and that was the end of my money >:(

That is true, but some new platforms with their new coins on the market certainly need time to develop and can be accepted in the market. at least the first year of platform development will enable us to calculate whether they are feasible in the long run or not.
