You can set your CPU's at "Settings" (next to "Mining") and use the dropdownlist by "Miner CPUs", click "Mining" again :)

How to change MinerThreads? Now is setting to 1 (very low) in the Noso Monitor

You can change the miner threads with CPUMINE x , activate mining again.

I should not use this thread to clarify nothing, but:

1.- Noso is not my project since the day i released the source code. It is an open project, not a private one. Im the developer of the idea, an admin of the discord channel, but not the owner of Noso (anyone can check on github that Noso software is unlicensed)
2.- Block 0 reserved 200 blocks (0,04% of total supply) for dev team to pay for those things: web page, promotion, bounties, etc. It is not something i scam. It is posted in so many places, not a secret.
3.- Contributors are people that follow the project since it was announced, or, in some way, helped it to growth. They are not "my buddies". We all are from so many different countries: China, Spain, Germany, Poland...
4.- Anyway, nobody scammed or lie to you, and you came here inmediately to post acusations about myself: It speaks clearly about the kind on person you are.
5.- At the end, i should say thank you: people reading this will know that scammers are not welcome in the project.

You were clearly trying to scam anyone trying to sell their coins. As you insisted that the seller, should send the coins to you before you paid anything. I insisted that we should use an escrow, you accepted, but never replied after that.
You tried to do the exact same thing with the dev, but this time "claiming" that you would make a website. As far is i know, you never provided any proof of progress, and the dev wrote the terms of the deal very clearly. The fact that you refuse to use escrow and always want the coins upfront, seems extremely sketchy.


If this does not look like you weren't trying to scam the dev and the community, then i do not know what does...

What is laughable is the fact that I was literally busy talking to the dev that very second (NOT DISAPPEARING) after he pitched escrow, and then a minute later, after discussing it with YOU (which is now clear), came back wishing me luck after I declined the offer. Can you tell your hashrate ?

Noso has the simplest mining software, everyone can easily create POOL。
Noso file sumary.psk contains the information of all the existing addresses in the protocol, including the available balance, as well as the current situation of the blockchain. It is updated with each new block that is created, therefore, it is enough to download this file to start operations in the network. This means that a new user does not need to download the whole blockchain to start using their portfolio, mine new blocks or verify new transactions in the network.

This means that Noso has very small blockchain data

Almost a month from genesis. Any plans on exchange?

Some small exchanges showed interest to list Noso, but with less than 1% of the total supply mined, it is to soon to consider it a priority or even necessary.
(Of course, any one is free to fill a request on any exchange.)
Many miners want Noso to be listed, but paying a fee (and who will pay that fee?) to be listed in a exchange seems not healty for the longterm project.

The exchanges that showed being intent on listing Noso are the smallest of all. No volume, no other pairs listed besides Noso and a bunch of utility tokens. And what is wrong with the name? Noso? Sounds like a drunk pregnancy paired with the usage of methanol led the individual spawned as a result of that pregnancy to play scrabble which effected the word later adopted as coins name.

Very cool project starting from scratch (unlike most copy/paste qt-wallet cryptocurrencies these days), devs clearly know what they are doing. Excited to see where this leads :)

I have released a stand-alone miner than can be used on Android phones. One user has successfully gotten it to run on his Pixel 5, and there are instructions in the README:

This new miner supports Windows, Linux and MacOS, as well as i386, x86_64, ARM and ARM64 processors. Confirmed to run on desktops, laptops, cloud VMs, Raspberry Pi 4, and at least one Android phone.

Hashing speeds are 3 to 5 times greater than from default GUI miner.

Do note that running mining software at 100% on all cores of your phone maybe not be good for the health of your phone. Use with caution.

I just looked at the official Github page and downloaded the source code. From what I understand, Nosocoin is written in Lazarus with FreePascal (in other words, free and cross-platform Delphi). It uses the Indy10 package as its network interface and many other hashing libraries.

I have never seen a coin implemented in this language before. It seems that the project developers have created the miner and full node software from scratch. I can advice you to compile ELF executables and provide DEB and RPM packages. People will be able to run the Nosocoin client without installing Wine on Linux.

I'm rather surprised that this is the first Object Pascal coin that crosses your path.

This is, actually, the second coin, that I know of, that is implemented in Object Pascal.

And both coins do not have a Qt wallet since the default widget set that Lazarus uses on Linux is GTK and Cocoa on macOS.

Noso is also progressing to a point where, the initial code base, is slowly being massaged to be cross-platform on Windows, Linux and macOS.

It's humble roots, derived from the hard work of the main dev, are being spread across the OS rift and will be fortified along the time.

To address this quote, Dev has stated he plans to add a built-in exchange sometime this year, but any interested exchanges are free to contact him and set up Noso on their exchange (just none have yet I think). A 3rd party exchange is not super high priority for the Dev as it is opensource so anyone is free to get it on an exchange. The discord has an OTC market right now, though.

Edit: Correction, Dev did receive offers from exchanges but they wanted payment first. They/Dev stated listing is not a goal of the project, it should be a consequence of the improvements, support, good work, transparency, and development.  :)

Development:
Inmediate impact of incoming protocol 2 upgrade will be that the project will be able to host a theorically infinite number of miners, making PoW a lot harder;, but no more people leaving the project due to the lack of free slots or the impossibility to build a competitive pool. Due to its design, will be possible to calculate the average network hashrate so miners can know their expected profit. And the subsequent activation of MNs will create a potential passive income for holders running one. For solving the accesibility issue, nosonode will be released as a console app.

Promotion:
If you are a holder, you should be also a promoter. The project need some publicity banners, the faucet is finally almost done, and a PTP (Pay To Promote, in Noso) system is in study. Project web page is almost reaching top 1M in alexa, and thats without any kind of publicity. We wonder that people register to Bitcointalk only to post a complaing about the project after one day, but users that has been in the project for months never posted.

Documentation:
As with next Nosolite release , all apps will have its own channel explaining details of all the features. Hopefully a wiki will be build soon with the comunity collaboration.

I think Noso is a good genuine project. Its made from scratch and the team including the dev and talented community members have put alot of work into making this project progress. The style of Noso appeals to me like a classic game of Tetris. It has the feel of something from the 1990s but with plenty of modern tech and coding involved. It's like bitcoin starting all over again, but lighter and more sophisticated. I can see Noso going on for a very long time

Noso is worth the wait. The change to POPW is a brilliant move and is one of a kind system. This makes mining fair for everyone! No need for huge CPU or GPU mining farms when even just an average android phone can participate and earn the same fair amount as anyone else. This project is something unique, I have never met such an interesting one.
I think if the developers make an effort, they will be able to make a decent project based on the NOSO blockchain.

Fair mining? How? I had 3 miners in 3 different outside IP mining for a week, plus my phone over cellular IP. 0 NOSO.
What are the official miners? Noso-go? Consominer? Things change so much that websites are not even updated with latest info.
The problem with 10 platforms with info is you need to keep them all updated.

Do we need to burn all cores to earn anything? Is higher hashrate better? No one really explained how proof of participation really works. Everyone gets a trophy?

You should try access discord server for online support from comunity. Webpages are offered for FREE from comunitty members, and they update it when they have time. We always have a lot of active members in discord from all over the world to gladly help you. (also, for free, only to promote the project)

What does a mobile run at?

A current cell phone can perform close to 300Khs, A mediocre i7 with fewer cores than you mention gets the maximum reward

WARNING! NOSO contains code so that the developers are able to freeze addresses and thus exclude users from having access to their funds. Several users have lost their funds because the developers don't like GPU mining regardless of their code enabling GPU mining.

Users who criticize the development team's authoritarianism will be locked out and banned from the community's social media.

You don't say the full story . Devs asked those that developed the gpu miner to share the code with the community otherwise their funds will be frozen . These guys acted for their own interest and it was an unanimous decision by the GVT holders to freeze their accounts . GVT is not a decision made by the devs only ( some of them have GVT rights ) but also members of the community .
Anyway , the model that included PoW is no longer present and it has changed to PoP . Probably you are one of the gpu miners that can't stand that his dishonest act against the project didn't produce any value , on the contrary you are in loss . Try to act honest next time , it pays better .

Naturally, miners act in their own interest. They mine to earn the most coins possible.

If the team of developers want to prevent GPU mining then they must prevent it by developing a code that prevents GPU mining. Instead, the developers have implemented an option to freeze addresses so that users can no longer control their funds. In doing so, the developers bypass all normal legal procedures for handling financial disputes.

Regardless of the management team's reasons, it is a fact that the users cannot trust the Noso project when funds can be frozen according to the managers' arbitrary decisions.

That's why you cannot trust 99.99% of altcoins.

Devs warned that there will be consequences , the GPU miners decided to ignore them . As i said being dishonest doesn't pay as much as being honest . Miners could give the code and keep their stash and keep earning . They became greedy and lost everything . In fact , they are so dumb that didn't even ask the community to provide them a percentage of each miner rewards that could use their code , i think that no one would disagree at that time ( take a look at how other cpu and gpu miners had a dev fee ) . They chose a way that left them with their d**ks in hand , i guess that's better for them than to act logically by using their brains . That's what usually happens when you think with the wrong head .

As you said miners act at their own interest . So do devs , but not for their personal interest , for the longevity of the project . Not all people act like you did . They are not getting paid and they commit their time to create something useful . I've seen for years scums that provide nothing to a project and just want to earn everything . Devs here want to provide to others , you are just looking to steal from others .  

As for the part that users don't trust noso , take a look at how many people are mining right now , there's been an increase of at least 5X. Noso is steadily increasing it's base , not everyone believes in the far west world you want to live in . Participants know that if they act honest they have no problem . It's a project that tries to have one of the fairest distributions , and so far i think they have achieved it . So , you can follow their way or hit the highway .

Hello mates, as a Noso Governor, official pool owner and Seed node, all GPU era was something that we need to manage, as a there was someone minning getting 90% of noso every block ( 10 min ), and it was announced that is not allowed, as an open source project, we want to everyone join noso fairly, and anything that goes against that is not allowed, they had the option to send GPU miner to all community and go on, but they denied. So, there was a discussion in Governor's group about what to do, and using a Poll system all governors ( not only developers ) decided to freeze coins as a first step just to have time to talk about that, and implement a secure option to avoid that. And then PopW showed up, now noso is 100% GPU/ASIC or anything resistant, so it helped to evolve noso.

At this point, those freezed coins can be requested by owners, but we check if those coins were mined using GPU. And surprise, no one requested ... those coins will be freezed  until governors vote what to do.

Only 46 Addresses were blocked, we have thousands running ok and using fair mining.

Now we have more miners, more spread and fair.

We have a total of 17604 POPW workers online, and going up. My pool is managing 4368 miners just now and increasing.

Project is going on, we made first noso dev meeting online last 25th feb, and we will continue to make these meetings in a monthly manner, so just check www.nosocoin.com (http://www.nosocoin.com) website, as we are on time completing all Roadmap Q, and in a few weeks we will have our Android Wallet/Earner available !, that will be a huge step for Noso, as all android devices will be able to earn noso just installing the wallet and using a few CPU resources and bandwidth, just install and earn !, we expect a huge increase.

Blocks are no longer earnable for very extended block time. Can be linked to their overall incompatibility with GPU as a thing. I entrusted the technical work to two scoundrel shits from the community due to my being busy with putting together a pool for this blunt ass coin. They botched the work. Look what they did, wrecked the algo and now they say GPU era is coming to a standstill.

In other words GPU-mining is banned and the governors freeze the GPU-miners assets but it is allowed to set up a big farm of mobile devices. This is strange rules.

You can setup a big farm of mobile devices, you can invest on that if every mobile phone has a different public IP and is a "real" mobile phone. What we worked was to stop a single computer with a powerful GPU getting thousands of shares and "pretending" to be 200 devices. That's not fair. But, you can buy 200 mobile phones, each one with his public IP ,that will work and it's a "fair" method to get noso, the anwer is Yes you can , but....., we are currently working on a new feature, we will check geographic distribution and dissemination, and this will benefit to devices running on a low density situation. For example, if you have a mobile phone on a low population city where there are only 100 mobiles "minning" then you noso reward will be higher that is you are on a high density city with 1000 mobiles phones mining noso. Our objective is to benefit a proper distribution/dissemination. This will help to avoid big farms, you will continue to get some noso, but will allow also someone with a single mobile phone minning on a low population city. That's something that will make big mobile farms on a specific location not worth.

This is something we are working and writing now, will be talked in the next dev meeting.

I was, many moons ago, part of the Noso team.
I was a developer and I did a bunch of cross language libs(Pascal, C#, Python and PHP) to access the TCP/IP Protocol and the raw data of the block files and I coded the first (Edit)explorer in CakePHP.
The wallet code and all the surrounding tool's code is so bad that I never touched any of it. I couldn't follow the immense qty of functions/procedures spread over a myriad of source files(No OOP at all). It was just a very hard spaghetti to follow.
I pushed really hard to try and get the only Dev to evolve on his not so good coding skills and to bring other programming languages under the Noso umbrella.
For that and for telling some harsh truths to power I was rewarded with a ban from the Discord server(I got really irate many months before that and had already left the GitHub Org).

And the truths are quite blaring in the face of a self named cryptocoin:

• Noso is centralised: Without the seed nodes, and when the seed nodes go bust, the whole network ceases to work
• Noso is not verifiable: Every transaction should have the public key present in order to validate the signature. For some obscure reason, when building the block, that key is replaced with the Sender's address
• Noso uses MD5 as the hashing algorithm: The fact that it's so easy to create collisions by simply changing one to three bytes on the block file is very scary
• Noso uses Pascal Short Strings: If you're a programmer and understand that between length and capacity, there is the space for memory garbage to be stored in the block files, this makes what was said above, about MD5 even more plausible
• Noso has a government: In order to participate on this government you must pay to acquire one or more GVT tokens. Paid democracy... Is that still democracy?
• Noso software executes orders from centralised person in power: The software has code paths that will restart your wallet after triggering an upgrade on itself. But if it can do this, what else could the only dev code in to do with your coins?
• Noso freezes assets: Some assets have been frozen because they are perceived to be mined via GPU. The responsibility of a mining algorithm to be GPU/ASIC resistant lays squarely on the shoulders of the dev/dev team. Blaming the miners for pushing the boundaries is like a very bad parent blaming it's own child for the mistakes he does!!

And these are the few things that I so hardly fought to make the only dev of this coin to realise he should correct. But alas, here we are and now, Noso is even listed... OMFG, how did this happen?!?!?

The bullet points above are the most blatant issues with this coin. I could go on forever about the fact that the code is complete spaghetti. That said spaghetti is now so entangled that even the only dev is now suffering the pain and has not released any new version in quite a while. And the 1 or 2 times he did attempt at testing new code changes present on the GitHub repo, the main net has always collapsed.

So, yeah, this is a cryptocoin that disrespects the ethos(still centralised) and even the math, the cryptology math(it is not verifiable).

You can try and gaslight everyone else with any rhetoric about this and that, but the buck stops at the code itself, and me, as an Object Pascal programmer of more than 15 years experience, I'll say that the code is rotten to the core.

But hey, continue trading this "wonderful" coin that is... How did you put it?

I'm in this project few months after first block. I remember when Gus (gcarreno) showed up od Discord. He was working day & night, on this project, among other devs. There was always problem in comms, between devs, and thats the truth. But project never stopped, not for a minute. He wasn't the first, nor the last, to left the project. I don't understand much, that tech chit-chat, but i have high hopes in this project. AFAIK/ATTOW, this is the only coin with (soon to be implemented) built-in exchange. No KYC, no data collection. That is the point. Let’s see what the future holds.

I've been banned for the longest, mainly because I've been trying to enlighten the current community of Noso that it's now just a crapshoot(as in comparable to Poker) of a coin.
And, once upon many Moons ago, I was part of that clique :(

Main reasons the coin is not really a cryptocoin is the fact that it's still centralised via the complete reliance on seed nodes and the fact that the transactions do not store the public key necessary to verify them.

To me, these 2 problematic things completely deny what a cryptocoin should be, wouldn't you agree?

I think there is reason to warn against the Noso project. Unlike other crypto projects, there are no peer to peer or democracy principles in this project.

A small, completely anonymous clique of about 8-10 people manage everything both when it comes to the development of software and the way the community is managed. Important decisions are never discussed within the community in the social medias. The community is only informed when the decisions have been made and cannot be changed. People who disagree or criticize the decisions are banned from the social medias without warning and without explanation.

This anonymous clique has unilaterally made important decisions that time and again change the conditions of the participants. Let me give a few examples.
- GPU mining was banned and accounts with about 250,000 Noso (with a current market price of about 80,000 US$) were frozen, depriving the holders of their funds.
- PoW has been gradually changed to PoS through several steps. At the same time, a development fund has been introduced, which receives 10% of block rewards and transaction fees.
- The minimum fee for transaction has been increased 100,000 times.
- Although the clique repeatedly claims that they work without payment, the lead developer has just been paid 45,000 Noso (at a market price of US$15,000-20,000) from the development fund.

Investors should therefore think carefully before investing in Noso coins. All applicable rules and conditions may be changed without notice at the discretion of the anonymous clique.

I don't think "scam" is the right term. The Noso-project is led authoritarian and centralized. The code includes, for example, the option for the management to freeze the funds in any account. This means that the management of the Noso project has assumed power and authority that can otherwise only be exercised by the police and the courts, so that the account holders are deprived of all normal legal guarantees for a fair trial and protection against arbitrary confiscation etc.

The Noso project is led by holders of so-called Governance Tokens. These GVT tokens can be purchased for around US$400 and a person can have more than one GVT. There are currently 66 GVTs sold. Fewer than 10 people hold enough tokens to have the majority on votes on important issues.

Coming here to post a warning against the project just for being banned from discord is quite absurd and childish, considering that the ban was for not following the rules of the server.

On the other hand, accusing of fraud without providing evidence certainly reaches another level of insanity and hatred. Who has been scammed? OTC transactions have been made on the server with a value of +$250,000 without a complaint or claim. Investors are satisfied with the progress of the project, while the only complaints and hatred comes from those who try to exploit the project solely for their own benefit.

End of cycle project? More developers recently joined and the protocol is being translated into more programming languages, self-funded monetization has been reached (which allows even haters to make a profit) and the projection does not stop increasing without investing a single penny in promotion. .

The easy way to recognize haters from genuinely objective critics is to look at their opinions:
- Is the person involved in the development? Is it a reliable opinion?
- Are reasonable proposals for improvement made?
- Are the improvements recognized or is it only criticized?

While the haters that we have here (one created the account to come to spread hate only, while the other made his first post about the project after being banned for not following the rules of the discord server) they have nothing else to do , the people in the project don't have the time to respond to this nonsense.

Getting into discussions and disqualifications with haters and FUDers is far from the goal of this thread, but already doing it on a personal level is unacceptable and I am personally appalled by the lack of moderation on this forum. When the harassment against the project becomes harassment on a personal level, it is clear that the limits are clearly exceeded and it is time to say "enough".

And BTW, Sajed, aren't you a person that is studying for a profession that involves using computers?
Can you not learn how to properly use the bloody quoting system?!
