1  Other / Off-topic / Julian Assange hearing Tuesday Feb 20 on: February 20, 2024, 06:06:33 PM
The Julian Assange hearing started today.  This is an  extradition appeal in front of the High Court in London.  Is anyone else following this?
Let's hope he is freed.
2  Other / Off-topic / CIA rectal feeding/torture on: February 26, 2023, 01:13:57 AM
Has anyone else read the recent news article about the forced rectal feeding of CIA prisoners?
What a bunch of sick fuckers these people are.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Poll: In your opinion is this the end for Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency? on: August 19, 2022, 06:58:23 PM
So we have seen Cryptocurrency hit with many huge scams, come under increased scrutiny and regulation, as well as being the subject of environmental concerns.

As of late, Bitcoin is trading at the lowest levels I've seen it trade in quite some time.

So I made this poll to gage the latest opinions of the users here.

The question is, due to any of these issues, or a combination of them, are we finally going to see the end of Bitcoin and
Cryptocurrency or is it still a safe haven?
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin/crypto hacks or scams on: December 15, 2021, 02:46:55 AM
I read about a cryptocurrency hack recently where they were able to steal tens of millions of dollars.
With that kind of money involved, I'm surprised this doesn't happen often.  Good thing that people are so honest.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Proof of stake criticism on: July 16, 2021, 02:49:39 PM
So Bitcoin has always used proof of work as did Ethereum.  But with Ethereum switching over some of us must be thinking of the possibility of Bitcoin doing so as well at some point.  With that in mind I wanted to revisit this topic as I remember there being a lot of criticism of proof of stake with the arrival of the first coins to start  using it, but I don't recall the specifics.
One thing is we know that with proof of stake no actual work is required for the validation which secures the blockchain.  Is this a concern or does it not really matter? What do you think are the other risks or concerns?
6  Other / Off-topic / World falling apart? on: June 22, 2021, 08:43:16 PM
Anyone else follow world events closely? It seems like there is more and more disasters, mostly manmade, by the day. Along with the threats of war, plagues, and general environmental decline.
I'm not trying to post one of those 'the sky is falling' threads, but if you look closely there's a lot of negative events coming at us from many different angles.

Things seem to be falling apart, and I think it has been building up to this for quite some time.

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Rediscovering WHACKD token on: May 17, 2021, 08:57:38 PM
WHACKD, the token from Mcafee.
I found I still have some of this in an old wallet from an airdrop.  A few other tokens as well, but this one is the most high profile of the bunch.
Is there any chance of this being rediscovered, or is it locked down and not possible to trade?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Trillion dollar DOGE on: May 05, 2021, 02:13:46 AM
None of us thought Dogecoin could get where it is.
Looking at it now, I think they could push this anywhere.
$10 - $15 even
Trillion dollar marketcap?  Sure, why not.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitcoin no longer relevant? on: May 04, 2021, 07:30:57 AM
Is Ethereum and other altcoins taking over and replacing Bitcoin?
If so, how fast will this happen?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ETH versus BNB updated poll 2021 on: May 01, 2021, 04:21:11 PM
With everything that has happened, I am interested to see if sentiment has changed over the poll from last year.
Results of that poll show 296 ETH versus 52 BNB.
If you like one of the others instead, let us know which one.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Poodle token could be the next Dogecoin, ready for early adopters on: April 17, 2021, 06:20:11 AM
POODL is another dog themed coin.
I wonder if this will follow Dogecoin's lead.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crazy Dogecoin run 100x in 2 years on: April 17, 2021, 12:29:28 AM
The run by Dogecoin is by far one of the most crazy rally in the past two days, i never expected the market to rally continuously for two days and the sad part is that i already sold my coins during the last pump and never bothered to by back again as i thought the market will not go further like we saw in the past two days and anyone having the patience to hold this long must have made a fortune.

Join the club.  I'm guessing most of us here missed out on it.
Sad.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crazy Dogecoin run 100x in 2 years on: April 16, 2021, 11:04:56 PM
What do you guys make of this.
According to my research:

Dogecoin reddit subscribers, 2021
Jan 3.
180k
Feb 3.
790k

Apr. 16(today)

Seems odd.
If you go further back it has had 100k + for a while, probably at least all of 2020.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Crazy Dogecoin run 100x in 2 years on: April 16, 2021, 06:49:09 PM

This is up 100x over a year or two, and it is still going higher.
