Title: Ethereum remains the king of altcoins
Post by: BestEarningTips on July 23, 2020, 02:45:53 PM
We have etherum bossing altcoins since time past and there has been non replica of any coin that has tried bossing etherum
Just like bitcoin is a king on its own, etherum remains a king on its own too.

Looking forward to the influence of bnb tokens, and okb tokens can have on etherum dominance.

ETH no doubt is the king of the altcoins, I believe in this belief of other's here.
As I had to observe since 2917 Eth price value in the market remains stable and its holders'increase as well,
as time goes by now. And I am so impressed so far that most of the community still embraces what ETH really
all about.

They have been holding this position for many years and despite so many attempts and many competitors around specially in 2017, ETH remains the king of altcoins because.

(1) They have a charismatic leader on top, although he is no longer that involved in the development, Vitalik is still synonymous to ETH

(2) They are still the platform of choice for most projects

(3) Prime mover

(4) Their DApps is still dominant and still being used up to this day for deployment

(5) Has the full support of the community

(6) ETH 2.0 deployment

I have already seen many times the message that ETH is waiting for death and other altcoins will take its place, but I always knew that ETH is the king that will not get out of its place. Why am I so confident about ETH? The fact is that this is not just an altcoin, it is a whole ecosystem that has been proving its success for many years and has a positive effect on the development of the crypto sphere. ETH is the king of altcoins and will continue to be so.

There was the Chinese Ethereum, NEO and it's doing good IMHO.

Yup, nothing beats Ethereum as the king of altcoins and the place of bitcoin is higher than it.

BNB could be the next contender for Ethereum. If the Ethereum 2.0 isn't going to be successful, most people will look towards BNB which is increasingly its popularity. But I think the 2.0 is going to be a surprising upgrade for Ethereum and we can see its reaction.

Ethereum has a pioneering purpose which is "The platform that runs Smart Contract" until today despite that many projects are replicating Ethereum's success in creating the smart contracts innovation but one thing is for sure Ethereum still the original so there's no dispute about it. and of course the implementation of the upcoming Ethereum 2.0 update particularly the Serenity upgrade which is happening in early June 2020 next month.

But ethereum is not entertaining much for investing in the past couple of years only now people are getting back into ethereum due ethereum 2.0 and hopefully from now on ethereum will become bullish which makes most of the tokens as well.

Totally agree. Other altcoins might provide competition to eth but I don't think they could overcome it in the near future. The development and upgrade on the eth platform is something that is awaited in the months to come. The platform will continue to grow.

This is the reason why ETH is a strong magnet for everyone to have, besides having the potential and altcoin favorite after BTC even though the price fluctuates according to current market conditions.

Ethereum gas prices are a lot because blockchain is getting used more and more everday. Defi's are building on it and every good thing almost on ethereum. So it is very normal that they are king of altcoins and very valuable. They are getting more mainstream every new day.

Ethereum would still remain the most popular altcoin for years to come. It's still one of the most actively developed network with a large number of active developers. They are working to improve the network to make it much faster and cheaper so it could be easily used as a utility token. For the same reason, it's supply would not be limited and the new generation would be limited just as to not bring scarcity in market.

I thought ethereum was the number two coin in the cryptocurrency world, and the coin in the first position in the altcoin world. some coins have taken the position of ethereum, and some coins have also been reported to replace ethereum. however, the fact is that until now ethereum still remains in the first position on the most sought-after altcoin.

No, I would put BNB in another league.
Same as how you divided Bitcoin and Ethereum.

BNB can be the king of exchange coins and not in the row of Bitcoin.
It's better that way. I think so.
Somehow, they will be number one on their own league and could be easier for people to describe why they have both or all that coins.

It's quite difficult to say Ethereum will die, because Ethereum will not die and continue to grow. Ethereum has a wide ecosystem. But now too many projects have been born and could have replaced Ethereum someday if Ethereum no longer provided innovative updates and only used the ancient system continuously.

Nothing can replace Ethereum until now it has been in position 2 with big capitalists above the average of other coins so I don't think anyone can overtake it all because we know that Ethereum is very useful for all projects that use smart contracts .

Just because of the pumping right now many people are talking about Ethereum, well obviously this is the best moment where Ethereum has begun to show its identity as a servant and high coin.

Bossing altcoins sound too aggressive for the Ethereum I know. Sure, Ethereum has the best chance to come near Bitcoin but its position also a bit at risk for so many cryptos going exactly the same path as Ethereum. Even BNB token with a strong backup from the biggest exchange, Binance could make some upset if they are serious and patient.

Yeah it is of a truth that ethereum has been dominating the altcoin section for a long time, but I could remember sometimes that Ripple has also tried to overtake ethereum, although this wasn't lasted more than few hours.  There are also other altcoins that are doing well, for example Stellar.  Ethereum needs to continuing developing/improving, otherwise overtaking is very possible.

XRP is going down, and I wouldn't compare XRP with Ethereum, in any terms. I even believe that market capitalization of XRP
is a manipulation of some kind.
Ethereum can't be a king, Bitcoin is a king, and we will not see any coin, not even Ethereum replacing it. Ethereum is the platform,
the best we have, and I believe in Ethereum as I believe in some other coins. World is a big place, there is room for all of them,
but Ethereum is the first and it will be the most used in the future.

Ethereum is an absolute gem while i do not like comparisons and big statements but i was reading some expert analysis that concluded that ethereum has the potential to give serious competition to btc this bull season in terms of its increasing dominance and value. So hold on and wait for massive surge in ethereum value in next few months.

And Ethereum will continue bossing them because it has proven to be better than the other blockchains. Although there have been many blockchains which rose to challenge Ethereum blockchain yet funny enough they are still under Ethereum. Also, I think it would be better for projects to stop challenging each other but Instead work on becoming better and even the best in their own area. Ethereum took a different approach and today it keeps growing, same with Binance exchange, thus once the focus is to remain the best in that area, the platform in question will keep growing.

yeah, for me as well, i do not see BNB or OKB as competition for ETH, maybe some other coins and networks, but i do not expect that centralized exchange coins could de-throne ETH and Ethereum network, it would be a shame, and probably not good for decentralized applications as well

In Terms of utility, Ethereum has built the foreground for it to stay in a high position but I do no think I will be for long.
For how many currencies and economies it has o support, plus the transactions or icos ,it I s just not scaling well.

I don't know why happens to it next but there are any competitors that offer better utility like more transactions and services like DAX but don't have a 10 TB Blockchain. ETH is hard to deploy these days and most serious tokens have been looking into alternatives.Word is that even erc20 will be done faster by others. We can only wait and see how long it lasts.

Ever since today's surge of ETH, with massive push breaking consolidation zone, most ETH holders per say have been happy, putting up some "ETH to the moon" related posts. I believe this is just lil compared to what we expect in future, let's see how ETH 2.0 plays out. If there is one altcoin I can comfortably hold without having a second thought on long term basis, then it's ETH for sure.

Truth, until they manage to launch their own chain still using Eth system.

Also, I think it would be better for projects to stop challenging each other but Instead work on becoming better and even the best in their own area.

This should be the mentality behind every projects, instead of competing, targeting dedicated venue to be more useful in terms of system.

Ethereum took a different approach and today it keeps growing, same with Binance exchange, thus once the focus is to remain the best in that area, the platform in question will keep growing.

The good thing is, both are excelling from their part and allow investors and supporters to grow with the projects.

Don't jump into the moving vehicle when its already at it highest speed, during those days when ethereum went higher, investors took their funds hoping for a bigger rise but where disappointed. The ethereum upgrade will help the altcoins move faster than expected, the future of this coin will surprise the entire cryptocurrency industry.

it can't even to be called as the king of altcoin. Ethereum didn't influence the price of altcoins that were building on their platform. Ethereum is only affecting the price of ERC20 token that were using its own platform.

Ethereum has a very special platform and any new project will use this platform to develop, so ETH is undoubtedly the king of all altcoins. However, the value of this coin has remained low during the past year because since the ICO no longer attracted the attention of investors, the coin has been subject to major adjustments. I expect this coin to return to the old ATH again if people feel more confident in this market.

There is no altcoin that can compare to Ethereum because this coin always has a very important position in the market. There used to be a lot of coins like BNB, NEO, EOS compared to Ethereum but in the end there was not any victory for these coins. For me, Ethereum will always be the king of altcoin and any comparisons will be lame.

Yes, there are competitors but still Ethereum is dominant and no one can get close to it.

It's like bitcoin before, there are so called competitions including Ethereum but it remain unscathed after so many attempts. And the trust test for me is the market valuation, top altcoins, the price is getting stronger, liquidity is there, trading volume is up more than any other altcoin besides bitcoin, so what can you asked for?

There were already a few great answers to this point, I just want to add a few news to keep it up to date.

DeFi goes ballistic - https://news.bitcoin.com/ethereums-2020-defi-boom-doubles-active-ether-addresses-but-fees-skyrocket/

Development of ETH2.0 next phase - https://cointelegraph.com/news/eth-20-dev-shares-details-of-upcoming-community-testnet

And a little off-topic here, yield farming explained in simple words - https://www.coindesk.com/defi-yield-farming-comp-token-explained

I think if ETH 2.0 could become the industry standard even outside the fintech and crypto space, it could be the ultimate blockchain solution to go to for the years to come

Nothing unusual for Ethereum to be the king od altcoins still since most of the altcoins that rises up in the market are ERC tokens. There are just more developers interested on its platform than the ones that claimed ETH killers. w When the announcement about 2.0 will be on testnet by next month, the spike went real which made ETH a good investment that can definitely double in few months.

I don't see any altcoin taking the place of Ethereum any time soon because it has maintained this position for so long and it has not relent in doing so with major developments by the team behind it. It has also remained the original smart contract platform for many projects, although there are other platforms trying to beat this, like TRON, EOS and RSK

ETH is a project that knows what they are doing and started strong. That's one thing that made ETH the king of alts and always. You can't just beat it, from the top to the least so I don't expect anything low from them. So many project uses their blockchain and now that competition is growing, yet ETH is getting better. The will To get better is the drive to keep being on top.

If Ethereum wants to be the king, he need to do something with transaction price. Right now it is growing and no one knows when it will stop.
If this continues, it might reach bitcoins transaction price level. And Ethereum competitors (Tron, Stellar, EOS) wont wait and will try to overthrow the king.

Though they lack scalability right now I am confident once ETH 2.0 is out scalability won't be going to be a problem anymore but, this year ETH will have to face fierce competition in which I think ETH will prevail.
It's clearly stated that by ethereum code developer if the serenity update will upgrade the ethereum scalability to load a lot of tx at the same time. Scalability will not be a problem again as ethereum 2.0 is a very big update.

Perhaps, with the next update from ethereum developer can make ethereum stronger at the market. I think it will remain as the king of the altcoin because, with the popularity of ethereum right now, it is still difficult for another altcoin to beat ethereum position. However, BNB can be the next rival for ethereum. But BNB itself will need time to beat ethereum, so I think we will see ethereum price will have time to touch the high price again. But ethereum needs to be careful because there are many newcomers in the market that want to lift the position.

True, but if we look at the example of Bitcoin who has long been a king in cryptocurrency, the Ethereum must work even harder to improve all aspects that are still weak in their bodies, Ethereum is ranked second in the second level, but to move up to the first level is not easy, because what Ethereum has to defeat is the current king, Bitcoin.

Ethereum is a popular altcoin and for a long time, it has been holding its position on cryptocurrency.  Many projects in the past and present have used and are using the Ethereum network to fund-collecting through their ICOs and IEOs, resulting in increasing demand for it. Many people have said that some altcoins can take  Ethereum`s place at different times. But I don't think that's possible because the growth of Ethereum and its use has made it one of the best Altcoin.

Why BNB is next? Shouldn't it be XRP?
It is okay to ignore BCH but I dont think it is easy to ignore XRP. ;D

BNB though is in its right place.
It's best used for the Binance exchange and they are not going out of that box.
I have invested in it before but sadly I withdrew early.
Ethereum still have lots to happen. The staking process may not be hyped much yet. Maybe when its really near.

There is no doubt that ethereum has many function and adaptation in various need. Many people also use etreum for gambling and more. Ethreum is now irreplaceable compared to other altcoin and is the first altcoin under bitcoin that has the highest trading volume. There is no doubt that Ethereum is the king of all altcoins. And I firmly believe that none of the altcoins can overcome the current position of Ethereum. On the contrary, day by day Ethereum will strengthen its foundation. From the beginning of my crypto life, I have a special fondness for this Etherium.

Just like bitcoin is a king on its own, etherum remains a king on its own too.

Looking forward to the influence of bnb tokens, and okb tokens can have on etherum dominance.
Without a doubt ethereum is the king of the altcoins, the price of this altcoins has risen above what we thought it to be in the short time. Ethereum's bad run through the bear disappointed me so much, from $1400 to $80, ridiculous dump and it has not climbed that high since then. It lost most of its use case when ICO era was eradicated but it had made so much money from the period, as a project and for the team. The project face more challenges with competitors but the fund in their bank is capable of regular development and manipulation of other projects but the project seem to have more loop holes than any other smart contract project. I hope the ETH 2.0 has more to offer and could lead to the next bull. Ethereum is pivotal to altcoin. I believe the good run of ethereum will influence the altseason.

How about USDT. I think USDT currently dominates every crypto market. Even the daily trading volume beats the volume of Bitcoin. It's just that USDT is a stable coin. If the total supply increases, and supply circulation increases. Then USDT will take over all this.

Competition between Altcoin is always there, and to find out who will be superior later is to find out about the developments they are doing, both on the ETH and on the BNB, because the launch is clearly ETH earlier than the BNB, even though the current BNB This has also been very good development.

Ethereum is going up a lot in the recent days and I feel like that means it is also picking up pace with the staking thing as well, people are seeing that. Remember before the halving happened in bitcoin the price increased from 4k to 10k (went down because of pandemic) and that means price stayed the same after the halving as well and didn't increased all that much. SO you can see that people are buying before something happens and not after it happens. That was the situation in halving and I feel like that is what will be in staking as well for ethereum.

People are buying right now and they will not buy afterwards, which is why I feel like the best way to approach this is with care and wait until staking but do not buy afterwards or right before, buy it right now if you want to but do not buy it a month before it goes to eth 2.0

This is so true! ETH has been around the market long enough to gain trust and reputation through the market. There's no doubt that ETH is one of the biggest coins in the cryptocurrency world. Since the price of ETH is increasing, many people are skeptical about the pumps and worry that ETH may be a scam but it's too ridiculous. If ETH appeared earlier than Bitcoin, then perhaps this coin would dominate this market because, by comparison, Ethereum seemed to outperform Bitcoin in technology.

I always choose to invest long-term in this coin and only sell when I am profitable. Almost any new token uses the Ethereum platform and this is why the coin is always valid in the crypto market and is the king of all altcoins.

BNB Coin could be a competitor to ethereum but I think it will still take some time to shift ethereum's place in the 2nd position of coinmarketcap. etherum is still hard to beat because it already has a strong foundation as an alternative to the coin.

I agree strong foundation is the key to a strong and stable position, they started on the right track, they have unique features and they started the trend and the smart contract thing, the original is always the best and whatever they do or add the community always respond positively, I don't think there's any coin that can be considered a seriosu threat to Ethereum's position.

This is already a foregone conclusion, yes ETH will stay on top because obviously, investors are money are flowing to their ecosystem as much as we heard a lot of this called competitors with fast and cheap mainnet and project should move their Dapps on that network, no one can really challenge ETH because it is the prime mover of altcoin market.

Just look at the pairings in trading floor, most of them are in the BTC/x or ETH/x pairing? Why because both crypto are stable and most investors prefer them over thousands of crypto out there. Maybe we can see challenge it's dominance, but I doubt that they can overtake it as ETH as established a name for itself in this market.

As long as they can keep up and as long as they offer new features they will stay in their position, there have been a lot of threats and there was a time that they are overtaken by Ripple although in just a short period of time, but now they have a lot of competitor not just Ripple, so it's very interesting what will be the case in three years.

Yeah right but still they continue to dominate as they also continuing to develop the project. If they stayed doing well for sure they will keep this position and even there are projects who are also trying to overtake ETH survive.
You have to assess and not just relied with the trend, always pay attentions with development and surely you'll able to catch up.

I don't think Ripple will be able to beat the ethereum platform because so far the technology owned by ethereum is more sophisticated and more widely used for various companies, so I think Ripple will have a hard time replacing or beating ethereum.

although currently ethereum is in trouble with huge gas transaction fees, i am sure ethereum has thought about this and will provide better developments.
Indeed. There is no chance for Ripple/XRP to beat or replace Ethereum for being the king or top altcoins in the market because the Ethereum goal was to create or run decentralized services based on Blockchain technology. Ripple is also a promising coin because even it has a low price is still a good investment opportunity than other coins, but it has a different purpose and not suitable to beat ETH.

Ethereum is a very good coin in altcoin,
Ethereum can be called the king of altcoins in the way it has been constantly improving and maintaining its rankings since its inception.
Many people may think that the price of Ethereum decreases from time to time, they need to keep in mind that increasing or decreasing the price of cryptocurrency is a common thing.
Ethereum 2.0 has been updated. This is a huge success for Ethereum.
This has multiplied Ethereum's transactions many times over.
Anyway I think Ethereum is definitely the king of altcoins.
 Thanks.

There's ni doubt that Ethereum were still on the highest rank of profitable altcoins in the market since then.  Ethereum been good in investment and in trading, knowing that this altcoin were next to bitcoin and have already proved its project worth. There were some altcoins trying to replaced ethereum but then non of them succeeded. Well, however XRP and Binance were good altcoins too but it can't beat ethereum.

Eth is one of the top altcoins existing nowadays.
A reliable coin to invest in either for short or long period.
Thats why it is one of the trusted alts and should be included in our crypto portfolio.

Yes because people made it that way, even with all the flaws of eth net and the high transaction fees of late eth will still remain at the top - at least for now, but nobody knows what the future holds, eth was among first alts coin and has already gained the trust of millions so other projects will have to work really hard to step up to eth level.

Like most of the members of this forum believe Ethereum is the king of altcoins, it is true that it is happening now. Since I haven't seen
any other altcoins capable of beating Ethereum, Not a few people think that Ripple with the support of many banks can beat Ethereum.
Even Binance coin is rumored to be able to beat Ethereum, but I have never seen the top 2 cryptocurrencies occupied by XRP and BNB.
This is strong evidence that Ethereum is still the king of altcoins.

ETHEREUM does not grow like it usually do in the past, hot topic? I don't think so, it was not evident on its price, can't even hit $500 half of its ATH when bitcoin is starting a good run already, and going to reach its new high this year.

seeing bitcoin at $15,000 a huge success already, if ETH wants to grow also, it needs to reach at least $750.

For now, altcoins are dropping while bitcoin is strongly going upward.

No doubt that ethereum were still and always the king of all altcoins. The only altcoin that were considered as active altcoin for investment and trading. It was a good investment even for a short or long term investment but of course with the proper handling of an investor for sure it could generate a good profit. No coin/company will be greater than ethereum as long as it don't give life to that many projects.

yeah, it could be said that without Ethereum, Bitcoin would not be that famous as well
but, Ethereum is made for building apps, and ETH price in the long term is questionable, BTC is made as a store-of-value, and BTC price should rise in the long term, on the other hand, you never know what is going to happen

nothing can replace ethereum's position as the king of altcoin, ethereum is the pioneer of the altcoin smart contract just as bitcoin is the pioneer of cryptocurenccy so nothing can replace it even though coins are as good as binance coin and okb.  as I know, many people still use the eth network to make new coins.  eth was popular first, its use is very easy, comfortable, and fast.  the lack of eth is when the network is dense, gas prices are very expensive, but the presence of eth 2.0 will be able to cover the current eth shortage

but the prices of altcoins under ETH have exceeded the price of eth now even more expensive.

Absolutely correct, ETH is the king of Altcoins because of its strong use case, community base and easy to use smart contracts. However, there are other alts that has great use case and strategic partnership for future growth and expansion. One project that will revolutionalize the Crypto industry is EverusWorld, it's amazing how the platform has built #Brexily a topnotch crypto exchange within a short period of time. Traders are now trading even the native token EVR. From a TA & FA perspective, #EVR will go PARABOLIC in the near future.

What Ethereum enthusiasts needs to realize is that ETH could be great, I love it too, I have it on one part of my portfolio and I do not believe that ETH will lose its second rank all that easily. However this doesn't mean that it should not mean that people wouldn't make more profit with other coins or other coins do not make bigger gains not only in financial and price related situations but also technologically as well.

I agree that with ETH going towards ETH 2.0 things are going to change up again, we are going to see ETH rise in both reputation and also price and keep its place for a while more, which is why I think we just need to wait, I know we waited a long time but waiting a little bit more while like a year should be worth it if ETH team could actually pull of a proof of stake with fast transactions and cheap costs with all these amazing all around systems using ETH blockchain at the same time.

However I believe during all of this period, coins like BNB will be trying harder and harder to get bigger and better, I am not sure if it could ever fight for a second rank but it is definitely working towards that. They are adding so many places that BNB could be used for, it is fighting on defi and dapps and many other things with ETH and its blockchain is one of the most advanced ones as well. Which is why I believe it is quite important that utility coin could only go against utility coin which BNB can provide.

Also BNB gets burned constantly, which makes it scarce as well and this causes the price to go up too, which is why I believe it is vitally important to realize while ETH is getting more and more mined, BNB is getting less and less available in the market. I believe this could be one of the reasons why BNB could rival ETH in rank and price and everything else given how much it is used, liked and also scarce.

Obviously this doesn't mean BNB will be second biggest coin behind BTC, it just means that the gap is closing down and ETH is not acting quick enough to react to what BNB is doing so the difference is not as big as few years ago when BNB first started, it is much smaller and BNB keeps growing faster and faster because there is now so many people using it on places like its launchpad. Maybe BNB will become the new king of all altcoins one day, maybe it won't be , but one thing is for sure, if things continue this way the gap between ETH and BNB will be close to nothing.

I remember, in January 2018 Ripple has already beaten Ethereum and was rated second on CoinMarketCap but only for a few days. At that time, the whales have massively pumped XRP up to $3.3.

Nowadays Ripple's capitalization is almost fourfold less than Ethereum's capitalization, probably because the ETH blockchain is widely used in ICO, IEO and DeFi infrastructure. Since PayPal will allow its customers to buy Ethereum pegged assets from early 2021, I assume the ETH price will continue to rise. Additionally, Ethereum developers are currently testing the new "Mendala" network and are looking to slowly migrate from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake algorithm in the coming years, so this is another positive factor for the further growth of ETH.

Yeah, Bitcoin is the king of all cryptocurrencies, but Ethereum is the king of altcoins. 8)

Indeed, people knew it already and they never waste their time looking for another coin to invest in which seeing ETH on the market seems enough, and can't deny that it was really profitable. The fact that Bitcoin is still above, ETH is still there and we don't need to worry that soon it will be replaced by any coin coz never seen that there is a new one that even better and more capable than it has.

That ain't to wonder why Mr. Vitalik had to continue to push the launch of the new version (ETH 2.0)as a part market improvement and to make ETH even more adaptable and useful to the community.

I think one of the reasons why project team that wants the best for their projects spends so much time on it, is that, they want to provide the best of services which will be unique as well. Yes, there are few unique projects while there many scam projects that goes about copying others idea. With this little at heart, the simple reason why Ethereum is the king of altcoins is that, the team ensures everything is unique and hence will be difficult to copy. Also, with an efficient and friendly blockchain services, many new platforms will continue to leverage its blockchain, thus resulting in a more valuable Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum also have more Decentralized applications and the Ethereum 2.0 is another reason why the blockchain will continue being King.

ETH ranks high in the market cap rankings and is used by many people as most tokens are built on top of ETH. We already have ICOs, DEFI on Ethereum but let's admit that many new technologies are better than Ethereum and if they are good enough they can still beat Ethereum.

yes,, competitors only survive in months only since its launched but after few years there is no significant developtment from competitors that could be serious problem for ethereum. so far only binance chain that still show its power as ethereum competitor due its low fee in transaction. in near time ethereum core development will release eth 2.0 and maybe its be important update for ethereum . if not failed i am sure market will response well and price will climbin.

The main strength of Ethereum is its large developer community.

There are a lot of developers in the Ethereum ecosystem.  Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Tron, and EOS have a lot less of them.

Cryptocurrency developers are conservative people.  A trader or investor can "stop loving" one cryptocurrency and "love" another.  To "stop loving" cryptocurrency, a developer needs to acquire new skills, perhaps even learn a new programming language.

The community of professional developers is the main advantage of Ethereum over other cryptocurrencies using smart contracts.

Vitalik Buterin is a smart individual and innovative minded person. He created a network that can never stop running because about 98% of token depends on its availability.
The Ether is another booster for ethereum, one need ether to transfer tokens hosted on the network, this is why ethereum will remain the king.

Ethereum is also simple mostly user friendly in wallet, address and DApps.

Then aside from that ethereum could launch anytime soon on the working progress of ethereum network that could possibly change the how ethereum transactions could be done. In the case where mant could feel it then I guess more and more coming project will going to use the ethereum network.

They are attempting to improve the organization to make it a lot quicker and less expensive so it could be handily utilized as a utility token. The task face more difficulties with contenders however the asset in their bank is fit for normal turn of events and control of different undertakings yet the venture appear to have more escape clauses than some other savvy contract venture.

We can say that Ethereum is the king of altcoins from the beginning, this coin was the top altcoin in the market cap and I don' see anything wrong about here because as what I have notice, the project of Vitalik was really good in which he already think the future or years ahead of time in order to know that this altcoin ethereum will boom in the market. Take note that there will be an Ethereum 2.0, just think of that and what would be the success of this project when the ethereum 1 was just like so how about will be the run of the version 2?

Ethereum is supported by miners and many are holding Ethereum for a variety of reasons. Many people bought Ethereum for a very high price of $ 1500 in 2017 and so far they have not been able to pay back. Ethereum has been involved in ICO projects and DAPPs are mostly built on Ethereum.
It is possible that in the future when the crypto space expands and requires a better blockchain, Ethereum will be replaced. I always appreciate the technology factor, a platform related to smart contracts so it is not congested and has high transaction costs like Ethereum.

Ethereum is the most valuable altcoin in crypto because there are many platform using the ethereum blockchain.
Up to date, there are countless ICO or IEO or any new startup project using ERC20 token as their native token in their platform.
The more demands created on Ethereum, the more value rising on ETH coin as the most valuable altcoin.

The truth of the matter is that this isn't only an altcoin, it is an entire biological system that has been demonstrating its prosperity for a long time and positively affects the advancement of the crypto circle. Ethereum still the first so there's no debate about it. what's more, obviously the execution of the impending Ethereum 2.0 update especially the Serenity redesign.

There is no doubt that Ethereum is still king of the altcoins. For many years many developments have happened that would strengthen the the altcoin and would achieve dominance among them and second to the King of crypto, Bitcoin. With Ethereum 2.0, this will cement further being a leader and a coin that is still trusted by many, many people. If there were attempts by other coins to develop and become a leader in its own right, then nothing has achieved yet what ETH has achieved. And it will stay dominant for many years to come.

Ethereum 2.0 update is going to be the key for hype during next days for ethereum. I agree that ethereum is still the king of all altcoins and when bull comes ethereum will be the one that reacts first. The other alts will follow etheruem.

here we go. i was not expecting that much fast. ethereum 2.0 announced and altcoins started to raise and follow ethereum. And ironically bitcoin also followed ethereum this time  ;D

I am sure many of you will agree that Ethereum will continue to be the king of altcoin because it has a high market cap after bitcoin. But there are other reason that can prove Ethereum will always be ahead of other altcoin and this is exactly what I mean.

In addition to smart contracts, Ethereum’s blockchain is able to host other cryptocurrencies, called “tokens,” through the use of its ERC-20 compatibility standard. In fact, this has been the most common use for the ETH platform so far: to date, more than 280,000 ERC-20-compliant tokens have been launched. Over 40 of these make the top-100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, for example, USDT, LINK and BNB.

I guess people just prefer the oldy tech over many new techs, that's pointing to Bitcoin and Ethereum, if crypto space is all about better technology bitcoin and Ethereum would have lost their positions long time ago but that's not the case, the grandmasters keeps winning people's heart more than new projects

I think this technology is also a consideration but Bitcoin and ethereum are already known by investors so they are more trusted. In my opinion, investors will not speculate on new technologies that are still in low demand, while ethereum is used by almost all projects in cryptocurrency
Yes, ETH is a time-tested cryptocurrency. Investors need reliability, and new projects are like hype. Therefore, the price of ETH will only rise in the near future. This is a very profitable investment.

With many projects using the Ethereum blockchain making Ethereum in very high demand, DeFi projects are currently hype this year,
a lot of using the Ethereum network must indirectly push the Ethereum price up. So the current Ethereum price has gone up to $ 448
which doesn't surprise me. With the immense influence of Ethereum, of course makes Ethereum better than the other altcoins. And
until now Ethereum is still the king of altcoins.

considering the fact ethereum has been in the game for long, no other altcoin can shake its dominance. its nothing to wory about, everyone got their balance from ethereum chain, so no matter the concept you introduce , ethereum will remain ontop.
Eth is indeed the top altcoin and establish next to bitcoin.

It is the second valuable crypto because of its uses and platform.

Thats why eth is a good investment and there's more to look forward.

Just like bitcoin is a king on its own, etherum remains a king on its own too.

Looking forward to the influence of bnb tokens, and okb tokens can have on etherum dominance.
Ethereum has dominated the altcoin market since its emergence because of its practical use cases, tokenization, smart contracts and dapps there is still no match for ethereum, we can call it the darling of the market as every individual to every institution wants to use ethereum network for all their needs.

BNB is okay too, it's just because ethereum have more better use and huge community support. with the gas fees issue lately they will solve it with the ethereum 2.0. also a lot of platform in blockchain space using ethereum, so yeah
BNB is good but when it comes to the king of altcoins, ethereim will not be dethroned. Ethereum has good update regarding to the transaction fees. The eth 2.0 which everyone seems to wait for a long time pushed price upward. No wonder how ethereum wants to place next in bitcoin and remain to its position. We might expect a comeback ATH price in ethereum because of the recent updates.

Yeah, Ethereum has maintained its position. BNB has focused only on Binance which is a good use case, but Ethereum spans its application to a different field. With the launching of Ethereum 2.0, with more features, I think it's more scalable too, For Ethereum, there are a lot of possibilities and opportunities too.

Ethereum is steady now, it's going to $500 again, hopefully it will break that price.

However, we can't guarantee that it will remained the king of altcoins because if we still remember, it was dethroned by XRP for a while last 2018, but looking at the race now and compare both, Ethereum is already far ahead.

Compare also the price of ETH and BCH, there's a big disparity, it seems like BCH was really undervalued at the moment and beaten by ETH in terms of price, their respective ATH was not close so ETH clearly wins the race here.

ETH has always occupied at least 30% of my entire portfolio come thick or thin. This reduces the risk of losing all my portfolio to scam altcoin projects, since BTC actually takes at least 50% always. However, this doesn't condemn other altcoin holders, it's always good to hold coins belonging to projects you believe in long term. The major reason why I think ETH will do excessively well in the long run is because many projects depend on ETH blockchain and the team keeps building. I've lost count of DAPPS built on ETH.

not only difficult but can be said "will not be". In the past there have been so many altcoins that have tried to replace ethereum but unfortunately they all failed, even though many altcoins have cheaper speeds or fees but everyone has fallen in love with ethereum and will forever remain ethereum as the king of altcoins

The popularity of usage is really not questionable here. Even if at some point, the gas fees are higher, still, people are using this network. Why? Because they are already established in crypto. Though others are trying to address the high fees but they failed to get good number of followers. Also, I think, a lot believes with Buterin's capability. He will not let his platform die for nothing.

Even the known exchange token BNB came from Ethereum until they've finally made their own chain and run their token.

There's no competition for Ethereum if it's the throne for being the top of the altcoins. We can also think that there's no 2.0 before but there's an overwhelming use for its smart contract.

Well see more after the 2.0.

Almost every cryptocurrency hodlers portfolio will be having bitcoin and ethereum in large percentage compared to the rest of the cryptocurrencies. This is all because of its growth and the real-time usage. When something has got the real circulation the volume automatically gets boosted and so is the growth.

Ethereum can be stated as the king of altcoins for various reasons, the volume of ethereum will stand against the rest of the entire altcoins. Ethereum served as the base platform for the development of majority of the altcoins available in the market. Right now everyone are keen on the next update which is predicted to make a big pumping in the market. Bitcoin is king of cryptocurrencies whereas ethereum stands next holding the entire altcoins under its control.

I still in favor of ethereum as the one true king of all altcoins even if in a certain point in time it was out-ranked and out-shine by ripple still it manage to recover and regain its position as the top ranked altcoin. And now that seeing the markets bullish and seeing how ethereum rises up once again I strongly believe that it will make a new ATH value within this bull run happening at the moment.
There aren't to be designated as true good crypto but yes eth is one of the best altcoins in the market. But we know that other altcoins are striving too to become better like XRP that has one time beating eth in terms of marketcap volume. There was a active pump and dump scheme with xrp same goes thing to bch. If you had witness those times then probably you can see that there are other crypto that are also worth it.

You are absolutely right. There are many competitors of Ethereum in the market who provide same services with less transaction fees. The transaction speed of Ethereum is also a question mark.

You have to be patient to wait for the release of ETH 2.0, because the developers are really working on it in great detail so that ETH 2.0 can really be ready for release, and what you think is clearly very true because until now Ethereum is still in the works. rank second in the two sites that you mentioned and no other token has been able to move up to that rank at this time.

Bitcoin is the most popular crypto assets, and yet people are still questioning its speed especially during the time when the network is congested and that happens when the market is bullish ,same with ETH, it was more demand now so network congestion is expected.

These types of blockchain must be the main target is transaction speed and cost. The Tron blockchain is still faster than the first Ethereum. The timing of ETH release was perfect, in the beginning it was supposed to get incorporated in bitcoin but we know it is not that easy to get any proposal getting passed easily and they went as an independent project and it changed the market altogether and anyone who invested during the initial period made a lot of money along with the miners who helped with the project. Hopefully the ETH 2.0 will change the issues the project is facing but i am not happy with the change to POS.

BNB is what others can see to be the next one because of its various developments. But we can admit it that they are still far from that considering that ETH don't have its own exchange but it has built the idea of dex.

Well, everything is obvious here. When a particular cryptocurrency has success, everyone tries to repeat it, or at least declare it. Another question is if there is a real possibility of achieving the goal in these statements and desires, this plays a big role. To understand this, you need to understand what this or that cryptocurrency means and why it was created. I don't think BTC was created so that everyone could create their own BTC, the same goes for ETH. You write about BNB, but BNB has a completely different purpose and is in no way similar to ETH. Of course, you can believe in a miracle, but as we know, miracles do not happen in reality. If you want to see another cryptocurrency as successful as BTC or ETH, then come up with something new and more in demand.

Obviously, and everyone who already knows this is also waiting for the release of ETH 2.0, because now the moment is in good shape so it will feel special for ETH when the launch can be a good influence for themselves and others too.

Since I start doing cryptocurrency, ethereum is still one of the best altcoin we ever have in the league. And it is still growing I don’t know what in Eth 2.0 and I think it’s good to hear that there’s another Eth.

Yes it is and I think it will for a very long time. From the early days ethereum start to hold a good position in the market. And after that it holds the second position with a big marketcap. After taht it never lose its position. In the the market there are lots of competition and some of them are technically better than ethereum. But still people like ethereum. And they hold it. People definitely like ethereum. So in my opinion it will be the king of all alts.

We cannot expect too much with ethereum 2.0 because the problems that exist in ethereum at this time are also many who complain, especially for gas fees, which are still too high, because most of the transactions are small investors, which is clearly very influential. Although it has improved, it is still far from the start that Ethereum used to do. We must admit that ethereum is very much used as a benchmark for growth for all altcoins, which indicates that ethereum is in great demand but still will remain below bitcoin and that's natural,

I totally agree with what you are talking about, ETH is truly really the king of altcoins, but i don not think  ETH would rest content with No.2 in the cryptocurrency. A soldier who does not want to be a general is not a good soldier, maybe someday ETH could take over BTC, become the king in the cryptocurrency.
Crypto is not the same as real life, when you say ETH will not be satisfied with second place at the moment and want to take over BTC, do you think that BTC will stand still? and what you have to remember is that BTC is the first coin that was born and is in crypto, so he will always be the king of all Altcoins.

We have etherum bossing altcoins since time past and there has been non replica of any coin that has tried bossing etherum
Just like bitcoin is a king on its own, etherum remains a king on its own too.

Looking forward to the influence of bnb tokens, and okb tokens can have on etherum dominance.
Ethereum is undoubtedly the best altcoin of all time, haven't seen any altcoin that would take Ethereum’s place at the top, despite so many replica projects coming out everyday and challenging Ethereum, it still remain s the king of all altcoins, nothing beats Ethereum, it just keep bossing it, and apart from bnb, the project influence I feel can  affect Ethereum dominance is Polkadot, have really heard alot about it, it's seems promising though, but not sure it can still overtake ETH at the top.

There's a lot of good news ahead and it's normal to see people investing on ETH already, and especially in the bullish moments, that gives an additional confidence for them to buy and hold ETH.

Very true, at least 70% of new projects utilizes Ethereum blockchain, especially DEFI project due to its smart contract feature and ease of creating tokens on top of ETH blockchain, mainly ERC20 and ERC721. When it comes to DEFI projects and NFTs, they heavily rely on ETHEREUM blockchain, hence its essence. I think ETH is a very good coin to hold long term and as OP wrote, it's King of altcoins. Uniswap for instance which is the biggest DEX presently is hinged on ETHEREUM.

In some of the research that I made what is convincing aspect of Ethereum is its tokenization feature. It was predicted before that each country worldwide will use blockchain technology up to 10% of its GDP in the next few years. Tokenization is a contributing factor to the rise of Ethereum.

Moreover in one of the articles that I have read tokenization looks like these examples:

Tokenization of artworks. You will be able to own digital art as well as pieces of famous art with tokenization.
Tokenization of Mortgages. You’ll be able to own pieces of the Penthouse Suite of a hot new condo complex in Tokyo -- and earn from its rental.
Birth certificates, health care records, drivers licenses, and other important documents. These can be stored and secured on the Ethereum blockchain using tokenization. You’ll be able to prove your identity -- not by showing these pieces of paper -- but by showing they belong to you via the Ethereum blockchain.
Trade agreements, energy sharing, and other types of P2P transactions. Person-to-person business transactions will be more secure, efficient and official using the Ethereum blockchain.
Voting. No more “hanging chads” or other types of voting errors. Each person will have one vote on a blockchain -- and that’s it.
A few years ago, as I was wondering whether or not I should invest in Ethereum, the concept of tokenization and all its use cases for Ethereum made my mind clear like water: Ethereum is the future, and there are myriad reasons why Ethereum is valuable.

Ethereum is getting stronger as the king of altcoins after hitting a price of $ 592. After many years the price of ETH on the market has remained stable.  Moreover, Ethereum 2.0 will be launched soon, The Ethereum development team is currently working on significant improvements.  The new version of Ethereum is supported by the Staking feature which allows ETH holders to get huge rewards.  after Ethereum 2.0 was launched, ETH users will continue to increase, and it will be more and more difficult for other coins to overtake ETH as the king of altcoins.

it is natural to see the current development of bitcoin prices. In fact, I think that the current Ethereum price development is still slower than in 2017. However, Ethereum's development is still better than other altcoins. this has earned it a position as the best altcoin. And that is practically the reason why I only lock up my investment on Bitcoin and Ethereum. It is indeed the king of altcoins and receiving the 2nd position behind Bitcoin. It will become even stronger as soon as ETH 2.0 release. Though it is slightly far for it to reach its new ATH unlike Bitcoin performing now, I believe that soon or later as the Altcoins season enters it will perform just like Bitcoin reaching its new ATH. By the way, I've also been watching BNB this time in fact this is my 3rd option coin among all coins because it really performs well in the market.

The growth in ethereum seems to be related closely to bitcoins in my opinion. The general sentiment for crypto currencies is very positive this year. For both coins it was a great year. Bitcoins is usually the starting coin for most investors. But once we get familiar with other coins we should look to diversify our crypto portfolio. I like ETH a lot and would recommend any investor to include it in his portfolio.

At that time I thought it was because the market was still immature. But now it's different, investors are able to distinguish centralization and decentralization clearly and maybe in the case of XRP beating Ethereum it will never be repeated.

I also believe that Ethereum is the king of altcoin. Ever since I learned about cryptocurrency, I have seen that Ethereum is in the second position in the list of CMC and CoinGecko. The position of other coins is changing but the position of Ethereum remains unchanged.  Some coins are coming and becoming popular for some time then people's interest is decreasing.  But Ethereum's popularity is growing. There are several potentially good coins that can compete with Ethereum, like XRP, BNB, LTC, ZEC etc, but until now they have not been able to overtake Ethereum as the king of altcoins. Especially after Ethereum 2.0 was launched, reportedly the new version of Ethereum is supported by staking which makes the Ethereum price stable. That way will make Ethereum even stronger as the king of altcoins.

One way or another, the scalability problem needs to be addressed and the Ethereum 2.0 upgrade will partially solve this problem. Perhaps after the update, DeFi projects will again start to hinder the work of the Ethereum network, but I really hope that this will not happen. At least in the last 24 hours, Ethereum has already reached $ 600, although it has dropped a little after that. But we are already close to the maximum peak, which will surpass the indicators of the beginning of 2018.

Try to look the current chart of the Ethereum, you will see that the price has now straight 4 days momentum where the RSI is now indicating overbought. How do you determine who is the king? What about Ripple? Take a look on Ripple "jump". If he adds $150+ million US dollar volume, it will drop Ethereum to third place on coinmarketcap.

Or you determine the kind simply by popularity? Then yes, Ethereum is the most popular and recognizable altcoin. But, if we compare speed, then Tron is the King of Kings and also the cheapest one.

Ethereum is consider the Queen due to massive demands and large community of investors and also it is popular ERC20 platform. Very possible to see new All Time High when the bull run happen soon. By the way the ETH2.0 could change the flow of demands and value.

Yes. Ethereum has indeed become the king of altcoins, and the king of smart contracts. In this year many new projects with high prices came from the Ethereum smart contract. DeFi was the most influential part of the year, despite many claiming the DeFi system was a failure. No project can hit the moon in an instant, but DeFi does.

yes, even until the end of the world, ethereum will remain the king of altcoins, version 2.0 is in sight and this will make ethereum even stronger

If ethereum 2.0 is successfully launched in December 2020 this will certainly further confirm that Ethereum is a crypto that is more advanced than other altcoins available, especially now that it has introduced the ETH 2.0 standard, which allows for greater compatibility between multiple currencies, and also becomes a scaling solution that greatly increases the number of transactions per second of course. It will also move the blockchain to a different consensus algorithm, so that Ethereum will remain a more secure and stable platform in the crypto world.

Such things are commonplace. If you look at it, maybe ethereum will reach that level but not this year, more precisely it will happen next year. The good news is sticking out so I don't hesitate to invest in ethereum.

It is true that ethereum was the one who is actually reigning in terms of volume and the price in the market and it has a good platform making it famous and well known in terms of investment, we cannot say that it is the king of altcoins since there are lots of altcoins that also have good volume and has a cheaper value in the market, saying it a king because it has second-highest value in the market is okay. We should wait for what will happen if ETH 2.0 is launched this December. It is not a good idea to invest right now since the price is already on the top, it's too risky.

By means of popularity yes Ethereum was more known altcoins than XRP but lets take a look at the crypto value graph of XRP it was amazingly unpredicatable because of its continuous price pumped. There has a lot of altcoins which has a good potential for investment. I don't want to be hypocrite with it, but i am truly a fan of Ethereum but of course i did't disregard the huge potential of other altcoins like Tron, Ripple and Binance.

Better believe it is of a fact that ethereum has been overwhelming the altcoin market for quite a while, yet I could recollect here and there that Ripple has likewise attempted to surpass ethereum, in spite of the fact that this wasn't kept going over couple of hours. There are likewise different altcoins that are progressing nicely, for instance Stellar. Ethereum needs to keeping developing/improving, otherwise it is only a matter of time before it is overthrown.

Currently, Ethereum still facing sluggishness because of uncertainty for the crypto market. Once again the price has rebound back from the price level of $612 and remained down at $500.

In fact, not all dApp projects have been launched on the Ethereum blockchain. If I'm not mistaken, then the closest competitor in terms of the number of DAP projects launched is the Tron blockchain.
Nevertheless, he cannot beat the beloved Ethereum in popularity, just as Justin Sun does not try for this.

Both Ripple and Ethereum are cryptocurrencies that run on blockchain technology. This allows people from any location in the world to send and receive funds in seconds. Both blockchains have their unique digital coins, which you can buy and sell in many cryptocurrencies, but of course, there are advantages and disadvantages to these two altcoins, such as the shortage of eth, which currently lies in the cost of gas which is quite expensive and has advantages. eth has a large community, and market capitalization that allows eth to continue to grow in the future, while XRP has disadvantages regarding its relatively cheap price, and it is difficult to experience price increases over the past 3 years (despite the recent surge in XRP prices) XRP, of course, we all know that XRP has the speed of making every transaction that exists and compared to other altcoins XRP is the fastest in making transactions.

Even though its position is ranked second as the most popular cryptocurrency, of course this is not a factor that ethereum will be rivaled  with other altcoins, as far as I remember in 2018, only riplle was the only altcoin that was able to shift ethereum's position in second crypto after bitcoin, but at that time it was only riplle while only occupying the second position after then ethereum managed to regain its position until now, in general bitcoin is the king of all existing cryptos, but in particular, of course, the king of altcoin is ethereum which currently has a very large market capitalization and even its current position it will be very difficult to replace by other altcoins.

It is true, ETH will not easily collapse and be displaced by others, because many project developers are using the platform from ETH to create new tokens, from here everyone can see that ETH enthusiasts are very smart and big people.
The decentralized exchanges and the like of Uniswap really help ethereum gaining a lot of projects to make ERC20 token therefore if ETH collapse means those project collapsing also which not realistic at this point since many of them has huge market cap.

Ethereum is like having its own safety net by grabbing all these projects altogether bringing traffic to ETH network it's actually very resilient.

true, a lot of new tokens appear like examples of deFI tokens that are often rumored to fight ETH, but in fact they have not been able to match ETH this is probably because the popularity of ETH is very strong, and also the ETH platform is used for many transactions causing new tokens not yet able to compete with ETH.

Ethereum remains the king because most of the new tokens are getting listed in the ERC-20 platform. There are other platforms available and some of them are technologically superior to the ERC-20 Blockchain. But they have very low acceptance in the cryptocurrency market. It will take many years, before any of them become capable of offering competition to ERC-20.

Yes, and many people also like Ethereum tokens so that there are very many enthusiasts, despite the many new projects that use the Ethereum platform, so I think Ethereum is indeed very worthy of being called the king of altcoins.
till whenever ethereum still be king of platform , at this moment there is no platform provide easiness in creating smart contract like ethereum did. developers team more familiar with eth platfrom and they didnt want to spend more time just for creating token. if compared with other platform , actually there are alot competitors which is have same feature. but as pioneer in smartcontract creating, eth still the king.

Ethereum is known to be more advanced than Bitcoin, but the original, and prime always get the top spot.
Everyone who enter crypto space get to know Bitcoin first. I still even remember being a year late in finsding out about Ethereum.

The future is for Ethereum, which will soon throw off the champion Bitcoin. It is updated faster and is also used in smart contracts, which expands the possibility of using it beyond the cryptocurrency space!

Of course from the beginning eth has held its position high where it is being aspired as the second king. We know that btc as well as eth is one of the best currencies with lots of investors. In fact eth is now being used by many cryptocurrency companies, increasing the value and volume of representative by eth. There will be a surprise gift for eth investors in the future as well.

Ethereum is the second largest blockchain platform by market capitalization after bitcoin and is the best and more promising choice among other Altcoins, and besides that many traders believe Ethereum is a good investment compared to other cryptos.
So I think Ethereum will remain the king of Altcoins and will continue to be popular and the best among other altcoins, and only able to compete but not completely replace its position.

replacing etherium is very difficult, and etherium has been widely used by several successful projects, and I am sure their smart contract feature will always be used by new projects who want to make their own coins, the most important thing for now is that etherium must think of ways to make their transaction fees cheaper than other platforms
It's not that difficult as we have seen ETH dump in 2018 and XRP took its position, but ETH is a strong coin with big supporters so it was able to get back to the top as the best altcoins per list, and it's pretty evident in the list (https://coinmarketcap.com/) that it's marketcap was already far ahead than XRP.

I totally agree. Many developers are already familiar with Solidity and the whole ETH ecosystem. It would be VERY difficult for a new altcoin to surpass it.

Indeed Ethereum remains the king of altcoins even though it was previously ranked as the third largest cryptocurrency for several weeks after Ripple managed to move it from second place. But now, Ripple doesn't need to enjoy its title as the second largest cryptocurrency for long. Now this digital currency has to settle for ranking third behind Ethereum and Bitcoin, which are ranked first.

for now, it still applies. Quite a few people think that there are some altcoins out there that can replace ethereum as the king of altcoins. however, since ethereum became king of altcoins, it hasn't been used as much as ethereum. I think these altcoins really need quality to replace Ethereum's position for now.

Let's not undermine the flaws  the Ethereum ecosystem harbours, alot needs to be done by the developers on the Ethereum smart chain, we all had expected the launch of ETH 2.0 to make corrections but it is still at the early stage perhaps things could be corrected from Q1-4 of 2021. Ethereum truly remains the king of altcoins, LTC should be dragging the position with Ethereum any moment.

Not only BNB, also EOS and TRON. Especially TRON. Ethereum is very expensive. Even now when fees are not so high as it was in September you need about 0.5 ETH (~$300) to deploy an ERC20 contract for example. It's ridiculous!

When every other altcoin almost is basing their land on the Ethereum fiefdom then yeah, I think ETH should be king. With everyone else paying tribute to it. Staking may mean later that miners drop out but I feel like there is plenty in terms of rewards and miner fees to feed them later with the ecosystem sure to grow. It'll survive:)

For sure. I also think that there is very low chance that ethereum drop from that position. At this moment ethereum is the most used platform based token. And it has a huge marketcap in the market. And at this point of time there is very low chance that someone could reach that marketcap. In the crypto space there are many platform based token available, some of them are technically better than ethereum and low cast also. But people like ethereum. And it has a huge 3rd party deps support. I know this market is full of surprise but still it's hard to reach ethereum at this moment.

I don't see another altcoin that can replace the current domination of the Ethereum market. ethereum has proven to be strong and can stay in the top market in the crypto industry especially in the second place. If I'm not mistaken, last year XRP took over the Eth rankings but it didn't last long then ETH could take over again until now it still dominates in 2nd place in CMC.

Yes and always Ethereum still remain the king of altcoins. As what i have observe some altcoin newly risen or other altcoins were made based on ethereum system. But even though Ethereum dominates the altcoin world there are also some altcoins which possesses good at the crypto market value and one of them are Binance and XRP.
Bitcoin and eth follow the same pattern. If you pump BTC, Eth will pump whether other pumps are pumped or not. Almost all tokens have run eth blockchain and currently the defi project created hype has run on top of eth blockchain.

That's why Ethereum follows bitcoin in the hierarchy of rank of cryptocurrency in the crypto market. I already used to label ethereum next in bitcoin because the project team behind ethereum made it to be able to make ethereum in that position. And aside from this, users, investors and traders of ethereum proved how good these altcoin was.

the fact that ethereum remains the goto platform for the development of new projects which are mostly ERC 20 means that ethereum will continue to be the most valuable  of all altcoins.
The platform is head and shoulders above all other platforms and it is most likely to remain  that way for a very long time.
Other projects are trying new innovative things in the crypto world but none is going to topple ETH until it provides a solution that is more widely needed over ethereum.

There are many reasons to become an elite coin in the altcoins market.
1. Etherium has a smart contract, it gives the first transaction, and especially ETH growing more stability for coming Etherium 2.0
2. It gives safety to investors because support chosen by rules, it helps the systematize attack, I think this the best reason to be a king of altcoins.
3. It's a very unique altcoin that developed very well, and its growing system is very fantastic.
4. In 2015 ETH launched their trading in the altcoins market, and now ETH is the 2nd highest coins in the crypto market.
5. Last 5 years have no bad results, very well novel ideas, giving positivity for a future investor.

That is the reality of the current crypto market. No one alt can to one-up Ethereum. It is the most profitable altcoin and despite all the arguments on high gas Ethereum and its blockchain remains the most wildly used for different projects.
- The debates are created for one purpose, reducing transaction fees on this network, people are showing an attitude and asking ethereum's team to limit costs, proceeding to launch the upgrades but unfortunately, the attitude of the project is still very silent, they have not given an exact answer. However, all still has no effect on ethereum's position and strength during the bull season but this problem continues, competitors will start mining and target user sentiment, when this community is not satisfied, ethereum's position will gradually lose its original advantage.

Therefore, Ethereum will still delight its investors with large dividends. 8)

Not mentioning XRP that has having a problem now , what if once their case won? then the growth will start and ethereum is in Danger because of the bad reputation they collected nowadays because of the highest fee in which more than the fee of Bitcoin in some case.

If we look at Ethereum's market cap which is much higher than other altcoins, I also agree that currently Ethereum is indeed the king of altcoins.
Moreover, Ethereum's performance is very good, making many investors very interested in buying Ethereum. Although Ethereum is indeed the best
altcoins, does not mean perfect without weakness. If we look at the very high Ethereum gas fees,  maybe this is one of the shortcomings of Ethereum
that must be corrected immediately. Moreover, since the existence of the Binance Smart Chain, several users of the Ethereum network have started
to switch to using the Binance Smart Chain. If this is allowed to happen, investors will abandon Ethereum and can make Ethereum no longer
the king of altcoins.

Therefore, Ethereum will still delight its investors with large dividends. 8)

Hope you're right, about delivering large dividends haha but yeah I think defi will really push it for a long long time, even with all the other competitors coming up, I still have a feeling it'll do well once ETH 2.0 comes on.

Credibility issues at the beginning couldn't take it down, don't see why it'll come up again in the future.

I have 13% ETH in my wallet but how my god when they will solve the gas fee. a transaction today 50 TO 75$ ...sad
It is very annoying that a simple ERC20 transaction will deduce $50-75. But the situation has changed a little. ETH gas fee has come down a bit now. Now an ERC20 transaction is going to be done at $3-4. I think you can do the transaction now. In fact, I hope the ETH gas fee will be further reduced by July.

Antonopulos likens ,, Bitcoin as a lion and ethereum as a shark. Both have different environments, as well as their respective strengths and weaknesses. does not mean that Ethereum will forever be able to lead Altcoin or the king of Altcoins, because the development of digital currency, the more platforms that want to compete with Ethereum, for example, such as POLKADOT, EOS, and WAVES. maybe ethereum will lose out to the platform if it doesn't fix the weaknesses that Ethereum has. but I hope ethereum will continue to be the king of all Altcoins.
There is news circulating from some people that Ethereum will continue to improve its existing weaknesses, because currently Ethereum's weakness is in the issue of transaction fees, and this will experience improvements in the middle of this year, so hopefully this can be true and also running smoothly.

Transaction fees are so high that ETH becomes less attractive in the eyes of investors, retail investors really have a headache when executing a transaction on the platform.
I have been avoiding transactions on my ETH wallet lately.

Maybe we don't need to wait the final implementation of ETH2.0 as there will be an hardfork where EIP1559 ( Ethereum Improvement Proposal 1559 ) will be implemented and according EIP 1559, regular transection fee will be changes from the current transection system where two thing will be added which is "Basic Fee" and "Miner Tip". Basic fee will be burned forever and if anyone want to complete his/her transection faster than other, than he/she can pay "Miner Tip" to complete that. As a result, ethereum gas fee won't be that much high like now if EIP 1559 is done. So, other competitiors might loss their positions.

There is no doubt that Etherum is the king of altcoins although there are several other altcoins that want to try to win altcoin king status from ETH like Ripple did but it did not last long because in a short time Ethereum managed to reclaim the title of Altcoin king from Ripple. Well, indeed, BNB is now experiencing a very significant increase, but still, BNB will not be the king of altcoins. It is worth knowing that why Ethereum is the king of Altcoins is because Ethereum is not only a decentralized platform but also a programming language. What it offers are decentralized applications or dApps. Where DApps can help users make direct agreements and payments with each other without third parties.

Not the case for ETH as even the transaction fees are high, there are still lots of traders who continue to this chain. They don't have any choice since they have assets that base from erc system.

Everyone is waiting for ETH to improve transaction fees, but so far transaction fees are so high that investors become cautious when investing in the coin.
If ETH can solve the problem of transaction fees, the price of ETH will rise very high.

So far, even you seen chances to do arbs you'll think twice before dealing with it. The fees hurting everyone, that kind of opportunities is

worthless since you'll be needing to pay and cover the gas, most of the time it's more expensive.

- I agree with you, ethereum's title will probably still hold this year but with this title, many new altcoins have potential and are willing to look for a position, even toppling ethereum, especially since the cost issues are still lingering and unresolved, other altcoins are quietly competing on this issue, binance is a strong phenomenon in this factor. Perhaps the binance corporation and team are aiming for the number two position in the market, it's great that we can see the war of giants, this will prove a lot of problems and we will have a chance in this war

how will there be an increase in investors and enthusiasts? while overcoming the problem of high transaction costs alone takes a very long time.
I understand that the process that ethereum has to go through is not simple like other blockchains in making updates related to improving transaction and product performance. It has been reported that it will happen in July this year.
Currently, ethereum is still going strong, despite the current market popularity that belongs to Binance with BSC.

If we look at the enthusiasm for Ethereum tokens it seems that there are still very many people, even though there are some people who have switched to other platforms besides Ethereum, this is only for a while because considering the problem of costs that are still very high on Ethereum, meaning that they also don't hate Ethereum and still love it.

It seems that the metaphor has started to shift, because with the high gas fees from ethtereum, people are starting to look to other networks that have much cheaper gas fees, for example Binance / BNB which is a competitor for eth. but I still expect good things from ethereum 2.0, maybe it can be a solution to the problem.

Remember when crypto kitties hype makes the ETH transactions very slow and expensive in gas fee? It’s our new normal now  ;D

People starts using BSC now. I saw many projects created on BSC network nowadays. And it’s becomes the a plus point for their marketing because it can attracts small fish too.

However, BSC is too “centralized” for a decentralized network. ETH is just like the bitcoin of alts. No matter how expensive the price or fee, people will still use ETH.

It's my pleasure to spread the updates and happy to be the hardest hodler of Ethereum.  ;D

Tipping will be available, Here is some short list of the upcoming upgrades on EIP 1559:
(1) current block limit is 12.5 M and after the hardfork, block size will be 25M which means double of the current block size
(2) There will be two type of fees - one is Base Fee which will be same for everyone and those fees will be burned forever and miner won't get that. Second is Miner Tip which will be paid miners by those people who want to tip and make faster transections.
(3) Base/standard fee will be same for everyone and it'll fluctuate according to the "Miner Tip". For example, current base fee is $1 and current block completes a transection with using the 40% capasity of the current block size which is less than 50% of total block size, than base fee on the next block will be decreased into 12.5% and will be $0.875. On the other hand, it'll increase the base fee 12.5% on the next block if current block is finished any transection with more than 50% capacity size of the total block size. BTW, capasity will be depend on those who want to pay "Miner tip" as there won't be more than 50% capasity if there aren't any users who want to pay that "Miner Tip".  ;)

I hope , it'll clear the confussion about EIP 1559. Again happy to share with you as none ask for it.  :D

Ethereum will always be the king of altcoins and the best coin after bitcoin, it cannot be denied that ethereum is often compared to other coins as a result remains the most popular and second best coin after bitcoin.
Although the current high gas prices have not discouraged investors from owning or choosing ethereum, they are confident that the gas costs will be resolved as quickly as possible as ethereum will continue to maintain its position despite competitors or whatever.

This was a time when unperforming Tron blockchain was the only alternative to ethereum blockchain. Now that we have Binance Smart Chain, it will be very difficult to give the title of the King of Altcoins to ethereum as we could see series of projects on ethereum network switching to Binance Smart Chain. If ethereum doesn't act fast on addressing the exorbitant high cost of transactions on its network, it might lose lots of utilities in transaction charges to BNB which serves as gas fee for transactions on Binance Smart Chain.

Eventhough that issue still ongoing, this coin continue to have the support that's needed to keep his spot. Nonetheless, many developers and traders are still keeping thier assets using ETH chain.

The threat behind is indeed moving forward, there are  developers who are eyeing to this alternative chain if the gas fee coming from ERC chain won't be resolve.

It's a competition, expect that ETH will update this and find way to resolve this concern.

Ethereum is very powerful in the altcoin world and it dominate all the alts however due to plenty of issues that haven't fixed yet many of the crypto enthusiasts shift into a much more convenient blockchain such BSC, DOT and EGLD ecosystem. But I have a strong faith that once that the ETH 2.0 launch and once all the problems were fix, Ethereum will regain its high reputation in the crypto-world and will still hold the name "King of the Altcoins".

ETH is still the most popular coin in the market, they are still in the number 2 spot despite the delayed of the ETH 2.0 implementation, that's how big the trust of the investors on ETH, so they increase more once the ETH 2 will be launch and it might result to dump of some altcoins that has been an alternative for now while Ethereum network still charge a high fees.

Bitcoin, the world’s No. 1 crypto and the genesis of the current revolution in digital assets may one day bow down to a new king of the sector, speculates a researcher.

“Ethereum will continue to outperform Bitcoin in 2021 and will, ultimately, exceed its rival’s value,” wrote Nigel Green, chief executive and founder of deVere Group, a large financial advisory firm and asset manager, in a Wednesday note.

Green makes the case that bitcoin BTCUSD which was launched in a white paper in 2008 may cede its dominance to Ethereum’s Ether ETHUSD , which is viewed by some as boasting a clearer use case than bitcoin which is considered by some as digital gold.

Bitcoin’s value in 2021 is up 57%, while Ether’s has risen 318%, at last check on CoinDesk.

Just like bitcoin is a king on its own, etherum remains a king on its own too.

Looking forward to the influence of bnb tokens, and okb tokens can have on etherum dominance.

Bitcoin and ethereum are like father and mother for now in cryptocurrency, they are both a counterweight to other coins, almost no one is able to make replicas of these coins to try to market.

BNB is also the biggest part of cryptocurrencies, although at this time BNB has not been able to be above the two, all altcoins do not affect each other's actions, but overall there is no binding dependence of all these processes.

This clearly indicates the growing role of ethereum in the cryptocurrency market. My biggest concern about Ethereum is that it's gap between Cardano is narrowing down. ETH still has a market cap that is manytimes that of Cardano, but ADA made a lot of gains recently. And another coin that needs to be mentioned here is the Binance Coin (BNB). The Binance Smart Chain is also growing in popularity and in the near future it can pose a great deal of challenge to Ethereum. The ETH developers are still in their slumber and are doing hardly anything to make their platform better than ADA/BNB.

With high transaction fees in recent times, ETH shows that it has lost its appeal compared to other competitors. Especially BNB, BNB is increasing rapidly day by day, threatening the throne of ETH.
The ETH developers are still in their slumber and are doing hardly anything to make their platform better than ADA/BNB.
I believe ETH developers are still working hard. The ETH 2.0 update in early 2022 will help ETH regain its position. ETH is still the king of altcoins.

The ETH developers are still in their slumber and are doing hardly anything to make their platform better than ADA/BNB.
but in my opinion the challenge from ADA or BNB doesn't seem to be able to match the ETH market capitalization. even though ADA and BNB do double pump it still seems to be below ETH. for ETH developers maybe they are doing big plans, because we know every time there is an issue about ETH the price of ETH becomes very volatile and it is very profitable for ETH

I believe that Etherium is the king of altcoins until now. As you can see the price is very high compared to any altcoins ETH 0rice is very high. I think ir will continue to increase more.

Ethereum is the king of all altcoins, I have no argument with that, it will not wear that crown for long. With the way Bsc (BNB) is advancing it will no longer take much more longer before it will over shadow ETH.

It's not easy for sure the two coins can compete with Ethereum,
but after all anything can happen and it is possible that ADA or BNB can match Ethereum's market capitalization,
although actually if we talk for now it looks like it won't happen moreover Ethereum will definitely continue to grow too

BSC is advancing for sure but cant say right now that it will overtake ETH soon yes there can be tough fight between them but my choise would still be ethereum right now. I feel ethereum would hold its position at the second spot in the coinmarketcap for a little bit more longer.

I strongly agree if etherem is said to be the king of altcoins, because its popularity cannot be rivaled by other altcoins, besides that ETH is also growing very rapidly, so it is not surprising that this altcoin has become the favorite choice of investors, even though the costs are currently very high, but I believe with  the presence of the London hard fork this problem will be resolved.

Ethereum was the king from the beginning. It has a lot of things unique on its own that mark itself special. Remember all the altcoin that's used to be in the top 10 and even ahead of Ethereum? They're either gone or fall back to behind of Ethereum as today. Now it isn't about 'king of altcoins', it was about consolidating power for Ethereum, to do something that other altcoins will follow suit.

There has been a great challenge in market gap between ETH & ADA and ETH & XRP. If you closely watch these market gaps, you will be surprised to see them moving back and forth. I have been seeing it for past 4 years. However, as ETH is the second cyrpto coin if i am not wrong, always has chace to grow up in price after Bitcoin. So a best coin to invest in as well.

Etherem is the most favored altcoin by investors and other crypto users, because ETH has very good potential, this can be seen from its growth from time to time increasing, so its popularity is very high in the crypto market, and in my opinion etherem is the king of  all altcoins, because no altcoin can match the achievement of ETH, it is proven that etherem is still firmly in the second rank of CMC alongside BTC.
ethereum is an old altcoin whose appearance has always been convincing from the start, we know eth is always in second place, and to maintain it it is necessary to maintain the trust of its investors, and that is what eth has done until now. lastly eth did hardforlk london and proved successful in gaining investors' interest, although many people seem to compare it with bnb, but indeed both are potential altcoins

Ethereum is still the best altcoin in the market I believe. BNB seems to be the closest altcoin that has a potential to put up a good fight against Ethereum in the future. But I'm not sure of it. As long as Ethereum developers continue to improve Ethereum, BNB can't keep up with it. However, there is a serious problem which really bothers the investors. It is high fees. Whenever the market is on a good run, we see that the fees are increasing also. It is said that Ethereum 2.0 will solve the problem in the future. We will wait and see what happens.

we will see more smart contract projects that will rival ethereum . more projects will keep coming up but ethereum as the first project to develop smart contract will always remain at the top. the current project facing ethereum is the high fees. if this issue is not resolve. we might see other top smart contract projects surpass ethereum and it will surely happen. platforms like avalanche and solana are making the rounds.

yes for now ethereum is the largest altcoins and has a high price but with current ethereum problems it can affect its popularity in the future, if ethereum doesn't solve it soon, I'm here talking fees
BNB is now starting to grow and has very cheap fees, maybe this will be the toughest competitor or maybe it can overtake ethereum in the future

We share the same opinion; BNB is frequently used by a large number of investors, particularly in this era of NFTs, the majority of which are created in Binance Smart Chain. Of course, people will choose the cheapest option that allows a large number of people to enter the market without incurring a gas fee.

Cardano is on a roll right now; reaching $3 this year is a distinct possibility, and it may even rise further. Cardano, based on the roadmap, gougen could be finished and smart contracts, NFTs could be created in the Cardano network.

Common reference of other alts is on ethereum, ethereum always been dominant of all the alts, king of all king in alternative coin category. Many cryto investor still looking and investing in Ethereum like bitcoin which is also the strongest coin that we all know. Ethereum is already a legend and used all over the entire cryptoworld.

yes, ETH is the king of all atlcoins but not only this but we should also mention that BNB currently has a sizable position not inferior to ETH, however BNB still has a limited amount, there is a some exchanges still do not accept BNB Currency Exchange, ETH is accepted and more popular than BNB, but in the future BNB has very strong momentum and team is one of the biggest exchanges in the world, because So in my opinion BNB will grow even more in the future.

Lol, It is not necessary that ETH will forever be the king of altcoins.  I mean switching to POS and I suspect it's a big mistake as it throws off both the balance between active and passive for investors, where the rich's holdings will manipulate the rest.  I was very confused and sold some ETH recently because I feel insecure about its long term direction.  Looks like more time is needed to determine

Because most major trends in the crypto market have to rely on the Ethereum blockchain. From ICO to Defi, NFT, most of them are tokens and projects launched on this blockchain. With such a large number of projects, ETH will remain the top 1 altcoin for a long time.

I think Ethereum is indeed the king of altcoins. This is proven existence until now. To me ethereum is the best and trusted altcoin.

Yes, the fan community is already huge and that makes it very strong in the crypto market, shifting a very powerful coin like Ethereum is almost impossible, I also think Ethereum is the best altcoin right now and it will be even more great after the launch of ETH2.0

Everyone keeps talking about ETH 2.0 but no one seems to be sure what upgrades that the ETH 2.0 brings and most people here are simply speculating.
ETH 2.0 or not, i still think ETH is the king of all altcoins, this platform has served as the base infrastructure for the development of most altcoins today and even with the recent problems of slow transactions and high fees, ETH remains the most widely used Blockchain due to its versatility and security

The burden on the Ethereum network is getting heavier and heavier. The public chain of Ethereum is congested and competing for resources. I don't deny the value of Ethereum, but I currently appreciate the Polkadot created by the former Ethereum CTO. For poor places, there is a saying that sounds like a joke, if you want to be rich, you must first build roads. Polkadot has done a lot of work to make the logic smooth, and the projects and improvements can be implemented normally. I'm talking about the current parachain slot auction. I feel so wonderful. So Polkadot will surpass Ethereum.

It's like Ethereum is difficult to compete with by BNB because Ethereum is already very attached to investors' wallets so it's difficult to compete, let alone want to be the king of coins, under the price of BTC there is only Ethereum, nothing else is the most powerful after BTC there is only ETH, the price is also very far from BNB and the Ethereum network is very wide and fast, even though the gas is large, it becomes a topic of discussion for the media and Ethereum network users
