Dear Community,need your help..
My name is Max,I live in Republic of Moldova.I'm 24 years old.A couple of months ago I've started to be interested in mining.I have made a farm with 3 video cards(SAPPHIRE R9 270X 2GB GDDR5) about 1.4 MH/s.Well,everything went well since a couple a days ago..My little brother(aged 20) was involved in kinda drugdealer(he was selling drugs).I know this is sh**ty kind of "business" i have told him a f*ckin thousand times that it is very dangerous and slicky thing.Well this happened,he was caught by cops,little dumbass,in his bag they found amphetamines,couple of extasy and marijuana.And by now he sits in jail until the criminal investigation is running.I sold my farm,my car in order to earn some money to pull him out there(as the majority of you should know that in this corrupted countries all of the cops,lawyers and prosecutors can be bought but with a lot of money).Our mother(dad has left us long time ago) is depressed,she don't know what to do and so on.Well we earned as many money as we could by selling everything that has some value.I am beggin' the community to help me in this kind of situation to help my little stupid brother,in order to donate some satoshi's as much as you can....
I understand it sounds like a fake or something but believe me it's not...It all depends on you if you believe or not..I don't know what else to do just try to request the community to donate as much as you can...Thank you for your attention and I hope that together we can help each other...

Hello, Community, I almost do not post in this thread but have been following DRK since late January. I am an adult, an investor and have so far invested around 30K USD into DRK. I love the product and if it is to be succesfull it will be based on its merits of offering value to its users, being Darksend and anonymity the most attractive feature and I hope there are more added in the future.
I am investing in the integrity of the DEV team, in the added value proposition of Darksend and in future additions like messaging, etc. The value of the coin is not in giving it away to miners as they see fit, the value is in offering benefits that bitcoin does not already offer to the intended end users, people like me, who don't mine. This is in my opinion the only altcoin that is offering something BTC does not to regular users. Other coins like Vert offer something to miners but it does nothing for me as an end user that BTC doesnt already do. So please DEV team, forget about complaining teenagers, show some respect for the people backing up this project and lets focus on adding features and benefits.
Finally, I will like to set up several master nodes, I lack the technical capability and time to do it myself but will be hiring somebody to do it for me. In that sense I would really appreciate a comprehensive guide on how to set up the master nodes, I think that would be a way better use of the time of the more technically inclined in this forum. Thanks

Focus is the key to success, without it we will dwindle into the ether of existence. Focus on what makes this project worth your time Evan, it will only produce results that compliment the effort. |

So I messaged Cryptsy about the price manipulation on Darkcoin. This is what they sent me today.
"Unfortunately, we do not have any rules against the use of bots. Many people use them and they are a part of trading crypto. Some exchanges even have bot counters right on main page. Bots are only as good as the person who programmed them, and I know many people who learn the bot and outsmart them, I figure it is a matter of time until someone kills that bot off. its funny how people that learned about bitcoin last 3 months keep talking about the price every single day. Why do you expect to get rich in a day, week or month?
Right now this coin is innovative, with probably a brilliant and dedicated dev but has nothing to offer except speculation since YOU CANT BUY ANYTHING WITH IT RIGHT NOW
How do you expect it to gain value without services, goods etc accepting it?
And because people believe in it they just keep it and dont even trade at exchanges. So with such small volume there is no gain of course even at exchanges...
I sold my Darkcoins in order to buy cheaper, which i did, and people here started talking about dumping. Its not dumping to trade the coin! its how trading goes. I gained 10% only with 2 trades that people considered dumping...
You should make services and companies accept it. Send emails. Even with dogecoin you can buy many things. With darkcoin right now you cant. And probably you wont until darksend is open source.
tl;dr: Make services, sites, companies, exchanges accept Darkcoin and it will flourish. Sell stuff for Darkcoins.Make people accept donations in Darkcoin. Trade Darkcoins on exchanges. Or just keep posting about price droping. The coin is good. Except if dev totally fails, which can happen of course, i trully believe it can reach easily 10m marketcap when a few sites starting accepting it as payment.
Yes these are valid points to consider. But, instead of sitting back and waiting for merchants to accept Darkcoin we should bring Darkcoin to them. We can do this very easily if someone has experience coding and is willing to put in a little work. 1. We can create a wordpress Darkcoin plugin for Woocommerce or Commerce Wordpress themed checkouts. (Similar to what Bitcoin has). If this existed it would drive a lot of merchants to use Darkcoin. 2. We can create a stand-alone API payment plugin for standard merchant sites that do not use Wordpress or Woocommerce. Does anyone have experience doing this kind of stuff that would want to take this on? Maybe there can be a bounty set for this by the person who controls the promotion fund. |

As the first anonymous coin, shouldn't the price be higher? It's getting frustrating seeing it so stagnant after I have continually sunk so much money into it. At first glance it looks like price manipulation, but I could be wrong. Anyone else want to chime in on this?
I think that a lot of people don't actually believe DarkSend will work. Once it's -proven- to work people will change their minds and some momentum can be gained. Going along with that DarkSend needs to be secure and it can NOT be vulnerable to attacks. Evan is obviously working to ensure this but again it's not really -proven- to defeat attacks against it yet. If it truly works, and resists the attacks that will be thrown at it, well...that will be a good day for DarkCoin. Thank you for your informative reply! |

I like the vector version way better than the original. The dirt smudges on the coin in the 3D image is a bit off-putting. If those were cleaned up, it would look a lot better. Maybe darkening the navy blue a bit more too would help.

If I had lost a lot to this guy, I would just find a hacker on deep net to ruin him. Thievery from this community of mainly middleclass citizens is not cool. Say what? Thievery isn't cool no matter what "class" of person gets stolen from... Yes but even less "cool" if it's from people who don't have a lot to begin with. Stealing from rich has that Robin Hood stigma to it, even though it is bad, I would say it's not as bad as stealing from poor or middleclass people. That's my own opinion though. |

So I'm asking about total amount to estimate if there would other similar dumps appear.
yesterday was like 40 000 DRK , days before that similar, so it's gotta be over 100k DRK If the 300BTC figure is correct at .002 (a low estimate) would give this person about 150k. If you add up all the big dumps @ Polo it ends up being about 160k (obviously these probably aren't 100% his because it's the general volume figure). It feels like there can't be much left (if any) for this guy to dump. If I had lost a lot to this guy, I would just find a hacker on deep net to ruin him. I heard that the inside of the C - CEX BTC appeared problem, according to the number of is you actually have a lot of times, but can't extract, so should be extracted to switch to other COINS

This is quite an ambiguous situation for investors. Should we sell now before GPU miners start to dump their coins and the price will go down? Or should we wait for the announcement of new feature test results when the price will probably increase? Which will come first? Haven't decided yet.
I dont get the argument of why people mining with gpus are more likely to sell them than those mining with cpus. It's a matter of volume. I was mining DRK with CPU, getting some 250-300 KH/s, around 12 DRK a day. Not thinking about selling because I really want to see the concept implemented, but with those rates, at current prices, the profit is small and less tempting to cash out. This perspective changes if you multiply the results by 5-10+ when using a decent GPU. Also the difficulty rises faster and CPU miners are slowly moved out of the picture. I'm personally a little disappointed since one of the two things that made DRK interesting for me as announced (CPU only) turned out to be false. But I'm not selling and will follow developers work. I agree. I kind of gave up on mining since the GPU release I noticed the amount of coins I was making drop quite a bit. I loved the fact that it was CPU only, but now it is just one of many GPU coins. But, I'm holding what I have. |

Really lame to see shitty/useless coins like lemon (yes, offense) get a thousand votes. Marketing mostly I imagine. I think a couple minor things are deterring new visitors away from this coin. one being, the release date that is still posted on the first page/post. This confused me at first cause the date had already passed, so I thought the development team had moved onto other things. Luckily I read the whole thread instead of glancing at just the first post. But, unfortunately most people do this. |
