1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do your parents invest in bitcoin ? on: May 25, 2024, 06:42:59 PM

My parents are the type of people who believe in what they can see with their eyes; they are both entrepreneurs, yet they find it difficult to invest in Bitcoin.

Most parents from Africa are like that and that is because they are not used to this online thing where you earn money without selling something physical. My mum used to think it was the same thing as internet fraud when I started with bitcoin. She used to be scared I would get into trouble with law enforcement. Her fears are not strong anymore now although she does not still understand what bitcoin is. Am not interested in enlightening her. It will be wasting  my effort.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shops now accept BTC on: May 25, 2024, 12:09:52 PM
It just get to know that some shops now accept BTC as exchange, that is very good Bitcoin is making progress, after some years now Bitcoin will shock the world, with the way things are going now.

Those who have shops accepting bitcoin as payment will not know what advantage they have over others where their governments are busy chasing them and banning open bitcoin transactions like in my country Nigeria. OP you did not state the country you are from here. I feel bad when I see other people being allowed to use bitcoin freely without hiding to spend what they earned legitimately.
3  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Bank limitations, loss of customers as result of POS on: May 25, 2024, 12:01:25 PM
In fact the POS thing don make financial transactions easier, you fit even collect money from your customer hand when transaction dey hang. The thing don increase trust level for some customers and pos person and infact e don expose how people be with money matter self.

Banks and POS matter come be like NEPA and generator matter. Na the ones weh supposed be alternative come be the main thing now and we come trust them pass. Most things for Nigeria na abnormal situation them deh work and those in charge no want to do anything to change the situation.
4  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Bank limitations, loss of customers as result of POS on: May 24, 2024, 04:15:08 PM
Omo, POS ( point of sale) has taken over the bank people now, they have many things easier and faster unlike the banks who will just be wasting people time and energy yet one can't still fulfil what he or she came for, so this POS can help or deliver someone in need, especially during emergency that concern health, with POS one can have peace of mind etc.

This thing weh banks deh do no make sense at all at all. Do you know that there is still limit of N20,000 for daily ATM withdrawals from banks. I experienced am two days ago As I use my card on two different banks. I managed to withdraw N20,000 on Zenith ATM, the thing alerted me say I don reach my limit as I tried to withdraw more. I shift go Access bank, na the same refusal. This our country we no know whether na front or back we deh go self. The thing no make sense at all. I was thinking na N100,000 be daily withdrawal for ATM, abi them don change am?

6  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Kucoin in trouble? on: May 09, 2024, 02:03:06 PM

Is there any exchange that has not committed one offence or the other as far as government and SEC are concerned? They will always find a way to intimidate crypto exchanges or organizations they see to be a challenge to them by putting allegations on them. Government themselves are a big enterprise of money laundering and they can not deny it. Kucoin is still doing fine, I have not noticed any issue with it. It was the same thing they accused Binance of so they can take out the owner and sabotage the exchange.
7  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Make you no leave very small Satoshi, for wallet during bear run. on: May 09, 2024, 10:05:13 AM
I get one small experience wey I wan share and e de against that believe say we suppose to hodl our Bitcoin for long term. E get Bitcoin wey I move from one wallet and I just leave small Satoshi, wey worth like $7 more or less, I no really remember di particular amount, and na wen Bitcoin de around $72k, but di point now be say na around $3 worth remain for dat wallet. Aldo I know say we no suppose hodl dat kind small amount of Satoshi, but e show me say e get di kind amount of Satoshi, wey you go leave for your wallet, if price continue to dip or for bear run, one day everything go just disappear.

I still advocate for long term hodll for Bitcoin, but make we no leave very small Satoshi, for wallet, e de important to top am, unless we de sure say we de inside bull run proper, make you no wake up one day and see say di small Satoshi don disappear. Dat na my small experience, how una see am?

Na the same thing you for still observe even if na 5 bitcoin you leave there. Once price drop the value also go drop but the 5 bitcoin go still remain 5 bitcoin the same way weh the small one weh you leave there remained. It is only the value that changes. No go reason am too much before you come begin catch cold for mind. No amount of bitcoin is too small to hold.
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will communism ever be realized? on: May 03, 2024, 05:21:29 AM

Greed is not the only reason why we have capitalism.

We are simply not equals.

“Person A” is a lazy dumb fuck. The only thing he does is playing video games, eating and sleeping.
“Person B” is smart and hardworking. He is capable of building stuff.

Communism steals from “Person B” and gives it to “Person A”. When “B” experiences it, he stops being productive because he realizes he is not getting paid enough for his efforts. Then he also becomes like “A” waiting for the free stuff.

Basically communism uses “B” as a slave to keep “A” alive. The long term outcome is to equalize everyone on being retarded.

That’s the problem.

Your point is accurate and that is what I also believe. We do not have capitalism because people are greedy and want to exploit others. Infact, it is the opposite of that assumption because the government which puts communism in place wants to exploit those who are hardworking to encourage the lazy ones. Everybody should work and get what they deserve. Government only need to create an environment that encourages hardwork. Communism at some point will make citizens over depend on government and that slows down the pace of development.
9  Economy / Economics / Re: Church Business on: April 06, 2024, 07:56:46 AM
Infact the rate at which GOD is calling people into the ministry is what gave me concerned as I have been waiting for the same call but is not forth coming, before the advent of this present evegelical move people who where associated with the church where termed church rats but today that statement has changed as it is now the church rats that are giving food to the outside rats

This is an African way and I believe you must be from Africa to have this experience. The calling thing is people  using that means to skin others of their money and material gains. It is not because they really doing the work that pleases God. They are only after what they will get from their congregations. Most of those who claim they are called by God are people who have failed to secure employment or make money from their businesses, so they go into opening churches as a way to earn a living from their low thinking followers. Anybody can open a church especially in my country. All you need is a dead conscience to do that. Church is a business centre in Africa. Am not sure Europeans do it the way Africans bastardized religion.
10  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can politics be pure? on: April 04, 2024, 11:49:45 AM
Is it possible to avoid negativity in politics? Is it possible to have politics in which neither hatred nor jealousy exists for the opposition? Yes, this is possible.

Politics without envy is not possible and that is because there is always losers. Anyone who loses a contest will not be happy that they lost. That is why envy comes in, although most of them in civilized Europe will pretend they are not feeling bad when they lose. In Africa, it is that bad that losers can go on a witchhunt and killing of their opponents. It is obvious knowledge.
11  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Petroleum price on: January 13, 2024, 05:18:07 PM

13  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can we proudly tell people that we're Bitcoiners? on: January 13, 2024, 04:49:24 PM
So my question is this, can we proudly tell people that we're Bitcoiners? And even if we do how can they be convinced that we're doing genuine work online since the society sees most people earning from online as fraudsters (Yahoo boys).

Wetin be the need of telling people say you be bitcoiner if e no deh necessary. E no go make any sense because people go still believe wetin them want to believe. Most of the people weh you want to explain give self fit to no understand wetin bitcoin be self. You go just waste your time talking to people weh go still gossip you immediately you leave them presence. If you deh fear say them go call you Yahoo boy na that one them go first call you self. Just concentrate on yourself and wetin you deh do. Do your thing in private. No forget say country hard and if people begin see you as someone who get bitcoin na problem you deh cause for yourself. Be careful.

15  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do women have more retentive memory than men? on: November 19, 2023, 05:25:55 AM

People will remember what is important to them. Those things you listed there that women remember easily are things that matter to them but do not matter to men that much. Men like to concentrate on heavy things but women like  things alot that may not be necessary and will remember any of that because of their softness and romantic nature. This is what makes it sound like women have more retentive memory than men.
16  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: We should control our tongue at all time. on: November 14, 2023, 03:24:14 PM

Wetin that girl talk na the pure truth and na the thing weh deh everybody mind anytime weh we see checkpoints. But na to talk am out be the problem because of the guns weh those men deh carry. The girl allowed her mouth to run fast weh nobody send am at that point. She for wait make the motor move small then she go begin talk. Na frustration make many of us deh react to police that way. Them know how to extort and intimidate the masses but the real criminals be them friends.
17  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which does good leadership depends more on? Age, experience or education? on: November 02, 2023, 04:55:53 PM

Good leadership depends on individuals and not on age, education or experience. This is what I have observed. If someone is good and honest there are chances that they will be in a position to be better leaders than those with bad behaviour. We have seen young people go into governance it end up misbehaving. Likewise old people. It is the same thing with those who have experience but use their experience for stealing and embezzling public funds. This is common in Africa.
18  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Food dragging at events on: October 23, 2023, 08:46:33 AM

Still on still, this matter don deh worst now self. The burial weh I attended this weekend weh just pass make me realise how things don deh very bad. I thought much people no go attend that burial unto as the dead man no too mix up with people when him deh alive. But people plenty everywhere and deh drag food. It was not a small matter. Hardship don make many people begin mishave without knowing say them deh misbehave so.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hardwork pays not luck! on: October 17, 2023, 03:38:25 PM

Hard work still pays but not every time. For example, if you have a destiny to be rich, that is luck. Without hardwork heyou will still be rich.

Where did you hear this gospel from. It is totally made out of error and very misleading. I beg you not to spread this type of statement to gullible minds. There is nothing like luck in wealth creation and there is nothing like someone is destined to be rich. It is purely a fallacy that was devised to deceive people.

Stop acting that you have not seen it in action before. What about those who hit jackpot at casinos without knowing what they spinned? What about those who bought bitcoin that year without knowing what happened or what it was? Was it all of them who bought then without knowing what bitcoin was who still have their bitcoins till date? Some of those who sold early are they rich from it today? Did they not do the same thing as those who bought then and still kept their own till today because of fate and luck?  Whatever you say or do make sure you think of that element of luck. You are not what you are today because you are more hardworking than others. You are not in the BestChange campaign today because you worked harder than others that applied then or had the best posts but you were lucky. Have you seen that luck effect now?

Hard work still pays but not every time. For example, if you have a destiny to be rich, that is luck. Without hardwork heyou will still be rich. It is this luck that alot of youths depend on now and that has made so many of them to be lazy. It has led to them wasting their lives and time in idleness instead of getting a job. At the end when this youths discover it is getting late to reposition and make something for themselves, they turn to crime because of desperation. Hardwork can not succeed without luck.

It's too naive to talk about fate. Man is the creator of his own happiness without any fate and destiny. This is usually used by various losers to justify their defeat, as if it was fated and so is fate. In fact, everything depends on the person, not on some mythical fate. You can make money in cryptocurrency with knowledge and luck, but it is very difficult to keep that money for a long time. Those who are lucky enough to earn a large sum of money once, later mismanage these assets and lose everything.

You say it is naive to talk about fate but you agreed that luck exists. What is luck if it is not fate?
