Dear SativaCoin community,

I hereby announce the takeover of SativaCoin by Altcoin.Center.

What this means is that Altcoin.Center will:

- Provide upgraded wallets compiled against current non-vulnerable versions of the OpenSSL library. No new functionality will be added at this point; this is just an initial "emergency" update to eliminate the risks related to the buggy versions of OpenSSL.

- Initiate the search for a developer who is able and willing to take charge of technical development of STV

- Manage the strategical planning and overall coordination of the non-technical side of Sativa development, i.e. branding, partnership deals etc.

- Generally look after the coin doing our best to give it a long, stable and prosperous life.

For starters we have already added SativaCoin to the Altcoin.Center addseed network. The network currently has four DDoS protected nodes; two in Europe, two in Northern America. More nodes are to be added shortly. The task of the nodes is to provide a permanent high availability block source for GANJA as well as other coins "protected" by us.

STV looks pretty good right now. I asked some other multipools to add STV as a "payout option" but they wanted me to pay 0.75 BTC for that option. I would rather they take a fee from the process. It's almost like they don't realize they can be super popular if they add every bittrex coin as a payout option.

I wish someone would take multipool mining seriously and not just mine the highest paying coin. I would rather see my hashing power get used to actually be mining coins that have a future. Then pay out once those coins start succeeding later on. It's a lot of work to figure out which coin to mine for the future. If someone could specialize in this it would be one of the most popular ways to mine. It would take a team of dedicated specialists but it would be a big business.

I just wanted to let the community know that I have begun tweeting at numerous exchanges (Bter, Hitbtc, Kraken, Poloniex, BTC-E, Cryptsy, and Allcoin) to add STV and would appreciate any help that I can get  ;)

Yesterday on Askcoin Exchange we were 817th on the voting list with 0 votes and now we have risen to 87th with 101 votes, so vote away! Also CryptoDashboard.com now supports STV!

however without a community, it's pretty much worthless!

Fortunately, we have a growing community and some former holders have returned. There is certainly value in STV :)

One good thing about STV is that it can hold its value for a long time until more technology gets invented and becomes cheaper.

Though it might be a lot for you to comprehend, in the grand scheme of things competition is a good thing. In regards to the other coins you have mentioned, I have a different vision than them and time will tell how great STV will be. I aim to make STV the most trusted and valuable crypto for mj, not a pump and dump like others in the past. With only 10 million coins and a 5% pos interest, there is already value in STV.

After reaching out to so many merchants and services, it is quite evident that this project is no waste of time. The real question is why do you waste your time posting nonsense?

Though I cannot speak for the altcoin.center, as a devoted member to the Sativacoin (STV) community I have gotten us added to cointopay and multiple exchanges. I am currently working on bridging the gap between the crypto and mj world by reaching out to more merchants and services. Many have already committed to accepting STV and this is where the true value lies.

- The fact that bitcoin is enough doesnt mean that theres not going to be competition as in every market
- You need to be competitive in a market that grows exponentially every day, and youre currently way behind

I agree that the market is growing exponentially, but with so many scams and uncertainty with altcoins only the good will survive.The real value is not in having every feature that those outside the crypto world do not understand, but rather in implementation and acceptance by your everyday person. This is where we have and will continue to have success. I am also, however, open to new ideas and innovations with STV and we will be working on this in the near future because that will only help us grow to the next level.

P.S. Thank you for continuing to comment on our thread because we appreciate our exposure to the Bitcointalk community. We welcome anyone that wants to be a part of this growing project  ;D

Things are rolling and some good news are on the way; nothing ground breaking but definitely good stuff still. =)

By the way I fully agree with what Pastafarian said above regarding the value of the coins becoming from acceptance by everyday person. The speed of development in the altcoin scene has been crazy and it's quite understandable that in such a situation the value of the coins has been depending on a handful of different factors. Eventually things will however have to calm down and stabilize enough so that the currencies can be taken into serious use by both the "normal" folks out there as well as "normal" companies.

The value issue is of course one of the key questions overall - and one that I'm working on very actively to bring some new solutions to. As I mention in the 420 Alliance thread, one of the upcoming concepts has to do with an adaptation of the age old idea that a currency should be bound to some concrete resource with a concrete (and stable) value. Finnish ground water is one of the resources the solutions I'm working on will use, but not the only one. More news on this will be coming up as soon as I have enough confirmations from certain third parties.

This is a quality POS coin. If people keep investing BTC into the coin it looks like the price will keep going up. With the BTC price dropping it's getting easier for people to invest 1 BTC into it.

A multipool that pays out in STV would work really well for STV.

I've actually been planning to launch a multipool with STV payout option for some time.

I can provide the hardware (servers) + bandwidth for the multipool project. Usual cost for this would be 9.99 € per month, but I'm ready to run the pool at Altcoin.Center's Ridiculously Secure framework (http://altcoin.center/ridiculous) without any monthly fee, with 1% mining fee. I'll look into this ASAP.

I also agree it's important to have quality products available using Sativa. As it "happens" (not exactly a co-incidence;) Altcoin.Center's CryptoShop will soon accept Sativa as payment method. Some new products are also about to become available - ranging from high end hand-made tube amplifiers to the excellent Zemana AntiLogger software. When the AntiLogger sales starts (which happens within 24 hours from now), Sativa can be used to purchase a license at a limited time 10% discount. Hi, you announced a takeover but did not fork the coin.. so that means you don't have control of the github. Is this not scary to you?

I've announced the takeover which has happened and have not seen any reason to for the code yet.

The fact that a fork has not happened only acts as a proof of the fact that the code is working well as it is.

I do not have control of the GitHub account since the original developer is not around anymore.

What exactly do you expect me to be scared of? =D

Quite a lot has happened actually. It just doesn't show on the surface. Pastafarian has been busy creating some great connections, Sativa has been added to the currencies accepted at CryptoShop (https://cryptoshop.altcoin.center/) and things are moving on. This is not a pump & dump operation which is why we are concentrating on actually doing something instead of maintaining the hype.

There will be updates. When the time comes. ;)

I spoke with Bittrex and they have extended the danger of delisting warning to Friday, February 6th. Like Jyri has already mentioned, we are working hard to bring steady growth and value to STV.

You can buy and sell coins to yourself through the same account. It costs a few bucks in fees to do. It will keep the coin on bittrex no problems.  People always want to stay on bittrex but if STV doesn't have the volume then what's wrong with being on a different site? If it ever blasts off and gets 100 BTC volume a day then bittrex will add it back.

Looks like we had enough volume to stay on Bittrex  :D

Now we can focus on our continued growth and development of STV!

Someone owns 1.7 million STV. I think thats turning off a bunch of investors. Whoever owns those should take them off bittrex and store them in smaller amounts.

What are you working at?

I did reach out but they wanted to see more development. They urged me to keep them posted on further developments with STV, however.

I am currently forging relationships with individuals involved in the crypto world, the mj community, and the financial world. While I am working on this, the altcoin.center has been helping with the technical aspect of STV and have brought up the idea of a multipool that pays out in STV and a web wallet as well.

I have a grand vision for this coin, but I am also open to hearing what other suggestions the community has to offer!

 I think people are hoping to know a little bit more as to what's happening since it's hard to gain/keep interest if everything is done behind the scenes in the shadows.

I don't see any weed coin being better than any other. All of the weed coins have a chance of being as massive as bitcoin is today.

altcoin.center has high level technical support for all of the coins in its system. It will add many features in the future.

As weed becomes more legal in the USA, I see all of the weed coins doing extremely. I see bitcoin growing 50x in the coming years.

I just wanted to provide a small update on some things that I am currently working on.

I have recently reached out to some devs of other coins to form partnerships in whatever way possible to bring value to all parties involved.

Also if anyone can help, I am also trying to create a platform for STV to be traded against BTC and USD so please pm me. Since my background is in finance, I have some ideas for further developing this platform ;) I have personally set aside a substantial portion of my STV for fundraising this endeavor.

Nice price rise. Someone new just got in on STV for cheap.

The PoS mining of this coin is really good at keeping the price stable or rising. It doesn't really drop in value.

It will be interesting to see if PoS is secure and works with millions of users at once.

The STV dev is part of The Epic 420 Alliance Joint Force. #420jf is trying to crowd fund and needs articles.

There seems to be too many centralized crowd funding sites. We are looking at doing crowd funding where a crowd funding site could obtain a sales commission fee for the funds they reaise. We would use as many crowd funding services as possible. There's a standard 10% sales commission that we are looking at using.

Not only could crowd funding sites promote #420jf but magazines/twitters could promote the crowd sale.

The part in red initially sounds like it would be attractive, however if you are simply expecting to 'drop off and pick up' that 10% doesn't sound too appetizing after all.

I think anyone that does a 10% deal is going to be looking for minimal responsibility.

Hello Sativacoin Community. Unfortunately it looks like STV has been delisted from Bittrex for the time being. I have already sent them an email because I was under the impression that we had enough volume on July 10th to not get delisted on the 17th. It was saddening to get back from my meetings in Washington D.C. and see STV delisted on bittrex. I am now just waiting on a reply and will update asap.

If anyone is not as optimistic as I am about STV's future, I am willing to buy their STV off of them at .00000025 BTC a piece. Just pm me and we can arrange a deal; either send me the STV and I will send the BTC, or we can arrange a deal through a trusted escrow.

Please urge Bittrex to reconsider their decision as well through as many means possible (support tickets, twitter, etc.)

What? STV definitely had enough volume. I know because I would have faked volume if it didn't already have enough.

I don't understand why bittrex can't just say... it costs this much to get listed on the exchange for a year. Then we could all raise the funds and pay the fee. Right now it costs 0.007 BTC per 2 week period to stay listed. So 0.007 * 26 = 0.182 BTC year to stay listed. Bittrex would make more money by charging a yearly rate of 0.2 BTC with all volume then being a bonus.


I have been talking poorly about bittrex lately. Maybe they delisted it because they hate me? lol jk. I think what happened was their times were a bit off making the volume a bit too early to count.

I completely agree and wish that it was that easy to stay on. I am still talking to Bittrex in hopes that there is some reconsideration. There is so much potential with STV and I continue to work on development in whatever capacity that I can.

To the community: While I await Bittrex's response, know that I am working on getting something together so that we have another option for trading as well  :)

I hope it gets relisted. If not, make sure to remove all of your STV.

I have been working on an alternative, however, called www.sativaexchange.com and hope that this can serve as a solution while we continue to rebuild STV. The exchange that I was hoping to complete is very close to becoming a reality, but I do need some help finishing. I am planning on launching a weed coin market making asset in the coming days.
If anyone here wants to be involved, please send me a pm. I am looking for a few larger investors to get it off the ground.

The basic idea is as follows.
50% of the asset will be used to invest in various weedcoins to stake, the other 50% will be used for arbitrage and possibly HFT if I can find the right algo.
For the short term, 75% will be held back to reinvest in more staked coins and the 25% will be paid out as dividends, either weekly or twice a month depending on size and earnings.
To keep things simple it will probably launch on NXT Asset Exchange, but I will probably do colored coins as well.

I contracted someone to compile both the Mac and windows wallet. It was under his mega account; I don't have one. I reached out to let him know the link wasn't working, but now the individual is unwilling to send the files to either myself or rdyoung.

I have been transparent since I have gotten involved and informed the community that I am not too skilled in the technical sense, therefore all development has been done via third-party. Please understand that I want the best for Sativacoin, which is why all development has been funded by me personally.

STV has been around since September 2014 and though we've have had some setbacks, there has been steady growth since then. Congrats on getting on alcurEX.  I have followed alcurEX and microCoin for awhile.  other than losing about 10-15 million old mrc cause didn't find out about the change in time, i am glad to see the site progress after so much hurdles.

I personally own a bit of the alcurEX shares and will be trading STV there for sure.

A big thanks to everyone that has continued to support Sativacoin! I have not put out any news since I'd like to deliver first but know that I am still here. I was so happy to see that we have been trading in the 700 satoshi range on Bittrex. While we have made a lot of progress thus far though, this is only the beginning. Hey blake, thanks for continuing to support STV! :D

As far as the recent spike is concerned, for full disclosure, I did buy some but not all of the SativaCoin. Another reason for the spike may be that I have been working hard on a clothing site to expand the reach of STV. At this point in time traditional payment methods as well as Bitcoin are accepted and I will continue to fund development with some of the revenue generated. The site is www.topshelftoker.com  ;)
