The Townsville Cowboys are emulating the Bulldogs from last night. Minutes to go, the Tigers are making a valiant comeback but it won't be enough to win or draw making it their eighth loss in a row with a bye next week.

Final score 38 - 28 42 - 28 with the second game with the SeaEagles and Storm about to clash. (Had to correct it with a try at full time)

Later on, the Sea Eagles overcame a late comeback by the Storm to win 26 - 20 in a very gritty match.

I just logged in to say the Bulldogs have just scored a converted try and in the time it's taken me to log in, they've scored again to take the game to 24 - 12 over the Knights (which is good because they are my first pic this week).

Other pics are Cowboys, Storm, Roosters, Sharks, Eels, Broncos and the Redcliffe Dolphins.

I do agree the Tigers are capable of surprising the fans, but I'll go for the Cowboys.

The Eels is a similar situation as with the Sharks over the Panthers ,

And the Bulldogs have scored for a third time.

Your last couple of PM to me seemed to suggest your were retiring this UID. Have you changed your mind?

Seven from eight wins is very pleasing after such a dismissal start to the season. Cameron Munster is out for eight to ten weeks with a groin injury which looked as painful as it probably was. Munster is out for the entire stat of origin and puts Melbourne's prospects under a cloud.

The so called magic round was definitely a success with many people out and about in Brisbane (plus there was also the Women's first state of origin game as well as an AFL game at the Wollongabba Cricket Ground).

Yes, strange game indeed, but the Broncos dig deep in the weeks before the State of origin series as well as this week - the so called Magic Round is being played in Brisbane (all eight games).

My picks this week are raiders, Broncos, Knights, Sharks, Cowboys, Panthers, Storm and the Dolphins of course.

The Sharks are sitting at the top of the NRL ladder with the Dolphins in fourth place. It's becoming clear that the Sea Eagles along with the Bulldogs, Knights and Dragons are in a fourway tustle for the coveted eighth spot.

I see in your report the top of the English Rugby ladder has a very clear first, second and third place holders while so far in the Aust NRL ladder, the top seven are in close proximity points wise.

Tonight, the Women's teams of the NRL state of origin square off in Brisbane (being a native Queenslander, I'm biased towards the home team). This year, the women's game has extended to a best of three competition.

Yeh - five from eight wins over the weekend. I don't take much notice of stats such as the Titans having won their last five encounters with the Cowboys. I guess I'm going to have to start paying closer attention to such details.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours / Olympics on: May 11, 2024, 05:38:09 AM
Yes, inspite the loss of some key players, the Boncos are managing to get the job done. The Broncos had an early lead then prior to half time, the Eels caught up, but then never scored during the second half.

I'm listening to the Tigers Vs Knights game with the Tigers leading 6 - 4 in a rain soaked Tamworth venue. If this keeps up, the Tigers will win.

Your parlays seem to be very spot on, while mine are so far from the mark.

In round ten of the Australian NRL, I'm going with three games that are going against the money:

In fourth position are the Dolphins ($2.10) and I see no reason why they won't win tonight over the more favoured sea Eagles ($1.74) in a couple of hours.

Tomorrow, the Panthers ($1.17) should outplay the Bulldogs ($5.00) then I'm going with the Eels ($3.25) over the Broncos.
 ($1.35)
Saturday, I'm hoping the Tigers ($2.20) will improve their firm over the knights ($1.67). The Dragons ($1.48) should roast the Rabbitohs ($2.65) (despite one of their key players returning after a lengthy suspension). Then, in the third game, I'm picking the Sharks ($1.90) over the Storm. (Also sitting at $1.90)

Sundays double, I'm going with the Warriors ($3.80) to pluck the roosters ($1.27) then to finish off the round Townsville ($1.67) to send the Titans packing. ($2.20)

If the money is right, I've picked five out of eight.

I heard the Australian Women's team won their match, but that's all I've heard so far.

In the NRL five from eight with the Dolphin's win taking the sting out of the three losses.

I'm not at my desk, but call BS on FF who in the first example posts their details two months AFTER Leo.

I'm on my mobile phone and will check in about six hours time (after which I'll slap both with red paint for cheating bounties)...

Unless either can clarify what is really going on?

I was just listening to the news on the radio. Fijian Drua is expected to win their game this afternoon in the Super Pacifica Rugby comp.

Also in the same comp, the Rebels team have been offered a lifeline after having gone into administration earlier in the year. TBH, I've never been comfortable with these gimic names for teams that in some cases were formed to either fill the comp with teams, or to establish a team in a certain region.

Recently, there has been some noise about demerging the Western Suburbs (of Sydney) Magpies and Balmain Tigers (and to a lesser degree the Saint George Dragons and Illawarra Steelers (where there are massive Steel Factories))

Broncos Captain Adam Reynolds who just came back from a multiple week injury is now out for multiple months during last night's 18 - 40 loss to the Roosters. Reynolds' injuries weren't the only ones with a second Bronco out with a broken jaw in the same game.

Earlier, a missed two point field goal by the Sea Eagles captain saw them loose 24 - 26 in a very tight fame against the Canberra Raiders who has suffered a crushing loss lass week.

Thank you very much for trying to clarify that I and @ineedhelpplease are not alts

On the one hand it feels good that members like you are jumping in and trying to shed some light, but on the other hand you may not have done yourself any favors as members will attack you as they want you to post something negative against/about me.

I really thank you for this objective post, but maybe I should not thank you because it will provoke such members to attack you. I am sure you understand my point.

You're very welcome - you need to calm the f*ck down.

As to attacks - yeh Woke, thin skinned DT Trolls such as icopress who are trying to manipulate the DT system with their paranoia need to be called out when they are (quite often) wrong.  They are driving many users away from the forum - a hollow victory for the DT Trolls...

But like I said, you need to calm the f*ck down.

The first ten minutes of the Rabbioths game saw them score two converted tries and I got an "oh no" moment.  Then, by half time The Empire Panthers Struck Back to record a crushing 12 - 42 win.

Yeh, I've noticed the Dolphins are the underdogs.  I'm sure I had good reason for picking them - it'll come to me eventually.  In the meantime, the Broncos game will be dynamite just weeks out from the State Of Origin. (I haven't heard the news about Wayne Bennet who was the Broncos coach for many, many years).
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: May 03, 2024, 12:46:42 AM
I'm happy to see you motivated by our replies and effort, but you know there are several apps that you can learn how to do pushups from and can even act as a personal trainer or you can consider watching a YouTube video, it's not as hard as you think unless maybe some complex pushups that requires some experience from trainers, it's just an opinion advice it's also cool for you to meet a trainer.

Yeh, you can't get up close and personal with an app like you can with a personal trainer.  (sly wink)

I'll see if I can track down those suggestions too.

The reward you should be striving for is the noise your significant other makes when you take your shirt off.

Eww.. You need a shower!  Grin
