101  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [100 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: November 08, 2013, 07:24:18 AM
Does Slush still pay out every 15 minutes? How does that actually work now? I have my payout set at 0.1 and I have 0.11057241 reward sitting there, when will it be paid? Am I missing something here? Obviously I want to sell why it's high...
102  Other / Beginners & Help / Pool to Exchange Transfers on: November 08, 2013, 07:13:42 AM
Hi,

Is it safe to send your coins directly from the pool to an exchange such as Bitstamp, MtGox? What are your thoughts? I've been thinking of doing this, skipping the whole wallet thing altogether.
103  Other / Beginners & Help / View cgminer on KNC Mercury through PuTTY on: November 05, 2013, 12:13:04 PM
Hey guys,

So I've got my Mercury running and it's hashing nicely, but I would like to be able to see what's happening with cgminer. I've read that you can log in using PuTTY. Anyone have a good beginners guide to this? One specifically towards KNC Miners would be tops, if there's any, or if you're willing to give up your precious time to help me here?

Thanks Smiley

2% fee. What pool are you guys on? I should look around...

Also, what are the dangers of sending coins direct from pool to exchange?

How long does six confirmations usually take? *noobstyling*

You tell me. You're the miner here, not me.

Good point. Up to 3 hours. *sigh* Wink

I think bertmod just killed my .98.1 sigh...
108  Other / Beginners & Help / Unconfirmed Coins in my Bitcoin QT on: November 05, 2013, 09:42:04 AM
Hi,

I just got a payout of coins from Slush's pool, however they're Unconfirmed in my wallet. It's saying received with 0 of 6 confirmations. Does this mean these coins are part of rewards where Slush is still verifying? So when Slush is verified to the last round, they will become confirmed?

Thanks,
Jeff

I'm going to give the official release of .98.1 a go tonight, see how I go! Wish me luck! I want 140!

Also, I estimate 10 days to get one Bitcoin from my Mercury, what are you getting out of yours?
111  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: KNC Mercury Miners - Settings, Statistics, Your Setup on: November 04, 2013, 11:16:03 AM
So my Mercury is hashing at 105, which is fine, I paid for 100. However, I'd like to get the proposed 130 that it's suggested to be able to achieve. I'm waiting for the Die 0 Error patch that they're releasing, hopefully that will solve something.

Anyone else experience this on their Mercury and find a fix?

Cheers,

Ordered and paid 2100usd total for my Mercury Aug. 8, got it Oct. 25, and it is one of those

with 1 underpowered vrm out of 4, so it is at 75%. Its on bin .98

I spent a few days trying everything short of pulling the
board apart to get the vrm working, all to no avail. The only
thing I noticed, was that bin .94 gave some crazy unstable speeds and burned hot.
It is true the hotter the burn, the better the hash. These chips can go 70C no prob.
I would use bin .94 if it were more stable over 12 hours, but I use .98 and burn at 48C.

I have a Coolmax 500 PSU, and the whole thing makes almost NO sound, which is great.
Draws 102w, so it is approximately 1gh/watt.

At Eligius pool, where I have been stable at since sometime Tuesday,
I get 105GH constant, but it does burst up to 150GH on 128 second.

So every 28 hours, I get a 0.16777216 btc payout, and I've collected 3 so far.
As a first time miner, thats pretty fucking cool, but I did buy this at 50m diff, and did
not anticipate getting it at 390m diff.  No big deal, I bought this because I believe in
Bitcoin and supporting the network, not as a get rich quick ROI toy.

Heck, if bitcoin stays around 200usd, according to blockchained.info,
at 4.75billion diff, I'll still make 3.25usd a day if my electricity rates stay low.

Even though my miner is at 75% strength, I feel I got a good deal from KNC,
when I bought it I only expected what I have now, though the extra 43GH would come in handy.

I feel sorry for the guys that got miners that were 50% or more crippled,
the RMA process by KNC is BULLSHIT. Guys, I feel for you. Our best hope is:

A. Its a software problem, after all, there are 4 other unused VRMs on the board.
B. They make a bin that overclocks the working cores, getting the whole tub of shit up to speed.
This makes the most sense to me, we're burning cool, a little hotter would be closer to normal.

Shit, in perspective I got a great deal, because I was one of those fucktards who actually put a 3200
dollar bid on a BFL Single Pre-order on EBAY in July. Thank God a bigger fucktard outbid me. Grin
Phew, that was a close one.

Well, good luck all, and whatever you do, keep mining. Cool

Good luck mate, glad you didn't win that eBay sale! My miner is mining at 102Ghs roughly and I've estimated 6-10 days to mine a full coin. Since Tuesday night midnight, which is 4 days, it's mined .4 of a coin on Slush pool.

I'm just glad I got mine without damage and in good working order and hope it stays that way for a long time to come. My thoughts are with those who received faulty miners in one way or another, that would suck completely. It's a big investment for any miner.

Everyone, how long does it take your Mercury unit to pull 1 coin?
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 01, 2013, 03:11:27 AM
Ouch, hard to follow some random wall of text that I didn't bother to read. Apologies in advance.

I cannot seem to get consistent results of more than 490 with my Jupiter. Temps in the long term do not seem to matter much.

I have heard of a enable cores thing, could someone quickly link me to some info on that so I don't have to read through 200 pages of this crap?

---- better yet, if anyone can link me to a consolidated, frequently updated thread specifically about increasing the performance of your Jupiter please PM me. This thread is ridiculous.

==== better still, a sticky with links to firmware downloads, FAQs, and all that!

I just raised a specific thread for Mercury for this purpose. I think it's a good idea to have separate threads per device for performance, setup, etc discussion and yes, this thread is getting ridiculous to follow. I'm too lazy to link my thread though lol, it's in mining/hardware forum Smiley

Hi All,

So I set up my Mercury miner on Tuesday night, managed to get it hashing at around 80 to 100 at midnight. As soon as .89 was released, my Mercury happily hashes at 102 on the pool. Today was a little odd, I witnesed on the pool side that my machine jumped from 50G to 150G then back to steadily hashing at 102G, very odd I thought?

I'm with Slush's pool and currently am sitting at 0.25505708 BTC since Tuesday night from my Mercury. I've roughly estimated it will take me 10 days to mine one coin if rounds are 2 hours each with a reward of .008 / .009 BTC.

Are you getting a higher hash rate from your Mercury? What settings are you running?
I've read heat helps some machines, I might try this when I get home...

Can we try and keep this thread specific to KNC Mercury machines?

Cheers,
jmevz

My Mercury is sitting at 106Gh/s and roughly the same on the server. I'm on .89, can't seem to get it to stay any higher. I'd like 110, 120 at least. I've seen it go to 126, that would be nice constantly, but it's not doing it hmmm...

about what mine is doing.

Hmm, I need to log in and check cgminer errors. Not at all familiar with that stuff...

So I applied .98 about an hour ago. Took my machine a little to warm up to it, but now my Mercury is hashing just over 100 at 110, highest of 126. Time to see if it stays in this range. Seems to jump up and down quite a bit, I'm guessing this is normal? How stable are these machines suppose to be?

This whole afternoon before applying the patch, it was going up and down from 80g to 100g every two hours it seemed. Seemed to peak, then drop, peak, then drop slowly over that time period, odd.

Comments?

Mine sat at 136 then at 140 when I went to .97 and has been on 141 to 144 ave on .97 so far...on the pool and on the miner software. The only other stats were that short term Eligus BS which was wildly over and under that. Oh and running at 38C max.

Hmmm, I'm getting basically 100G, 106 if I'm lucky at the moment, highest was 126 for a very short while.  It's running better than it was on any other firmware so I'm not wanting to change it just yet... Was hoping I could get a bit closer to 130 though...

What's your HW error %? Some seem to be very high and some very low. I'm around 1.5% so lucky I think. 130 - 140 per module seems to be average though.

Haven't checked yet tbh, only had the machine since last night. I'm guessing I have to log in and view CGMiner for those stats, so that may take me a little while to get my head around. I'm still trying to work out where I'm going to put it.

Where do you guys have your machines set up? Care to share some imagery? Smiley

Apologies if it's been asked before. But any method to fix the error below? Everything seems to be running fine but I don't see stats.

CGMiner Status   Running (Connect to CGMiner API failed)

On the mining page in the webui of your miner, make sure the 'CGMiner API Enabled' checkbox is checked.

Thanks...

That's now checked, didn't seem to change anything though, is there another step? I've cleared cache etc on the browser...

yes, you have to restart cgminer in order to apply the config modifications

Hey there we go, thanks! *feeling a bit silly right now though Smiley*
