101  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Thread re opened due to buyer accusing me of shipping an empty package. on: April 27, 2017, 08:17:00 PM
If insurance was paid for file a claim with the shipper and let them sort it out.

I can't as it is 2 weeks after it was signed for. TNT will laugh at me.. especially as the package was not signed for as damaged or open or empty.. really who would open a Jiffy bag that feels empty when you are expecting a metal bar??? Even more so why wait 2 weeks??

In PM he mentions traveling yet above no mention of that being the cause of the delay

I don't understand this. Are you saying TNT erases its records after 13 days?  That sound pretty far fetched to me.
102  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Thread re opened due to buyer accusing me of shipping an empty package. on: April 27, 2017, 08:12:11 PM
Please post the image of the receipt with the weight, or message it to me directly if it shows personal address, etc.  If it's legit then I will drop my complaint.  I am not lying about the envelope being sealed and empty, but if I see a receipt showing that there was an actual weighted item shipped to me, then I will have to be satisfied that someone swiped the item along the way.
103  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Thread re opened due to buyer accusing me of shipping an empty package. on: April 27, 2017, 08:08:05 PM
I live in an apartment complex and the package was received by the apartment manager.  By the time I had it in hand, the delivery company was long gone.  I was handed this package.

Travel was part of the personal business - what of it?  It's not "inconsistent" it's simply fleshing out what I messaged the seller directly.  Do you immediately tell of your personal backstory in every circumstance?  As the issue has escalated to a broader audience, I chose to frame it differently.

TMAN, in answer to why you would do this over such a petty sum, I honestly don't know. Again, all I know is that when I got the envelope it was sealed and yet empty.

I am wondering why if it was insured it didn't come to me personally - why was a third-party (my apartment manager) allowed to sign for it?  I paid for insurance with the shipping so isn't the onus on you to send it to me with directions that it actually be received and signed by me?

104  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Kialara Lab Silver Balls.. #633 - 0.09 high bid ends tonight on: April 27, 2017, 06:32:57 PM
I am the buyer in this situation.

I sent the bitcoin for the Kialara after some positive exchanges with TMAN regarding this and other pieces.  He has a good trust score and was very responsive and I got a good vibe, and so I (lazily perhaps) opted to just send him the BTC for the item when I won, with no escrow.

All seemed to be going well and he provided a tracking number, and I paid to have it insured.

When I got the package, it was obviously empty AND SEALED.   Seller is saying that it is "sliced open" but it was not.  Maybe he's seeing some sort of fold in the tape from the picture, but it was literally just a sealed, empty envelope.

As soon as I picked it up my immediate thought was "dammit, I should have escrowed."

Second thought:  "I know I got a real steal of a price on that auction, I guess he wasn't inclined to part with it for such a low price."

Third thought was:  "how can I ever "prove" that in fact it was an empty envelope when he first sent it?  When I contact the seller, he'll just say that it was stolen by some unknown person somewhere along the line.   He'll have proof that he sent the envelope and it will be his word against mine as to whether the item was ever actually in there or not.  He cleverly did this in a way that makes it almost impossible for me to get my BTC back."

Frankly, I despaired and figured I was just out the BTC, caveat emptor.  It wasn't a ton of money so I wasn't devastated, and my inclination was to just learn my lesson and move on.   I was also very busy with personal life issues, so I put it on the backburner

As I kept thinking about it, I figured it was at least worth reaching out TMAN to ask why he would feel the need to stiff me.   So I messaged him yesterday about it.

He denied it and asked for pictures, which I sent.  He claimed that the pictures show that the envelope was sliced, but it was not.  It was a sealed envelope.  Unless someone was thoughtful enough to re-tape it shut after robbing it, the item just wasn't in there in the first place.

I will say that I am heartened that the seller volunteered to reopen this thread and basically throw this out to the community for judgement.  That shows a certain amount of good-will and I am hopeful that he will make this right.

All I know is that I sent the BTC for the Kialara and received an empty, sealed envelope in return.  Just because I delayed in messaging him about it and didn't immediately start rampaging and complaining and down-voting him doesn't change that fact.  Also, just because I have been quiet on the forum for three years doesn't make me a liar either.  I got burned hard on the Activeminer scam and lost a small fortune, so I haven't been on here much at all since then.

Thank you

Seems to be down right now - page has just a bunch of <<m.level>> text?

Someone needs to manufacture a waterproof case with key-ring loop for the Trezor, one that could be snapped shut but reopened to allow access to the buttons.  I want to keep it with me at all times but I don't want to damage it (even though the stress tests on it are pretty reassuring).

Was really happy to have my Trezor arrive yesterday, sadly I've not been able to get it to work.
I've installed the browser plugin, plugged it into a USB port and get the positive confirmation noise. I then go to MyTrezor.com and it says:
"Device could not be opened. Make sure you don't have myTREZOR running in another tab or browser window!".
I have tried Chrome, Firefox and IE and also reinstalling the browser plugin. I've temporarily disabled any malware/anti virus that could be interfering. Nothing has helped. I'm on Windows 7.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Support say they have had other people with the same issue and are looking into it.

This problem is known, and as far as I know it is specific to Win 7 only, contact the Trezor support please

Isn't this the USB cable problem again? Can you try different USB cable?

Thanks for the suggestion - just tried this with the same results.

Support are on the case, but as always with a new toy I am keen to get it working asap Cheesy
Try different USB ports.

I have tried this.

Are you 100% sure you don't have another window open somewhere on your computer where you've already logged into myTrezor.com?  That is what happened to me when I got that message, I'm embarrassed to say.  Perhaps it's minimized or off-screen?
111  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: September 04, 2014, 01:08:41 AM
Just got my Trezor.  Followed all instructions - set a PIN, wrote down the recovery seed words.

BUT when I go to unplug the Trezor, the computer continues to "remember" me.  And more troubling, when I plug the Trezor back in, it does NOT ask for the PIN on the Trezor!!  This is a fundamental problem here.

Anyone else have this?  Please advise.

Yes and no

You can use a new stick on a fresh offline computer

Or simply plug nothing, forge and sign transaction on offline computer, convert signed transaction to qr code.

Flash it and broadcast it with online computer.

I won't bother doing this with little money (that's why I own a trezor), but if you move a big amount it can be worth the pain.

Even if you move a USB stick from online and offline computer, exploit is possible but you will be harder to target than if you connect to trezor related website.

If you have to have an offline computer in order to safely spend a paper wallet, why not have *just* an offline computer. Then, why not make it a single purpose computer that does nothing but securely store keys and sign data? That's what the Trezor is.

Boom, nailed it

What is the guarantee that myTREZOR.com will always be around for me to be abel to spend/receive bitcoins using the Trezor?

In 30 years, will that website still be around?

So are the ActM rigs still mining at ALL?

Hey Ken, why don't you stop being a little bitch and post some information that is of use to the people that gave you money because they had faith in you.

+1

Wish I had never heard of bitcoin securities.  Would be much, much, much wealthier with just my original bitcoins.

This is somewhat comforting!

Ken never promised dividends today, only that this is the cut-off date for transfers to C-T.

It would be nice if that coincided with dividends - it would reward those of us who have doubled down and purchased a lot of dumped shares from people divesting - but it wasn't promised and it certainly isn't "all over" if he doesn't pay them out.

The good news is that if you have lost all confidence in the company, you now have the ability to sell your shares, get (some) BTC and literally never think about ActiveMining again.  No need to sit here crunching numbers day and night and suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.
