In the first place — why would 'blockchain' not survive? Blockchains will work totally fine without mixers and coinjoins and stuff. I'm all for privacy, but everyone simply isn't interested in it whether we like it or not. Only a minority cares about self-custody and being self-sovereign; a lot of people just want to use it just as an investment/hedge.
And yes, even without privacy, Bitcoin and blockchains would still be useful, just as these are still very useful today despite privacy being very minimal.
Still useful, probably--if you do as the powers-that-be command. Imagine living in Stalin's Soviet Union and only having crypto to transact with. They would obviously ban all private transactions. All your finances would be a matter of public record. This is not some theoretical scenario, but a real-life hazard that we will likely experience in the coming decades.

https://twitter.com/Snowden/status/1786170805728039127Edwards Snowden just made a tweet with final warning for everyone that privacy for Bitcoin is needed on protocol level. I tend to agree with him on this and I really don't understand why nothing has been done regarding that for years, unless this was done intentional. Funny comment was made by Jameson that we might take another ten years to do this The clock is ticking... Snowden is correct. This question has been lingering for a decade as our governments continue to regulate and sanction the crypto space. The day will come when this will be an emergency question. We need privacy blockchain solutions ready for a future that is adversarial to crypto. Projects like Iron Fish can be part of a private transaction movement away from transparent blockchains, which are vulnerable to restrictions of individual freedoms.

I was browsing the old web about bitcoin because reading old forums on bitcoin is so fascinating to me. Thats how i just found this platform. I was reading through conversation from 2011 and seeing people just throw around bitcoin not knowing its future value just blows my mind. I wonder where these people are today. I was searching up some of the wallets and it seems like most of the people emptied there wallets by 2012 probably during some of the first pumps. I also came across many old users that still have around like $50,000,000 in their wallets still but havent been active for years. I wonder if these wallets are abandoned. Man this blows my mind its like being in a time machine.
There are many stories of wealthy bitcoin elite who have passed away. These deceased crypto holders, and those who forgot or lost their wallets are an interesting deflationary feature of bitcoin. Imagine how much inherited crypto will be lost to the ages, and much that will lift the value of existing coin.

I'm still reviewing applications (although there are currently no open slots for heroes and legendaries).
But you can apply if you are satisfied with the position of Sr.
I am fine with SR. position if available.

That's the point of signature campaigns--contributors are paid to create content.
That some users do not get paid to post yet do it anyway is no cause to judge me. I can come up with relevant and interesting discusion that exceeds the quality of most users, a fact you would know if you examined my work. I don't have time to create content for free. Maybe you do, but that's your lost time.
"He will write under force and therefore will not meet some basic quality standards."
Perhaps read some of my forum posts from the last 60 days. Following that you might reconsider your baseless criticism. The irony here is that your post here is low-quality in itself, since it is a baseless criticism taking away from the discussion rather than adding to it.

The often-discussed topic of Bitcoin's immense energy consumption misses the potential for Bitcoin mining to stabilize and support renewable energy sources. Bitcoin miners can take advantage of hydropower, solar, or wind installations that have under-utilized and / or intemittent power grids.
Can we do more on the development side to subsidize miners running on green energy? How could this be implemented from a technical standpoint?
