I just got in a few days ago (bought some of Lloydie's shares!) but I'm in for the haul. First time dealing with DZMC, but they've been honest, and respectable in their business dealings. "Scammers" would have bolted out a long time ago.
I stuck it out with BFL, and it paid off for me very well. Might as well let it ride.

There's a drug that's supposed to keep you awake. hehehe.. I got a whole bunch of them, but no, they are not for sale. Yes, it is legal. You should be able to find it.
Something tells me that crossing international borders with this would cause more problems than it would solve.

Nice! So by your estimate: how much money will you make when you shut the site down and take all of the coins? It'd be interesting to know.
No, but seriously. I hope it's not a scam. I never trust online wallets.
I hope that Coinbase eventually offers altcoins, as that's the only one I'd trust. It's something that's really needed (a multichain wallet of some flavor), but the amount of trust needed for it to be successful is insanely high.

As someone who has flown both US -> Australia and US -> Europe, I can also fully agree with this. Hell, I slept for three straight days when I first got to Ireland.
Seriously.

Waiting with baited breath
It's past midnight in London right now, so I wouldn't be expecting a post tonight unless he's a night owl. I think a more realistic time is in 12 hours or so.

I want to wait and see what Bob has to say after his trip before I vote for refund or not.
This. Let's all just calm down for a few days. There's still basically a full month before it was late anyways, so y'all are a bit premature with the torches and pitchforks.

I am quite interested in purchasing 1-2 shares of R17. Please PM me offers if you are looking to sell.

BTW and FWIW: the odds are good that one or more X-3s will still be bought by the DZ MC before shipping.
If possible, please send notification of the re-opening of this GB through the newsletter!

Here's hoping y'all get another machine or two. I was planning on buying some shares, but the payment system was down, and now it's closed. Alas.

Hashing on a pool, but not downloading the wallet until there's more consensus regarding safety. Too many virus hits for my liking this early.

I've seen a lot of both positive and negative comments circulating about Vircurex lately. Now that they've started "interest" payments to depositors, I'm more curious about the platform in general. Can anyone give me any tips pro or con regarding their experiences?
The interest thing tripped off a scam alarm in my head (as a deposited amount sitting in the account does nothing, really, to earn them any money), but I'm looking to know more before I pull the trigger. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Following development. Best luck! I may buy in depending on specifications.

Interesting proposal, but I recommend having the years be calculated as integers (or perhaps half-years). Floating rewards based as a function of difficulty _and_ day-to-day age combines to a very random mining scheme that would greatly favor pool-hopping.
The mining proposal method may also be seen as an inflationary coin until years in the future; as more people mine the coin, difficulty increases, pumping out even more coins. This could cause a massive inflationary spiral for the first year or two. Maybe it would be better to base "coin age" not from years of first block, but from number of blocks generated. This would be pretty easy to back-calculate into years, based on the 1 minute per block target.

Just re-read the rules... oops. Trying again! Ly4GLcbBJMY8SuYxoVrpVTwJ5vutKozzy2
Thanks a lot. I'd really like to get back some of the coins I lost last night. :-/

A tip to all the miners out there: I just lost about 60k LOT last night for not having auto-payout.
Don't make my mistake!

Huh. Was just thinking to myself last night that I should get in on some of this action. What exactly happened?

Will be keeping my eye on this as well. I've been telling people that a scrypt ASIC was only a matter of time...
Regardless, my main concern here is regarding release quantity, timeline accuracy, and pricing model. While these are theoretically much more energy efficient than current GPU mining setups, you can snag around 800 khs at around $400-500 (for the card). I'm afraid this might rely on a longer timescale to be profitable than ASIC mining recently offers.
But, as I said, I'm keeping my eye on it. Always looking to reinvest some of my mining earnings!

So far this looks like a incredibly heavy early-adopter coin. For example, the first few block rewards were 10 second target, with around 5000 coins per block. Now the target is around 10 minutes, and the reward is about 250/block. I've mined this coin at 7+ GH/s for a day, and I only have around 200 coins.
Judging from the mechanism, it seems that the more popular this coin becomes, the harder it will be to generate new coins. This seems to be a very sneaky pre-mine mechanism to me...
