Dijkstra's algorithm is used in pathfinding. It finds the shortest route by looking at all the locations (geographically) of the vertices and lines (network). It considers all possible options and selects the best one. This algorithm is used in large variety of industries. I think it is most commonly used for mapping networks and determining optimum directions. For example, Google maps would use this algorithm to find the best directions. If the developers can implement this algorithm, it should be pretty awesome.

I've used the Dijkstra algorithm for calculating the best routes in a GIS network and it worked great. Excited to see it put to use in a coin!

There is a new algo. The dev just can't speak english well or something. As far as I can tell, the algo is applied to the transactions, not the POW. It is a scrypt coin with Dijkstra's algorithm applied to transactions. Not sure how much faster transactions will be though.. would love to see some results from the testing. This type of innovation could mean all coins follow suit and apply it to their transactions.

And even more important, the results of the tests. How much faster does this algorithm make transactions? Do some testing with and without the algorithm applied and show us the results. Put together a short description of how and why this algorithm makes transactions faster. I know this algorithm and am very interested in investing in this coin if it can improve transaction time. Every other coin will want to apply this algorithm to their transactions as well. If you can provide us with this information, this coin will see huge success.

Why scam ? Just because its still scrypt ?

I wouldn't jump to call it a scam just yet. The developer created unrealistic expectations when he said the POW algorithm is DIJKSTRA. So now people may think it's a scam. If he always said it was scrypt with Dijkstra applied to transactions then your expectations would have been met. I think this may have been an unfortunate communication issue. If you think about the algorithm applied to transactions it is a really innovative idea. I'm looking forward to seeing more about this coin. The developer hasn't really explained the concept to people. Everyone just thought new POW algorithm, better jump on it right away. I think there is huge potential in this coin as it is doing something that may improve all crypto.

What is that all means? Faster confirmations?

If I understand how the dev is implementing this, then there should be faster confirmations. Although I have no idea how much faster it would make confirmations it does make sense to optimize transactions geographically. Dijkstra's algorithm is a geographic distance analysis. For example, say I want to send crypto from my wallet in California to a store in New York. Typically you would send your crypto and it would be confirmed on the network. But where geographically is it on the network? If you need say 6 confirmations, you might be getting these confirmations from anywhere on the network. So if there is a node in china that will confirm the transaction, the data must travel from my telephone poles/ISP provider, across the ocean floor and to the node in china (yes there are large fiber optic cords connecting the internet between continents) to get the confirmation.  All six confirmation could be from anywhere in the world. Therefore the data must travel much further geographic distances. Data must travel either through internet cords or wireless to different geographhic locations throughout the world. Dijkstra's algorithm will reduce the geographic distance needed. So in the example where I am sending money from California to New York, dijkstra's algorithm will find the 6 most optimum nodes (geographically) between California and New York. This algorithm looks at the location of the start and end points and all the edges (lines connecting the nodes) in order to determine the best route. So the 6 nodes needed to confirm the transaction would be in between California and New York. There is no need to send data all over the world for confirmations. I believe this would optimize data flow of transactions.

That said, I haven't actually looked at the code yet. I hope the developer can explain the details of how Dijkstra's algorithm is applied. Please correct anything I may have said.

I will go over the code in the next fews days. You should update the first page immediately to let everyone know this is a scrypt coin and the innovation is in improving transactions.

It would certainly look like confirmations work the same way from the outside, but we need to know if Dijkstra's algorithm is applied and therefore transactions would be optimized. This coin is an utter mind fuck.  Dev launches it with some vague stuff about Dijkstra algorithm, he disappears, we discover it seems to be plain old scrypt, difficulty drops to 0.25 over a period of days as everyone assumes it is dead and abandoned, dev reappears, still doesn't explain what the fuck the Dijkstra stuff is about, then disappears again and difficulty is up well over 2000 with hardly anyone mining at the pools.

Difficulty shooting from 0.25 to 2600 all of a sudden is ALOT of ASICs pointing at it suddenly though.  And they aren't on any pools so it would have to be a gigantic private farm.

Thank you for your response. I believe I understand now. There is no implementation of Dijkstra's algorithm in the current coin. It is a simple scrypt clone. However, you have been testing Dijkstra's algorithm with transaction time. If this is successful this could be a big coin, otherwise it will be worthless.

For a given source vertex (node) in the graph, the algorithm finds the path with lowest cost (i.e. the shortest path) between that vertex and every other vertex, look easy in example above, they are only 6 vertex(node),but just thinking when coin spread to world they will be a big number of nodes,
and it could take more time to cpu found the shortest path more than use traditional algorithm, besides just giving another simple example
if we have 5 nodes A,B,D,F,C(pls consider B y C being more shortest between both)  if A want send coins to C but first going to B(according to Dijkstra algorithm and B could be a node hacker or so) then is better send A to D,after to F and every node until to arrive c(longest path), in this case always the shortest path could dont be through reliable node so what do you think?

The coin is just scam. No any Dijkstra algorithm in the source except the coin name.
The code is same as ENC(energy coin).

I would expect the code to be very similar. Dijkstra's algorithm is only applied to the transactions, so everything else would be a scrypt clone. There should be additional code where sending transactions.

alcurex works really good.
It is a new exchange for sure but if they keep improving, they will be much bigger in the near future!

alcurEX is not bad, sometimes it is a bit slow and the order management/buy/sell function is a bit weird, but nothing impairing...

anyway I don't want to spread FUD, but I'm starting to have a bad feeling about this, dev missing and volume/price dropping  :-\

I think I have heard you say this a million times now. Yes it is a scrypt clone, that is not in dispute. The dev are trying to implement Dijkstra's algorithm to sending transactions only (nothing to do with POW). If they can do this, it will go huge otherwise it will flop. It's a gamble, if you don't feel comfortable then don't invest. Personally I understand Dijkstra's algorithm well and think if anyone can implement it, it will be a game changer. All other coins (including bitcoin) would want to use Dijkstra's algorithm to optimize transaction speed.

I know Dijkstra's algorithm well and have implemented it many times before. I believe in it because I know the power it has and it makes sense for optimizing transaction speed. But I don't believe in these devs. It's doesn't even make sense to me though.. buy support won't happen until they release Dijkstra's implementation. How are they able to dump the coins when their is little buy support? Either an epic fail on their part or they have something still planned.

I don't really know what to think, all those messages are obviously fake and the behaviour of the dev would make me think that this coin is dead, but the 0.4 btc volume on alcurEX, even if it is far from the 6 btc of last week, is still crazy for such an exchange and such a coin...I'm genuinely courious about what's going on, I guess I'll just hold my DKC and see what happens, selling at 20 sat or seeing it go to 0 doesn't really change much

Oh, we've taken the Dijkstracoin software and started using it as a tool for trading with each other. I thought it'd be fun to try so we did it. We aren't really giving it a true value because it's constantly being mined on our own blockchain. Our 'price' rather changes as it inflates.

EDIT: Oh, and we're trading anything we'd normally exchange. (Video game and internet goods/services)
