Overstock is just like any other site. Sometimes they have good deals and sometimes not.

Truth right there. If I'm looking for something specefic I'll usually check out overstock first since I can pay them BTC directly. If it ends up that i buy on amazon I usually use gyft!

Ohh so you buy a Amazon gift card on gyft with BTC and then use that gift card to purchase your item from Amazon.  Smart.

Does anyone else have input?? I the lack of education may put handcuffs on the blockchain industry restraining it from reaching its full potential in the next five years.

There MUST be more education outlets or certification firms?!?!?!
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ?QUESTION? DOES ANYONE USE THE FUELCOIN DESKTOP WALLET?!? on: October 19, 2015, 05:20:39 PM
I was recently reading this article by newsbtc.com (http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/09/30/in-talks-with-encrypted-labs-ceo-ian-worrall/) about that altcoin called FuelCoin.  Looks like they have recently made a desktop wallet that is supposed to have a trading platform within the wallet.  But it sounds like the desktop app only has FuelCoin trading capabilities.

Few questions:
Has anyone tried this wallet?
Does anyone know more about the company behind it?
Should we trust it?
Is it good?
Do you know anything else about FuelCoin?

Also I found out where to download it.

There's also a free introductory MOOC at the University of Nicosia, Introduction to Digial Currencies.
http://digitalcurrency.unic.ac.cy/free-introductory-mooc
That looks pretty cool.  Thanks Cyrus I'll check it out!

I guess it depends on how deep you want to go. There are free courses like this out there - https://www.coursera.org/course/bitcointech but I dunno how obvious a lot of it might sound to you.

Are you looking for a formal qualification? If so I'm not sure if there's all that much out there. I think the university of Cyprus were offering a digital currency masters but haven't heard much since it popped up a while ago.

There's also this but don't have the slightest clue who they are or what it means - https://cryptoconsortium.org/certifications/CBX

Hey Thanks gentlemand!   Have you taken any of these courses or know anyone who has?
9  Other / Beginners & Help / TRYING TO FIND BLOCKCHAIN EDUCATION!?!?? on: October 18, 2015, 09:32:04 PM
I have been looking around lately to find reliable Blockchain education programs.  Although I found a few they are generally expensive and I would like to see if anyone else has taken courses before and can recommend a program.  I would like to learn everything from the basic architecture to high level development because I hope to get a job in the field down the road

Can anyone help me?!? Huh Huh Huh
10  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ??Is Overstock.com a good place for BTC users?? on: October 18, 2015, 09:15:14 PM
They just borrowed $10 million via bitcoin's blockchain, i think they'll support bitcoin even further
But, just like other sites, they also have good & bad offers

There are other company who accept bitcoin, such as Dell & Microsoft too.

Its good that dell accept bitcoin and i used to buy tons off stuff from them in the naughties but now i generally have found cheaper ways to get compuying equipment most of the time on ebay.

Have you found sellers on Ebay that accept Bticoin?
11  Economy / Service Discussion / ??Is Overstock.com a good place for BTC users?? on: October 17, 2015, 08:52:35 PM
Hey guys.  So I have been doing a lot of research trying to find a reliable place to buy many items with bitcoin.  I know that overstock accepts BTC right now and it's not bad but I want to see what you think.  Comment your full opinion if the survey doesn't fit what you want to say.

-Thanks! Grin
12  Economy / Service Discussion / ??SHOULD I TRUST PURSE.IO?? WHO IS BEHIND IT?? on: October 17, 2015, 05:21:46 AM
Hey so I have been looking around lately for e commerce locations to buy items with bitcoin.  I found this website thecryptostore.com that seems to be under construction.  I also heard about purse.io a app that connects bitcoin owners and people willing to buy you something with their card on amazon.  Has anyone used this purse.io?  Is it trust worthy?  Is it fast?

Does anyone know of anywhere else besides overstock.com?  I hate buying stuff from those big sites.

Hoping the trend holds.   I'd like to see 300s before 2016
It was at 300, then dropped to 200 so this is not progress at all.

Well it is fluctuating much less than it did last fall... Also, If you get in at 200 and sell at 260 that is huge progress and a gain.
That's settling for less. Why settle for 200 when you can have 1,000....I don't understand.

That spike will likely never happen again though.  That was back when BTC was heavily traded.  Now everyone is holding on to it and not trading that's why its so stable.  Sucks for investors but good for a legit currency.   Let me know if you disagree.
I disagree, sorry. I want it to be 1,000.

I will attempt to hold about 10 coins.

I will hold it for 2 years...

If I don't get 10,000 for just sitting around in 2 years, I'm done. Because in two years, I would have done every single trick I could in my book to promote bitcoin. I can do a lot alone, but this is the one act that I cannot do alone. Everyone has to fight with me, or we should just stop playing with these coins, and our futures because waiting and hoping for our situation to get better is just not going to happen.

I like the passion, I feel the same way.  I do the same but I sell and buy here and there to make some cash.  But you see, because of the constant mining the price will only increase if more people join the movement.  But when mining finished, the price will grow exponentially.

16  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has anyone else heard of this website claiming to sell stuff and accept bTC??? on: October 17, 2015, 12:09:50 AM
If you mean thecryptostore.com then the domain is whois protected for me a big no no to start with.

Secondly its under maintenance so would just ignore tweets and definitely not attempt to buy anything from there.

Probably just another scam.

Yeah I meant thecryptostore.com.  What do you mean "the domain is who's protected."  They say "coming soon" on the twitter account.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC PRICE GOIN UPPPPPP!!! on: October 17, 2015, 12:02:43 AM
I've checked the price of Bitcoin 4-5 times a day for months.  Volume spiking too.  Nice to see it finally starting to move

I'm on the same page!!
18  Economy / Service Discussion / Has anyone else heard of this website claiming to sell stuff and accept bTC??? on: October 16, 2015, 11:51:00 PM
So this thing called the crypto store has been all over my twitter fee the past few days.  Their twitter page says that they accept bitcoin and offer a ton of stuff but every time I go to their website thecyprtostore.com it is in maintenance.  Does anyone know if this is something old an deserted or if it is new.  Does anyone know who is making it either?  Here is the twitter: https://twitter.com/The_CryptoStore

19  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC PRICE GOIN UPPPPPP!!! on: October 16, 2015, 11:33:34 PM
This is awful because last time I checked, 1 single bitcoin was 360 dollars.....

So it went down, then went up.

The Last time Bitcoin was $360 or higher was December of 2014.... Been awhile
Bottom line is: That's awful. It did not go up.

If the price goes up between the time of purchasing and selling then yes it did.  That is what you call a profit margin, and I'm in the green dude.
