It is paid beartards trying to drive the price down by scaring people. Trust your own judgement.
Well, I dont think they are paid to spread FUD. But, I think, they are frustrated due to the recent price fall. These people never had the time to read the whitepaper and thought bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme. So, they bought some coins and as the price is low for a while, they are getting hyper. It's probably a little of both, during these "down" times it seems like alot of people try to spread FUD to drive/keep prices down so they can buy more.

I want to know if anybody in the Bitcoin community think that Bitcoin is a big ponzi scheme like Bernie Madoff. If so please vote Yes or No. Also, please explain why you think that.
Hate to be that guy, but this has been discussed numerous times on this board - use the search feature. I recall seeing several Legendary users weigh in on this subject in the past you might find some good information searching the board. Edit: Grammar

This is very sad, not only because Charlie is in Jail, but because it discourages people from wanting to create businesses with Bitcoin.

What do you all think of changetip? I think it is a great way to bring bitcoin to new users by being kind, answering simple questions and giving small tips. The Tipping-tuesday reddit-thread gets lots of comments from users from the Xbox-subreddit (obviously after the microsoft announcement), BUT not many bitcoiners are involved tipping... http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2phm79/tipping_tuesday_december_16_2014/Upvoting this reddit-thread would be nice, so that more bitcoiners come across it (and maybe give a tip or two) I don't like Changetip, I don't like its name, I don't like its business model, I don't like its logo. I don't want to associate any Bitcoin addresses with social media accounts. Separation of money and everything ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I might be too hopeful but I think a future Sidechain will satisfy Changetips usecase.

Just an FYI, that video is from the Khan Academy Computer Science Information Science courses, which are free for anyone to take. I recommend anyone who is interested in Bitcoin/Cryptography/Encryption to take this course: https://www.khanacademy.org/computing/computer-science/cryptographyIt goes from the first few types of encryption - Caesar ciphers to modern ciphers

I have recently been brought aware of the fact that bitcoin transactions can be signed offline. I know they still have to touch the network somewhere to propagate throughout it.
What exactly are you doing when you "sign" the transaction? I assume it has something to do with the private key that doesn't reveal the private key. A sort of non-technical explanation would be great. Just trying to wrap my wits around how it is secure to do this type of thing.
https://bitcoinarmory.com/cold-storage/That has a good explanation on how to use Cold Storage, in Armory's setup you still need a machine which has a "watching" copy of your offline wallet. This watching copy can't sign any transactions, just broadcast them. It can create the unsigned transaction, you copy the tx to your offline machine, sign it, then broadcast the tx online some method.

Lets take a step back and think about why are we sending anything to Mozilla in the first place. I feel like their browser is not fantastic, and the other software they have made has been less than impressive. I'll donate Bitcoin to worthy causes; charities, good projects, not just because they are specifically accepting Bitcoin.

When you find half a BTC you put on a paper encrypted wallet... but have no idea what the passphrase is...
CRAP.. lol.
I would focus on the feeling you get when you realize how great security of Bitcoin really provides for a store of value. Sorry on losing half btc, I would look at this script: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=85495.msg942171#msg942171Not sure you can use it with the paper wallet but I know some people have had to try and brute force their wallets passphrase before.

Why speculate?
No one knows what will happen. You know no more than myself or my equally clueless wife. All we can do is best guess.
I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing. - Socrates Speculating is fun, education can give you an advantage not many things can predict a certain outcome when investing.
