1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase's latest video about Pizza Day on: May 22, 2024, 08:21:09 PM
What a really smart ad from coinbase!

At first it hooks you in with the very fast-paced and somewhat hectic nature of the video. Then it makes you confused. At first, I thought they were just gonna show how bitcoin can be used to buy pizza but it wasn’t entirely about bitcoin at all. The video is correct and this is literally what happens with our money. It’s a fun way of discussing something worth addressing. Kudos to Coinbase!
2  Economy / Economics / Re: Better Money: Gold, Fiat, Or Bitcoin? on: May 22, 2024, 08:16:14 PM
What he meant was that bitcoin is unpredictable. It could go higher, or not. He doesn't say it won't, but we can't be certain of that.
And that is one of the risks in investing in bitcoin. Us, investors, know that bitcoin is volatile yet we still all invest in it because the benefits far outweigh the risks. You just need to try and manage the risks as best as you can so that you lose minimally and earn the maximum profit.

People need to realize that while bitcoin can give you profit, it can give you losses too. It doesn’t mean that it’s already a bad investment though.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: End of Bitcoin on: May 22, 2024, 08:07:29 PM
you can do that with any transaction that is in mempool and has made public key public.
If I give you two numbers and ask you to add them together will you do it at the same speed with all numbers?
For example does it take you the same amount of time to add 3 and 2 together as it takes you to add 334212132454779 + 675456421213132457964?
And these numbers aren't even big!

It's the same in Elliptic Curve Cryptography.
If you can solve ECDLP in a short time when the key range is tiny, that doesn't mean you can do the same when the key range is ginormous like 2256. That's what the puzzle keys people are finding are, small keys in a tiny range compared to the max range of 2256.

Well, for computers it is fast:

1. selecting second number is fast, it can be pool of 10^9 numbers which will be operated in less than a second
2. multiplying this second number with known one is one instruction for CPU, so still under one second
3. then comparing to known value is still one instruction for CPU
4. if we have hit (still under one second, two at most) we have private key, there are only miliseconds to broadcast new tx with balance coming right to us

So we can do that for all mempool txs with multithreaded CPU below few seconds, where we have time of about 10 minutes when the tx will be a fact.
That’s not realistic at all.

Even with the most advanced computer, it can’t possibly find the correct combination with a possibility of 2^256 combinations. Just the amount of possibilities is enormous that if you just look for it without any logic, it would be very difficult to do so.

10 minutes to do probably with a supercomputer but then it would have been so expensive as you’d probably need more than one considering bitcoin’s power and the energy needed to go through them.
4  Other / Off-topic / Re: bitcoin has a secret on: May 21, 2024, 08:16:54 PM
hey satoshi, can we talk guys please? dm or something?
What? You want to talk about guys with Satoshi?

I am confused as to who you really are addressing here. Is it Satoshi or guys (us, members of this forum)? And what would you want to say to Satoshi or other members? Please just declare it on your post so we don’t waste our time trying to figure it out.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A debate between I and a friend who is real a time trader(Physical Trader) on: May 21, 2024, 08:14:31 PM
To be honest, we don't have to debate and defend about what we knows. If we really knows the truth, we can tells what we knows without debate with those people who talks with us. We have our knowledge and perhaps that will different than what other people had. We don't have to argue or debate with them because that can makes our relationship disturb and the worst we can lose our relationships. Trading and investment is different and people who knows about trading and investment will have their opinion and we can't force our opinion to them. If they can accept our opinion, that's good. But if not, we can just lets them like that with their opinion.
Exactly lol.

Some investors should also stop with unsolicited investment advices, in my opinion. You are not really making anyone any favors if you do that. We have all different ways of achieving profit and I don’t think one method is better than the other as long as it is giving you the profit you want then that should be the best method. You do not have to convince anyone about what you’re doing as long as it’s working for you.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best altcoins POS with limited supply ? on: May 21, 2024, 08:09:01 PM
Im looking for best altcoins to invest long term limited supply trusted coins and POS proof of stake or different but Im not interested of any POW (no mining )
Im sure not just me here but many others looking same thing.
First in my mind: SOL,TRX,ETH...any others ?
Cardano or ADA is also one with POS mechanism. I can’t tell you if it’s the ‘best’ altcoin out there as you’ll have to decide on that one for yourself. But ADA has a limited supply  of 45 million. I don’t know if you are looking for one with a smaller limited supply but ADA is the one I am most familiar with.
7  Economy / Economics / Re: Luxury items stock will be good way to go on: May 21, 2024, 07:58:23 PM
People usually say that luxury items are a no-go since they are basically useless. I would like to think about them as investments as well. Especially the special edition ones where they are rare and only a few in the world owns them.

When you have gone broke, you can sell these items. Surely someone will buy it. Some of these luxury products can be the ugliest thing you’d see in your life and someone will still buy it. It’s just the logo, the name, the brand they all want.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC never for sale? on: May 20, 2024, 05:11:22 PM
We can understand and learn the culture of BTC and even develop it again. However, as a virtual currency, BTC is valuable and meaningful only when it begins to circulate, rather than being placed in the home like an old antique for future generations to admire
The reason why even if we just hold bitcoin it’s still increasing in price is because there are other people who are transacting with one another with the use of bitcoin. I am not so sure if there will be a time nor do I think there was ever a time where everyone collectively held bitcoin.

Some will continue to buy and some will continue to sell. That’s because we all entered the market differently. Hence why we are all also going to exit the market differently.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another Dog🐕 themed memecoin LAIKA looks set to dominate.. on: May 20, 2024, 04:52:17 PM
The visual alone looks AI generated.

There’s really nothing unique I can see here that I can’t find anywhere else. With how many memecoins are going out every day, there should be at least something that sets you apart from the rest and nothing about this project screams uniqueness and innovation.

Even the character or the dog seems oddly familiar. A little more effort would have been great.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Judge Mellor's Judgement on Craig Wright (not) being Satoshi on: May 20, 2024, 04:46:17 PM
The Judge has finally released his judgement and it is a trainwreck for the fraud Craig Wright.
https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/COPA-v-Wright-Judgment.pdf

Both him and his cohorts have been disappointed and if they will take it more unlikely for them, the second phase of trial should be opened for them all for engaging in all manners of lies and deceits, this is how things should be done, by now, if we see anyone still interested in claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto, such a user can stage forward his reasons ands evidence, if not, then everyone should learn from this and remain silent, then desist from claiming they are Satoshi

CSW team will learn their lessons here. But if they will still pursue the case, it will be known that they are truly losing their mind proving that he is the Satoshi. I don't know what's his real take on what's happening with this case but I believe, they really should stop right now. Or is it because they already lost their faces, hence, they are pursuing the case?
Did we ever stop to consider that maybe they are only pursuing the case because they have no other choice? They are getting paid by Craig Wright. Even if they know it’s nit the truth, they will still push it. What needs some applause here is Craig Wright. Until when is he going to play into this act?

Doesn’t he have enough of the humiliation alone already? Does he think that he can actually win this thing? And prove to everyone that he is indeed Satoshi? I aspire the level of delusion he is in.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Important Questions about the Market and Alts on: May 19, 2024, 12:00:11 PM
What I am simply saying is the fact that I need something, some sort of a website that will teach me all I need to know about cryptos and alts.
There are websites that can tell you about projects marketcap or basically the value of a coin or a project. For example coinmarketcap. The higher ones have relatively a much stable price than the smaller ones, and I think that’s the best you can get.

You’d have to do the rest of decisions for yourself. No website can do that for you.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC staying above $67,000, will it reach all time high? on: May 19, 2024, 11:48:58 AM
I'm really wishing that bitcoin would go in a downward direction,
Sorry to be the one to break it to you nut I am afraid your wish has already happened and if you had missed where bitcoin was reaching below 60k then I think it might be too late. Of course you can still buy but I just don’t think it will go down anymore.
Quote
because I don't believe that there's even such a thing as break in the bullish season.
There are always going to be dips or corrections from time to time, it does not mean the market is going down and experiencing a bearish cycle.
Quote
Regarding my take on bitcoin going to a new all time high, I think that we would probably see another all-time high this year, but I'm not sure that it will be a really big price peak though, maybe 2k higher than the current all-time high or something like that.
We shall see. People are already talking about reaching 100k.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you love your country? on: May 18, 2024, 08:35:12 PM
Why? If possible, please recommend some beautiful things about your country
Do I love my country? That is still a question I have yet to answer.

It’s complicated as I do love a few things about my country: we have probably the happiest people on earth, the best food and the best beaches however it is not all smiles and rainbows here.

Corruption is prevalent, the streets are dirty and roads are polluted, many students not properly educated and the poverty rate keeps rising. It’s a beautiful country that needs a lot of fixing.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kraken considers dropping USDT in Europe ahead of new regulations on: May 18, 2024, 08:30:51 PM
If USDT is no longer available, investors would be forced to find alternative stablecoins so that would be one of the aftermath of this decision. It is not like they can force the regulators to change their decision. The best thing we all can do is comply and compromise. It’s just a shame because I know many investors use USDT.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we know retail is FOMO-ing into Bitcoin? on: May 18, 2024, 08:24:34 PM
Are there other specific indicators or just gut feelings?

Share your funniest and most accurate signs that retail is diving headfirst into Bitcoin.

It is surely when the people around you starts talking about bitcoin. Even if it might be your grandparents. Actually especially so. You might also notice a lot more of shops accepting bitcoin. So far though I have not seen these signs in my country yet. Bitcoin still seems like a mystery to a lot of people.
16  Economy / Economics / Re: I need my lambo now and manson and yahct life too short lets do it on: May 18, 2024, 08:21:57 PM
Guys i need my lambo and yacts and mansions now i can't invest and wait for 10 years and even it's not sure i get

Even if you get rich you might just lose all your money in a snap.

You know what’s a millionaire mindset? Thinking of more ways to earn money not just how to spend them. If your first money is spent on a lambo or a ferrari or any expensive sports car and not on a new investment  you are going to lose all that money.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Important Questions about the Market and Alts on: May 18, 2024, 08:19:19 PM
What are your recommendations for me? Which platform is good to learn more or at least get ahead of the curve before I lose all my money..
I can’t promise you to get ahead of the curve before everyone else.

However something that always happens to a lot of investors is their coins not going the way they expected or planned to. What to do in case loss starts to occur? Have you considered doing stop-loss orders? You set a specific amount and sell at the time the coin reaches that price. That way you get to take out your coin before anyone else follows.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we increase the awrarness level for Bitcoin adoption on: May 18, 2024, 08:15:28 PM
We? not for me, I care with my privacy.
Same here. I am not very excited to share to everyone that I own bitcoin. If you think about it we are all in a vulnerable position if you just willingly tell everyone that you indeed have some bitcoin somewhere on you.
Quote
You can increase the awareness for Bitcoin adoption by:

1. Wear anything e.g. cloth, pants, hat, bag, shoes that have Bitcoin logo.
That is the most unsafe thing I have ever heard. You are not even going to talk to someone making sure that they will not try to aggressively get your devices just to transfer your coins into theirs. Everyone will just know.
Quote
4. Draw Bitcoin logo on your house.
And have someone break in? No, thanks.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoin specifically for holders.. on: May 17, 2024, 08:48:18 PM

this must be the memecoin developers hired by Binance to develop a memecoin in BNB. i just learned about the HODL from the other thread.

i don't know if it's really worth holding. all memecoins are for dumping. it all just depends on the individual who got the memecoin. if one got them for the cheapest price, they'd sell them when the price hits their target.  most investors will stick around to assets that will give yield even without the hype.
I think that memecoins could be best suited for investors who are interested in quick and easy returns.

They do not have the patience to hold so they look out for other options that does not require them to do so in fact with memecoins it’s discouraged to hold memecoins for a long time as everyone is aware of its extreme volatility and potential dumping tendencies after its inital launch.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: The role of private sector involvement in Economic growth on: May 15, 2024, 01:05:45 PM
I think communist nation do also has their own benefits?
Communism allows for people to be equal which is obviously good. Everyone goes through the same thing so they build a better community and feel a stronger sense of responsibility with one another.

The fact that everyone will have at least basic care and needs is a very huge benefit of communism.
Quote
I also/even think we don't really need a government but as long as people are already well disciplined, that should do the job and/but the more it can be attained when we are in a communist nation.
That would be chaos because a country needs to be making decisions to function. I suppose we can always cast votes but it is quite impossible to not have at least one person doing something that is harmful to others. How would then we punish the person without a government that implements laws?
