Apologies if it's been asked before. But any method to fix the error below? Everything seems to be running fine but I don't see stats.

CGMiner Status   Running (Connect to CGMiner API failed)

On the mining page in the webui of your miner, make sure the 'CGMiner API Enabled' checkbox is checked.

Thanks...

That's now checked, didn't seem to change anything though, is there another step? I've cleared cache etc on the browser...

yes, you have to restart cgminer in order to apply the config modifications

So I applied .98 about an hour ago. Took my machine a little to warm up to it, but now my Mercury is hashing just over 100 at 110, highest of 126. Time to see if it stays in this range. Seems to jump up and down quite a bit, I'm guessing this is normal? How stable are these machines suppose to be?

This whole afternoon before applying the patch, it was going up and down from 80g to 100g every two hours it seemed. Seemed to peak, then drop, peak, then drop slowly over that time period, odd.

Comments?

Mine sat at 136 then at 140 when I went to .97 and has been on 141 to 144 ave on .97 so far...on the pool and on the miner software. The only other stats were that short term Eligus BS which was wildly over and under that. Oh and running at 38C max.

Hmmm, I'm getting basically 100G, 106 if I'm lucky at the moment, highest was 126 for a very short while.  It's running better than it was on any other firmware so I'm not wanting to change it just yet... Was hoping I could get a bit closer to 130 though...

Ok, left bags covering most of the heatsinks overnight and stats are still better. The temp sensor must be in the chip because otherwise how would I have shown it being hotter with an open case? Edit: used an IR temp sensor and highest temp I can find anywhere is 130F, so even though the temp sensor may not be in the chip, I am still below the temp of 70C that many are finding ideal. 130F is only 55C. So this method is only if your unit is in a cold basement like mine.

What's your HW error %? Some seem to be very high and some very low. I'm around 1.5% so lucky I think. 130 - 140 per module seems to be average though.

Haven't checked yet tbh, only had the machine since last night. I'm guessing I have to log in and view CGMiner for those stats, so that may take me a little while to get my head around. I'm still trying to work out where I'm going to put it.

Where do you guys have your machines set up? Care to share some imagery? Smiley

hmmm my unit is in a cold bsmt 41c on 2 units and 27c and 32c on other two...the bsmt is 62F...i'm running .95 at 555gh stable (it drifts up 10-15gh and back down) and 547.7ave ...i'm doing like 537.7 stable on slush and I have the case open and 2 fans both 3" both in front right and left blowing crosswise (x pattern) across the miner

from posts here seems my unit works better then most...(or am I in denial) my impression ...and thus fence sitting on going to .98

also do the 'correct' error formula (not using knc cgminer hw errors alone) and I get a 5.5% or so error rate

the only other thing is once in a great while i'll have 1 core 4-86? enbable on and then off ..but prob only every 3hrs or so at most is my guess

so if your unit is ying my unit is yang

ying/yang

go figure..unless I'm missing something oh...my work unit is 7767.6 or some such....again it is stock miner .95 came in a destroyed box filled with rainwater ..I'm still going with the theory that the reason it works as well (or at all) is they had to hand carry the box/unit with 2 hands everywhere or it would have fallen thru the soggy box that was ripped in half...there fore it never "took flight" like I suspect other units did in such a large if light box....or I'm full of it..but anyway

whatever ...I usually walk by the unit and avert my eyes...I'm not worthy....its the boss

anywhoo....from where I see it right now correct me if I'm full of it (likely)

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Yep, you are doing pretty good. No reason to change anything if you are happy and don't want to risk it.

Just shy of 24hrs on .98 my Saturn is Extremely Happy Grin

Here are the stats

At the server (most important in my eyes)

bitminer_knc   281.29 GH/s   59,519k (99.83%)   -  24hr average is 279GH/s

At CGminer (putty window)

try enablecores.bin, someone was mentioning it helped in his case

if your miner runs smooth on v0.95, it *might* run with lower performance on 0.98 as some have reported

however your 500 are too low anyway,
check the file asic_test in /config, or install bertmod on a previous firmware version to figure out what's the issue (dead vram, bad cores, or else)
