Yes, on the computer itself when the miner starts up, but when the rig is not connected. on the main computer, where there is a purse port 39655 opened

Hm, what's the specific command that you're using? Also which miner/OS are you running on?
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SGL] Sigil - Decentralized, 0% Fee Crowdfunding on: January 13, 2018, 09:46:03 PM
guys hello, tell me, I'm setting up a solo all the time giving an error that it can not connect to the local wallet. the miner writes stratum connection failed: failed to connect to 127.0.0.1 port 39655

Is your wallet open at the time? Has to be if you're solo mining.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SGL] Sigil - Decentralized, 0% Fee Crowdfunding on: January 13, 2018, 09:21:30 PM
i only be able to hash at around 1400kh/s while mining in xvg i could get up to 18000kh/s. so what is wrong here?

Different algorithm from XVG, different benchmarks

Suprnova already support this coin,it's good beginning , dev please keep hard work.

Suprnova is closing their pool, which is not a good sign at all.

It does allow us to consolidate and drive the hashrate towards the official pool though, to further protect against 51% attacks. Not necessarily a good or bad thing. While Suprnova did allow us to gain further exposure and attract the mining power of their clients, it also drove the PoW difficulty up and alienated smaller miners.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SGL] Sigil - Decentralized, 0% Fee Crowdfunding on: January 13, 2018, 04:41:53 PM
Found a block yesterday, but have not received the coins anywhere (not in wallet or under Earnings). I'm still mining, however very disappointed. Block height 8174 Address is  SYDnGwKDd9N1M5KCxeg7dFWY4K3iYVg8jM Should have received 25 SGL.

Were you solo mining? If you were mining in a pool, anyone can discover a block--it doesn't really mean you get the reward. In a pool, the reward is split between everyone who contributed hash rate.

Hey guys, the official pool is back up. Payouts should work.

Also, about the staking. I personally stopped staking, went and moved all the coins I had control over to a single wallet and stopped it from staking. You can see that wallet at the top of the rich list. However, the other devs did not feel the same way--we didn't do an ICO, we'll be supporting this coin fully ourselves, we'll have a higher overhead because of 0% fees and supporting an entire platform on our own, and continued to stake their share. There's not 1000 wallets that are staking, there's 100. The difficulty is not necessarily high because we are staking, when we were staking earlier the difficulty never went over .005. People are getting a lot more coins because of the bounty and are staking on their own.

I'll talk to them as soon as I can (it's 7:00 AM here), and probably send them a portion of my share to stop the staking. I get that it's a controversial issue, and I know you all are up in arms about this.

I really want this coin to succeed.

How did you come with the notion that you would be able to stake the premined coins?-

LOL .... for real .... staking premine thats a whole new level

Next level is to keep all the coins for devs and don't let anyone else mine, just sell  Grin

this numbers are basically wrong .... because u staking coins ..

Done, okay, we'll stop staking. We clearly miscalculated. Apologies for putting you guys in this situation. I'll work on clearing up the top 100 wallets and making everything more transparent as soon as I get the mining server back up and running.

lets see

Difficulty
POW: 133.64368503
POS: 0.00257923

lying ? Premine is still being staked your wallets are getting stakes after you said you stopped . i stop mining this alt[Suspicious link removed]d luck .

how to know dev is still staking after he said he stopped

1 - Go to http://www.sigilexplorer.com/richlist  and look at any of the premine wallets . aka top 100 wallets

2- Look at the date/time and the POS Difficulty he said he would stop

3- POOF ... PUnked

Im not against staking the premine its your coin you do whatever you want with it , just don't mislead anothers into it

Apologies. I stopped staking my portion of the premine as well as all the other funds. The other devs didn't feel the same way after the other responses agreeing with staking the premine. You can see the top two wallets with the majority.

The Slack campaign has just finished its quota! More than 1000 people have joined the Slack and as a result we're no longer offering 25 SGL on signup. The campaign may come back in the future but it's run its course currently.

In other news, the official mining pool is back up and running. We lowered the fee to 1% to further compete with suprnova. Check out http://sigilmining.com for details

I'd say these guys are just whiny saps, you guys are completely funding the initial developments out of pocket without an ICO, these guys are upset about you staking, when most companies release an ICO with 4 rounds selling 50 million coins each round. And then halting developments for an entire quarter while they party. I'd say your plan to stake the premine is logical and reasonable to support developmental cost. And earn a clearly needed salary. I could see the concern if you guys staking, made it so no one else could stake, but I'm earning about 125 coins a day no problem. I'd say continue staking if I were you guys.

How many coins do you have staked?

1525 in staking mode.

I got about the same amount, never did staking before. But I keep getting the 'no mature blocks found, staking paused'. Have had the coins for over 24 hours in my wallet and over 200 confirmations. Am I doing something wrong or am I too impatient?

Did you follow the mining guide, and enable staking? Also, do you leave your wallet open at all times. Their was a slight glitch I had after encrypting my wallet. Also it's best to have multiple staking addresses, some times I get back to back to stake rewards from separate addresses.

Thank you for getting back on me. Yeah I did. Basically I enabled the advanced coin staking and devided my coins over three wallets, just to check out. But as I enable staking it says there are no mature blocks and that staking will be paused. But when I look at my balance, I see my full coin count after 'balance:' and after 'consolidated balance:'.. But 'Stake, Unconfirmed and Immature' are empty. Shouldn't my coins be under 'immature' if they weren't mature? Have been google-ing too, but couldnt find the write awnser yet.

Every time you move your coins, they'll have to mature again. Has it been 24 hours since you divided your coins?

Thanks for responding dear Dev. Well the first time I waited for about 32 hours, and after that I thought maybe it wasn't working because I didn't devide them. So now I'm maybe just impatient LoL. Sorry to spam the topic with this. I think I will wait for a day and check it again after.
Is the maturity process interupted when the wallet closes? And is it common that I don't see any number behind 'immature coins' in the wallet?

No problem. And yeah it can be a bit weird sometimes. If you're sure that it's been 24 hours since they've been confirmed in your wallet, try closing/reopening the wallet and it should work.

Love the project Dev team.

***MESSAGE TO NEW PEOPLE TO THE THREAD*** get over the pre-mine staking issue, there is no such thing as a free lunch, and if you want a good dev team to not abandon a project, and afford lunch, they need to find creative ways to make it work. They have fixed this issue, lets move on.***

@all the slack link doesnt seem to be working on the site anymore, anyone have a live link?

Thanks! And about the Slack, there's a working link in the main post of this ANN, under "Social Channels." I'll fix it on the site in a bit.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SGL] Sigil - Decentralized, 0% Fee Crowdfunding on: January 11, 2018, 07:28:34 PM
I am definitely supporting this project.The dev team seems to be legit and ready to go as far as it takes. Is there no set limit on blog entry bounties, as long as each entry highlights a different aspect of the coin?

Thanks! And nope! Only given out 100,000 SGL so far, plenty more to distribute.

What is real price for SGL? 0,002 BTC(28$) or more?

By the time we get on exchanges, there'll be ~3 million SGL in circulation. Of those, 2 million are held by the devs, and won't be touched. It all depends what people believe a fair market cap to be.

What are the first exchanges we can expect to see Sigil listed on, and is there a time frame currently?

Sorry, can't speak too much on it right now. We're in contact with some, waiting to hear back from most. We'll post here immediately when we have some concrete news to share.

So, how can I buy coins? I'd mine but I can't compete this 3Gh/s network with my 400 kh/s 7950 gpu.

Well we're giving away 500,000 coins in an extensive bounty program, check the site for details. You can earn anywhere from 25-2000 coins for completing simple tasks. No exchanges yet but we're working on it!

My wallet is also starting to crash. Is this forked from TZC ? That coin had a similar issue

Yep, it's a TZC fork. I did notice the issue when I was looking on some older threads but thought I had fixed the issue, being that it was thought to be through staking throughput and its use of resources. Weird though that I can't get the issue to be reproduced on any of my compiled wallets, either on Windows, Mac, or Linux.

If your wallet keeps crashing, try and disable staking by clicking "Tools"/"Disable PoS Mining". I'll look at it further and try to reproduce the error.

Staking is disabled already, it still crashes. Only "fix" is to re-import the privkey into a fresh wallet and after a certain amount of time, probably the min staking time, it crashes again.. So you need to keep doing this over and over again.. That was the reason I delisted TZC some time ago as AFAIK it isn't fixed until today there

Interesting. Okay, next crash could you send me your debug.log file? I'll try to get to the bottom of this.

No error in the debug log and nothing on the console either when in crashed.. nothing at all - exactly the same like with TZC

Really sorry for any inconvenience. Digging further into this, it seems that the blockchain data can sometimes corrupt for some reason on the Windows OS due to PoS blocks being processed incorrectly. Could you try a rescan of the network through backing up your wallet.dat and deleting all other items (besides wallet.dat) in your data folder and then reopening the wallet? You're right, that's the only way to fix this at the moment. I'll try to find the root cause of this further.

Coin Supply (SGL) 2667540

I assume the full 6721 block belong to miner which is 6721x25=168025 coins

2667540-168025=2499515

2499515/2667540x100=93.7%

Means 6722 blocks onward developer control 93.7% of staked coin ?

Amazing...

To be fair we're haven't been staking most of them and are giving away 500,000 coins. Also we're being asked to front the costs for an exchange and crowdfunding site with no fees whatsoever or ICO, instead the team raising the funds on their own.

Of course, we are greedy and don't want the devs to make any money on this... The premine is nothing that could make them money  Grin

Have you seen the first page?
    40 % (1,000,000 SGL)    ------------->      Marketing
    20 % (500,000 SGL)       ------------->      Developers / Founders
    20 % (500,000 SGL)       ------------->      Bounty Program
    10 % (250,000 SGL)       ------------->      Research / Development
    10 % (250,000 SGL)       ------------->      Legal

You think 500k SGL is a lot? Let's say it hit .25 by the end of the year, that's 125k in USD, divided among I'd assume at least 5 people. So that's ~25k a year. Virtually poverty, when they've completely fronted ALL development cost. AND the service they plan to provide is FREE.

Noone forced them to make those calculations, it was their decision and I suppose they know what they are doing. And it's not 500, but 750, i'd count Research/Development as well.

We made the decision not to to run an ICO because we believe in the future of the coin. We figured the premine was necessary because it allows us to retain some of the coin for future work and development, however we did not expect this backlash when we mentioned that we were staking, because as @Crypitol mentioned, we are fronting all the costs and hoping to build this coin from the ground up. The overhead will be actually even more significant than other coins--we'll be running the crowdfunding site without taking any fees.

Still though, we understand that it looks bad for devs to be staking this early in the game, and as a result we'll halt these efforts while we build up the network and allow for the coin to grow organically.

Taking a look at the top 100 list from the explorer. What's up with all the 10k SGL addresses over there?  Undecided

As of right now we're holding the premine in seperate addresses in 10k increments, as you can see

Just trying to understand why are you doing this? TOP100 wallets are now masked by the premine addresses.
Thanks.

Also waiting for an explanation regarding the 10k premined wallet addresses from TOP100 list.
Thanks.

1) DEV, explain TOP 100 wallets
2) seems there is no need in staking due TOP 100 wallets are staking ? Why you did such a way ? I am waiting for reward with 350 coins which are mature already and no luck

Lol when all the wallets staking ! We can forget to do the same ... We will never find a block ...

Hey guys, sorry for the wait, I was talking it over with the team and formulating our answer. When we first developed the coin, we came into it with the notion that we would be able to stake the premine--that we'd be able to get some form of passive income while working on the coin in order to pay for daily expenses--i.e. servers, exchanges, etc. However, we didn't completely take into account the effect that we'd have on the community as a whole in regards to them staking as well. I'll propose to the other members of the team that we stop staking until the network has developed more, would that be suitable?

Looool really??? You stake with premined coins ? What the .... Whats wrong with you guys?
How stupide is this ?
How you have the knowhow to create a coin, when you make so a big bullshit ? You have wrong calculated Huh Lol lol lol !!! Really really bullshit ... You really stake with 99% oft all mined coins Huh?? Haha great really great ... Go to hell !!!

I apologize personally on the behalf of the team. We won't make the same mistake again.
