Have you try downloading the blockchain and bootstrap the client with it, if you worry about any malicious code or anything that comes with the blockchain download just use it as trial system to make sure your client is able to sync using your current network and computer system.
103  Other / Meta / Re: New rules to rank up is nice. on: March 26, 2018, 12:51:20 AM
The forum should have demerit button to minusing merits of merit-complainers, shit-posters, merit-beggars. I would like to use the button if Theymos make it. Something like Ignore but might have much more impacts. Additionally, demerit button will lead to another massive complaining wave in the forum from unconstructive users.
Merit system should eliminate that all, if it fails nothing will do, adding more and more system is not wise things to do. not everyone meriting now is complying to the rules, there is so many cases of abuses, demerit will also be the same, people will demerit others they don't like for no reason.

If it implemented probably your post will be demerited to death first and then you become the first to open a topic at first opportunity to ask for it to be removed, and please remember the more you change the software, the more likely you introduce bugs, security holes, complexity to the system can lead to exposed vulnerability or maybe heavy load that takes up server resources.

IMO it's not really useful :-)
But if you like it - use it ;-)

For me it's a waste of time because:
1) Amount of characters
2) Results are not so good as drawing pixel by pixel in Bitcointalk Preview Editor.
3)  Cool

What pixelette tool please?? Last give a link. Thanks

I wrote about those "generators" few month ago  Grin

They are all crap  Roll Eyes

You think I'm lying because I sell designs and I don't want people to know that they can generate a signature within a couple of minutes?
You're wrong  Cool

Try to use those "generators" to create a working/good looking BBCode Signature, then you'll understand why I don't use them  Cool

Best wishes.

Just use it as complimentary tools to the primary tools (SMF Preview Editor), I use 2-3 different tools to create screenshot, edit image and uploading before but once I have one tools that can do all that in one shot I use it, in this case the software don't have capability to render table so its not much usable for complex signature with clickable text and image but simple image would be easy
106  Other / Meta / Re: LoyceV's Merit source application on: March 25, 2018, 05:13:36 PM
sometime it is enviable to see someone who barely can differentiate between walking stick and blockchain can afford to have huge ignore list.
107  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My bitcointalk account is hacked how to recover? on: March 25, 2018, 03:58:26 PM
Please visit here for complete instruction to recover hacked account.

Theymos Intruction:
If you want us to recover a hacked/lost account, you need to prove that you own it. Typically, the only acceptable method of proving ownership is by signing a message (including current date and desired new email address) using a Bitcoin address or PGP key associated with the account. A Bitcoin address or PGP key is associated with the account only if the account posted the key/address, sent it in a PM, or if it is still listed in the account's profile.

Please send PM to cyrus or theymos if cyrus didn't respond in 2 week

112  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Jr.Member on: March 25, 2018, 05:54:22 AM
30 post need to be a jr.member  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
You need 30 post and wait for at least 1.5 months (3 period x 14 days = 42 days)
113  Other / Meta / Re: [LEARN] BBCode Lessons & Tutorials [+tutorial videos!] on: March 25, 2018, 05:22:46 AM
To make job easier without having to use Bitcointalk Preview Editor you can use this offline BBCode editor, it can render the image in almost realtime making it easy and faster to create the image from the block character.

Screenshot of it displaying the image shown here
Caution: not all bbcode work with SMF will render the same in the software, so make sure you still have SMF to make final adjustment, table tag is not working

116  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Post Throttle on: March 25, 2018, 02:47:51 AM
refresh every two weeks , so even if i have (30 posts) i will never be Jr ?? only after refresh ??
Yes you have to wait for the fixed 2 week period, so approximately 6 weeks after you open an account you will reach Jr. Member if you post daily at least 1 post, or if you at least already have posted 29 post prior to reaching the fixed date the 2 week period takes place, and you just post 1 more post during the next 2 week period you will be promoted to the Jr. Member rank
117  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Jr.Member on: March 25, 2018, 02:35:57 AM
From Newbie to Jr, You need to post more and be active for about 4 week
From Jr to Member you need 10 Merits and also active for couple weeks

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every 30 minutes.

The new membergroup limits work like this:
Group   Requirement
Brand New   0 posts
Newbie   (none)
Jr. Member   activity: 30
Member   activity: 60
Full Member   activity: 120
Sr. Member   activity: 240
Hero Member   activity: 4
Tell me please, how many merits for a member?I have not found this information anywhere.
To reach Member rank it takes about 2.5 month & need Minimum Activity 60 & also need Minimum Merit 10
118  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 25, 2018, 02:19:35 AM
I usually clip quotes all the time and I've found me just 5 sendable merit after the system is introduced so that's exactly how it looks like, rigid caste system with nobody ever ranking up. Anyway that's great cuz we'd farm all the signature campaigns and noobs would suffer Tongue I notice all the new coin devs are newbies not even Jr. Member so even if they get merit they'd never be able to be like us the master race of The Ones Who Got Here First Cool
That most likely just alt account they use to post the bounty pages, they have to be very knowledgeable about cryptocurrency and also how this forum posting works to be able to run bounty campaign, there is so much of this forum intricacies you need to know ahead before running such campaign.
119  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Jr.Member on: March 25, 2018, 12:44:30 AM
long story to be legendary ( 2 years )
but what is the (14 days ?)

Simple explanation of how Activity works

Copied and slightly modified for clarity from table of the activity periods and time it will take you to achieve each rank written by: hilariousandco

The way activity is calculated is complicated to understand, but simply put you can only get 14 activity points every (two week) 14 days period. This is basically all you need to know but I will explain the intricacies and technicalities of the system below to avoid any confusion:

  • You can only get 14 activity points every fortnightly period.
  • The fortnightly periods are fixed and do not start when you sign up.
  • A list of all the dates of the activity periods can be found on this spreadsheet (credit goes to jambola2 for compiling it).
  • You can technically get more than 14 activity in two weeks if you sign up between periods.
  • You only need to make at least one post in each activity period to be able to collect the activity at a later date. For instance, you could make one post in three different periods and you would then have 3 posts and 3 activity, but a potential activity of 42. Once you made the 42 posts you would then have 42 activity but no more. If you made one post in 35 different periods you would then have 35 posts and 35 activity but a potential activity of 480. That means you would be a Junior Member but if you made the full 480 posts you would instantly become a Hero Member.
  • If your post count eclipses your activity by 14 or more then you will only need to make one post in the new period to get the full 14 activity. For instance, your post count is 200 but your activity is only 28. To get another 14 activity you will only need to make one post in the new period and you will then have a total of 42 activity.

Short version of Activity FAQ

Can I get more than 14 activity in two week period?

No. However, you can technically get more than 14 activity in a fortnight if you sign up in between periods, but you can't get more than 14 activity in a fortnightly period. For instance, if the period starts on a Wednesday and you sign up on Tuesday you can get 14 points on Tuesday and another 14 on Wednesday providing the period has started. You will then have 28 activity points but won't be able to get any more until two weeks' time when the new period starts.

The actual Activity calculation

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Rough summary of what this means: If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.

Activity is updated every hour.

Dari tingkatan newbie ke jr dapat saya lewati.sedangkan dari jr ke member sepertinya agak susah.
Bisakah saya di bantu untuk naik ke tingkatan member Huh
There is lots of people at Indonesian board who can give Merit, just post quality posting at Indonesian board, look at post that received lots of Merit and then try do the same thing, for example create guide, chart or anything that can help others.
