1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is NOT anonymous--and is a dangerous privacy issue for its users on: Today at 07:37:01 PM
What's crazy is I often still read articles on bitcoin, and often times on decently well "received" outlets, and they still try and push the old narrative that bitcoin is anonymous.  I mean if anyone who does any sort of basic research on bitcoin will quickly come to realize that just not the case.  Not to mention making bitcoin anonymous would ruin it's future potential.  A lot of people try to argue against this, but it's a fact as far as I'm concerned (just look at Monero for reference).
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump Left 2024 Bitcoin Conference $21 Million Richer on: Today at 07:34:29 PM
Well I do know that he was gifted a PF70 NGC graded Casascius coin as seen below.  This really sickens me as I am entirely confident that ole Donny boy has absolutely NO CLUE what bitcoin really is and I bet if you sat him down in a room and gave him one hour to explain what either bitcoin or the blockchain were, he would not be able to complete that task.  I mean do any of you actually believe he understand the underlying technologies that make bitcoin so great??

3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how often do you rely on prediction sites on: Today at 07:30:33 PM
I wouldn't say that I "rely" on them at all, or not completely anyhow.  I will use them in a manner where they can help me make decisions or help lean me in one way or another, but I never use them as a be all end all, I leave that up to myself.  I think you can get yourself in trouble for relying on sites like these, and it might put you in situations where you're more apt to place bets when you otherwise wouldn't be.  I don't think thats a very good idea.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Club loyalty or winning bet? on: Today at 07:28:07 PM
If your bet ever comes down to club loyalty, you should probably just stop betting right then and there are reassess your situation.  I NEVER have club loyalty when placing bets anymore these days.  I learned from playing fantasy football quite some time ago that "betting with your heart instead of your head is a terrible idea".  I was picking my favorite players in drafts/plauyers from "my" team, and that ended up backfiring on me all the time.  Not a good idea.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Basketball) Olympic Games Paris 2024 - Betting discussions on: Today at 07:25:49 PM
I know how the USA - South Sudan friendly match ended but I don't think it matters at all here. Even against Serbia they won by 26 points. I think a similar scenario could be seen today also.
Didn't know South Sudan could play ball, but the last couple of weeks these lads have been on my news feed and had to take an interest to look them up...and I must say standing up against the USA for a close game shows they have b*llz of steel and the boys should give the USA a good game... but am not expecting any surprises either but am guaranteed of a close game here!

Just hope the USA bring their A game because this might be one for the record books, let's go team South Sudan #Underdog
One fact about South Sudan, they don't have indoor basketball courts and look at how far they're able to reach with this Olympics. Going to the Olympics is already a big challenge for most teams and participating countries, that Olympic Qualifying Tournament is a tough tournament and that's why going to the Olympics and the fact that they don't have indoor basketball courts is really impressive. One big guy that has also helped them is Luol Deng that has sponsored them for everything, hotels, flights, etc. out of his own pocket.

Goodness that's for real? That's really sad, I feel for them and I've got a ton of respect for them like you said, coming all this way under the circumstances that they have had to go through.

Of course being from the US I'm rooting hard for us and enjoying the game so far.  I got caught up with work and wasn't able to place any bets in time..what was the spread for the game anyone able to fill me in?
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Summer Olympics 2024 on: July 29, 2024, 06:15:45 AM
Just curious if anyone’s been watching the games in “4k” in your region, and if so, how’s the quality been? Most people I don’t think realize 4k broadcast aren’t actually in true 4k at all.  (Trying to decide if I want to let google / YouTube TV rape me for an extra $15/mo for these games).

Just so nice to have sports to bet on that I’m actually passionate about. MLB/NBA mehh.

Japan soccer team is the best. No Over 23s like everyone else. That is frigging impressive!!

Also Meh, I don't like woke nonsense, but I equally don't like antiwoke ranting. People can do what they like, if it's nice for me I look if it's not nice for me, I don't look.

We have 99% of time girls flashing tits and booty at us, if 1% of the time some guy flashing his d*ck at the TV, I can care no less.

I heard she got banged up today or something Huh

You mean she got pregnant? During Olympics? Smiley

We couldn’t be more in lock step, I dig your vibe my friend.

And yes, it was me who did it w her too. Shhh, plz keep this quiet, no need for me to be apart of a national scandal, let alone a world wide one ffs.  Cheers Smiley
7  Economy / Economics / Re: Which is More Profitable? on: July 29, 2024, 03:52:52 AM
Anyone who tells you A is better than B, and leave it at that, doesn't know what they are talking about.  There are simply so many factors that go in to play here it entirely depends. How much was spent, how much would you get in rent/how many units/what are the leasing terms/how much in taxes and on and on and on.  Also location is of course massive, in one part of the US all things being equal selling might make more sense, but at another part of the US say just 100 miles away, renting would make way more sense.  There's just no black and white answer here.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You Can't Be Too Careful Over Private Keys, Can You? on: July 29, 2024, 03:49:14 AM
After having gone through some serious shit myself thanks to the fckn scumbags at AT&T who don't believe in investing in proper security to keep their clients data safe, I've come to realize that security and privacy are not something to get lazy about what damn bit.  I'm operating in a way I never have and still have a long way to go.  Personally I'm buying new computers for single use task..one for this, one for that, etc.

It's crazy but hacking hasn't /malware/spyware etc has gotten so much more advanced and in an extremely quick fashion..gotta keep up!  So yes, you really can't be too careful.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Summer Olympics 2024 on: July 29, 2024, 03:45:38 AM
Is anyone really tuned in to the gymnastics portion?  I am always interested in who's the best in the world here and find what they do pretty damn amazing.  I mean these these girls/guys are just insane athletically and I can't image ever moving in a way they do.  I know Simone Biles is the worlds best and apparently the best to ever do it.  I heard she got banged up today or something Huh  Certainly rooting for her and a little more interest in that her husband plays on the Chicago Bears, my NFL team , so they've been talking about it a lot on Bears podcasts and what not.

It is the new pandemic.

It is called the “woke mind virus” which is affecting the Europe (and the rest of the world). To cure this disease a vaccine will come to the markets in this November. (Hopefully)
This is really terrible as it's playing down on morality and making it feels like it's about relativity hence there's no absolute standards for morality again because by the day it keeps having new ways of looking at it, or better still approaching I, applying too much of flexibility such that it no longer feel like what it actually should be but what people now make of it. How people are embracing something that's not perfectly okay with them and against nature just for the sake of convenience is really disturbing, I hope the vaccine is out sooner and fix the situation on ground.

lol I don't know if this is a joke or not, I'm kind of scared to ask to be honest.  This forum has got some interesting individuals with some interesting "educational" backgrounds.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you feel when you experience violence while gambling on: July 29, 2024, 03:39:26 AM
Gambling is really stressful if you are not rich. Only the rich can afford to lose in gambling. For middle-class people, gambling is like an opportunity to earn some extra cash. Hence, in this type of situation, getting angry is normal. But yes, we need to understand the situation and control our anger. People with short tempers shouldn’t be allowed to gamble. Not only will they create chaos, but they will also affect the other gamblers. Hence, most of the time I avoid going to physical casinos.

Do you truly believe all this stuff you just wrote?  This is just not true in any first world country and probably most second world nations as well.  I know that there are plenty of third world countries that have just the rich and the poor but of course you mentioned the middle class so I'll assume we are leaving those nations out.  SMART people gamble just for fun and on a very tight gambling budget.

You also confuse opportunity and ignorance imo.  I've said many times here before but the 95% of people I see playing scratch off's here in the United States are the poor/lower class.  They are poor and stay that way for doing ignorant things like playing scratch offs.  Scratch offs are a lot of fun and make great christmas stocking stuffers and what not, but that's all they should be.  Opportunity should not be confused with legitimately investing.
11  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Trezor Metallics First Edition HW Wallet From 2014 - Unopened Original Unpacked on: July 28, 2024, 07:41:39 PM
At first I was thinking this was a post about one of these (3 versions - $700-1500). Exact clones can be bought for $10 now FYI , if anyone is interested at a reasonable rate.

Any idea on mintage #?  Smart move getting and never opening! It’s def worth a good bit, how much not a clue. Not sure I’ve ever seen one for sale tbh.

Best of luck.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Summer Olympics 2024 on: July 28, 2024, 04:18:39 PM
I liked some parts of the opening, but overall it was a very psychedelic and unconventional opening. It was almost like a hyperactive drag queen organized some parts. It was nice and successful that the opening ceremony was held outdoors in the city center and around the Seine river, not in the stadium. The lighting of the Olympic fire was ordinary. Honestly, it would have been a legendary event if the fire was lit at the tip of the Eiffel Tower. However, I think that placing the fire in the middle of the Tuliere garden spoiled the whole ambiance and the moment of lighting the fire was not memorable. The final of such a big event could have been bigger and more memorable. Still, I realized that I miss the elegance of the old Olympics.
It was somewhat wierd. Floating the sportsmen down the Seine is kinda stunning. But some of the other thing seemed excessive. The Olympics is about uniting the globe, right? Its not a political rally. Its about highlighting skill, sportsmanship, the human spirit. But this time it felt like we were being preached to, and not everyone will value that.

And Olympic flame, too? Look, Paris is wonderful. But burning the flame in a garden? Not exactly the great show

I agree. The Olympics have to change. Still, we cannot ignore the core of it all. Its about unity, not separation. Its about honouring our differences rather than advancing agendas. Lets not forget the reason everyone of us listens in. Its for the competitors, for the athletes, for the pure delight of sports.

Why in the fck was Snoop Dog involved ?? lol. Who gives a shit about Snoop dog in a situation like that. Also failing to use the flame to light a big fat spliff was a misstep  Cheesy
Is anyone else watching USA vs Serbia basketball game Huh
I am. Serbia looked good first 5-6 minutes but then USA shifted in higher gear and result is as expected.

Having said that, Serbia shooting for 3 pts has been horrendous in the first qurter, especially Bogdanovic. Speaking of which, I can't believe that at the end of Q1 when they had 3 vs 1 situation he decided to shoot yet another 3, instead passing for an easy points. If Serbia doesn't change their approach, this will finish easily over 20 pts for the US.

Same. KD and Lebron at half - 13/13 33 points lol. KD is limited too. USA only worry is being too good, and players not finding a suitable role as NOT an alpha like most normally are. Heck of a first half
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Standard practice for online Casinos going under - how are cash outs handled? on: July 28, 2024, 03:58:18 PM
It got me wondering , what is standard practice for closing an online casino and what laws (if any) must be followed when doing so? Is there a such thing as “international casino laws” ?  (Probably a ridiculous question but had to ask anyhow)
If the casino is well organized there should a commonsensical and organized process of closure even in the absence of a law. The casino should already have their process written while they were writing their business plan. I know that in each document for a business plan there is always a place where they will write what happens when there is a dissolution of the business. And aside informing their customers to withdraw their funds way ahead of the closing time, they are also to inform the licensing and regulatory body of their shut down. This body would now check to see if they have no outstanding debts before going ahead to approve it.

Well and said and above all, simply logical.

Seen enough repeat replies of nothingness at this point. Locking.

Put a sizable bet on USA at -14…totally forgot they have Yok, whoops lol.

Still, team USA starting 5 - Curry, James, Emiid, Booker and Holiday. I expect Holiday to take a backseat role unlike in the warm up games, honestly he’s only on the team for his D and bn the only legit PG, so they needed a guy like him to facilitate the offense. We will see how long he remains tho. Let’s go

15  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Legendary Account defaulted 60$ on: July 28, 2024, 08:27:40 AM
Dang, I remember when that guy was an up-and-coming sig campaign manager. He actually beat me out for a spot when I offered to be a manager for a project way back when. Sorry to hear about it. On the bright side, at least it was only $60 this time.

Who knows what led him to want to abandon such a well-established account for so little; a mystery of life circumstance I suppose.

Messaged him 2 days ago and noticed the same (being MIA for some time). Was regarding his red trust w LuckyBit. He never removed it from their account which makes me believe he never was fully refunded by them, either.  Dude’s been beat up a bit it surely would seem. He of course knew the risks but still.   Non-collateral loans are something I would advise heavily against lol . I think I can count through all 10 fingers of good forum  “friends” who vanished after taking loans from other , forum friends.

Respect tho if he did just say f it all and rode off in the ..sunset Huh
16  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Eclipse - Finally happened / Lifetime ban from eBay. on: July 28, 2024, 03:05:52 AM
The issue with eBay is and has always been it's their house & their rules but they don't apply them evenly.

Sometimes it's 1 strike and you are out other times it's 5 strikes and you are gone.

It seems to really depend on the amount of sales (both number and $) and how long you have been there.

It's not fair but me having an account for over 25 years at this point is going to get a lot more leeway then Eclipse with a 4 or 5 year old account.
A friend of mine with a 10 year old account that is doing 1000s and 1000s of dollars of sales a month and 1000s and 1000s of purchases a month is going to get a lot more leeway then me because although I have been there longer for the most part he does more every month in sales and purchases then I do in a year or even two years.

It all comes down to the bottom line, help eBays a lot and you will get away with more then someone else.

It's not fair, it's business.

-Dave

But..they are a publicly traded company so they don’t own the entire eBay business by a long shot.  I’m pretty confident shareholders (I’m sure I’ve got this shithole of a company represented in some fund I own unfortunately) wouldn’t be okay with their “we govern by our own accord and don’t have to tell you why either” attitude.  Sure any owner of any company should know its bylaws but eBay plays outside of those too, as we all know.

Did I say fuck eBay yet?
17  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Bitcoin Coin Co- CEO Tim Fillmore - Scam Thread on: July 28, 2024, 03:00:55 AM
I see some forum members have started to receive their Mt Gox payouts.  Is there a known list or timeline or something of the sort for who and when payments are made from that “ordeal”?

Anyone able to chime in who specifically told Tim that they were opting to wait for a full payment for when Gox pays out ?

Hopefully people continue to fight for their rightful property. I didn’t lose anything but know I’ll be a thorn in Tims side until he makes right with everyone (including those who still have no idea their btc is not actually there in their Titan coins). This is what just burns me deeply. Maybe some kids college fund..or way worse. How scammers can sleep at night is beyond me.

Anways slacking on a proper updated breakdown, will try to build that this coming week.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Basketball) Olympic Games Paris 2024 - Betting discussions on: July 28, 2024, 12:02:31 AM
Is there a European team that can stand against America? I don't think it will happen this year. Players in America have higher motivation than ever before, they are preparing well for the tournament

Players from every country have the same motivation and preparedness too though. Although I do agree that USA is heads and shoulders above every other countries when it comes to basketball. Turkey have a good league but I don't understand why they're team is not in a solid form. Australia too is good.
When you look at all the countries, USA is actually better than all them, but then again, it's sports. A dominant team might get a shock and there can be an upset.
Personally, I won't bet on USA because they're favourites and their odd is too small.

Usually there were national teams who stood up against USA at the Olympics but this year I personally cannot see anyone having a real chance to beat them. More than this , we just saw Canada beating Greece and that was a surprise for me even if both teams are having amazing players.

Tomorrow , USA plays against Serbia and I do see the game being a tough one for Serbia but I also do see them putting up a great game and score a lot because so far we didn't see spectacular games with a lot of points and hopefully tomorrow this game will deliver a high score game.

I don't think the US has ever lost an Olympic gold medal when they were legitimately trying to win it.  I believe Michael Jordan was on an Olympic team that got silver or bronze but he was just out of college if memory serves me.  There's been quite a few times where the US just sent the best college guys, as I don't think the Pro's wanted to risk injury or whatever at certain times in mens bball olypic play.

That said they sure as shit are going hard for gold this year.  The US technically is so far beyond any teams it's not even funny.  I mentioned earlier in this thread that the US is so stacked with players, there's enough to make up about 2 more full teams that theoretically should win gold in these games.  Some guys got straight snubbed (james harden, Kyrie Iriving, Jaylen Brown..to name just a few).

But sheer talent doesn't always win out, chemistry is HUGE!
Best of luck to those who've got a team in the games !
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Bets! on: July 27, 2024, 11:51:42 PM
The current odds after Biden withdrew his candidacy are like 1.57 for Donald Trump and 2.35 for Kamala Harris.

I think those odds are more realistic than you’re seeing from the media with their poll numbers. They’d have you believe that Kamala is in the lead for some reason. Vegas never lies though. It’s looking very much like a Trump victory is in the cards for November and from hearing him talk today, I’m ecstatic about it.

The only outlet I've seen pushing this narrative pretty hard has been CNBC (granted I'm not SUPER dialed in, but I read the "news")  I mean she's only been the candidate for what, a week (not even sure if she is officially tbh)?  I think it's insane to really post poll findings already as if they are really sound , prediction wise.  Old man Joe certainly wasn't leading any polls I know of, and we all know (us muricans) he had a slim chance period.  I think Kamala has a CHANCE, albeit just slightly better than that of Joe.  I do not support trump (though I wish the republicans would pick a somewhat centered candidate as I would LOVE to vote Red) and I didn't support Biden and so I had planned to vote off ballot like I did with Trump/Clinton, but now..I MIGHT vote Kamala, as much as I dislike her and feel she's absolutely not fit to run this country either. I can't be alone here, but not sure those that fit in this category such as myself make up much % wise (realistically even 1-2% would prob be max I'd have to guess..not likely changing the outcome).

what kinda odd's are you seeing on your casino for donny now? ( I need to check mine).  Even with good odds in presidential elections I feel like you just never know in this crazy country of ours.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Standard practice for online Casinos going under - how are cash outs handled? on: July 27, 2024, 11:21:04 PM
As sunderland already said, there weren't many active gamblers on the site near the end when the owners decided to shutdown. Giving 2 weeks was plenty for the few to wd what was left on their balance.

I was working with the site at the end managing the mods and nothing felt shady to me or I would have disagreed with the time period they gave. If the platform was super active and had hundreds of players, i'm positive that more time would have been given. I'm sure if someone had a bunch on the site( quite sure noone did) and missed the deadline, they could have gotten in touch with LB support or me and gotten a payment handled. The owners in no way were out to fuck anyone.

It seems a few forum buddies who I respect a great deal/trust had some sort of dealings with them (like yourself Yahoo), but despite this, it doesn't connect you with the owners and the site extensively unless you knew the books in and out...right?  I wouldn't imagine you would have known these sort of details?  It's like w/Hhampuz, that's my brother who I trust a shit ton, and I know he does all he can to vet those he advertizes for, but if a company rugged and excited shadily, I wouldn't blame him.  How's he to know.  Just like I wouldn't put any of what I perceive as shady from LuckyBit on people like yourself.  You may have had a decent handle on active forum users, but what about those who weren't btalk members..how would you know how many of them existed and came in unknowingly to anyone, publicly.  I mean closing shop like, giving less than a 2 weeks notice..shady AF IMO.  Also if there were so few on the site, why would they not have reached out to everyone individually?  It seems DarkStar was wronged by them, and he's a trusted DT1 member here. Also, limited withdraws to a certain amount was fd up.  I get it if you're a huge casino (I GUESS), but not some small rinky dink deal like you mention.  Just pay a few satoshis in fees or take it out of the balance.  I dunno.  Doesn't seem that unshady to me, but..I hope that I'm mostly wrong here. ( on a positive note, football is near my friend Smiley  )

I appreciate everyone elses reponses.  Once I make sure I read everyone's through having to do with LuckyBit, will lock the thread.

Other things want to mention, which idiot who are storing funds in some casino? casino is not exchange/wallet (most people should deposit and withdraw) immediately after they finish the section gambling. These case only can be face, for some guy who are storing their money in casino.

Storing money in casino should be a crime, and people who do these need to go jail Grin
There are a bunch of situations where gamblers can easily forget their gambling money for quite a while and let it sit in their account. In my case, I had a bunch of winnings together with my deposit sitting around in my account back then for a few weeks because of my luck from winning a promotion or raffle. People can quickly become busy so we can't blame them if they still have money sitting at their gambling accounts.
For a gambler to be too busy not to find not more than 20mins for days forgetting to making withdrawal of a bunch of winnings (not single win) in their gambling account, such scenario only explains one thing for me, which is that, the gambler has so much to his name already and that bunch in the account is some money they already can afford to lose.

I have also find out that many forum members are quite more comfortable leaving their money stay as long as possible in their gambling account than they will do with CEX but they are forgetting one thing that these companies are both centralized and they share same risk nature. I take pride in withdrawing my winnings to my wallet immediately I stop my gambling sessions.

If I could make time to gambling that long I should also make time for withdrawal, right?

This is utterly ridiculous to have a mindset like this. I leave sizable amounts of money on my casino balance for months at a time. I gamble a lot and I go through periods of not doing so and kind of "forgetting" about it.  I'm fuckin busy in life and "to not find more than 20mins for days"... lol  yeah "days' like that some huge amount of time.  People get busy, brotha.  I'm baffled by this logic of thinking.  Pride away with your withdraws but not everyone feels the need to take them out immediately, for several very legit reasons..I can't imagine not knowing what these reasons are but hey.

With luckybit, it was a shady exit. What’s crazy is the casino closure was announced on Jan 19th & users had until just Jan 31st to withdraw balances (even worse some balances were ineligible for withdraw , such as a .001btc balance and below ..and apparently even if you tried to make a deposit to top off your balance to qualify for a full withdrawal, it was seemingly not allowed).
As one of the regulars who were active on LuckyBit from the end of 2013 to 2021, I can confirm that the platform closed their service because the owners were very busy with their real life job, also one of the founders was even very well known in the XMR community and became Monero core Dev.
At that time/2021 there weren't many players actively playing on LB because there were only 2 games Plinko and Dice (original), from a business perspective it would certainly not be good for them.
So if you say it was a shady exit - I totally disagree.

Regarding withdrawal issues, the price of BTC at that time was $30k ish and transaction fees between $17 to $25, so that's one of the reasons why there was a minimum withdrawal of 0.002 BTC.
If players (perhaps only less than 5 players affected by this) were allowed to make deposits, it would actually be in vain because the fees were quite expensive at that time, for example:
Player A has 0.001 BTC, if he wants to withdraw 0.002 BTC then he has to deposit 0.001 BTC + fees around 0.0007 BTC = that is very ineffective.

Good lord I'm amazed at the bullshit people will put up with.  They are busy IRL with their jobs? Good for them, so the fuck am I and many others. This is also total horseshit as if this were the case, why were they offering bonuses on deposits up TO THE DAY they announced closing, and WHY set such a harsh and fast deadline date?  You are insane to defend this shit the way you have.  Yahoo's reply I get, yours, ridiculous logic.

btw transaction fees can bet set at what you want, and even one person stated that they'd like to deposit enough in their account to then fully withdraw EVERYTHING, and as far as I can see, publicly, they were ignored (waiting on if this remained the case).
