1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Obyte: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 19, 2019, 05:33:00 AM
A major update is coming to livenet in 2-4 months, today it was launched on testnet.

The update introduces Autonomous Agents and vastly increases the design space available to developers.

Here are some ideas of apps that can be created based on Autonomous Agents:

*    tradable shares in prediction markets;
*    futures contracts;
*    algorithmic stable coins;
*    synthetic assets;
*    other derivatives;
*    collateralized lending;
*    margin trading;
*    decentralized exchange;
*    decentralized oracles;
*    payment channels;
*    game economies;
*    market makers;
*    automatic management of investment portfolios;

Read the full story https://medium.com/obyte/introducing-autonomous-agents-6fe12fb12aa3

To encourage development of new apps and to extensively test the new functionality while it is still on testnet, we are simultaneously launching a developer contest

https://medium.com/obyte/obyte-autonomous-agents-developer-contest-6a67ae3dacd2

Every two weeks we'll have up to 4 winners:

Best apps:
    Winner: 140 GB + 422 GBB
    2nd place: 70 GB + 147.7 GBB
    3rd place: 35 GB + 73.85 GBB

Best tutorial/guide: 55 GB + 116.05 GBB

The prize pool comprises of undistributed funds that would otherwise have been spent in the weekly Draw Airdrop, making the draw a bi-weekly event.

Instead of distributing funds at random to existing Obyte users, money is instead spent on incentivizing creation of useful applications on the platform.

With this move, we are course-correcting our distribution policy and do not plan to launch any major distribution campaigns targeted at acquiring new users before a sufficient number of popular apps is built.

A preview of apps that can be created with AA: https://github.com/byteball/oscript-editor/tree/dc4084cf8a23d1a8bc6b39d8c3e5bc50976ffd75/src/templates/lib
The possibilities are huge for such a pretty simple script language!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Looking for a designer for some work on a mobile application on: May 08, 2019, 09:36:06 AM
Hi,

We have a mobile application (made with Nativescript) that we have to demonstrate to a potential partner on May, 20th.
The design was initially made by an agency but there were some addons and rework since so some polishing is needed to make everything nice and coherent.

We are looking for a professional designer who is available in a short time to:
- create some specific icons that are missing
- rework some parts that we are unhappy with
- look at the app with a fresh eye and provide suggestion for design improvements.

We want to dedicate 10 to 15 hours for this work next week.

You should have an Android phone to test the app as it is now.
We expect the designer to provide screenshots photoshopped with the change he suggests, ideally with PNG and CSS snippets allowing me to easily encode your design.
Payment terms are negociable depending of your reputation.

If you're interested please send me your references, timezone and hourly rate by PM.

In the quotes above, link to SourceForge for binaries has been modified by a link to mega.nz.
DON'T DOWNLOAD THESE FILES!

Let's say you are a bakery owner and you need to invest in new oven, you tokenize some future breads you are going to produce as assets, you sell them with a discount to your usual customers and you promise to release n breads a day against the assets.
1) bakery owner use byterbal:
- bakery owner issue a tokens.
- customers register on crypto exchange, deposit dollars, buy bitcoins, withdraw btc to another exchange, buy balls, download byterbal wallet, withdraw balls to wallet. Fees + spread + work + study.
- customers exchange balls to tokens.
- bakery owner send balls to exchange, buy bitcoins, withdraw btc to another exchange, buy dollars, withdraw dollars. Fees + spread + work + study.
Done.
2) bakery owner use excel and paper flyers:
- bakery owner print a tokens.
- customers buy tokens with fiat.
Done.

No, he can sell token for fiat like in your old school method.

ICOs for crypto-vaporwares are over and it's a good thing.
But with the simplicity that Byteball offers, there can be many real-world applications possible, especially for small businesses.
Let's say you are a bakery owner and you need to invest in new oven, you tokenize some future breads you are going to produce as assets, you sell them with a discount to your usual customers and you promise to release n breads a day against the assets.
This use case is possible right now with Byteball at zero cost and without specific knowledge. That deserves to be known.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 25, 2018, 12:36:41 PM
My concerns are that witnesses can blacklist some users and block outgoing transactions. In this case, most users will not be affected and will not have the motivation to change witnesses.
For example some guy will open SilkRoad and accept balls. Witnesses will decide to block all outgoing transactions from the seen addresses. Most of users will not be affected and SilkRoad users will not be protected from witnesses attack.
Another example: witnesses can block outgoing transactions from the whale address to prevent the dump.
Another example: witnesses can block outgoing transactions for all transactions over $10k. Users will need to pass a KYC, fill in the declaration, indicate the origin of the money for making such transactions.
hmm maybe this is why Byterbal integrate all this KYC solutions? Sad.  Byterbal is Putin's answer to Satoshi?

You clearly don't understand how DAG works, a witness cannot cherry pick the units it contributes to confirm. If he tries to do that, all children units from other user wouldn't be confirmed too.

Your example of big cruncher is also a new address (first transaction on 2018-10-14), which means it is new a new joiner and that's why they are not on wcg.report yet. Looks like they are claiming bytes from multiple accounts to same address.

So, please no FUD if you don't fully understand what you are reading.

It doesn't matter if it appears on wcg.report or not. If a million points are sent, I expect to see a $10 byte transaction, and this is not the case.

I see 437 million points and only 9,2 GB ($460 at $50/GB)-> https://explorer.byteball.org/#367663IOBS6XJD4EYKEMZ7AUU44PEE4O

It is no FUD if its truth.

Lol you are looking at an address balance, not at a transaction. The guy has spent or moved elsewhere the remaining bytes while all WCG points stay on same address.

Lol where? There are NOT out transactions from that address.

Check the aforementioned address before talking, thanks.

Seriously, Why happens this? Why byteball can not keep his word?

This is hilarious. Please transition to a serious project, tech is already here.

And hire keeek as an advisor, for the sake of god.

For the WCG points you crunched before registering to distribution you get these rewards:
Quote
If you are already a WCG member and earned some points before enrolling into the distribution, you also receive a one-time reward that depends on the amount of WCG points you generated:

    100,000 to 1,000,000 points: $0.20;
    1,000,000 to 10,000,000 points: $3.00;
    10,000,000 to 100,000,000 points: $40.00;
    over 100,000,000 points: $150.00.
They are below the ratio of 1$ for 100000 WCG.
Byteball doesn't fool anyone, stop spreading your bullshit.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PASC] PascalCoin, true deletable blockchain - V3 Hardfork on block 210000 on: October 04, 2018, 04:59:53 AM

Code:
apt install lazarus-ide
  Installs everything.  I have used that to run the wallet from source for many months on few different Linux systems.

The apt source is unchanged.
Code:
main non-free contrib

The only proprietary software/driver I use is the NVidia for Linux (1080ti).  Note:  It works with 1080ti out of the box with the open driver, but the GPU acceleration is nonexistent.

It may not work on Mint.  I gave up on it.  Too many issues with compatibility on generic PC hardware.

Ubuntu/Debian derivative should work 100%.

apt installed version 1.6+dfsg-1, is it same as yours?

Is there any plan to port PascalCoin to another language?
I've always found this coin great, but just thinking of compiling  Pascal wallet for my linux distro gives me headaches.

I'm a Linux user. Mint 19.

I install Lazarus and Free Pascal and compile PascalCoin binaries without any headache at all.

The Software Manager installs Lazarus and FPC automatically. The source code of PascalCoin is downloaded fro Github and unzipped into a directory. Then I can compile just by opening the project file in Lazarus and click Compile in the menu. I don't even need to set anything under Project Options, but of course I can set options to get more compact binaries.

It can't be more easy  Grin

I'm not that lucky with Mint 18.2. Lazarus asked me to install a package named multithreadprocslaz, I found it and downloaded it but now I got an error about FCL.

While some projects dedicated to IoT still don't have a product, Byteball is on Arduino!

https://steemit.com/arduino/@papabyte/you-like-crypto-and-arduino-build-this-hardware-cosigner-for-byteball-wallet

It seems to be the first hardware wallet for byteball, isn't it. Did they flash byteball code into arduino hardware to build that wallet?

It's a C++ implementation made from scratch (https://github.com/Papabyte/byteduino)
It's not a complete featured wallet though (only 40KB of RAM on ESP8266!) but it proves than Byteball can run on hardware that costs only a few dozens of cents. At this price level it's even possible to make disposable sensors that would send only one measurement into DAG during their life.

I think if Tony wanted he would arrange some people to vote for byteball. Maybe it's now not so important for byteball to appear in binance. I am curious when the time for byteball will be though..

You mean buying votes and get disqualified?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TravelFlex : Decentralized Social Network & Payment System on: August 22, 2018, 07:27:24 AM

The new TRF DAG coin

Travelflex has switched to a DAG based algorithm in order to solve the scalability problems faced by many other cryptocurrencies and to become one of the front-runners in blockchain technology.

DAG is believed to be blockchain 3.0 and brings Travelflex into the future!

First, there was Bitcoin, then there was Ethereum, now there is DAG. DAG is much more efficient than other blockchain solutions and is used to help solve multiple issues with data processing, data compression and finding the most effective navigation routes.

One of the fastest coins on the market!

The new TRF DAG coin is lightning fast, with current transaction speeds of around 4,000 TPS. Of course, these speeds will only continue to get faster, with estimations that by December, TRF will be up to 10,000 TPS, making us one the fastest coins in existence.

To learn more about Travelflex, please visit our website at https://travelflex.org

This is complete bullshit, you copied-pasted Byteball codebase which has for now 20 tps as maximum.

I don't think the volumes are too high. The real opportunity to increase volumes would have been at the Football World Cup. But even then the numbers weren't substantial. There are advantages to using Byteball to bet, but I guess the trend just hasn't caught on yet.

We had several days with more than 200GB on contracts, it's quite honorable when you compare to Augur that has no more than 200 ETH as daily volume.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 09, 2018, 12:07:29 PM
Do anyone know if this affects Byteball? Ethan Heilman and Dr. Neha Narula, Director of the Digital Currency Initiative at the MIT Media Lab, claims IOTA's Curl-P could be broken using a cryptanalysis technique discovered in the 1990s.

Absolutely not. Byteball uses only same cryptographic functions as Bitcoin.

With all due respect but has this whole WCG project produced any real world benefit or is it just calculations for the sake of calculations akin to SETI Project with ZERO results so far and only hope keeping it alive?

It's real science, most WCG projects eventually release scientific publications and contribute to improve knowledge. There can be though years between calculations are finished and paper is published.
Computational biology and chemistry are nowadays essential, many universities and research institutes own computing farms to run projects. So it's certainly not calculations for the sake of calculations.

Can you give one example of such paper published?

You can find links to some papers in these news: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/about_us/displayNews.do?filterCategory=1_0&filterTags=14&sortBy=&pageNum=1
