i hate to be a negative influence but what the hell, the internet is a playground

and so is life, just think about how easy it will be to pay everyone back when you hit it big on a dice site, not to mention all the hookers and blow you can handle

i avoid using my brain when i can

anyone know roughly what the next diff increase % has to be for a sell div?

thanks/sry
5  Economy / Securities / Re: [Havelock] Bitcoin Difficulty Derivative (BDD) on: July 20, 2014, 09:13:37 PM
Thanks for trying to answer, but it still only leaves me with more questions. My original question (rephrased): Are we going to have to wait until a new 200 days begins (brand new) then to get paid dividends from B-Sell? I understand from what I read of the difficulty scenario that there needs to be an 11.5% increase....but that does not provide an answer as to what is needed to get there. Yes there needs to be an increase, I think everyone can see that....BUT HOW? What is needed? What can be done? Are you not mining bitcoin 24/7...so why is there no 11.5% increase?  Huh

roughly speaking, at the difficulty increase (determined by bitcoin protocol, http://bitcoinclock.com when the minute hand reaches 12), if there are more than 200 days worth of mining payouts at 5Gh/s per mine share, then the extra is paid out to sell.  for the current difficulty, it would take a ~11.5% difficulty increase to cause mining payouts to be small enough for the reserve to exceed 200 days.

no mining is actually being done by the fund, and the fund has no effect on the hashrate of the network.

(unless i'm doing it wrong)
6  Economy / Securities / Re: [Havelock] Bitcoin Difficulty Derivative (BDD) on: July 02, 2014, 12:42:56 PM
maybe the last difficulty jump was the deathblow for a bunch of older farms and they're being shut down

although asic "burn in" is probably more likely, the incentive is there to jack up the difficulty and suck up all the early adopter advantage before shipping

Ubuntu jumped the shark a few years ago, Linux mint would probably serve you far better.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=62842.0

the reinvestment portion could be taken from immature coins so as to not disrupt dividend payout while things get going

USB flash drives that can house the entire blockchain + OS necessary for p2pool are around 50 bucks (for the fancy ones)

even if you don't care about this from a morality standpoint, it would be a nice marketing angle

"merged mined!  0% fees!  cloud mining without the evil!"

edit:  wrong link

not to mention the goodwill of infusing p2pool with so much hashpower, i'm sure a reddit post about moving x petahash to p2pool would get some attention

k, so go ahead.
9  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - NEW IPO, NEW HARDWARE, 1,500 TH/S HASH RATE on: June 08, 2014, 07:20:59 AM
bitcoin's failure as a decentralized service will probably make worrying about dividends paid in bitcoin seem a little silly.  if we're all truly blinded by this level of greed, i guess we deserve it.  bring on ghash coin.

If bitcoin requires it's participants to "play nice", it already failed. If large pools present a problem, the protocol needs to penalize large pools, or at the very least not make it beneficial to be in one.

sweet, so in the meantime let's prove how foolhardy we can really be

so how do you guys feel about contributing to a 51% attack on the bitcoin network for a streamlined interface?
12  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - NEW IPO, NEW HARDWARE, 1,500 TH/S HASH RATE on: May 28, 2014, 12:44:53 PM
It was passed unanimously 60%-0%.  But you knew that already since you voted, or did you?

Enough with accusations. The market was open for several days prior to this offering. If you wanted to sell your units you had plenty of time as the price was risng. If you still want to sell PM us and we will try to find you a buyer.

Where is the evidences that these those who owne the more than 5% received this informations?. It is only your word so far!!
Supposedlly there are maximumme of 30 shareholder who see this informations!
Perhaps Nobody owns more than 5%? Could this be the convenient excuse to escape the 'ALL shares have the voting rights' clause!!

And all are looking at each other with shifty eyes -_- to see who are the ones who have 5% or more.  it cannot be themselfes so who can it be?. who can prove this? Shocked
What man can step forward to explain otherwise!!!

Why do we hear about this only this days Huh cryptx or havelock were silent on this subject till now.

And above all where in the contract was stated that only the shareholders that owns more than 5% have the right to vote?
You say that I'm making accusation but I'm just asking questions. If you have an answer please do share it, but don't say to me (and I quote) "enough". Is this your final atitude?

ok, go ahead and vote.  you can even write it out on a peice of paper if you want.
13  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] SCRYPT 10 GH/s hosted scrypt mining project by CRYPTX - IPO 7 MAY on: May 25, 2014, 05:11:29 AM
waiting for some explaining regarding a long term strategy..why not using a good multipool for mining?

shareholders awaiting an answer :-)

probably because multipools rarely make more than mining litecoin directly anymore

http://poolpicker.eu/

he'd be switching multipools endlessly in order to make more than LTC and i'm sure it wouldn't be worth the time

time for a meta-multipool

i know a sociopath;  i had no idea it was a real thing until i met him.  i don't take anyone's word for it about the character of a person, and very rarely am i disappointed with that policy--but he was one.

never let them get into rapport with you.  stay in pure logic mode, and remember it's always a manipulation.  i fear for my life.

anyway, too bad about this thing.

http://blog.rockminer.com/#!/2014/04/13/Testing_Results_Of_BE200.md

Testing Results Of BE200

We've got the results of one good testing board,it seems not  good, but sill can be accepted. We will receive more chips at next weekend if things are going well .

Results:

Board:one chip testing board
Frequency:360Mhz
Volt:0.72V
Hashrate per chip:11.52Ghash
Power consumption:6.375W per chip
Power consumption per Ghash:6.375/11.52=0.5539W/Ghash
After power supply changeover:0.5539/81% = 0.684W/Ghash(at blade)
Power consumption on wall:0.684/0.8 = 0.855W/G
Adding other components loss about 1KW/Thash
Tips:this result is not very accurate just for reference.

the IPO happened before the run up to $1000

that means most of the BTC raised were worth several times more than what he asked for

despite that, it still resulted in "liquidity problems" a month in from the storefront opening

he filed the change of director paperwork days before his congressional meeting, promised a financial report (already a quarter late), sent out bizarre (drunken?) tweets, then vanished

he shows up for a minute or two, used his daughter as an excuse, and claims that the reports will account for stuff, and vanishes again

this is a sociopath, clearly a 'person' with no conscience (can you imagine publicly claiming your own child is getting death threats as an excuse? even if she were, people don't do this), and he's following the wrap up text book style--delay until it fizzles out.  i wouldn't be surprised if he collaborated with ukyo for a double whammy-scammy.  ukyo is probably just the more sadistic type, and likes dangling a carrot on a stick.

so, the die-hards don't find it weird that even the "compliance officer" apparently can't get ahold of danny?

Source?
(sorry if I missed it)

it's an assumption

unless you're implying that he can, and mr brewster doesn't think it's anything he needs to make a comment on

so, the die-hards don't find it weird that even the "compliance officer" apparently can't get ahold of danny?

cause presumably if he could, we'd have a statement by now

i'm sure this behavior from neo can be recovered from though, the company's foundational premise doesn't revolve around reliability and trust or anything

sorry

Meh, It still is possible that it is just noise. Has banker suicide gone up, or are we just making a big deal about normal happenings?

Thanks, you helped ease my paranoid imagination.

As long as Karpeles faces the criminal charges he deserves (negligence or otherwise), I'd say bitcoin will be just as strong as ever in short order.

And if he doesn't, that just means bitcoin has "made it."  Watch all the other billion-dollar fraudsters hop on board.
