101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why should governments allow bitcoin to continue grow? on: November 11, 2018, 04:21:18 PM
hi there
I wonder why should governments allow bitcoin to continue growing?
after all, they want to have control over the money that we are using

Because BTC was made by american intelligence to easily fund their agents & spies all over the world.
That't what Natalia Kasperskaya said at a Kaspersky convention, and i believe it to some extent.

After all, if the gov hated bitcoin so much then it was very easy for them to take it down:
they may just arrest/blackmail the devteam/distributors of Bitcoin,
and/or block the bootstrap node IPs that the BTC wallets require to join the network when they are launched.

It would be that easy

Hi,
For the past year I have been working on a tech/crypto-oriented social platform. I want to create a clean environment where people can share, learn and meet people.
The main difference about this platform is that it's going to be exclusive/invite-only and the users will be encouraged to contribute with quality content.
What I have noticed over the years is that every great platform has slowly turned to shit because dumb people are easy money. I've also noticed that platforms that are usually more restrictive/exclusive and have an actual  'moral code' and not just money are the ones that last the long run.
The main reason I spent a lot of time working on this was because I failed to find an internet platform that I could personally be excited about and want to be part of.
Compare this forum for example now and 8-10 years ago - there still is quality content and great users BUT nowadays 90% of them are either 70 IQ airdrop bots or they want to sell you on their next bitcoin ICO.

What I want is really hard to achieve but it can also be really rewarding.
If you're interested in investing or collaborating or just want to hear more please DM me.

//edit
I can't message people because I'm new.
Here's a link to the platform and what I have so far: https://glowbe.org
Everything is still raw and alpha, so keep that in mind.

Thanks.

I don't understand why you are limiting the topic of your platform to the cryptocurrencies , while you have a great general-purpose name such as Glowbe.
You should make a better use of it.

Make a user-driven scientific community, that covers many tech topics, not just cryptos.
AI, robotics, quantum computing, hardware architecture, or even mechanics, biology, chemistry, electronics, whatever

I come to write here to avoid censorship.

I noticed that you announce divide by 100,000 the ETNX in OCTOBER. So concretely I buy 1,000,000 ETNX and 2 months later you will leave me 1 ETNX.

It's like buying 100 Bitcoin and 2 months later you leave me 0.000001 BTC.

And you tell me it's okay, look now you have 0.000001 BTC and also 100 BitcoinDiamond thanks to the fork.

While knowing that your exchange in ETNXP is not the same part and does not have the same goal, neither the same value, nor the same utility.

I realize the scam is getting ready because 1 ETNX won't have the same value as 1,000,000 ETNX currently and ETNXP doesn't even have any value. and then we don't give a shit about ETNXP video games.

5 litoshi X 1,000,000 = 0.5000000 ETNX
5 litoshi X 1 = 0.00000100 ETNX

While knowing that ETNXP does not have the same function it is for video games. That's not what I want to invest in.

I'm shocked by the censorship you showed on DISCORD you banished me without any somation I posted in 3 category, live support, minnig and wall because I wanted to know people's opinion and create discussion, it's the principle of a social network.

Your attitude is deplorable I regret having trusted you, your scam is clearly established, you steal people who invest in a defined utility.

If that's how you intend to advance the search for the blockchain then I'm laughing my ass off.

Shame on you!

RUN AWAY FROM THIS SCAM

That's a very bold statement, my friend. You actually have the nerve to call this coin a scam? While I don't believe you, I do think that you should produce some concrete evidence if you can. Well, can you?

Has the the scam described above happened already ?

For what date is this "division" scheduled?
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can DApps be censored? on: October 23, 2018, 01:12:29 PM
--- Alternative solution: APKs ---

App/DApp developers may distribute whatever application they want as an .APK to be installed directly, so it would be independent of the Play Store, but that has a strong drawback.
The people almost never directly install .APKs because they think it's a virus.
If something is not on the Play Store and approved by it, then probably it is suspicious. That's the mentality.
If we can eliminate this lack of trust on the .APKs, we solve all of our problems.

We can think of making a voting platform that provides users with trust ratings & user reviews on all the APKs.
So that an user can check the trust rating of an APK before installing it.
Also, an APK may have an MD5 checksum associated with it so that you are sure that you are installing the right file.

But these solutions must be made usable for the idiots, not only for tech guys like us that know what MD5 is, for example.
These mechanisms must be automated and transparent, provided from a unique interface, with a few clicks.
The user should not need to spend time to do his own research , or to check if the MD5 of the APK he is downloading is the right one.

I am thinking of some kind of Bittorrent app for mobile that lets you download everything (movies, music, docs, apps, etc. ) ,
but that also rewards users to give genuine feedback and trust rating on files and apps on the Bittorrent network.
And developers may distribute their own APKs or DApps by simply sharing a torrent.
The problem with Bittorrent is that very few people spend time to give ratings and reviews on what they downloaded, so a reward system is needed to encourage them.

-----

----- Other thoughts ---

About the open-source smartphones i was talking about, this solution may be even harder, as Librem, etc. will hardly have a significant market share, because Librem doesnt' natively run Whatsapp and other crucial apps the people want before deciding to buy a phone.
Convincing Librem to pre-install a DApp platform like Trust or Vault.io may be not so expensive as convincing Samsung or LG to do the same, but it would be nonsense if in any case Librem is not going to gain market share.

105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can DApps be censored? on: October 23, 2018, 01:12:13 PM
I am afraid the Government can do that if they want. I have no idea what the solution would be. Let me know if you found out anything. I am interested as well.

--- Possible solution for mobile: pre-installed apps --

It would be great if some DApp browser (Vault.io, Trust, ecc. ) will be pre-installed on the phone directly by the OEM distributor or phone manufacturer,
so that the users already have Trust/Vault pre-installed when they buy the phone, and there's no need to put it on the Play/App Store.

Samsung has been doing that, indeed when you buy a Galaxy there are already a few Samsung apps pre-installed that do not even need to be on the Play Store.

Of course, you have to pay the manufacturer and/or OEM distributors for them to pre-install your app on all the phone units before sale.
This solution needs money.

106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Search engine for DApps ? on: October 21, 2018, 08:40:43 PM
There are a lot of variables that play a part on how the search engine behaves on platforms that are already available such as for ETH there is Parity UI, Vault io. This discovery system applies to some wallets but not all. The ranking system is probably based on the specific algorithm to the wallet as nothing can be said for sure. With time we'll probably be able to see such a search engine for DApps that cater to a wider audience not just a specific one.

AFAIK usually the wallets rank the DApps based on user likes/feedback by default.
PlayStore ranking also is based mostly on that parameter.

So you need just to develop a useful and cool DApp and promote it properly.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can DApps be censored? on: October 21, 2018, 07:39:56 PM
CardStack is solving this problem for ETH dApps because they are making decentralized uncensored marketplace for mobiles.
And NoS will solve the same problem for NEO and ETH dApps and ICO NoS will be launched soon.

How are they censorship-resistant?
Cardstack/Nos, like Trust , are just Android/iOS apps.
So they have the same censorship issue i explained above:
if you can run a DApp that the gov doesn't like, from within CardStack/NoS/Trust, the gov can ask Google to remove CardStack/Nos/Trust altogether from their store.

The only solution AFAIK is to try convincing the masses to use open-source mobile phones like Librem or others (https://opensourceforu.com/2018/05/5-open-source-mobile-operating-sytems-alternatives-to-android/).
And the DApps should run on those phones as well, not just on Android/iOS
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Can DApps be censored? on: October 21, 2018, 04:47:05 PM
One of the goals of Ethereum and other DApp platforms is to provide users with decentralized , and censorship-free as a consequence , software.

But i think they fail to resist censorship, especially on mobile.

In order for DApps to run on mobile , users still need to install an app from the Play/App Store, which is controlled by central authorities like Google.

Take for example the Trust DApp Browser on Android, which is what you need for discovering and running DApps on android.
Suppose that one of the DApps listed by the Trust browser is a free-speech app that the govs don't like.
They may even ask Google to ban Trust Browser altogether from the app store, even if only one of the DApps inside it was the "culprit"

Even the desktop wallets like Parity are not very safe from this POV.
AFAIK , it is still not possible to anonimize / torify your IP when using an ETH wallet, like you can do with Bitcoin Core for example.
So the gov can still take action against the people that use or own that free-speech DApp they don't like, in that they can easily get the names and home addresses of those people.

What do you think about that, and possible solutions?
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Search engine for DApps ? on: October 20, 2018, 08:32:22 AM
Nice questions. I am aslo interested in these problems.

In my opinion, DApps are the same Apps. But Apps have to run in the host servers, if servers are shutdown then Apps die. DApps will run forever if it is still used by users. So, I think your problems about DApps will also solved as same as they work in App.

By the way, I have a question too. Is there DApp store, likes Google Play or Apple's App store?

If with Dapp Store you mean just a place where you can do the DApp discovery and use them as well , yes, you can do that with some wallets.
For ETH DApps i only am aware of Parity UI and Vault.io.
They both have DApp discovery and interaction.

But i still haven't figure out how those wallets rank the DApps in the directory.
Especially when the user does a keyword /tag based search , or he simply is browsing by category.

Probably the ranking algorithm is specific to the wallet, so we should directly ask the Parity or Vault.io team.
Another thing... from the Parity wiki I've read that you have to spend 1 ETH just to publish your DApp!! That's crazy.
Check this https://wiki.parity.io/Register-your-DAPP-for-discovery
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are you sure the market will come back at end this year? on: October 19, 2018, 10:12:42 PM
No, it's too early.
Institutional investors are entering crypto in the Q1 or Q2 2019 ( as per Cointelegraph ).
So i'm not expecting any big price rise before the first months of 2019 or maybe even the next spring.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Search engine for DApps ? on: October 19, 2018, 10:05:38 PM
If you develop and publish your DApp on whatever platform ( ETH, EOS, TRX , etc. ), what does it take for your Dapp to be at the top position for specific keyword or tag based queries ?

Do these DApp platforms have a built-in search engine with proprietary ranking algorithms ?

Also, is it possible to buy ad spaces and links to your DApp from someone else's DApp?
Just like you would advertise your websites on  the regular web.

You postponed that to the 1st November with no official announcement

Is it possible for you to list the Deneum token during the ICO ( starting in November) ?

So that the traders can buy/sell the token from your exchange, during the ICO.
Just like Binance did with EOS and Electroneum

118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] GRAFT - Universal Payment Processing Network on: April 02, 2018, 05:53:48 PM
I am particularly interested in Credit Card payment processing.
So in fact Graft is also an intermediary for CC payments, like Paypal, right?

1- Can it be anonymous for merchants?
It would be perfect if only the intermediary (a CC accept broker) is required to have an actual VAT , to be able to accept the credit card payments.
That would be completely transparent from the merchant's POV. He is going to receive the money converted in Graftcoins (minus fee) from the intermediary, and that's the only thing he should know. No need for bureaucracies.

2- Do the CC payments only work online or also at local shops, via POS device?
It would be great if i, as a merchant, can accept payments with a physical POS, that is actually linked to the bank account of the intermediary, so that he is the one who will receive the CC payment.

120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why you Still believe in Bitcoin? on: March 27, 2018, 04:45:33 PM
I believe in Bitcoin to finally defeat the point of giving your money to a bank.

1- banks , in people's minds, have been only useful for  "security" purposes: people want to avoid the risk of keeping cash at home at the robbers' disposal.
But with wallet encryption, you can achieve the same result with no need to give your money to a bank

2- you can give money to someone else privately: the gov will not know your money movements, if they are in Bitcoin

3- your balance will be private and even the gov cannot find out what is your balance. Just link your wallet with TOR for additional privacy Wink
