many choices, the price is relatively cheaper than bitcoin and the opportunity to make more profit. Maybe there are some benefits if I spend more of my money investing in altcoin and holding it for the long term. But the negative value that I found is that the influence of bitcoin is too big on altcoin until now.

The problem about holding alts for long term is the volatility. you can hold it for centuries waiting for the price to go up but all that waiting and energy you spent  could gone in vain just within few hours. i've seen to many alts that slowly and steadily going up and crushed to the ground just within hours or even worse minutes.

Cheap value not always become good sign for replace money, we should analyze first and manage risk as plan. Altcoin always follow bitcoin and there's chance they will dump if bitcoin goes deeper or scam. Potential coin can be identify from history chart, development progress and volume. Every coin has big chance to give us profit but when to replace and get out is the important part. Besides that long term strategy need big money to start, do you have it?

I think altcoin could never lose its correlation with Bitcoin, ever. That said, 2020 is looking to be a good year for both Bitcoin and altcoin. Alts performance during January even better than Bitcoin, I would say. Major ones are all moving bigger in terms of percentage. ETH, BSV, BCH, ETC. Heck even ETC went 10x right?

Yeah alts are more volatile but that's a good thing in bull market because you would get more in return.

I don't think so, but there are exceptions to the rules but that is not the general argument, altcoins are not good for long term profit, but there are few altcoins that have proven their worth overtime, and we can easily tell that coin by looking on the market, their daily volume, and thei official announcement, if there are new updates.

I think altcoin is just suitable for short term. The volality is high so it can make higher profit than Bitcoin
But of course, that includes high risk too. So when you wanna trade in altcoin, make sure be carefull of your capital

in my opinion there are risks besides things that are beneficial.  You might see the percentage increase in altcoin is greater than bitcoin but if the position where the crypto price drops you will see the biggest percentage decrease in altcoin. Considerations before choosing and using crypto.

The term altcoin is a broader one as there are thousands of shit coins in the market, which coin are you talking about to be specific, there is nothing wrong in investing in the top coins in the market which are successful, i would avoid any token projects as majority are scam or end up closing their shop once they dump the coin in the market. The market is all about bitcoin and it is not a big surprise the rest of the coins revolve around the valuation of bitcoin.

You need to make sure you study well any altcoin project before you even touch them. Also, you need to be actively engaged in the market and trade those altcoins frequently. Don't make the mistake I made in 2017/2018 where I was holding a ton of coins that tanked, some of them even 99% and I was left with a very small value bag. I could have been full time retired by now. Now I started again, got bags of this and that but now I trade those bags with long term appreciation potential for Bitcoin and some stablecoins and to grow a varied risk portfolio. I like to see my net worth in BTC and Dollars rise every month, even in a bear market. I check my bottom line now, not FOMO and FUD in telegram rooms.

capital problems depend on ability. to trade altcoin I think it also requires sufficient capital to get daily profits. although the value of altcoin is cheaper than bitcoin it does not provide a guarantee for us to be able to trade or invest altcoin easily in markets like now. try to do a good market analysis, because that will be very important.

Several altcoins was drowning at lower costs right now, and I guess more holders are now shaking on their feet upon looking at their blockfolio's turning bloody red on status. That's normal on times of bearish days, and while btc journey was pondering a good trend just control your emotions because it already happened from previous bullrun. Altcoins went so down before the real bullrun comes at rapid increase.
