3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ⒺⓄⓈ - Request: EOS Cold Wallet Generator - ⒺⓄⓈ on: July 13, 2017, 11:53:18 PM
Hi guys,

I'm currently trying to find a cold wallet generator for my EOS. I don't want to keep them on exchanges.

Anyone know where I could find that ?

Thanks in advance ! Smiley

...
Yeah, you are right, but the current 220+ days for ROI is a really long time. Of course if the bitcoins skyrocket to 5000$ then that would be a very different story ! Smiley
Only in the crypto coin world would 'ROI' (and apparently defined here as purchase-price being recovered) in 220 days be called 'a long time'. Capital equipment purchased for any other business is usually looking at well over 1 year and more until break-even is reached... Why do you think we are allowed to write off cost of equipment/depreciation?
Plus, if in the USA there is this Section 179 IRS deduction

You are also totally right ! 220 days is fine for ROI, problem with ASIC is the devaluation that is really fast. And when I say 220 days, it is at current dificulty. So, it's a bit difficult to predict the real ROI. I prefer video card mining since when they don't produce anymore revenue by mining, they are still valuable and could be reused for gaming. ASIC become a waste really fast compare to video cards.
5  Economy / Services / Re: looking for programmers for help on: July 03, 2017, 11:06:58 PM
Maybe you should be a bit more specific on what "stuff" you would like to get implemented.

That would make it easier to make an approximation of the time needed for completion so you can get some quote.

Oh good idea i never thinked off that i will add what i might need in the post now thank you

Glad that my advice was helpful !

(At first I thought you were sarcastic in your reply but then I realised you really change the OP, sometime everything is just a question of perception)

Good luck in your project ! Smiley

7  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S9's sold out on: July 03, 2017, 07:07:43 PM
S9 is pretty old in term of ASIC. The current ROI is really high if you find one of those. They hardly make 10$ per days.

You must be really early in the game when it comes to ASIC miners...

S9's can't get old unless a better version comes out. S9's ROI time is low because bitcoin's price is not high enough.

Don't look at other mining hardware while making comparisons. Nobody would buy L3+'s If ltc was still 4$. Same goes for eth and gpu mining.

You'll never know when will btc take its market dominance back. What'll happen to those alts then?

8  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: NOOB QUESTION: Generating brain wallet offline on: July 03, 2017, 06:57:59 PM
I would not advise using brainwallet, they are bruteforcecrackable (Unless you use a 14+ char password, but it would be possibly crackable in the future).
9  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Dumb transaction question (Bitcoin mining is very expensive) on: July 03, 2017, 06:32:08 PM
You can't have two transaction validated in a double spending situation. The one with the highest fees will be validated first and the second one would be invalidated.

Nice minerjones, happy to see you creating your own coins now !

It certainly make me think about making a new series... I hope I'll find the time and energy to produce a new serie in the near future ! Smiley

Keep up the good work !
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is declining as top crypto currency. Why? on: May 31, 2017, 01:47:43 AM
Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and it's name is known by quite a big chunk of the population. Ethereum is almost unknown outside of the crypto scene. Also, Ethereum has no limit supply, so it's supply will grow by 10 millions ETH every years, causing a devalue of the currency over time.

Bitcoin will stay on top for a long time IMO.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people are asking you about Bitcoin now? on: May 26, 2017, 01:44:52 AM
I've iniciated quite a lot of peoples to Bitcoins since my first buy in 2013, but lately I have more and more peoples asking questions about it and I am always glad to help them get on the train ! Smiley
15  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Convert BTC to Paypal Profit on: May 26, 2017, 01:40:56 AM
Hey guys,
I want to convert some BTC to dollars in PayPal Balance so I can buy something else, since the shop doesn't offer crypto support.
Do you know a service which can transfer BTC to paypal credit, so I don't have to trade it manually back to fiat and then get it on my bank account again?
Best regards
Cart

I can buy your Bitcoins and make a PP transfert if you offer me a good price on them. Just PM me if you are interested.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We could have had 4mb blocks by now, with 8mb on the way. What happened? on: May 26, 2017, 01:38:00 AM

We need a concensus in order to make that happen, and right now, we are far from a concensus. There is only 20 major mining pool, and we would need 95% of them to accept the modifiaction in order to proceed. Miner are happy right now with the high fees and high profit, so we are somewhat screwed. (That is my understanding of the situation)
17  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is mining? Computer can mining? on: May 26, 2017, 01:33:16 AM
How much is the cost of a mining Rig or mining computer? It cost about 1000$  or more?  To all have mining rig can you reply how much is your mining  Rig #POWEROFBITCOINS

It depend on what you want to mine, if it is bitcoins, a computer is useless for that, you would need an ASIC miner and those are really expensive and by the time you get them the ROI is almost impossible. If you wanna mine Dagger Hashimoto (Ethereum for exemple) you can get a cheap computer and put some AMD RX 480 in it and make a small profit if your electricity is cheap (But for how long ? And also, if you can find one). It's not as easy as it use to be to mine these day.
18  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ‘Unprecedented’ Bitcoin Boom Sees Coinbase, Kraken Suffer Outages on: May 26, 2017, 01:29:20 AM
Kraken is always slow, it's a real shame, they should invest a bit on the server / bandwidht side. But today, it's a real joke, I had error over error loading pages and they took forever. I certainly hope they'll fix that.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 7 years ago... you could have earned almost $15,000 at today's value in 3 sec... on: May 26, 2017, 01:17:34 AM
Funny how life is Smiley 5 BTC for free in 3 sec... today people are working hard to earn 0.01 BTC

https://web.archive.org/web/20100703032414/http://freebitcoins.appspot.com/

Wow, nice find ! I whish I knew Bitcoin back then, I've learn about Bitcoins in 2011 but only invested in 2013, what a shame, lol Tongue
20  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where to buy Bitcoin currently? on: May 26, 2017, 01:04:24 AM
Having trouble getting verified on Kraken.. Waiting since a week...

Where else can I buy Bitcoin as European with Euros?

Without a long verification process...

If you wanna pay via paypal or credit card, you could use a service like VirWox, but the fees are pretty high. You can see a tutorial right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Bgs0OEQv7Q

It's pretty easy, safe and convenient. I've bought some there in the past without any problems.
