I read the article about badbios and would like to present a possible solution to these problems.
To address the speaker/microphone avenue of communication, I recommend the raspberry pi model A. A model A has 256mb of ram, which happens to be the same as the minimum requirements to run armory offline. In addition, since the model A doesn't have wifi or an ethernet port, you won't do are less likely to do anything stupid, like connect it to the internet.
Now that you have a computer that is next to impossible to connect to the internet, you need a way of communicating with the outside world to sign transactions.
I'm not sure if this is possible at the present time, but it seems to me that the best way to do this would be through qr codes of some sort--I'm not smart enough to make this work, so that is a slightly fuzzy part of this suggestion.
If you want to go the uber-paranoid rout, you could use an external battery pack to power the pi, which completely isolates the pi from any possible source of malware.
I think that this system would be as secure as it gets, but if I anything I said is wrong, I'm sure you'll let me know.

Total receipt of taxes in the USA is about $3 trillion a year. The number of citizens in the USA is about 300 million. That means if you simply, gave all the money from taxes to each, equally: Each citizen would get $10k from taxes, apart from their private earnings.
This would free people from having silly jobs, coming up with a highly productive and liberated society.
I hope that you aren't this stupid. If you are, you shouldn't be allowed to vote.

I find this thread interesting. I have a small forum that I run and have asked for donations to pay for the hosting fees. Once I accumulated enough for the year I asked to cease donations. Is this forum just stashing money away from donations to pay for hosting services of course and for what else? If you guys have so much bitcoin and you are looking to divide it up because you have so much you really don't need to continue to take donations anymore, do you? Unless you are personally profiting your pockets with the donations. And this site also had advertisements on top of that. Looks like this forum is a money making machine here.
Remember, at one point, BTC100 was worth less than $100. Now that same BTC100 is worth ~$6,200.

$100,000 on forum software are you guys insane?
What an asinine waste of money. Sure the forum needs better software, maybe a dedicated server, possibly better database backend etc. Hopefully SOME of the funds will be used for that in an intelligent and planned fashion over the coming year (not yeah we are rich lets buy a bunch of random expensive crap). Still you can't possible think this forum needs $100,000 in hardware and software upgrades. So regardless there is some portion of those funds which the forum couldn't possibly use this year and probably would be based to store securely for the long run. theymos said something about cold storage of ~2,000 BTC. Not lock up every penny and never spend anything to improve anything.
I mean how can that seem like a bad idea to you?
What the hell? This forum is NOT on a dedicated server? Is it in AWS or other "cloud" hosting?

Vernon715 is correct, we've been around since 1872 (originally writing fire insurance policies, back then the fire departments were privatized and wouldn't put your house out unless it had fire insurance ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) ). However I did find that link very useful, especially with the information about the Bitcoin WOT. I'll be updating our website to show that we accept Bitcoin as soon as I get a chance. Thank you for the advice so far! I wanted to make sure that people understood that this isn't a new business.

I will hold it for free.
In fact, I will even pay a 7% interest rate.

Here are a few rules which you should keep handy as they have served me well.
1) TRUST NO ONE! 2) READ #1 AGAIN 3) NEVER EVER LEND BTC (PERIOD) 4) REMEMBER BTC IS A RISKY INVESTMENT AND YOU SHOULDN'T FULLY RELY ON IT, OR, IN MILDER WORDS (JUST TO PLEASE THE FANS) NEVER PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET. 5) READ #1 AGAIN
Now that we established that and it's clear... let's talk about unfair treatment:
Do you really think people with higher post counts are idiots? Remember they were newbies too. Also, we are talking about having higher post count? Really??? Does that entitle people with higher post count to bragging rights? If so, then allow me to tell anyone with a higher post count that IT'S AN INTERNET FORUM!!! GET A LIFE!!! There's absolutely no reason for anyone to "brag about" being a hero member or higher... If you're a CEO of a fortune 500 company, fine, you can brag about it, if you're an All-Star Athlete, sure, go ahead. Are you a US Senator? Awesome, you can also brag about it. Do you have two PHD's? Amazing! Are you a Hero Member? LMFAO, please don't even try it. The community will give you the respect you deserve for being a long BTC supporter, but don't even dare to "brag" or belittle anyone in this forum because you don't really have any position of power nor authority. The most you'll get is a laugh from someone, in many cases, smarter than you. Just use the golden rule and everyone will be fine. Remember, we are all in here because we support and we believe in this emerging currency.
are we allowed to brag about being a senior member??? Sorry. Bragging rights are for hero members only. Darn. thanks for clearing that up anyways.

Hello, I am the system admin for Beauchamp McSpadden, an insurance company based out of Indiana. I have been discussing Bitcoin with the owner of the company, and he decided that we could begin accepting bitcoin for insurance payments. We sell nearly every form of insurance (home, auto, health, life, commercial, umbrella, equine, etc.) and are licensed in all states with the exception of Alaska. Even if you are currently with a major carrier (Progressive for instance), you can transfer the policy to us and begin paying your premium via bitcoin. Our website (I am aware that it needs much work) is http://www.bmins.com, and I will be adding a section about bitcoin soon. Our primary headquarters are at 231 W. Canal Street, Wabash, IN 46992, and our phone number is (260)563-8821. I am looking for a few people to be our first bitcoin clients. While I am a system admin and not a producer/CSR, it would be best to contact me via email at kerwin@bmins.com if you are interested, or extension 2192 as no one else has worked with Bitcoin yet (I hope to change that soon!). I will get you in touch with one of our CSRs who will get the best insurance rate possible for you, and if it's worth it for you to switch, I'll send the premium invoices via Coinlab and the rest of the process will be identical to if you were paying with cash. If this turns out to work well for everyone involved, I'll make the process more automated, but for now we would like to just work with a few clients to test the process. Please let me know if you are interested, our rates are actually very good (at least in my experience, my dental/auto/life is with us). Thank you for reading, if you have any advice (such as a better alternative to Coinlab), suggestions, or would like to receive a quote and possibly be one of the first clients, please let me know. Ken Erwin - kerwin@bmins.com, 260-563-8821x2192 ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Consider this too. You know, it would be helpful if you actually looked at their website before you started posting links to warnings about starting a bitcoin business. As far as I can tell, they are a business that is adding bitcoin support. Please do your research first.

Another question: if they are shipped why we are not seeing any significant growth of the computation power?
We have seen a growth, but not all units have arrived yet, so we should see a big spike in a week or so.
