At microcenter they send the open box stuff out for testing before they put it up for sale. There were no other cards to buy, I would of bought brand new if I could. They'll even sell me an extended warranty on it, so I don't care. I ended up getting an open box evga 2080 ti kingpin, got the rig up and running yesterday. Thank you again for the help
A quick advice here mate next time don't buy a computer equipment that has broken seal or that have been opened before, it is very risky moreover there are many online stores you can order gpus from like Amazon or newegg or even eBay, pay for the goods and let them ship is right your doorstep is not hard at all

With the stratospheric rise of Bitcoin the altcoins should move big time as well. But they do not and will not move, as all the institutional money is pouring into bitcoin. We won't see a "year of the altcoins" for a very long time, at least not before bitcoin has reached one million.
It depends on the Altcoins you are holding, if none of the Altcoins you are holding are showing good sign then you are holding shitcoins all along, it's not too late you can sell now and buy better coins I recommend top altcoins like polkadot or chainlink

You have some cleaning to do, once dirt find their way into PC components you could think they aren't working anymore, do not be fooled though, clean the pcie slots and also the gpu pins too, I'm sure the card will be running again in no time

I'm in gains already, I don't hold just a single token which can make me feel unsatisfied, I have many and I'm making ROI from most of these altcoins, isn't thats all that matters? Any profits from 20% I would gladly sell and take profit, this bull season won't last forever, stop fooling yourselves

You can call Tron an outdated coin but it's the main reason why I'm in for this bull season, I can transact with ease unlike Ethereum that sucks the hell out of me, I've spent over 300$ on Ethereum gas fee only and only Tron network makes gas fee more easier for me, it's a Top altcoin and that matters

Doing Altcoins research is very important because right now, so many Altcoins are in circulation. A very important rule so far is:
Don't buy outdated and overvalued coins!
A coin needs to be innovative to be a successful coin. So far, projects are unfolding in several phases:
- Vision Project develops a vision / whitepaper - Trial Project tries to deliever a solution based on "vision" / product development starts - Result Project is presenting evidence (after development) if it's working or not
Most projects fail in phase "Trial" because it didn't work and team can't deliever. After no innovative result was presented, some projects start to get lower expectations and switch assumptions. Development takes ages and a good product is always only "promised" but will never come. Now, marketing will take over a large part instead of real progress. Marketing is done to hide failures and present very litte progress as a huge success.
And finally, it will result in an outdated and overvalued coin. It's often very similar! And we need to know to stop buying such coins because price will go down later.
Outdated and not innovative coins so far:
- Bitcoin Cash - Bitcoin SV - Cardano - EOS - Tron - NEM ...
We should instead decide for new, innovative coins:
- Ethereum 2.0 - Avalanche - Cosmos - ChainLink ...
Having a look at development history is a very important part of doing our own research!
Can't say much about bitcoinSV but every other altcoins you made mention are popular and active altcoins, they are no way undervalued and outdated, instead you start talking about Ether 2.0, what do you think makes ETH2.0 different? Avalanche is a new altcoin and we can't say what the future holds for the project, sometimes old projects are just way better

Nicehash miner is never accurate right from the start, they are paying too less for hashrates, in your case you are mining the wrong algorithm for your graphic cards, beam is a big nice for 104-100 graphic cards, use whattomine or minerstat calculator instead
|
|
|
Phoenix miner stopped working through Nicehash no matter what I tried, just only on my AMD rigs, still working on the Nvidia rigs so using NBminer makes me lost few hashrate because NBminer don't have rxboost mode configured, is there any other miner that has this rxboost implemented?
Gminer is working for me with rx boost. Are you using gminer? Is this gminer present in nicehash mining software? I'm looking for this rxboost too but no luck so far, phoenix miner stop working on nicehash and the team haven't update the new phoenix miner yet

Crypto is a money making tool for short term only, this is the way many viewed the whole idea, companies takes years to grow but in just two years you can become a millionaire if you build a token with a good use case even if you later plan to abandon the whole thing so my friend don't expect devs in crypto space to be damn serious, just do research and go for stronger projects only
|
|
|
My main concern is about future investment.... My ADA is a looong term hold no doubt about it. But as I wonder about how high peaked we may or not be in this bull market, I wonder if I should be selling any of these other ones off as soon as Im up a bit to play it safe, and keep the money on standby for if bitcoin and the whole market take a real good dip soon. I remember the last time bitcoin spiked like a mother, and it didnt last too long...
You want some advice? Don't be greedy, when there is profits do not hesitate to take because crypto is unpredictable, we can never tell what will happen next, some people did same mistakes in 2017 and early 2018 and they got trapped, forcing to hold for years, do not be a victim like they were
|
|
|
Things are different this year because crypto adoption is of high rate right now so bitcoin isn't going to go down like the dump off in 2018, the real crypto accumulation starts in 2021 and it's going to go for long time

Hi,
Can anyone point me into the direction of the latest altcoin mining info?
I did a bit back in 2013 by mining a lot of altcoins through a couple of GPU rigs, doge, meme, main, quark and many more that I can't remember because I lost them all when Cryptsy folded. I had around 2 mil in Dogecoin alone and another 1.4 BTC worth of other alt coins but lost interest when I lost them all.
I am potentially looking to get up a and running again but the landscape looks verrrry different now.
Is it still worth it or is the difficultly too high?
Is mining low value coins still going on or are most resources now directed at the established GPU mined coins, albeit at much higher difficulty?
Any new coins on the horizon that may be worth a punt?
Much appreciated
To mine coins right now you will be spending hundreds on dollars on graphic cards or asic miners and the fact is these graphic cards have doubled in price since mining became profitable again, I'm not sure you are up for that yet, also even I you have old GPUs most new miners have abandoned many already eg hd7970 and others

Amazon don't need it, the coin might be well adopted for on the long run things will go way down, people don't need new altcoins for shopping online anymore because there are so many options that fits into this part very well, people prefers bitcoin and Ethereum over many new altcoins, why can't amazon just start accepting these coins as payment ?
|
|
|
Sorry never going to happen, do you know what people stay away from solo mining? Because it can take years to solve a block on your own that's why miners have to come together and solve a block and share the reward among themselves

How will OP reset bios when he got no display? If fan keeps spinning and stopping in seconds then there is no display, it looks like a corrupt BIOS, it seems that motherboard have dual bios so find a way to re activate the back up bios, do a search on youtube about this

Trex is one of the best miners out there, it's standing side by side with phoenix miner in performance, I don't understand why you call it crap, are you even sure it's trex miner issue and not your windows 10 OS?
I can't comment on Trex because I haven't used it, but what would Windows have to do with it? I haven't had a single issue, and my hashrates and power usage are actually better with Windows than they were with HiveOS. When I had issues with poolside 'current' numbers, it was always related to the O/C settings. I believe the 1080ti needs an increase to the clock speed too, not just the memory. Windows OS have everything to do with loss of hashrates when updates get into your system without you knowing until you restart your PC, when I couldn't find a effective way to deactivate windows 10 update I've reload the whole OS just to get my normal hashrate back

4.2MH/s kawpow, so around $0.5 per day mining ravencoin /team red miner) Probably more possible, didn't play enough with that algo
Edit: 6.5 after few minutes tweaking, so $1 per day
On RX580? Why kawpow Algorithm because that rx580 graphic card can give you up to 3$ per day and even some times it goes over 3.5$ per day, stick with Ethereum, the mining profit is just way better than any other coins right now How can I stick with ethereum on rx560? Here where I live I can buy 6 or 7 used RX560 instead one RX580/8GB That depends on what the seller used the graphic cards for before selling, if he or she is a miner like yourself do not buy those cards because they might start dying on you, again RX580 is better because more cards doesn't mean more profits, rx560 has 2gb or 4gb and not Profitable for eth mining anymore

For nvidia graphic cards anything up to 75°C is safe temp i heard but to get your ROI back easily you must try to keep the graphic cards working at a cool temp, I will start worrying if my graphic cards reach 70°C, also thermal pads works, I put some on my rx580 8gb card and it brings the temp down

I won't dare compare DeFi projects with btc, the difference is big, I think DeFi projects like DOT and Aavax are better compared to Ethereum and also Polkadot has polkastarter which works like smart contract too, these projects are so good but can't be compared to bitcoin
|
|
|
Since you talked about new DeFi project there is no need to mention the best DeFi projects right now, check out AnRkey, inverse and option room, it's better to do research first but all these projects met my own standard, this isn't a investment advice though, dyor
