I was in the garden this evening and I was think on my bet that I placed on this evening game, then something came into my head like...are you going to gamble even when you are old, or you will quit gambling at a certain age.

There are so many of us that are responsible gamblers and we only gamble to entertain ourselves not for making profit. Since gambling is done for fun, it becomes part of us, this is because we enjoy the fun, and some persons uses it to relieve them after a long day stress at work. We always assign some portion of our income for our gambling activities because it has become a habit in us. I know that some of us hasn't thought of quitting gambling because we are responsible gamblers.

My question is this, will you continue to gamble till old age, or you have planned to stop gambling at a certain age?
I am not referring to addicted gamblers that will learn a hard lesson before the quit, but only responsible gamblers that are taking all prevention measures to addiction.

I will answer first.
I will love to quit gambling when I am 42yrs because I don't want to give gambling much time and I will prefer to look for an alternative means to have fun.

Actually, I don't plan to gamble at all, if I feel I want to then I will whether it's 30 or 60 as far as I can afford to gamble. I have no idea how my old age will be, and thinking about gambling at that time wasn't even in my teeny-tiny thoughts.

Don't bother yourself with such deep thoughts now which you can figure it out at that time depending on how you want it to be. :D

If you play for fun or as a hobby I don't think there is an age at which you should stop.
I really don't think it makes sense.
Then if you see stopping playing as retiring and therefore a way to have a lot of free time... that's a whole other matter.
Personally I bet for some periods but in some others (in some cases even years) not, I have absolutely no interest...

It’s not uncommon to have aged persons gamble, sometimes amongst themselves.

It’s more of how old you are at a time and if your still sound in mind and body despite your age. If you feel the need and your still capable of coming up with the predictions on games of interest, then you could as well keep up the gambling.

I still see myself trying out some bets if I could still come up with my own predictions and have the funds for it. Perhaps gamble with some friends for meetups while watching some games but, I wouldn’t base my bets on a prediction that isn’t of my origins that’s where I can call it off on gambling.

This would actually depend yet we know that there are oldies who are still really loving on playing gambling despite of their age and doesnt mind whether they would really be that still pending and do really engage on such

activity. Well, its our money that would really be used and not on other people on which there's no way that people could stop us out on what we are tending to do as long we dont really wreck ourselves.
Gambling doesnt really limit out people whether they would really be that old or young because we are really that free on what we do tend to do so because it is really just that for entertainment
in the first place. The only thing on here is that we should  really be still that responsible on whatever things which are really that our priorities but since we are old then
its not really that something that we do have in mind and we do usually be thinking about having some relaxation considering that we are already that bit old.

I will quite gambling when I do not see it as fun again. If I do not derive any fun from gambling, then why I mine gambling. This is not by age or anything than the fun that I am having when I am gambling.

If I have grown up, maybe I will quit gambling but I do not think so, especially if I still have the fun when I am doing it.

Many gamblers do not know when they will stop gambling, they just have the believe that something will someday make them stop, but sometimes they never stop. If you gamble for long, it becomes more difficult to stop especially as you age, that is the same with any other habit that you start from a young age. If you have not accepted yourself as a gambler and you will not like to be a gambler in your old age, it is better you stop now while you still can before it becomes more difficult.

When we are young we think that everything in this life is simple. After a while, we realize we were wrong. That's what you think now, but in reality, the need for dopamine isn't going to go away and you need something to fulfill it. Let's see what you say when you're 45. I haven't even thought about quitting gambling as it brings me more positive emotions than negative. I will probably quit gambling if I realize that it has become a problem for me.

If I had no interest in gambling and considered that gambling was part of my personal enjoyment then I would never have decided to gamble. Here I don't know when I will die, maybe it could be tomorrow or the day after that I will leave this mortal world and I don't know whether I will be given the opportunity to live until I'm old, but I always pray that I can live until I'm old and until I can really improve myself and leave gambling completely. I will most likely still be gambling occasionally, at least till something comes up. Not that i even need to but its just sometimes fun to punt a few hundred and see what happens. Half of the fun is probably the social aspect of it, talking to the people in the casino chatroom, putting up some rains for the chattors. If online crypto casinos dissapeared and only offline ones or fiat only were left, i would never gamble again.

I think I will end up gambling more when I get older.  As ypu have less and less financial liabilities more free money opens up and time.  As you get older ypu have more and more free time on your hands.  It is a good form of "competition" as long as you play within your means.

You'll never know. There will be circumstances that you'll find an urge to gamble especially when you see or know someone close to you gambling as well even at an old age. I don't think there's some certainty that you'll gonna quit gambling when you're getting old, hence, the fact that most gamblers are already not that young too.

I don't think this is something that you can plan, we are emotionally attached to gambling at some point, and if we treat gambling as an entertainment portal it's hard to part ways on something that will give you happiness, your gambling days will be over just when you least it like you have something important to do or you find something that will replace gambling as a form of entertainment, there's really no specific time really.
If you are in full control of your gambling you can end it anytime, it's hard to plan something when it comes to gambling, some quit for a time being and some permanently quit unexpectedly.

You don't say that because how old you are right now? You'll never know if that's going to be followed when you're on that age. But if you're true to yourself and you are planning to quit by that age, fine.

But as for me, just like what I have said. I can't say if I'll do the same as you or not by the time when I get older.

Gambling is a form of entertainment, when boredom strikes then all you gotta do is find anything to play with. I'm not sure until when I will gamble, or until what age I will gamble as long as I do it on my free time or killing my time as I entertain myself I would do it. In my country, there's nothing that much an elder person would do aside from taking care of their youngins or grandchild, their main thing to do is to play with other old people, I guess that's their way of feeding their inner younger self as an employee back then where they can't do much of their time and working for themselves. You can gamble as long as your happy with it, not sacrificing so much from yourself. The question would be, where will you be getting your money to gamble when you get old?

Where an age to stop gambling should become a concern is when the individual is playing gambling for making money but when it's some mainly for fun to entertain oneself as an activity I don't think there's an age to watch out for in stopping it. Playing gambling for fun at an old age can be a source of happiness as a hobby  but when playing for sake of making money each loss can bring you more grieve and dragging you closer to your grave.  I wish I know what the future will  hold for me at +70 year but if am still to gamble at that age it wouldn't be for money but for entertainment seeking.

It depends. I mean, if my passion for other stuff dies out, who knows? Gambling is much more accessible now compared to the past after all so even in old age, one can easily get access to casinos that you can play in. There also aren't any restrictions, plus if you manage to get the idea of gambling in your head when your old, I reckon you have a lot of money for your retirement fund. If not, well, I don't think I ever will, I'd just probably plant a garden or something realistically. The idea is basically out there, just depends on whether I'd grab it though.

Kinda curious, where did 42 come out? Is there a meaningful reason or did you just throw out a relatively middle-aged number there?

A time will come when the passion and urge to gamble will reduce spontaneously... The more you try to gamble, the less successful you become.. you'd have no choice but to quit permanently.

I will stop gambling if I get bored with the game. But if we talk about age, maybe I will stop at 40 years old. In my opinion, the older we get, the more needs we have, such as our children's school fees or our children's wedding expenses. So maybe when we are old we will stop gambling because there are too many thoughts and needs, maybe it could also mean we don't have time to gamble.

If it is about knowing when exactly I am stopping gambling, that's what I can't foresee now. The only time I know that I am about to stop gambling is when I know that I am not that vibrant in analyzing games the way I did before. Once I notice such changes have been made in my body, I will peacefully stop gambling without minding the time it was(old or young age).
My life principle is never to stay put in something that I know that I can't keep on with, no matter how fun it is.

I've actually never planned to stop gambling, because basically I gamble to have fun with my friends and now we rarely gamble, you can count them on your fingers in one month. Currently I only engage in gambling activities when I gather with my friends to play cards with small bets and currently I almost rarely gamble at casinos.
Because for some reason the money that I usually set aside for gambling and having fun is always used for other needs. I don't know, maybe as time goes by, maybe I will stop myself because many of my friends have stopped gambling.

As they get older, many people don't know what the future will hold, whether there will be wealth or poverty. Gamble always, keeps you young imo.  If you arent playing something your brain will idle and fall off your head quite possibly.    People always confuse the game with throwing high stake money at the game to win, Im not suggesting you gamble food money but play for sure.   A ton of people play some kind of social gambling just for company and something to win or lose, never gamble outside of your leisure budget for that week and do actually always keep a budget so its fun not a pain when you lose money you needed.   Age doesnt limit fun imo.
   Ive seen retired people gamble not just for themselves but host others, stream games even anything at all is your choice when you got more free time in old age.   Its a luxury people should take advantage of :)

when it is said: "playing for fun" we are assuming that this person has many other things they do for fun in life and that gaming is one of those things, in other words, this person has a job that takes up most of their time of the day, when he comes back from work he watches TV, then talks to his family and then sleeps, when the weekend arrives, he goes out to the beach with his family and friends, then he goes out shopping, then he spends some time talking to friends, other people drink beer somewhere. I haven't thought that far, but I guess when I reach a certain age, I can see myself dropping it since my priorities won't stay the same, and there are different sources of entertainment that I can use to replace gambling. I sometimes use these other sources to keep myself away whenever i'm having a bad day at gambling. Then again, I could be wrong because i'm mostly gambling for the fun of it and it could last for a long time if this level of fun remains the same until I get old.

If I still have the financial capacity to do so, then I probably would but if not, I’d be fine making imaginary bets in sportsbetting while watching the game itself. For sure every gambler would want to continue gambling as much as they can but it would be better to mind as well the circumstances of doing so. Gambling isn’t choosing any age except for minors. Once we get old, we’d be more likely bored of things and gambling could be a good leisure by that time especially if you will still have the financial freedom at that age. If I put an age limit to my gambling it means that I am considering myself as a gambling addict. Maybe someday, gambling may no longer give me the thrills as it right now and I may find some other thing else that could replace it - fishing, hunting, or archery. For now, we continue to enjoy our responsible gambling knowing that someday we may or may not continue with it. So we live in the moment and make the best out of it.

I never think about this. I assume I can gamble as long as I have safe money for gambling. I will stop when I've no more money allocated for gambling. Since gambling is mostly just for fun, we can gamble at any age. We probably just adjust the time to spend for gambling. When we have more activities in real life, we may stop gambling temporarily or just gamble in a short time.

Don’t you think old age is when you are even suppose to enjoy gambling? When you free, you have  nothing to do again and you are always bored at home, you can just gamble, relax, and have fun. I am not saying you should gamble to make money the same way lots of people are doing now, if you are gambling because of money, then you are wrong, because the tension that you will be giving yourself will be affecting your health conditions, and as you are old, you should give yourself unnecessary tension, just gamble for relaxation alone.

Definitely, I will also have alternative means of having fun, but sometimes I will get tired of other alternatives, and I will just relax and enjoy my gambling. It’s a choice. I am sure you have your own personal reason why you will prefer to stop gambling at the age of 45, but I think I will enjoy gambling. I don’t think I have a specific period during which I will stop.

I may excuse myself from time to time due to busyness but I don't really see myself from completely quitting some forms of gambling. You tend to physically interact more with people as you get older and that can be through socializing that may include drinking or gambling. It doesn't have to be in clubs or casinos but in simple social gatherings.

My advice to everyone, particular with old people who were not financially able to sustain with this kind of entertainment and luck seeking activity. They shouldn't waste their time and effort, because it has nothing to do good unless they're fortunate to have a good life with retirement benefits. Much better live a simple life and quit gambling addiction, reaching at older age and yet you still gamble for lucking winning from gambling; I guess that's worst enough to say you've been an addict for several years.

I have seen many old men and women who are spending much of their time playing gambling games. They don't have much to do. They also don't have many responsibilities anymore. And since their bodies are not anymore the strong ones like when they were young, they just spend time doing easy things for fun. Gambling is one that I observe. Of course aside from reading, tending to their plants, doing crochet, etc.

I cannot speak what particular age I would stop gambling. I don't even know if I'm going to stop at all. Perhaps I will continue until I'm old. But it's going to be moderate, as I always do.

Might be vice versa for me. When kids grow old, they will leave you. Since you will be alone with your wife then, there's really nothing much to do and I love sports too much especially basketball so the addition of putting a bet for my preferred team to win will add more flavor to watching the game. I don't think I will stop gambling even in old age. I might stop playing casino games on gambling sites because we are just always losers on that type of game but not in sports betting.
I want to keep myself updated with the NBA and adding spice to that is gambling so that I will still have the urge to look at the roster updates, trades, injuries, and everything that will happen until my last breath. There are some people who have a lot of income and it will be right if they gamble. There are some people who have very little income and gambling will not be right. Gambling requires a lot of money and time. But not everyone has it. Those who gamble  After getting addicted, they never have peace in their lives. LMAO. I'm getting older and older, and I'm still gambling, but I've never been very heavy at it and even less so now. I haven't gambled for a couple of months. I know what it is, you can entertain yourself and make some extra money but you have a negative net loss in the long run. You can't fight against that. If you think about the fact that poor neighbourhoods are where most lotteries are sold and where most bookmakers are, you'll realise that it's not a good way to spend your money, and that's something that rich people know. That said, buying the lottery once in a while or going to the casino once in a while is not bad, but be aware of the underlying reality.

Gambling definitely leads to addiction; being addicted in one's late 40s is when one realizes the difficult challenges he will face because he will be keen on selling valuable properties to pay off pending debts while also using some part to gamble; at that age, quitting gambling will be extremely difficult. This is the moment To generate lifetime decisions; betting until old age is silly; I can't conceive how my children will look at me; they engage in what their parents do. There's nothing inherently wrong with gambling in old age. The only problem that arises is when someone becomes addicted and can't control their gambling habits. Gambling is meant to be a form of entertainment.

It is difficult to determine whether to stop at a young age or at an old age. because basically, many people actually gamble until old age. Some because of addiction and some for entertainment purpose that they really need it. Two things that have no time limit, unless he has a good decision to end. There are also those who stop gambling when they are young, and when they are old they gamble again. Who knows.

There is something you must know about gambling at the old age, gambling at the age increases your blood pressure alternatively it gives you (HBP) and it makes you lose focused. I was in a discussion with someone on Saturday last week although it happens that the discussion then raise up about how his father died on watching match. Actually the late father was a footballer and goal keeper for that matter, when his favorite team were playing I believe he place a bet on them when it happens that the opposite team won the match immediately the old man slump in his living room and they didn't noticed it for some hours when they draw their attention to him and investigation was made, they said he place a bet at the next betting shop across his house.

Actually, this is a very bad experience and i won't encourage anyone to gamble at age 50 and above again, they should reduce their attention in watching Football, Wrestling or another movies that could increased their blood pressure. So for me I won't gamble when I am close to 50 years.

I looking on gambling at old age on a different angle. I wont be gambling because my pension is low and I want to get some extra money. I think I would gamble to make my brain work, to get my brain gears spinning. Why old people read a lot, solve crosswords, puzzles, sudoku? Because they have free time, lonely or bored? I think they do it to support brain in more or less functional condition. Not to have that senility as early as possible. I think I would use gamble to make my brain work. All that planning, math, probability gonna help me. I hope :D

I have never really given much to this, and I don't think an addiction knows age or race nor gender. If one is an addicted gambler and does so passionately, there are high chances it is till old age because it might just be the only sport interesting enough to get them out of the house, mostly for those who love casino houses.

For me, I think I would gamble more in my oldies because then I would have the money enough to make such expenses, would not be too responsible to a grown family and I would have gathered enough knowledge of playing.

personally, I just enjoy what I want to do in my old age. If I dont have another way to spend my old age, maybe gambling occasionally is no problem. I m a typical person who does not want to plan too much because plans usually always fail, so I can do what I want in my old age, even if I have to spend money gambling, maybe its destined. but if I had another way to enjoy my old age maybe I would leave gambling and prefer to keep my mind healthy and avoid gambling.

Gambling, when done responsibly, can indeed be a harmless pastime. You hit the nail on the head when you say many of us do it for the sheer fun of it. But here's the thing: As we age, our tastes, interests, and priorities change. Remember that toy you were obsessed with as a kid? Do you still play with it? Probably not.

If I save every penny I'd potentially lose in gambling from now till Im 60, could I maybe buy a private island? (Or at least a fancy coffee machine, haha!). So, for me, I reckon I'll phase out of gambling by the time Im 50. Not because Im losing interest, but just because there might be new fun waiting to be discovered

I guess some of us will gamble even more in the future... with more free time we will be like those ancients in Vegas who spin slots all day, we will just do that from our personal computers in our homes. If we become wiser we will probably play with lower bets, without much pushing... in old age, it's not smart to push a lot and get too excited I guess, weak hearts will not be able to handle buying bonuses with all-ins. :)

Hopefully when I retire, I wouldn't be worried about money because I am still going to be gambling as long as I can think straight, I will gamble no matter my age, I mean all old people in my country don't have a lot of things to do so I am pretty sure that I'm going to see myself just gambling at an old age to pass the time.

As a 26 years old individual who has recovered from gambling addiction in the last three years, I would like to state that I haven't had any thoughts of gambling my entire life. I gamble very rarely, especially since I have managed to get rid of the addiction in the last three years and only gamble for entertainment. Since I play very rarely I don't feel the need to gamble constantly and since I gamble for fun rather than with the ambition of making money I don't lose all my money by getting caught up in games. I don't think that I will continue to gamble for entertainment for a long time without losing much money but I also don't think that I will continue this throughout my life.

I would also like to point out that although I can control myself and my emotions, I will not gamble very often in the coming years in order not to become addicted to gambling again but I will continue to play for fun a few times a year as I have done for the last three years. Considering that casinos offer free food and beverage service especially in my country, it is definitely a great advantage for me to have fun by gambling on certain days and to consume unlimited food and beverages during this process.

When we're already on that age where things are needed to be taken easier and we don't have much to do. With all the stuff that we're able to save and establish, there's got to be a lot of money that's gonna be on our stack.

What we can do is to just spend some from that retirement and pension fund just to have fun. It's gonna be less stress because you're not going to chase the losses unlike when you're younger.

So basically, many might just settle and forget about gambling when they don't have much and they still are working with their jobs. But those tha are already retired, they're likely just to gamble whenever they want to.

Don't be surprised that you will still have to discover that at that 42 years old, you can't afford to stop gambling by then, if we look at the current age you are now to when you will get to your stop limit age proposed, the distance may not be that much, so i will want to recommend that we shouldn't propose what we may not be able to cope with later in life, it's not easy to quit gambling except we voluntarily determined to stop when we are left without a choice.

Time will tell for me. As much as we’ve seen old guys still gamble at the casino or even involved in some private mahjong, poker or card games with real money to bet, there’s no doubt that we will be doing the same as well once we get old.

But of course, we will always remember about setting our limits in betting the funds that we have to play the game and not going all-in. Having a mindset of gambling an extra money that we can afford to lose is something that we can manage on.

We always have to be staying cautious about winning streaks that makes us prone to play even more. No matter how young or old we are to gamble, it’s always about controlling our emotions when experiencing winning streaks in gambling.

Quitting gambling is not easy. Even if you have taken a break in gambling as years goes by, there come a time that when you get old and wants something fun, you might end up coming back to gamble.

Just like my late grandmother that when she retired from her government office work, her only fun thing to do was to gamble.

People who live barely enough when they first start gambling will find it difficult to stay away from it, they hope that like others, when they get big money from gambling, this will attract the attention of various people. I have experienced something similar in the past when hopes were high like the others but on the contrary, it was a good experience to learn from. Gambling is most interesting at old age I think or believe, imagine when you are done with all the hustling and bustling for money and better life, imagine when all your children have graduated from school and are all doing well both business and work, the girls are all married to their wealthy husband's and doing really well, and you as parents have no worries any more other than just live and have fun for it is now time to sit and eat the fruit of all you have laboured for' all through your youthful age.

Considering the above, I personally will still gamble even in old age, as long as it doesn't have to do with me chasing profit, but just to have fun and while away time.

I doubt I will gamble in old age.  A big part of gambling is the fun for me and for that I have to watch the games and know the players.  I just don't see myself caring if history is any guide.  I used to watch all the sports but over the years things like strikes have led me to have less of an interest.  I barely ever see a football or baseball game these days.  I imagine someday I will also lose interest in following basketball or replace it with a different hobby that will make it so gambling for me would be less entertaining and thus I likely wouldn't participate.  Who knows though, maybe gambling will take over and we'll all be doing it everyday in the future.

I would assume that you could just make sure that you are gambling in a limited manner and that could go on for a long time. I can give you myself as an example and I can tell you that I have been gambling for a while now, it has been a few years that I have been limiting and if I can keep doing this for years then I will be able to keep gambling until I am old.

Man, I'm nearing the end of my 30s and I don't feel old at all. I know a lot of people in their 40s who do extreme sports, have much younger girlfriends, ride motorcycles, race cars...

40 was an old age in the middle ages when a knight would be unfit to do battle at the age of 40 because he's considered too old, but now, people have babies at the age of 50. Look at Hollywood actors and how they look in their 50s! 40 is not old. Nowadays you're old when you're 70, unless in your country people die at the age of 60, then you should be worried. Where I'm at, people usually die when they're over 80. I've recently talked to a neighbor who's 87 and she still looks healthy and walks by herself.

I can't answer that for sure, it could be that I will stop gambling in the near future. Or, I keep gambling until I'm over 50 or older. I really can't answer that at the moment, because the fact is that even now I still like betting. I definitely have plans to stop gambling but I can’t pinpoint as to what certain age I’m gonna stop. Hmm I don't know about gambling in the old age but over here in my place I have seen alot of old guys that actually don't have anything doing again and they actually use gambling as an escape route to their problems. It never crossed my mind, at what age should i stop gambling because i feel that gambling does not interfere with my life at all, i have been gambling for almost half my life so it is no longer possible to stop, all this time my money has come and gone, It's not a problem at all as long as i'm entertained.  i noticed that no intelligent gambler and responsible gambler went bankrupt ^{(they will not sell their valuables or make loans to use as gambling capital)}, only gambling addicts and greedy gamblers went bankrupt.

I'll probably stop once I'm no longer feeling the thrill of gambling. The answer to the question though is who knows??  I remember being a kid and playing with my toys and thinking to myself "I love playing with toys, I will always do so even when I grow up" but of course I phased out of it.  This is also sort of like the question I've always asked, will I keep listening to hip hop when I'm older.  Well I'm nearly 40 and love it just as much as I did when I was 15.  Just like with listening to hip hop, I can't see myself stopping gambling because I'm getting older.  And man, 42 is not old! lol

The trouble with old age is that your income will be limited. Since you are not going to be working, or at least most people hope that they won't be working and just hoping that they would end up with something like a special case, I am guessing that there is going to be limited amount of income. This doesn't mean it will be zero, if you invested smartly you would have some money to retire, some retire at 45, some retire at 75, whatever age you retire, since you are not actively going to work, there is no way that you could make it back.

So, it would be smart not to keep gambling at old age, or even if you do end up doing it, just like how old people play bingo or something, doing a thing like that would make more sense. This should be the most important difference because it would be a small amount that wouldn't hurt your budget. If you keep gambling the same way as you did when you were young, that money gone would be a dangerous thing for your future.

Gambling is my passion but I don’t see myself growing old with it. There’s definitely a time that I have to stop gambling and just focus on my family or on my retirement investment for good. At old age, we cannot be stressed anymore due to a weaker body or it might kill us earlier. :D I guess I will join you on that decision, I will also stop at some point but I still don't see it right now. Perhaps, when I see my grandkids, that's when I can tell that gambling should be enough and just watch the sports that I love. Because in my last posts here I think I shared that I won't be stopping because I do love sports like basketball and putting in a bet makes the game more thrilling. Maybe there will also be a point in my life that the thrill of the game will be gone and I will just watch it like a normal game.
But right now, this is a decision that is difficult to make because we cannot see the future. My Grandpa still made bets on the national lottery at 82 years old and I am the one who is taking his list to the lottery outlet. We cannot tell how we will end up, especially with gambling sites access got a whole lot easier.

Gambling till you get old is somehow not a good thing for yourself, family or relatives. Getting old means you don't have that much time so why not spend it with your loved ones instead of gambling. Maybe you gamble with your friends but it would be better to enjoy life with the family, laugh together, eat together, literally give all your time for them as you grow older.
So, I will definitely stop gambling by the time I grow older. Even if its fun and entertaining, even if I have much money by that time, I wouldn't care anymore as long as I enjoy my time with my family. Much enjoyable than gambling.

I do not really see anything wrong with gambling at old age. If you do that responsibly and for fun without being addicted to the point of becoming a headache to your family then its okay as long as you are okay with it.To some point you should know when to call it a quit because at some stage at ones old age, you would not be able to engage in some kind of activities so it is better you start early enough to limit your gambling life style so as to enable do away with it at old age.

Old people that gambling during their young age usually spend their free time most on gambling. In our local bingo shop, most of the players is old people that regularly playing since most of them is already living on their own since their children already have their own family. Old people is actually the one that is not prone to addiction since they are not aggressive anymore on achieving huge win.

See by then I figured I'd have a future that's set for me, money so I don't have to worry about retirement til I die, and possibly a family that I am proud of supporting me emotionally. At old age gambling is done for fun because you are using it to relieve yourself bring back old memories. This is what I was thinking, especially if there are still offline casinos in our city. We will invite old friends to gather and play gambling together. That of course, is to bring back old memories with them.

TBH, I might still gamble in my old age but I did not plan it that way or rather look at the conditions and situations in my old age and I also saved but not for old age but to build a lot of business to get a big income in my life. old age later. so even though I am not currently saving for my old age, at least I have a lot of business savings and in my old age I will enjoy the results and after that I am free to use the money for gambling or whatever.

I think I have different opinion from yours and that's because of the factors that should be considered before gambling at old age. I don't think it's an engagement that old people are supposed to get involved in because of how nervous it is to gamble. For instance, whenever one stakes his money, he's always nervous about it on wether he's gonna win his stake or lose it and that is unhealthy for an old man because the anxiety can be too bad for his medical condition. Old age is not what we should take lightly, perhaps experience will change the minds of some people when they eventually reach that level. Agree with this mate people who are in aging 60+ then for sure they will not hunt profit anymore cause like what you've said above they all they need want is to be happy, all they want is to make themselves comfortable and once they are bored then they will choose gamble for fun and  for entertainment. I don't think anybody who started gambling at a young age will like to continue at an old age if they really experienced bad gambling habits. I think you get it wrong here. If gambling is all about making profit, I think it would not be advised to gamble responsibly and gambling with what you can afford to lose. I agree with you Gozie51 for what you said about being able to change one habit with time,  and gambling is one of such habits that someone can stop if really the person is determined to stop at all costs,  this is because in gambling we have a lot of things that can negatively affect those who take it as means of getting an income and if it be perceived that way it then means that the gambler will have every reason to keep gambling and at some point even slide into addictions which could be a more dangerous situation to handle along the line.

That's the way it should be, whether they are young or old, they should be able to realize it so that they can make precautions or reduce and basically some restrictions that should be done. Honestly I don't care if they are old or young, in gambling they are the same and it all depends on themselves and their own personalities. We can't assume that those who are older are mature in their thinking and choices, it won't always be like that even though our assumptions usually say that older must be more mature. And that's the wrong thought, they make a mindset that will indirectly make themselves trapped or create a trap for themselves. So before gambling or getting into gambling it's better to do your research first, if you can't withstand all the risks that are there I think it's better not to do it because it will only make it worse and add to the problem.

I know how hard it is to get our minds around gambling especially if you're already in the addiction phase, it's very difficult, your logic and greed will keep arguing between the facts and the uncertain expectations. I can’t really predict the future but all I can say is that if I still have passion for my favorite games when I get old and I still can access my internet to make my betting online without any issue or if I can work down the betting shop without feeling any pains due to stress or bond weaken base old age, then I think I can still place a bet.

I am not that old but I want to believe that there are different types of gambling across all age groups and economic status. Any one who is poor and old may be gambling to get extra source of income. While anyone who is rich and gambling may do it because they are bored and need company. I didn something like this as a kids. I was always thinking what kind of life i would be living as an adult, but as a young man i didn't have a clue about anything. So it's basically setting target days for someone you haven't even met, or know if young you even has same values as old you.

That gives people goals to look for, so who am not judging that behavior, but in reality no one knows what kind of person they will be when they grow old. At least i didn't have a clue. Yes, as long as you are still in proper control and consider it as entertainment there will be no limits for you to gamble even when you are old, because everyone has their own life choices even though I also think the same as you, I might be different and maybe I will stop when starting to have grandchildren or looking old, because it is better to find entertainment and pleasure by playing with grandchildren and family than gambling.

It is more difficult to cure gambling when we are older because we don't want to do anything else. Even when we are young, we don't want to do anything if we often gamble, especially when we are old. But I think if we gambled a lot from a young age, we might have spent a lot of money and could probably spend everything we had to gamble. They looked rich and they were entertained while playing games. I also noticed that the majority of people who play bingo in the mall where I usually make groceries are old women. People still tend to play gambling because they want to get entertained, it depends on the habit of a person, some of them earn alot of money and of course, want to have some fun with life gambling is one of their nostalgic activities when they are young, but if you are old enough without having a good amount of savings i guess youll focus in your child and grandchild because it's so more fun how they grow every day. But currently base on my experience too old people right here playing gambling not in casino but just a casual game with their neighbors and they could tell this as their bondng.

When it comes to "bonding", i would like to share that One of the classic gambling for middle class  oldies in our country is mahjong, if you're familiar in that gambling, they can play it inside of their house with their friends and sometimes they do this as hobby instead of playing in a common casino, knowing their ages, some seniors doesn't want crowded places and they didn't like traveling back and forth that's why mahjong is very common for old gamblers.

Now I have enough mindset to gamble and I am comfortable to gamble now if I feel comfortable to gamble in future days then I will gamble and if ever I lose interest in gambling then maybe not gambling. I am not guaranteed that I will gambling till my old age. I do  limited gambling because I am not interest addicted into gamble. Addiction in gamble is bad habit that's why I gamble in limitation. Yes I think that I will still gamble when I am an old man. Nothing wrong with enjoying casinos once you are retired. I think that everybody needs some thrill in his life and as long as I can afford to gamble I would like to do so. Maybe I am a bit biased because of the first time I ever visited a casino after turning 18. There was an old guy in suit and only white hair, his date however was only 20-25 years old. She was the most beautiful Asian woman I have ever seen in her evening dress. So if I ever turn 65 and are single again and I will celebrate my birthday in casino with a beautiful model. It was so much fun watching that couple bet money on roulette with that huge age difference. In the end everybody has to decide for themselves how long they want to gamble and when they will stop. I am a nostalgic person. Why? I still prefer playing PSP, and PS1 games despite the fact that there are more better games in consoles in this era. Why? It brings back a lot of memories.
I do think it will have the same effect on old gamblers or those who are getting old. Let's say they have a favorite slot game today and even though they will be creating new ones in maybe the next 5-10 years, he will still keep on going back at that same game and just play around running it with small bets just to have some fun.

Exactly my perspective aswell, if responsible gambling is been practiced, there's almost no way some one will get addicted because when you are responsible with your gambling habit, you only gamble based on your plans and strategy as anything outside these will be definitely avoided fully mad that way you almost don't get addicted.

Self control and discipline is another thing that comes with responsible gambling because if you don't have any of these you wouldn't be able to stick to your strategy to become responsible enough not to get addicted. Actually gambling is a way of life for some people and just fun for others. One day in a gambling shop I saw an old man come in the room, I had this same thought. But wasn't sure what the right answer would be in the future. As nobody can predict it. We don't know what's waiting ahead of us and that is because we have no idea if we are still able to do the things that we've been doing for so long. I think there is no age limit on gambling, if you know and feel that gambling only causes a lot of problems in your life especially in your finances then obviously the best you should do is try to stop or just reduce it from now on. Never target about when you should quit gambling because obviously time is not a reference for anyone to be able to stop, or that means if you have entered the addiction phase then you will not be easy to get out of it and that means you need a long time to process out of the activity.

Basically, there is no problem if you make gambling as nothing more than a fun activity to fill your leisure time, you can do that even if you have entered old age, but on the other hand I would not recommend it too much, because of the bad risks that can befall you at any time. After all, there are many other activities that can provide entertainment, not just gambling, and I'm sure you don't want to enjoy your old age with a lot of financial problems due to gambling. I will gamble till old age if eyes will allow me to be doing it till 70 years because, am not addicted to it and is part of some of the entertainment I use to release stress and over thinking from my body. One thing I can remember about the aged men, is that they love to go out once in a while to socialize with old time activities. People tend to go back to that which they're good at, while they were young. At old age and during my young days, I wasn't an active player of mahjong like you mentioned. That is important of course, if you are gambling and having fun but not have the money for it then you should not be having fun like that, it doesn't give you the right to have fun when you are not financially doing that stable.

agree to that. its just an issue of whether an old man have money or not. and most importantly is if he could go to the casino himself. one would definitly not push and old man riding a wheelchair.
