1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth investing in coins you believe in? on: August 20, 2021, 10:37:14 AM
I think one of the reasons for a person success is believing in what he thinks or feel has a future, but we should not only believe we must put an effort to research and look a coin, background, and people who run it because sometimes they are trying to deceive a person, and wrongly spends it all, and in the end that persons go bankrupt, believing and research is the most important things that we should have if we are really into cryptocurrency, we should not be contented with a whitepaper and a tweet.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am trained in software engineering but don't know bitcoin on: August 20, 2021, 01:41:18 AM
Hi,

I was trained as a software engineer but did not have a career as one. Ventured into CNC Precision Machining and out of job 2 months ago. Since I have some knowledge about software, I would like to learn something about bitcoin. Meanwhile just helping my ex colleague to market machinable glass ceramic, as this type of material is too unique and I end up having too much time. Learning something new is important.

I would like to learn and may be set up my miner as well.
Please do help to point me where to start.

There are lots of books and materials over the internet as other people tend to share information to everyone, this is what I like about this forum, information is everywhere, if you want to setup a miner for bitcoin, it would be best to visit the mining section, there are also videos regarding that in the internet, feel free to ask questions, as I am also same as you are when i first stumble about bitcoin.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE BULL RIDE OF 2021 on: July 25, 2021, 04:33:16 PM
Well said mate but, The Bull Run has accurately followed the expectations even better but now it's a deep time. Next Bull run will be followed soon in my prediction, but still, we need to be careful because now we are in Berish season so try not to lose assets but soon in 2022 we can predict a new Bull Ride.
In the past few days where bitcoin drop to 29,000, lots of big names accumulated coins, while other panics, I can say that we are already moving up at moment, I'm not sure if we are at the dip because some say that we should have gone down to 20,000 but it never happens and rally back to this stage, maybe bitcoin is gearing up for another run.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season Champion: Milwaukee Bucks on: July 25, 2021, 03:39:15 PM

They can't repeat championship, that was a one time trophy due to too many injuries on opponents. Next year there won't be this much injuries.

We never know, now that Bucks had already won a championship, we will see a more confident Milwaukee Bucks next season, also, expect that Giannis will improve as he is still young, they will try to develop him into an all-around player and more consistent with his FT shooting. The first five should remain intact, they can add some players to improve the teams' offense, particularly the 2nd unit as they might face a tougher challenge next season.

They need to add more role players if they are aiming for another ring,
the statement above is for real if there's no injuries with those super teams both Suns and Bucks will have the difficulty reaching the finals.

But since they are now the defending champ the value of this team may grow, finding or adding quality players is no longer hard for this team.

early to discuss the next season, lets wait for any possible trades from that we will see who's hot and possible to reach the finals.
I think they will be a target for players who are chasing rings before retirement, with the status of the bucks its likely that lots of pre-agent will like to sign with them even with a minimum just to have a chance with the ring, but I know next year will be hard, and it's not gonna be an easy path for the bucks, but i think even though they won this year it will be lot harder, because all the teams star will be at 100%.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ready for 2025 run otherwise its time and money wasting on: July 25, 2021, 01:38:44 PM
if we just waiting for 2025 how much opportunity to earn money we missed ? daily trading range should used to accumulate our bitcoin or altcoin to prepare the next boom at 2025. It is still 4 years and many volatility will happen in this periode, Accumulate our Usdt or cryptocurrency could make us rich someday , maybe it can come faster.

I agree with you, if we wait for 2025, we will miss a lot of opportunities that can be done to make money, maybe right now the market is not friendly, but if we side with us in 4 years before 2025, it will really help us as capital to bring great things to come.
Yes its a bit far to wait till 2025, this year have a lot to offer and we can accumulate now, for the future I think, you are correct missing a lot of opportunities, will be a waste if we don't take advantage of it, save lots of promising coins now, it might not be 2025 where coins will go again to an all-time high, it might be sooner than we expect.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Scam Alert] Beware of Airdrops that will drain tokens out of your address. on: July 25, 2021, 06:52:20 AM
Some hours back, there are users who have lost funds due to a scam airdrop that exploits Thorchain's code base

In this sort of attack the hacker airdrops the malicious tokens to several addresses of the would be victims. In this case the malicious token that was airdropped was UNI Holding (UniH) tokens

Once the victim tries to authorize the airdropped token in order to exchange it, the victim’s address instantly gets drain off other tokens if they available in the same address. In other words, the hacker will transmit tokens from your wallet to his address without needing any private keys or seeds.

Around 2,500 ETH was lost due to the attack
Some traders also lost RUNE tokens

Ways to avoid Airdrop scam losses

1. Avoid participating in airdrops at all and giving out your sensitive details like email addresses and wallet addresses

This I think is the safest way to avoid scams and letting hackers get into your accounts, by far, airdrops might give you a chance to be a millionaire but if you have already built your portfolio, from investing to other coins, why not just focus on those and keep distance from the airdrop.
but if you really want to get airdrops badly I think you make a separate email and wallet for those things, just to be 100% safe,
also this one is an old trick but always scam people email links always read where it came from and never ever open it just delete suspicious emails, change your password immediately.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season Champion: Milwaukee Bucks on: July 24, 2021, 02:35:44 PM

I think Giannis has to respect Lebron and Durant, they join a team because they want to win a championship and it's not illegal, if he does not want to be criticized, he should not talk sh*t about other superstars, did Giannis want to hear that he only won because his team was playing against an injured Brooklyn Nets?

Respect indeed, he may be the man of the moment after winning the title but the question is how long he will

hold this, knowing that there are many rivals in this coming new season, better to stay humble and prove your worth without saying
against anyone, you'll be love by the fans more. Look how MJ kill all those rivals stars from his era, by simply climbing without any
self claimed he destroy everyone to bring himself at the very top!

Exactly, the chance of the Bucks to win the NBA Finals or even advance in the NBA Finals is not high if they were able to face a healthy Brooklyn Nets, and if they got lucky and advance in the NBA Finals, they might struggle against a healthy LA Clippers.

That's just my opinion, and I really believe Bucks would not win.

Look, I'm not a hater of Giannis, in fact I bet on the Bucks to win against the Suns, I'm just telling the reality.
They got lucky Irving and harden is hurt, with Irving in those match up, bucks might have not made it to the finals, durant alone is not enough, but the experience of Irving is very important if they face Brooklyn again and the team is still intact, I think it will be a different result, it's just unfortunate for the nets, even though giannis won a championship he should be still down to earth.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Happens To Your Crypto If You Sleep One Day and Don't Wake Up The Next Day? on: July 24, 2021, 08:50:23 AM
This issue has been discussed before, and I have considered it before. If something happens to me, what should I do with these assets? I have now taught my family and friends to use cryptocurrency and told them to store my keys correctly. When my misfortune does happen, they can access it based on the key I provided. Of course, if it can be written in the will, there are legal advantages. But if we don’t have time to tell our family and friends, when we die, our assets will be lost, and the family will lose a piece of protection.
are you going to include the keys to the will? surely if that's a big amount of money if someone sees it, they would have got interested and stole it,
the most convenient way would give it to a person you trusted inside the family, I would not entrust it to someone outside of the family, but if it happens that if you died and you never tell it to someone, that money will stay there because it will be impossible for them to crack it open without the keys.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Campaign Token on: July 23, 2021, 03:26:36 PM
The average bounty allocates the most tokens for Twitter, Facebook, Signature, Youtube and Article campaigns.
is there a bounty that allocates higher tokens to the Signature campaign?
it will depend on the project where they want to be the focus or advertise most, and give the higher percentage of the campaign, mostly they give lots of percentage in bitcointalk campaigns or some other social platform, or those like translation, making videos of the projects, at the end of the day the manager of the campaign will only follow the companies choices or allocation.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season Champion: Milwaukee Bucks on: July 23, 2021, 06:07:53 AM
Just awkward and funny to think though, Booker + Middleton + Holiday all Olympic bound and could possibility in the same plane going to Japan.  Grin. Last game they tried to kill each other and now they are team mates and possible to bring home another Olympic basketball gold for the US team.  Grin.

I don't see it as awkward since they already know each other for long. They are in the league for a long now and already made several matches between them so I don't understand what's the awkward part.

And you have to remember that they bond with each other every All-Star game either as a participant or as an audience.

And he already achieves his dream of winning the championship, hopefully, he will continue dreaming of getting a back-to-back championship as other greats have done.

Another player that starts from scratch has no talent just height, doesn't have a muscular built, always losing in the playoffs, carries his team, and now evolves into a real shit dominating everyone with his strong built. A player the really worked on his skills.

I remember someone saying here when Bucks is losing in the season, Giannis should work on his 3 points, you are LOL.
The reason why they won it all this year, is because everyone steps up when it matters the most, it seems like everyone who the coach pull to play, is on a mission, and do what they have to do, Lopez, pat, portis, and other bench players showed up, in those crucial run from the first round to the championship, not only Giannis and Middleton, I think other teams should consider looking for this type of players, unlike those who show up and gone the other day.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How crypto currency change your Life? on: July 22, 2021, 04:38:38 PM
Its not easy, but will be more difficult if i must go out from house to earn, with cryptocurrencies, i am earning from home, it is much changing my thoughts that we must go out from home to get paid like mostly people here.
With cryptos,  i can do trade and bounties to earn, it is really help me during this pandemic.
I've known cryptocurrency way back year 2017 which I have join my first bounty but it's a shame that even I made a good profit from it I'd still haven't made any investment in cryptocurrency. I am afraid at first and what I did was I educate myself first about cryptocurrency and gave myself a time to convinced that it should be a worth to invest with. Now I am all in at cryptocurrency and I can truly say that life with crypto is totally different, I can stay at home and earning at the same time.
we have more time to spend with our family, earn money from anyplace as long as we connected to internet. old community that come from 2017 mostly now have alot of money, there are alot successfull project that could give them huge money. switching our assets from bounty reward to bitcoin or other altcoin will give us good profits actually. we get freely capital to start investing in bitcoin or another crypto.
I think this is one of the advantages of being into crypto, unlike our current job working, then go home tired every day, I'm not saying quit your job but, if you have a chance to start crypto take it, we really don't know what will happen, to be the same thing, I can spend more time with family, take care of my mom who is old and sick, so being to crypto is a big help when it comes to working, although there are times where its really stressful, but most often it brings freedom when it comes to where to spend, something like that.
12  Other / Archival / Re: Beginners, do not choose a no-name exchanges on: July 22, 2021, 02:18:24 PM
This is a very correct observation. Unfortunately, many newbies do not listen and choose not the most reliable exchanges for work ...
There are few reasons for that behavior, they don't want to be taught by others, because they think they know what they are doing, but then ask for help when they are already in trouble.
They want to explore or they think that they discover gold when they saw a certain coin, because believe it or not, every one of us hold a coin that we think there is a possibility to make us reach, but in reality not all will bring us to glory, some will make us bleed money and no returns in the end.
They were taught the wrong way by others or feed the wrong information, by some people.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Passive income on: July 21, 2021, 03:48:47 PM
There are a lot of ways you can earn in cryptocurrency.

Here are the two examples of the most commonly used method

1.) Staking - Staking coins is a way to gain consistent returns on your cryptocurrency portfolio if you want to earn 1% a day. The standard holding period for staking is one to six months, but various fixed periods are available.
2.) Mining - You can profit from cryptocurrency without having to invest any capital. Bitcoin miners are rewarded with Bitcoin when they complete "blocks" of validated transactions added to the blockchain.

3. Trading - if you have enough knowledge and capital in trading, you can get a passive income from it. Just learn first before do trading to avoid huge losses if ever.
It is risky and couldn't be considered as passive income IMO.
Honestly, we can't find passive income here in crypto. Yes, you can make huge money from here IF given a chance and so unfortunate that not all the time comes.

If are absolutely looking for a passive income, let's have to find a stable job rather than staying here. Maybe offering skilled service in the forum could help but not taking, mining, and trading.
yes, i agree with you most of the passive income in crypto disappear after few months or a year, because some user will abuse it, to get more money and leave when they know it's going to fall apart, that passive income sometimes the money we get came from the people who just came in, and wan't to try but they don't know they will be trap.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No late commer in cryptocurrency on: July 21, 2021, 10:16:04 AM
I often see people complain bitterly about the opportunity they missed years ago. Infact, I am one of the people. But, it just occurred to me that there is no late commer in the world of Cryptocurrencies. More coins are introduced everyday. There are numbers of low coins you can buy and hold now, your inability to do it now may also result to regret in 5years time.

The major challenge is information, now you are informed, it's your morning, you are not late. If you think some coins are so expensive, buy the inexpensive ones. No one knows the pregnancy that carries a king.
Thanks!
you have a point, but at this time the most important coins are already at high, but yes if you are just talking about profit, there are really other coins that are not too expensive at the moment, which will have a higher value at the future, the most important thing about it is you need to be early at some point, getting ahead is way better than late because you can have it at a cheaper price, and take profit while others are just getting started.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 21, 2021, 06:27:41 AM
In the end, Giannis was just too much to handle.  Was funny hearing him talk about his brother winning a ring with the Lakers last year and it being awkward at the dinner table.  Amazing that he had such skill that he literally carried his brothers with him from poverty to the NBA and got them both championship rings.  His story has got to be one of the best ones in the NBA and this championship is well deserved for him.  When all is said and done for him, they're going to make one hell of a documentary about his life.
Definitely too much Giannis for the suns, the killer instinct that is missing according to some analyst that is missing finally came out of Giannis, Ayton could not stop him, and the suns fierceness disappear in game 6, congratulations to the bucks and the players, they deserve the title, what they have overcome to reach the finals is worth it.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 20, 2021, 11:30:12 AM
I was going to read this thread until I saw 68.2% votes think suns will win.

You need to back read, so that you will understand why the voters thinks that the Suns will win the NBA Finals for this year. It's not the majority are wrong, but the Suns has been playing good basketball beating the Lakers, then sweep the Nuggets and then the Clippers.

But the Bucks has also gone into a lot in this series, specially against the Nets. But even if they are leading, you can still see that the next game is still unpredictable. Others say that there might be a game 7, while there are Bucks fans who wishes for them to close the Suns in their home court and be the NBA champions after 50 years.

Phoenix surpasses its self and its limit by been to the NBA Finals. At the start of the season, I really doubt that someone expects them to be there. They also have a huge motive since they never get a ring. At least Bucks have won it once... Grin
IMO Bucks was and still is the favorite for winning the series, even if they lose Game 6. And as a basketball fan, I would prefer to see a 7 game... (sorry Giannis) Tongue Grin
The suns are the favorite to win the championship when they defeated the lakers and the clippers, also when they have an edge with a 2-0 lead over the bucks, but then the buck's rally to take a 3-2 lead in the series, which I think is the suns relax a bit if you will see in game 1 and 2 everyone is eager and is moving without the ball Cameron Payne also disappear from the picture which is a very big factor why they are in the finals, not just because of booker and paul, he is one of the key players if they really want to climb back for game 7.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 21 July is going to big for btc price? on: July 19, 2021, 01:45:34 PM
Btc going to big move after 21 July because ELON MUSK going to meet JACK DORSEY, this meeting purpose is how to mine btc, which enargy are used in btc mine
You can check also: https://twitter.com/jack/status/1408102135040970759?s=19
What is your thinking about this meeting? Is possible to grow up btc price after this meeting?
  Drope your point? Tnx
I think this is just to trap some new traders to ride in bitcoin pushing the price up so that Elon earn a lot of money to funds his projects, I really don't know why people never realize this, I'm not against bitcoin, but Elon, really manipulating everything from selling at the highest price then pushing the price downwards for him to buy back, its a never-ending cycle, we should know when to really buy.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Huge gains and still holding ? on: July 18, 2021, 01:50:38 PM
The biggest mistake anyone can do is still holding unto their altcoins when bitcoin touched 60k weeks ago and still holding strong when the fall began weeks ago, imagine someone still holding HEX token when the coin did 40x already? If you are someone like this friend I don't know what your aim is but sorry to say you are doing it wrong. Check yourself cos it's possible you are struggling with greed.
I think I see some still holding even the price have made that far, its because they believe the coins are undervalued, and it's true some are, especially if the coin has a product, or for example a coin, where they use the coin to buy something in the game, or staking, the point is if you can earn while holding it, why you are going to sell it, but if you are talking about a coin who just pop up out of nowhere, that's a different story.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 18, 2021, 11:16:56 AM
That first quarter was something to see. You got a glimpse of the Suns at their full potential. Giannis is just too much for them though. Ayton does a good job but he’s just not enough. I think the Suns have been playing great and this has no doubt been their best season since 1993, but with their back to the wall and the Bucks heading home it doesn’t look good…

It doesn't really look good for the Suns indeed. That was a good game actually. The Suns still lost even with Giannis missed everything in the free throw lane.
Milwaukee just came out better in game 5. Exciting game for both the fans and the bettors.
Everybody though the Suns could've turned the table around until the Holiday steal and Giannis alley-op.
There was a lot of opportunity right there for the Suns to win or tie the game up, but then again the Bucks just came out the better team today.
The suns have a chance of winning that game until holiday steals the ball, paul should have handled the ball and set Ayton or booker for a catch and shoot, since under the basket is where the bigs of the bucks are waiting, as a floor general paul should have made those plays, instead of giving booker decision on what to do, since paul have all the experience a bad play I guess on that last one, but still they have the chance but it will be more difficult, looks like they have paul check on his plays.
